Premieres on Wednesday, March 7th.

Synopsis of the show:

From executive producers David E. Kelley, Jason Katims and Jonathan Pontell comes THE WEDDING BELLS, a romantic dramedy about a family-owned wedding planning business dedicated to helping its clients live happily ever after... or at least until they get to the parking lot.

The BELL sisters, ANNIE (KaDee Strickland), JANE (Teri Polo) and SAMMY (Sarah Jones), inherited The Wedding Palace after their parents’ divorce. Now they must navigate the endless complications of planning elaborate weddings while trying to figure out where they stand in their own complicated love lives.

From dealing with high-maintenance Bridezillas and their families to calming wedding-day jitters, the trio of planners and their loyal staff do their utmost to make sure that every bride’s special day is a dream-come-true, as they attempt to take their burgeoning company from wedding emporium to wedding empire.

more info about the show can be found on the Fox website. (http://www.fox.com/weddingbells/)

I plan to watch this. I'm such a wedding freak and this seems to fit the bill when I need something totally non-challenging and fun to watch (the TV equivalent of eating Doritoes).

I'll watch. I'm not sure if it looks like the kind of show that has lasting power though.

It looked like it could be interesting until I realized Jason Katims was one of the writers/producers - he has a really bad habit of messing up good things.

Now I see why Kadee Strickland was cast - she married Jason Behr - who was mad tight with Jason Katims on Roswell (the 2nd show JK messed up).

Maybe Darth Katims has learned his lesson this time... maybe David E. Kelly will keep him in line.

phoenics, what else has Jason Katims done?

There was My So Called Life I believe - whatever show that Claire Danes was the star of. The first season was great and then the storyline fell into soap opera hell - he's got a bad habit of doing that, lol. Same crap on Roswell. I had a few backstage connections for that show and got to see some of the scripts that got cut for the last season (horrible!). Totally messed with the mythology of the show - it was like he just didn't understand his audience at all... kept crapping on them for whatever reason. It took me a long time to get over what happened to Roswell.

I'm hoping David E. Kelly will rein him in - cause I just watched the opening scenes of this show and it looks good.

Omgosh - what the hell is Heather Tom doing in such a crappy role?

I really enjoyed it. Felt kinda funny sitting on the couch alone laughing out loud. It sucks that they are going to move it to Friday though. I liked having it on during the week.

My So Called Life only had one season. It was cancelled and NOT because it wasn't good...IMO. Stupid network didn't appreciate it. The writing was superb! I was devestated when it was cancelled. I own all 19 episode on VHS.:p
END HIJACK

I watched the show last night. Thought it was cute but the whole concept of their business it just weird to me. The show has a death time slot though...Friday night's...don't think it will last long.

Thank goodness I have TIVO and can watch it whenever I want. That is a bad time slot, but I guess someone has to be in it, right?

I thought Delta Burke looked great. Guess that's what plastic surgery will do for ya. They have some impressive actors/actresses guest starring, too.

I'll keep watching, it's cute.

I couldn't really watch past the first 10 minutes. So ridiculous! I need ~some~ sort of believeability to watch a show! What immediately comes to mind (and what made me turn this show off) was when one of the women went into the chef and berated him for not making some sort of 'dip' with shellfish because the clients were allergic. The chef just ignored her. Yeah, right, that would really happen. He'd just go on creating whatever he wanted for the wedding menus. Brides aren't particular or anything.

It also bothered me that it seemed like the three 'sisters' or whatever they are, were making fun of their African-American employee. When she came in and said her line, (about each bride having a 'special, special day' then, immediately, there were closeups of all three women rolling their eyes behind the employee's back. Not funny.

Oh come on. It didn't have anything to do with her race.

You can roll your eyes all you want, but there was no reason to bring up her race. So if you had a point, it was pretty much lost when you brought up something irrelevant.

i didnt like how some of the shots were done with a freehand camera (sorry i dont know the technical lingo)...but the shot was all shakey, like it was supposed to be "real view" or something - god that was nauseating!

Then I missed your point by a country mile, too.

It was a cute show. It will be good to watch now since everything else is in re-runs.

Who is the actress that plays the "runaway bride"? It's really bothering me that I can't place her.

ETA~ OK, I figured it out. She was in Grease 2. I feel like she was on something when she was a little girl, too, thought and I can't figure out what.

You can roll your eyes all you want, but there was no reason to bring up her race. So if you had a point, it was pretty much lost when you brought up something irrelevant.

I think the point was probably that the character is stereotypical - it's a negative stereotype that as a black woman I must admit I'm getting tired of seeing - because it's EVERYWHERE.

I think some don't notice it because well, they don't identify and it's just for fun, right? And it could have been a non-black character acting the same way - but when you see that SAME stereotyped black woman character as comic relief on nearly every tv show that you see a black woman character on, it does get annoying. They may as well have painted her in blackface - yes, that sounds harsh, but it's the truth.

It'd be different if I could count the number of black female characters on more than two hands on the major network shows (other than CW). But since I can't, and so many fall into that stereotype - well...

I see - I think - nylons' point. I had a brief moment of discomfort when I saw that too.

I still enjoyed the show though.

I did watch them all but the only reason was because I used my Tivo. I wouldn't normally watch TV on a friday so I record it. It's really not a great show anyway. Not sure if I will finish watching or not.

Aw bummer! I think it's cute.

I think some don't notice it because well, they don't identify and it's just for fun, right?

She wasn't made fun of because she was black and absolutely nothing she said was stereotypical. She was making fun of how stupid she thinks their happy little bride idea is. Saying that she's a stereotype is reaching, in my opinion. She was making fun of them.

If I were you I'd be more offended about shows like Maury Povich that foster stereotypes with people claiming to be real. That seems much worse.
