Did anyone else watch it? It was after Gilmore Girls last night and my house was clean, so I watched it. I liked the 9 girls that they selected to go onto the cometition. So funny, I like some of the songs that the group sings, but I never knew who was singing it!

Anyone else?

I am ashamed to admit I watched it... what trashy TV!! It was entertaining, in a "sit on my couch and feel superior" way, but i could have done without all the footage of them vomiting with the stomach bug.

Me too!

I admit, I'm watching also. So far I really like Chelsea. Even though she's not the best dancer I like her back story. I think it's motivational considering she was overweight but worked hard and now has the body she does. Plus I thought it was funny that her two group mates were trying to hard not to include her but then they both ended up messing up.

I'd like to know why they are looking for a new pussycat doll also.

The show is just entertaining I think. :D

okay, i admit it. i am hooked on this show.

did anyone else recognize melissa s., the one who almost got eliminated? i remember her from the last "making the band" with danity kane. she didn't make the final group, but she did get pretty far.

i just saw the pussycat dolls in concert since they opened for christina aguilera. nicole is the only one that really sings (i wondered if the other girls' mics were even on?), but they all dance and perform well.

I missed the first week, but I tuned in last night because I wanted something "light" to watch while I was paying bills & balancing my checkbook before Lost started. It was kind of entertaining...I might watch it again, we'll see. :)

Another show I didn't want to get hooked on:rolleyes: !!
I really like Chelsea, she is so beautiful and has the best voice. I hope she can get her dancing skills up to par. I think Sisely has a great voice too but she's too homely to be a Doll.

OMG I love this show! I can't believe I got hooked on it, but i did. And I love Chelsea, too. I thought it was so great that that Melissa girl was in the bottom two after being so mean to Chelsea and saying such catty things about her - and then Chelsea got great reviews! haha! Karma.

imagirliegirl: I think it comes on at 9 central on Tuesdays. Altho I don't remember what channel. I have it set to automatically record, but I do think it's Tuesday nights.

Disney: Yeah, I think you're definitely right about the time. It does seem to come on later than I realized.

And I completely agree with you re: the "rocker chick". How did she not get kicked off after complaining and talking back to the judges? i thought she was really whiny and cracked under the pressure. And seriously, HOW would she fit in as PCD???

As with all the other reality shows, IMO, they just want to keep the "drama" on the show to make it interesting. Same thing with America's Next Top Model. The producers love the catfight stuff!

Oh, and I'm rooting for CHELSEA all the way!!! Love her! :D She's a different look that the other PSD's.

YES! ITA, her makeover was the only one that was different.

The only Problem at this point I see with Chelsea is her dancing is not up to par. However,I do see big improvements each weeks with her and I think with the proper training she will be able to get the dancing down.

So glad Sisely is finally gone! I thought she was incredibly whiney. Altho, I have to admit she looked better than I've ever seen her in that final performance (thank you hair & makeup!) but she still needed to go. So over the whining!

I really like Chelsea, too. I love how all the other girls dog on her behind her back about not being a "dancer", but then she gets consistently positive remarks from the judges! hehe! I think she does really well for not being a trained dancer like the others.

I've been watching, but I haven't posted here yet. I was hoping Melissa S. would get the boot last night. She's getting on my last nerve with her attitude and bitchiness toward Chelsea. Even though Chelsea obviously has to work super hard to try to keep up with the dancing, I admire her for working so hard and showing such determination. Melissa R. was a goddess in this episode! I have to think she'll win it all. She's pretty much the total package.

Everytime the camera cuts to Asia (when they're not performing), she looks miserable- she's the bitchy girl in high school that hated everyone because she thought she was above them. And the girl simply can't take criticism. When Ron Fair told her last night that she sings off-key, the look on her face was enough to take out an entire town of music producers. She's got a lot of growing up to do. I can't wait to see her gone.

Did you see the look on Ron Fair's face last night? He HATES it when she does that, and he's commented on it before. I thought his poor brain was going to explode. I think Asia somehow thinks it makes her vibrato better - like her fingers control it or something.

I'm rooting for a showdown between Melissa R. and Chelsea as the final two. Chelsea's got so much heart, but Melissa R. rocked the performance last night. Unless Chelsea can get the dancing down, I think MR will beat her in the end.

That and DH and I both think she kinda looks like a guy in drag with all the make up on, same with Melissa S.

