We just booked ASP for our honeymoon. If you've stayed here what did you love? What did you hate? Any recommendations on excursions to take or restaurants to try?

TIA!

We will be going there in June for our 5th anniversary, have you been yet? If so did you like it? How were the tours that were included? TIA!

We went to Aventura about five years ago--for our honeymoon, and we loved it. It's big but I think I prefer the big resorts. The food was decent--not gourmet, but definetly good. We did two tours--a booze cruise to a private island and then Isla Mujeres, which was tons of fun and relaxing. We also did the Ruins, which was a long day and hot, but I thought it was worth it because it was really pretty and very interesting.

We stayed at Aventura for our honeymoon in 2002. The food was just okay, though I'm a pretty picky eater. One thing about Aventura that I really liked was that they had nightly entertainment. The only excursion we did on that trip was the lobster dinner cruise. We stayed at Royal Hideaway in Playacar last summer and did a zipline adventure - SO MUCH FUN! I would definitely recommend doing that. When we were in Cabo we swam with dolphins - another thing I would definitely recommend and I know they offer it there as well. As far as restaurants, we didn't really venture off the resort much, so I can't really help you there. I guess there is always Senor Frogs.

We went to ASP in 03. My favorite little excursion was a bike ride (rented them fron the resort) to Puerto Aventuras (http://www.puertoaventuras.com)' little "town" to walk around. We also LOVED a bar we found (we rented a car) called "La Buena Vida" in Akumal. Its got swings as bar stools and cool tree forts that you can climb up to and have a cocktail or beer and look at the water. (This was pretty much the view from the tree fort. http://www.puertoaventuras.com/places-nearby/akumal/akumal-4.jpg )
