Driving Down the OR & CA Pacific Coast

I tried searching for a thread but couldnt find one. I apologize if this is a repeat.

Has anyone done a drive starting in OR & ending in southern CA?

I am curious to know stops, ideas and things to do. DH & I might be planning a trip end of the yr early next year.

There was a really good thread by another CCer who did a trip down the Oregon coast. I remember posting information in it and she did a recap with photos. I've searched and searched and can't find it, but I'll see if I can keep looking for you! :)

As far as hotels go, I would recommend Stephanie Inn (http://www.stephanie-inn.com/welcome.asp)in Cannon Beach -- must get an ocean-side room, though -- and Channel House (http://www.channelhouse.com/) in Depoe Bay.

For the N. Ca coast, we used to vacation at Patrick's Point State Park and Redwood Nat'l & State Parks. This site has some great pics of Redwood. http://www.shannontech.com/ParkVision/Redwood/Redwood.html