I REALLY was hoping Robin was going to say her name at the eliminations. What a little snot she is, maybe she had a little diarrhea of the mouth, but she just needs to stop ugh...

I agree completely. Personality wise and voice wise, I like Chelsea the best, but I can't imagine her winning. I hope Melissa R. gets it. I really enjoy her, and I think she'd be a good fit for the PCD. I did like Asia better tonight, though, so I wouldn't be too put out if she wins.

I'm being vague in case some of you haven't seen it yet. Ugh. Totally displeased with the results. First, I HATE her voice. Seriously, she fakes it, growls and sings through her throat. Second, I find it totally unfair that they gave her an upbeat song while they gave the other two very mellow songs. If they gave her a mellow song, she would've sucked.

On a totally different note, a friend of mine has box seats to the upcoming PCD/Christina Aguilera concert next week and she's bringing her husband, me and my husband (hey - it's free, we get VIP treatment and our husbands deserve to drool once in a while ;)). I wonder if Asia will be performing? If so, I'll give you all a grade on her performance!

AND, did anyone catch that they are running this again? Are a bunch of the girls dropping out of PCD? Or will the winners be "dolls" at the PCD clubs, and not necessarily in the group?

I liked Asia. I didn't think she was the best person to win, but I thought she was a nice person. They really made Melissa out to be a huge bitch last night. Honestly, I thought they could choose Chelsea, just because she was the underdog.

ITA. I was totally disgusted, actually, with the judges' choice. She can't take criticism, she has an attitude, she does that stupid thing with her fingers when she sings, she over-sings...ugh. I seriously couldn't believe that Melissa didn't win....I would have even accepted Chelsea, even though her dancing wasn't up to the level of the other two.

And I agree about the song choice. Chelsea did a great job vocally, but the minute Asia came out and started strutting around the stage, it was pretty annoying to see what a difference in crowd energy there was based on songs THEY didn't get to choose.

Even though I really like Chelsea, I really think Melissa R should have won. She's just as good of a dancer as Asia, and she's a much better singer! I think they didn't choose her because she looks a little bit similar to the lead singer. Asia would have been my last choice for winner.

I totally agree with you all. She was my least favorite to win. Very disappointing. Dh even commented on the fact that she was the only one to sing a fast song. We didn't think that was fair.

I agree - I thought Asia was pretty bad, in fact I said as they were singing that if they didn't pick Melissa I would be shocked.

And I thought Melissa did an awesome job of getting the crowd going with her slow song - to me the audience seemed more "into it" than they did with Asia's song.

I think I liked Chelsea best overall - her voice was amazing.

I must have missed the start of the fight in the bedroom, to me it made Asia look bad. ?

she does that stupid thing with her fingers when she sings

Forgot to mention that. Ugh. I was thinking that they would've picked a dancer over a good singer because the lead singer obviously would need the pipes and the others are window dressing. That said, I'd pick Melissa over Asia.

Dizzy

Totally agree with all the above!!! I loathe the stupid tapping thing on the microphone; and her voice is just terrible. Altho, we all know that a singing voice is not the most important thing in the PCD. Obviously; the only one who ever sings is Nicole; all the others just fake it and dance in the background, so I can understand why Asia would be the "right" choice for them.

I wonder, too, how Asia will assimilate into the group. Will she TRULY be a pussycat doll, or just another performer at the Pussycat Lounge? Cause, I'm sorry, dancing in a burlesque show in LA does not a celebrity make you.

I loved at the end that she was all, "My daughter gets to know that her mommy is a singer", or whatever she said. I was like, no, your daughter gets to know that her mommy is a trashy burlesque dancer who essentially sells her body for 10 minutes of fame and a mild amount of money. Which is fine if that works for you, but call a spade a spade, please.

I think they picked Asia because Melissa and Chelsea actually have a better shot at making actual careers as singers. Asia is a *performer* - mucyh like a stripper is :p Can you believe they are doing a second season? How many strippers do they need behind Nicole when she sings?

That was the only consolation I found in the other two "losing" - at least now they can try to embark on real careers. Even though I watched the show, I still find the whole premise of the Pussycat Dolls laughable. Asia will fit right in.

Maybe the Pussycat Dolls will be like Menudo where members come and go. I'm guessing that some of the "backup" PCD are wanting to leave?

