Has anyone else noticed that more and more celebrities are getting this little star tattoo on the inside of their wrists? Does it mean something?

Lindsay Lohan (and Nicole Ritchie I think) has one too, but I can't find pics.

In my high school, this meant Straight Edge but I can clearly say that is not what this is meaning in Hollywood if Lindsey Lohan and Nicole Ritchie has it! Not sure!

I was thinking straight edge too Summer. Hmm I have no idea, it must mean something pretty important if so many stars are getting in in such a visible place.

"Straight edge" means you don't smoke, do drungs, drink etc. Basically your body is pure.
Maybe they need just need a little reminder that they're a star :p

HAH, nic! I have a couple friends with Star tattoos (not on the wrist though) and as Mel said, it meant their bodies were pure: no drinking, smoking, drugs, etc although all of my friends like this look like punk rockers.

Weird, I have the same one on my ankle that I got 4 years ago. I got it because I thought it was cute. I wonder what it means. hmmmmm

It's not the straight edge symbol. That is a large X with an s on one side and an e on the other. sXe It seems awfully permanent for a Hollywood trend. I guess they will just get it removed when they are sick of it.

I know tons of staright edge kids, but I haven't seen the star tattoo. their thing is 3 x's. XXX And when they go to shows, they put x's on the front of their hands..... I have no idea what the stars mean.... Maybe some new celebrity religion!?

I found this on a Star Tatto Design Guide (http://www.tattoojohnny.com/star-tattoo-designs.asp ):
The Pentacle
Most popular as a design that symbolizes witchcraft, this particular emblem has experienced a real revival over the last two decades. To witches, warlocks, and other pagans across the globe, the five-pointed star represents the quest after Divine Knowledge, feminine energy, and the secrets of life. The number 5 itself is important here, for with this particular icon there is a special meaning for each of the angles. The angles represent each of the five elements: earth, air, water, fire, and spirit. It is interesting to note that the 5-pointed design is almost only found in organic life forms such as flowers, starfish, etc.

I am a Brazilian like Gisele. She is one of our biggest celebrities over there. I know what the meaning of her tattoo is, but I am not sure everyone else has the same meaning.
Gisele tells that in the first days she was in New York, she looked at the sky to make wishes to shooting stars and she got frustrated when she found out she couldn't see the stars among the skyscrapers of New York. Gisele used to do that in her home town, Horizontina. In the next day she got her left wrist tattooed with a small star. "Then I can make wishes looking at my arm".
:D

Okay, but those star tatoos aren't pentacles. Pentacles look like a star with a circle around it.

I* really don't have anything to add. Just subscribing because I am very curious to see if anyone can figure it out. Seems odd that so many celebrities would have the same tatoo.
