godsgift - Congratulations! She is just beautiful! How is CJ adjusting to his new little sister?

godsgift77
11-26-2007, 11:24 AM
Thanks! :D He's taking it (suprisingly) well. We call him "Security" because everytime she makes a peep, he comes running! He tells us she needs milk or a diapee. He kisses her all the time - in fact we had to tell him to take it easy! LOL! I am hoping this is not just a phase...

I'm feeling pretty good. Just exhausted. Who knew two kids would be such a change?? Thankfully CJ is taking it like a champ and not doing any of what other people told me he would! :D

Thanks for all the compliments! We are soooo in love!

:D Thanks ladies!!! Who else was expecting? This thread has been so baren since our little ones have gotten older...

Kanga

Ummm, let's see. I'm really bad at this sort of thing. Lml has had her baby, successfully at home like she had planned but I don't think she's stopped in here. DianeCourt and lexylou should have had their babies by now I think, but they've cancelled their acct's. I can't keep up on Livejournal so I don't know if they've posted anything there or not. That's all I can remember off the top of my head but I was positive there was more. Stupid mommy brain:rolleyes::p

I don't think I've posted an update on us lately. Daytona has been talking up a storm lately, though she still only speaks in one word sentences with the exception of "No, MINE!" Poor Cami can't do anything right these days as Daytona's word of the month is 'no'. Even though she's a little possessive of her things, she's still a really good big sister and loves her death. A little too much at times but she means well. Other than sharing toys we had 0 jealousy issues which is awesome.

I volunteered to watch a friend's baby when she goes back to work which I'm a little nervous about watching 3 kids by myself, but it's only for 30 or so hours a week.

Cami is so mobile it isn't even funny. It's amazing watching 2 kids that were raised nearly identical be so different. She's been full on crawling for awhile, pulls up, and stands unassisted for a second or two. I think she may be walking in the next month or two which I'm not sure I'm ready for just yet. She says 'mamamamamama" all day long but no dada yet. Dh is a little sad, but heck Daytona was 20 months or so before I finally got a "Mommy" so I think it's fair:D

I was going to post recent photos but I have 4 extra hands at the keyboard so I'll get those later during naptime.

:D Thanks ladies!!! Who else was expecting? This thread has been so baren since our little ones have gotten older...I'm 29 weeks, 2 days today... 4 days passed when Jackie was born!! Except for MAJOR back issues, I'm doing pretty well. Well my back and my 2 months of bronchitis! LOL

Seth is doing FABULOUSLY!!! He's talking like crazy and counting and stuff. He'll be going to pre school in Sept for 2 full days and we're thinking of singing him up for camp this summer for 2 1/2 days as well.

Jackie just turned 4 and she's doing beautifully as well!

My C/S will be Feb 15 at 8 am, 9 1/2 weeks to go!

hi everyone! my family and i just wanted to say

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL OF YOU! may everyone have a wonderful holiday full of love and memories. i miss you all. i know how busy it is for everyone this time of year. maybe we can all give updates on what everyone's been up to after the holidays.

EJM

Merry Christmas to those who celebrate!! :D

I'm 38 weeks as of today, and hoping DS plans to make an appearance very soon. Anytime after the 27th when our holiday company departs would be perfect! :) He's super low, which DD never was which I'm hoping means a short labor. ;)

mcl
12-24-2007, 10:58 AM
ejm--i didn't know you were that close. what a wonderful christmas present for your family. i do hope that your labor is short. my close friend just had her second baby and her labor from start to finish was 2 hours 10 minutes compared to 14 hours the first time. she was induced for both.

godsgift77
12-24-2007, 11:08 AM
Merry Christmas!!!!

Ejm I didnt know you were that close either! Here's to a quick and easy labor! :)

What did you all get your dc's for Christmas?

CJ got a folding ball pit that has a slide attached... I can't find an online pic of it but i'll take a pic of it when we put it together tonight. We also got him a bead maze and a collapseable tunnel. His grand parents got him a motorized 4-wheeler (which freaks me out), Elmo DVDs and a ton of clothes.

Cam is too young to really understand it but we got her a crib toy and her grandparents got her some other toys as well...

Kanga

I'm working on it, it's just that I can't post with the new username yet so everything is in a word doc until I can. IIRC you have to have 10 posts before you can post in the group threads and sine I started a new username, it has 0. Also, Katy et all have to approve new memberships before they can post. I pm'd her about it and she said after all the upgrades are done, she'll fix it. So in the meantime we're left with our separate threads.

I'm undecided, but i"m sure I'll join the new group. I'm a joiner.

Spending most of my time on LJ, and most of you are on my FL. Staying out of the drama on cc, but still dropping by to read the gossip page. I do enjoy the updates, and this is a great place to ask questions.

Hey, Question - What are y'all doing for carseats? I'm reading the carseat thread on the toddler page right now. Wondering if DS is outgrowing his Graco Comfortsport.

Hey, Question - What are y'all doing for carseats? I'm reading the carseat thread on the toddler page right now. Wondering if DS is outgrowing his Graco Comfortsport.

I was thinking that DS is getting long in the torso. If his growth slows, I'm hoping this will last until we have our next baby, then we'll use the Graco for the new baby.

01-07-2008, 02:08 PM
you know, i hadn't really thought of it. Kai has the graco comfort spot, it was first Kaimi's. now you got me wondering if i should get kai a new seat

Well I know how much work it takes and how busy life is with 2 kids!!

