I'm interested in the Bissell "Little Green Portable Deep Cleaner" and the Dirt Devil "Spot Scrubber"?

I have company coming over and DH has been sweating all over our club chair in the heat and I don't want a funky smell coming up while my ILs are here...

Anyone use either of those or have some advice for a "I need to do it now and fairly inexpensively" alternative?

TIA!

Amber

I have the bissel portable one and it is a waste of money. I have not found it to get any real stain or smell out of anything...it does ok if you JUST spilled a can of pop or something along those lines.

I have the little green machine and it literally saved our truck seats. We bought it used (which I will NEVER do again after this incident) and it had some serious stains. The dirty tank looked like I poured pepsi in it! That's how much crap was in the seats. The seats came out so good! Highly recommend it!

I have the little green machine as well, and I like it, it has worked well for us. I have spot cleaned the carpet with it and have cleaned our couches a couple of times.

Make sure that whatever one you decided to buy is NOT cordless. My brother bought one (Not sure of the brand but think it was bissel too) and it ran on battery power, however the battery would only last like 10 minutes and then would need to be charged again.

Thanks for all the "real world" epxerience stories. They mirror pretty much what I see on the review pages at Target/WalMart and Epinions...

I found a good price on the little Bissell and so that's what I'm going to try out.

Thanks for the tips Ladies!

Thanks to you also ellidew!

Just a follow up for anyone lurking and wondering also (chances are slim, but it seems like a good idea)... I *did* get the latest model Bissell Little Green, without the heater but WITH the "turbo brush" (which it says now comes standard)... Anyway, it was the best $$ I've spent lately and worked wonders on my furniture issues.

The "turbo brush" really was not that fabulous, but on a bigger job might be a time saver... I got better results with the regular brush/suction head and elbow grease... the chairs only took about 20minutes from start to finish!

Thanks again for offering me your experiences!