I liked Asia. I didn't think she was the best person to win, but I thought she was a nice person. They really made Melissa out to be a huge bitch last night. Honestly, I thought they could choose Chelsea, just because she was the underdog.

I liked Asia as well and am actually happy she won. I wouldn't have been disappointed or surprised had Melissa won either. Chelsea did have a great voice, but definitely not PCD material. And I disagree, Melissa made herself out to be a bitch last night. The comment about her daughter was totally out of line and the fact that they were laughing at her pronunciation of "ask" was demeaning. I mean really, correct her if you're so inclined, but don't poke fun. Chelsea was an ass for that as well, when Asia was the one trying to help her with her dance last week.

Also, I think the most raunch thing about the Pussycat Dolls is their name, at least as far as the musical group is concerned. I don't own their CD, not would I call myself a fan, but I don't think they're strippers or anything close to it. They're certainly no worst than many other performers out there.

I also think for an 18 year old single parent to follow her dream is a big deal. Whether we agree with the path or not, she's attempting to make a better life for her daughter, who she seems committed to and you can't fault her for that. I think she worked it out last night, btw.

One last thing....I got tired of hearing Melissa complain and worry about what her parents were gonna think. Really, why are you there? It's the Pussycat Dolls. Did you not know what you were signing up for?

Well, as a former single mother, I don't think she's making a better life for her child, if her new life is now going to include heavy rehearsal, touring, and performance time. There might be more dollar signs on her paycheck, but this is something she's doing for herself, not so much for her daughter.

I do agree about Melissa's complaining though - I always get sick of girls on reality tv shows complaining about what their parents will think. Take ANTM, for example, when the girls freak out about the nude scenes. Yawn. If you have any qualms about what your parents will think, why are you putting yourself on television?

Ugh. I was shocked and disappointed at the results as well. Although, I do agree with everyone that said that Chelsea and Melissa would most likely have better careers outside of PCD. I just was bummed because if I ever wanted to see PCD in concert, I would NEVER want to watch Asia perform. She really does look like a drag queen up there performing. To me, she is not sexy at all. I hate how she talks and how she sings (not that you have to do either to be a PCD backup singer  ). She never enunciates a word when singing because I don't think she can pronounce half of them.

I think a few things went into the decision to pick Asia. Her look (her ethnicity helped to complement the PCD's); her dancing ability; and the shock factor for reality tv. Definately the singing was never part of the decision.

TOTALLY AGREE! I really thought they wouldn't pick her because she has a daughter and it would interfere with her ability to put 100% into the PCD job. As for her comment, I think she is too young to realize the impact that her absence will have on her very young daughter. It will be huge. A daughter needs her mom to be there for her. Can she do that working for the PCD's? Most likely not, unless they allow the daughter to go on tour with her which I highly doubt.

Regarding Melissa, I just think that Asia is much more ethnic than Melissa is. I came into the show mid-season and don't remember seeing much about her family. What ethnicity is she? She looks caucasian. I still totally think they picked Asia for her look rather than her talent as I thought the other two girls were much more talented.

I did love this show. I enjoyed seeing the girls sing and dance. It was fun and I'm excited to see next season.

Wow. This conversation is getting kind of ugly. I believe Melissa is Filipino, but I don't think it had anything to do with race/ethnicity but rather the "she's got a star quality to her". They've been saying it for weeks and I just wish they would've focused on "star quality" instead of singing and dancing if it came down to that. I think they wasted a good hour of the show focusing on how badly Chelsea dances (although I thought she did pretty well) when in the end, it didn't really matter.

:o Oops. Sorry I even brought the ethnicity thing up. I didn't mean any harm in it. I just noticed that when she was dancing with the PCD's at the end, she had a unique look whereas I don't think that Melissa or Chelsea would have complimented the group. She complimented the group in a "good" way.

No worries DillyDally.
I'm sorry if anyone was offended by my comment. I wasn't trying to say it was a bad thing. It's just, like you said, we couldn't understand why they picked her (given the other choices) until we saw her perform with the whole group. Then it kinda made more sense.

Is there really going to be a season 2???

I was really hoping that Melissa would have won over Asia. That being said I think Melissa is better off singing on her own and getting a record deal.

So how was it, have you gone yet?

Some bigwig thwarted our plans and tickets went to his daughter instead. :(
