So I'm 32 weeks now and we didn't find out the gender of the baby. This is our second, and with DD we didn't find out either and it was a fabulous experience going to the hospital and going through labor to have a nice surprise "It's a girl!" at the end.

So we're doing the same thing again, but I just can't help myself for doing the "obsessing" over the gender thing(hey - what else do we have to do these days? ).

So at the 20 week ultrasound we told the technician we didn't want to know. At some point I asked her "Can you tell? I don't want to know, but do you know the gender?" and she said yes. Then she volunteered that it was definitely one or the other. (Huh?) Meaning, she knew it was non-ambiguous. (HUH?). Then after I looked confused she said she had one case where she told them it was a girl, then at a later ultrasound she got a little worried because it seemed odd, and then the baby was born the next week and actually had a scrotum sack and a labia. So it was an ambiguous gender. A very sad story. She didn't know what happened to the couple or their baby (ie, what they decided to do).

Then after the technician did all her measurements, she turned the monitor around and showed us our baby, at one point saying "I'm staying over here on this side since you don't want to know the gender".

SO.....based on this, do you think it might be a boy or a girl???? My girlfriend says because of the technicians comments that she thinks its definitely a boy. Should I think the same???

thanks for helping me obsess!!!

I think it could go either way. With a boy you have the obvious equipment, but with a girl you don't have just nothing, but three very visible lines.

I vote boy.

I've always heard that the 3 lines are harder to be as sure about versus the whole "parts" for boys. Like, if it's a boy, it's a BOY but if it's a girl. . . you might still have a boy.

Ditto everyone else. It sounds like a boy.
