I'm so sorry if this has already been posted. I did a search and didn't find anything. But if there is a thread can you please direct me there?

DD will be 9 months for Easter. I was wondering if anyone had some ideas to put in a baby's Easter basket.

DD was 4 months for her first Easter. We just filled it with the grass and got her a pkg of spring-y onesies and a soft stuffed animal.

We're not big on Easter baskets so we only do something small. Now that she's 3 she'll probably get an Easter coloring book and a new dress.

Maybe bubbles? I know SHE won't be able to use them probably but maybe you could do them for her - and it's a spring-like thing....

You might want to look up some of the old threads from Christmas time that included ideas for stocking stuffers, as many of those stocking stuffer ideas would be applicable for Easter baskets too.

My DD is 3 years old and I am planning to put the following in her basket:

Easter-related book
Sidewalk chalk (I found some egg-shaped ones)
Bubbles
Pair of new sunglasses
One candy/chocolate item (probably M&M's - her favorite)
New CD for the car
New toothbrush and toothpaste

Other ideas:

Hair accessories
Bath toys
Dress-up jewelry
Rabbit ears
Markers, crayons, paint, other art supplies

Technically the Jumperoo I bought for Tristan last month was his Easter present. But we still want to do a special basket for him this year.

I am trying to find a basket with an embroidered liner (with his name on it) that we can use throughout his childhood. I have seen the one at PBK but I am looking for something a little different.

In the basket we will be putting:

Books. The one thing we have totally neglected to buy him are books. He has a couple but we are both big readers and are going to choose a few of our childhood favorites to buy him.

Clothes. I just love having an excuse to buy him more clothes!

Money. My mom always used to fold up dollar bills and put them in our baskets. I will do the same for him and then just put the money in his piggy bank.

A new toy. Just something fun for him to play with.

A DVD. We watched Peter Pan on our first date (yeah, we're dorks) so we are buying the DVD to add to Tristan's Disney collection

That's it. He will only be 6 months old so it is more for me than for him.

We're not going to do an Easter basket ourselves because DS is more than spoiled by the grandparents, it's ridiculous. I all ready have stuff to put on garage sale, and he's only 5 months! (eek!)

The one thing I *do* want to get him for Easter is a onsie or shirt that says "Baby's First Easter" or "Happy Easter." However, I haven't found a single one! I found a few bibs, but nothing else except for dress clothes.

Midwesterngal- Have you checked at Babies R Us? They usually have those holiday onesies.

We bought DS and my two nieces little felt Easter Bags from Target last month. We are going to get those eggs (the ones which Medako mentioned) for the two infants, some infant cookies, socks, hair bows for the girl, and little Easter bunnies. For my toddler niece we will get some Chocolate, hair bows, and a little doll. Nothing exciting, but it will be fun nonetheless.

I got DS this basket from BPK (exactly like the one on the right, except it says "Grady", of course):

I still need more ideas, but I want to find a bunny that is a developmental toy. He just loves the different little toys with crinkly parts and stuff like that.

He also LOVES books, so I plan on finding him a couple of small board books (maybe with ducks or bunnies in the story).

I might get him some Burt's Bees baby bath stuff too because he loves baths and takes one every night as part of his bedtime routine. I would probably be more excited about it than him, but he would still enjoy it.

I think we'll probably get DD:

A book of some sort - preferrably about a bunny or Easter in general
A spring outfit
A DVD
Maybe some Gerber puffs if she's still into them

I'll more than likely hit up Target and just start throwing things into the cart. DH already knows not to say anything about what I buy for holidays. :D

I'm considering the FP Laugh & Learn™ Learning Bunny™ (http://www.fisher-price.com/fp.aspx?e=detail&pcat=bulnl&pid=37169&st=2341) for DD, even though I already bought her a plushie.

Sophia: Thanks! That would be perfect! He would be too little for it for a couple months, but that's OK. I am going to try to find it somewhere.

I saw it at Target a few days ago. :)

FWIW, DD has the Laugh and Learn Puppy (got it as a birth present) and she LOVES it!! I seriously think it's one of the only toys she's had consistent interest in.

Yeah, I just went to look for the Laugh and Learn Bunny yesterday and saw a sign where it had been on the shelf. It said it had been recalled and there were no new ones there, so I think it is still getting worked out. Although maybe another store would have the new ones?

I did get two things for his basket yesterday though - the board book "The Runaway Bunny" (a classic) and a really soft stuffed bunny that says "Baby's First Easter". It's a start at least!

How long ago did it get recalled?

rosa727

I'm not sure - it just said it was recalling those manufactured before January 2007. So I guess that implies that there are some made after that which are safe. I'd still like to find it!

I just found this (http://www.cpsc.gov/cpscpub/prerel/prhtml07/07105.html) on the CPSP website:

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
February 15, 2007
Release #07-105

Hazard: The pink pompom nose can detach, posing a choking hazard to young children.

Incidents/Injuries: None reported.

Description: This recall involves the Laugh and Learn Learning Bunny that measures about 10-inches tall. The yellow bunny with one green and one orange ear has musical and counting sound effects. The words, “Laugh and Learn” are printed on the bunny’s shirt. Product numbers involved in the recall are: K0468, K2960, K2961, K2962, K2963, K2964, K2965, K3440, K6898, K7884, L0327, and K5862. The product numbers are located on the fabric tag sewn to the body of the bunny. Only bunnies with three dimensional pompom noses are included in this recall. Bunnies with flat or embroidered noses are not subject to this recall.

I guess the ones I saw at Target a few days ago were the new ones.

Update:

I went to Target today and saw BOTH versions of the FP Learning Bunny. I brought it to an employee's attention that they had the old/recalled ones out, and showed the difference with the new one. We bought one of the new ones.

In the regular toy section they had the old ones, with a recall sign right by them. (!?!?!) Those have a spherical fabric nose that is sewn on--if you look closely you can see the way it's stiched on rather loosely.

In the Easter section they had the new version. These have an embroidered nose. This is what the new bunny/packaging looks like. I also took a close up of the face so you can see the new nose.

Sophia: Thanks! Hopefully I can get the new one at Target. It looks very cute, and I think DS would love it!