Kanga
01-07-2008, 04:46 PM
carseat - we have the evenflo triumph advance for both kids. We're going to try to find some way to budget in 2 regents when they outgrow these seats but I'm not sure we'll be able to afford them.

Eliezrah
01-07-2008, 05:31 PM
Seth is in Jackie's old Evenflo Triumph and she's in an Evenflo Generations. The difference between them is that Jackie's is a transitional booster. That means it has a 5 point harness from about 10lbs till 40 lbs and then it uses the car's seatbelt (like a booster) from 30-100 lbs. Since she's just about 40 lbs, we took the harness off her seat a few weeks ago (makes life easier on me since she'll be in the 3rd row and can almost always buckle herself in now). She'll stay in that and Seth will stay in the Triumph until Aaron is old enough to need the Triumph. Then Seth will move to the Generations (with the harness back in) and Jackie will then move to her regular booster full time (she also has a Graco highback booster that doesn't get attached to the car so it can be moved from car to car w/o a problem... they are for ages 3+ but we don't want her in it full time until we NEED her to be. She'll be over 4 1/2 when she's in it full time).

EJM
01-07-2008, 05:56 PM
Guess I missed all the drama, I rarely have time to catch up on CC these days and mostly stick to the family section.

Carseats: DD's still in her Boulevard and I'm almost positive well under the limits on both height and weight, guess I better check that. We actually just turned her FF last weekend to give her more leg room.

hmbay
01-07-2008, 09:06 PM
carseats--Alex is still in an Evenflo Triumph and I'm about to move Sabrina into Colin's old one. I moved Colin to a belt-positioning booster (no 5 point harness) just before he turned 4 so that we could fit all 3 carseats in the back seat of DH's truck (actually I think two triumphs would have fit but we didn't bother with it. We have the Evenflo Big Kid one I think it is.

ejm-happy due date! how you feeling?

EJM
01-08-2008, 07:27 AM
Thanks! I'm feeling very pregnant ;) Unlike last time with DD, I'm very uncomfortable and at some points each day downright miserable, so I'm hoping this show gets on the road very soon! :)

dragonfly_71
01-08-2008, 08:22 AM
carseat: Alex is in a Britax Marathon in my car and a Britax Roundabout in DH's car. It doesn't look like we would need to change them anytime soon. Alex is only about 27lbs right now and both of the car seats go to at least 40lbs, I think the Marathon goes even higher.

ejm - Hope you have a speedy and safe delivery! Can't wait to hear of your new arrival!

carseats - He is in a Roundabout in my car and the Truimph in DH truck. He is only about 34 inches and maybe 27 pounds, so nowhere near the limit yet. I figure by the time he does reach the limit, it will be time to move him to a booster.

Eliezrah

EJM, good luck and ELV. Hopefully it starts soon for you!!

godsgift77
01-08-2008, 01:32 PM
carseats CJ is in the Evenflow Triumph too. He's a big boy (31 lbs, 37 in) so hopefully he will stay in it until Cam is ready for it in Nov. when she's 1.

EJM Good Luck!!! I can so relate to being miserable the second time around. I was so miserable that dh volunteered to have a vasectomy! LOL! (and i'm taking him up on it!) :D

Drama What drama?? I guess i missed it too...

Albee Baby has some good prices on some of their boosters right now. One of the best deals is the EB booster with 5 point harness for more than 50% off:

http://www.albeebaby.com/coedbahibabo6.html

If you don't spend $100 you pay for shipping but when I played around with this it only charged me 4.95 for shipping to my zip so shipping should be reasonable for everyone else.

jh124
01-09-2008, 01:31 PM
Thanks Heather. That's a great price (esp since we need to buy two.) Consumer Reports ranks Eddie Bauer high back seats near the top.

hi everyone,

ejm--i can totally relate. hope you have an easy and safe delivery.

i've actually been put on maternity leave since the end of the year. i haven't posted much because i've had a lot on my mind. i had a bit of a scare. around the middle of december, i started feeling a lump on my right breast that i brought up to my obgyn's attention and she attributed it to just my mammary glands getting ready for milk production. anyhow, in days, it kept growing to about the size of an egg by the time i saw her again in 5 days. she sent me to a breast specialist who put me on antibiotics and drained my right breast but she couldn't really get a lot of fluids. she sent it for culture and it was negative for bacteria. anyhow to make a long story short, she gave me a week on antibiotics to see if it will decrease in size and it never did. in fact, it got bigger and more painful. i finally elected to have a breast biopsy done a week later and it was the most painful thing since she ended up extracting from five different areas. i was so sore and bruised. i found out last saturday that it's NOT breast cancer and so i am extremely happy. i've never appreciated health so much and i've never been so thankful to have a really bad infection. anyhow, that's what's been up with me. the breast specialist said that i have what's called GRANULOMATOUS MASTITIS. it's sort of rare but apparently, you can have it pregnant or not pregnant. i'm feeling a little better but still sore and bruised. thank God that i had lots of people praying for me and encouraging me.

i hope that everyone else is having uneventful pregnancies.

p.s. i braved the stores today with my toddler and sore right breast to get his toddler bed/mattress/beddings and toy organizer. pray for me that he loves his bed. he has a little over 2 months to get used to it.
