Has anyone noticed any similarities between your own pregnancy and your mothers??
My Mother had a very easy pregnancy and labor with both me and my brother (no M/S, high pain tolerance during labor...no need for epidural)
Just wondering if any of you had very similar experiences to your mother's or very different?

Some similarities. My parents went thru IF with me, which we did as well. Not much m/s with either of us. We both had fast deliveries. Big difference was that I had pre-e, which my mom did not have. I also had a much smaller baby that she did.

My mom told me she didn't have morning sickness. I'm around 6 weeks now and I feel fine so far.

There is this thread as well: Was your labor & delivery similar to your mother's? (http://www.constantchatter.com/forum/showthread.php?t=2023&highlight=mom+labor)
My mom never really discussed her experiences during pregnancy but our L&D was nearly identical which is weird because the complication is fairly uncommon. My mom labored with my brother for 96 hours (she insists active labor) because her cervix wouldn't dilate all the way. My cervix was stuck at 9.5 cm (10 is fully dilated) and when my contractions were weakening I opted for a c-section. My brother was finally taken by forceps w/ my mom after they put her under completely. What a traumatic birth experience!

Mine was totally different. My mom was sick with all three of us and overdue by 2 weeks with all three of us. She hated being pregnant. I loved being pregnant and was only nauseas in the afternoons until 11w (no throwing up). I just had bad acid reflux. I was induced at 39w but was already in early labor at the time.

No similarities here either.
My mother was sick the entire 9 months with me & my 2 younger brothers. I got MS but it only lasted until week 17 or so... She had me 2 weeks late, my middle brother 6 weeks early and my youngest brother on time. I had my DS 2 days late. She was in labor with me for 25 1/2 hours and I was in labor with my DS for 13 hours (from the time we checked into the hospital at 5cm's dialated until he was born - if you count me getting to the 5cm's it's a lot longer than that)... And my DS was a lot bigger than me or my brothers were (the biggest one was my youngest brother at 7lbs2oz - My DS was 8lbs12oz)

No similarities here. She had no morning sickness with any of her pregnancies, I had to take medication just to function. Her labors were all very quick, the longest being 6 hours. Mine was normal at about 18 hours. She only pushed for about 20 mins for each delivery, I pushed for 3 hours. My mom had large babies (over 9lbs) with me being the only exception at 7lbs 6oz, but I was also 3 weeks early. My DD weighed in at 7lbs 7oz. I was terrified of having a 9lb baby so I was thankful for that difference!

My mom & I both had worse morning sickness when pregnant with girls than when pregnant with boys.

Mom and I had different experiences - she never had m/s - I had it for 14 weeks. I had to have a cerclage due to an incompetent cervix - she didn't. She had pre-eclampsia and went into labor 3 weeks early. She had to have a c-section b/c my brother's head wouldn't fit and her blood pressure kept going up. I had to be induced after 40 weeks and had a vaginal delivery with maybe 10 minutes of pushing.
I really thought I would end up having to have a c-section b/c my mom had one. I'm happy to report that it wasn't the case.

Not really....
I had a mild case of m/s (compared to some people) only in my first trimester, my mom had it terribly bad her entire pregnancy.
She did stay small with me and I'm small with my son (19lbs total gain, my high was 21 and now at 37 weeks I'm losing).
Her labor was super short (when I told her they want him out in 18 hours of water breaking, she said who goes that long......hahaha, she was only 5 hours total labor and a few pushes like 3, but I contribute that to being induced as well) and easy, hopefully soon we'll find out what mine is like. But I will say she carried me until 42 weeks and had to be induced, I'm 37 weeks and I dont see me lasting much longer, agreed upon by the OB.
I was 7lbs 6 oz @ 42 weeks, as of 34 weeks he was 5 lbs 5 oz....hopefully that means about the same size baby if not a tad smaller.

My mother had 6 pgs and she says they were all different. So I have no idea what to compare it to. Some of them, she had bad m/s, others she was fine. 2 of us were late, my bro was a preemie. For 4 of us, she didn't gain much weight and lost it all easily. For the other 2, she gained upwards of 50 pounds. So who knows??
My mom was pregnant four times (all girls) and never really had much morning sickness. I am 15 weeks with my first and haven't really had MS either. My mom had a terrible time gaining wait during pregnancy despite not being sick. I'm really not far enough along to have gained much weight yet, but so far I'm down a little. I'm interested to see if our labors and deliveries are similar.
