I am trying to get started on my list of to do's before my second baby comes. Today was very productive, I did my DD"s entire big girls room, with only a few final touches left. Here is my ever growing list.

Big girl room
*hook and eye on closet door
*get roll down blinds
* hang pictures (4)
*get baby gate to screw into door frame

Baby's room
*clean out closet
*clean out stuff that doesn't stay in room
*get roll down blinds
*put together crib
*organize gender neutral clothes in closet
*make bed

*organize hall closet

Bathroom
*empty all drawers
*organize
*organize bath toys

Play room
*put up thingy to put stuffed toys in

My room
*Go through clothes and try to organize maternity clothes that were borrowed to give back
*Go through clothes to give to charity

Kitchen
*Go through spices to get rid of old ones

Basement
*Go through shelves to donate
*go through scrapbooking stuff to organize

That's it for now.....I am sure I will think of more later....:D

For me, its definitely organizing the hundreds and hundreds of recipes that I have into a comprehensive collection of some kind. Ditto my drawer of ziplock baggies full of pictures dating back 10 years and forward. :o I really want to get those items done before baby arrives. Don't know why its bugging me so much now!

For me, in addition to making the nursery ready, it was getting staples for the house...toilet paper, paper towels, cleaning supplies, pet supplies, dry goods, etc. I also went to Dream Dinners and prepared 40 servings of gourmet frozen meals - it only took me an hour and now we have plenty of stuff to eat!

I would totally recommend making some casseroles and put them in the freezer. I also cooked a bunch of chicken breasts on my George Foreman grill and then cut them into strips and froze them (cheaper then buying the grilled chicken strips and not hard to do!). They work great on top of pasta w/olive oil and salads which are both easy to throw together meals. I also browned several pounds of hamburger and froze them to make dinner prep easy. I'll definitely be doing the same thing before this baby is born ;)

Also like the idea of storing up on household staples, don't forget pet food if you have pets! And laundry detergent since Lord knows how much laundry you'll be doing. :D

Good luck!

Aside from the nursery and things for DS, I'm focusing on the house, food, and DD.

I'm trying to everything scrubbed and clean and then keeping it that way so I won't have a lot of cleaning to do once DS is here. We're going grocery shopping tomorrow and stocking up on doubles of all fridge, freezer, and pantry staples so no last minute trips to the store should be needed. I'm also trying (trying being the key word ;) ) to keep up with DD's laundry and supplies for preschool (lunches, extra clothes, etc) so DH won't be confused when they're left to fend for themselves.
