View Full Version : Intelligender Home Gender Prediction Test?

I stumbled upon this test on the Fertility Friend message boards. Here's the website:
www.intelligender.com
It's a home urine test that supposedly reveals an unborn baby's gender with 90% accuracy (after 10 weeks gestation). It only costs $42 including shipping. Exactly how the test works is not explained on the site, which is fishy to me. I'm wondering if anybody on CC has tried it and has a testimonial. Thanks!

this reminds me of that "drano" test that's supposed to reveal the baby's gender - you're supposed to pee on drano crystals and one color indicates girl, one color indicates boy. apparently it's extremely dangerous to pee on drano crystals, though, due to the chemical reaction...

their website looks very unprofessional to me...

Haven't heard about it, but if it's anything like the gender blood test (http://www.constantchatter.com/forum/showthread.php?t=23445), I'd be cautious.

I agree with you guys & I've heard about the inaccuracies with the blood test. But at $42, this one is significantly less expensive. I think it might be fun for entertainment purposes. I did a Google on it, and every testimony I could find on other message boards said it was right for them.

Tell R I say "yes!" You guys are going to find out at your u/s, right? You can be a good test case. ;)

I am totally suspicious of the test--seems like if there was a relatively accurate and easy way to deterime gender that early for $42, everyone would be doing it. But that said, I want it anyway, and I am not above wasting $42 on some joke of a test.

Sounds dubious to me...

Why not save your money and just wait a few weeks for something more reliable? If your insurance covers an ultrasound after week 14 or so, you can figure out the gender anyway.

I decided to take this test for fun and thought some ladies might be interested in an update. Here is my result:

Do I believe this? I don't know, but it was fun. We're not finding out the gender during any ultrasounds, so we'll wait until the baby is born for the "official" result. I really feel like we're destined to have two girls, but maybe this result makes sense.....this pregnancy has felt different than my first one. I've had much less morning sickness, and much more constipation! Here's the summary of all the prediction methods I've used:

Chinese Gender Prediction Chart: GIRL
Astrology: GIRL
IntelliGender: BOY

It seems like a waste for entertainment purposes. There are lots of free ways to predict gender that are just as accurate. I'm sure it will work for some people, though. They have a 50% chance of being right!

I guess I'm just a huge sucker that likes to waste my money.

I guess I'm just a huge sucker that likes to waste my moneyHow you spend your money is your own business. You were asking for opinions. There were a lot of lawsuits against a similar company.

Here's a thread on another family planning site about the same thing. Looks like 57% of the time it was right. 42% of the time it was wrong. http://forums.ovusoft.com/tm.asp?m=7815917&p=1&tmode=1 So it's better than 50/50 odds, but not much.

This is completely off topic, but after browsing that Ovusoft thread, I'm SO glad we don't have graphics/blinkies/pictures in our sigs like on WC. It's extremely distracting!

I am so inpatient when I am pregnant that I would have bought this. A good friend of mine was thinking about it and I told her to go for it!

DianeCourt: I will be curious to see if it is right for you. Thanks for trying it out.

LOL! I know! I usually turn the siggy option off when I log on. Some signatures are a whole page!

We obviously won't know for sure for another 6 months, but I'll try to remember to post our baby's gender in this thread for those of you that are curious.

I think it's fun! It's just like doing those games where you hold a chain over your arm etc etc..always fun to see if it's right. I also didn't find out my baby's sex before I gave birth and I would have bought this product just for fun!

Dianecourt - I think it's so fun I bought it too. People can say I wasted money all they want, but the fun in being pregnant is guessing the gender. Why not? It's only $38 with shipping (I think I bought it on sale). It says I'm having a boy, too. I can't wait to see if our tests were correct for scientific reasons. LOL! Good times.

I came across something like this and was wondering myself. I can't see what the pic is that you posted but I'm assuming it predicts a boy since you said things are diff this time and that would make sense. I'd love to do it but I'm way cheap!

I am bumping up this thread because I bought and just took this test and I am interested if we had any results from somebody who took it and then had the gender confirmed (birth, ultrasound) Anybody?? Oh mine says it will be a girl. Chinese calender says girl also. Intuition is on the blink :)

I have a cousin and a friend it was incorrect for. (gender confirmed by giving birth)

From what I read on another site, if it tells you "girl" it's supposedly pretty accurate, but if it tells you "boy" it could be right or wrong. Or I could be remembering backwards. It was a long time ago (I was less than 20 weeks pg when I read about it, and my baby is now 1 year old).

Both of the people who I knew that took it were told girl and both had boys.

I know it ended up being wrong for the person who started this thread.
If you order one of these, let us know the results :)

My sister did the test and it told her a girl. She ended up having a boy two weeks ago.

i bought one for my second pregnancy. I took it at around 12 weeks. It told me boy.....then it was confirmed by ultrasound that it was a boy.

So for me it was correct.

tgoody in post #21 took it, it said boy and she had a boy.

I hope everyone reading this understands that if the test is right half the time, that means it is utterly useless....
