View Full Version : Anyone using a homeschool preschool curriculum of some sort?
Just wondering if anyone is using a homeschool preschool curriculum? Also, what does your day consist of? I'm hoping to add more routine to our chaos at home and hoping that a curriculum of some sort might help.

There was a thread on this recently: Home Preschool Curriculum (http://www.constantchatter.com/forum/showthread.php?t=28581&highlight=homeschool+preschool)

I think that having a routine helps. Iknow that we do much better if we have a schedule vs 'floating through' the day waiting for daddy to come home.
Our week *should* generally go something like this .
wake up around 6-6:30 get dressed eat around 7:30 then it's hair, teeth brushing, bed making and general tiding from morning play and we're out the door by 8:30 to take my oldest to school. then MOndays we hit story time at the library that last about an hour, we get home have a snack. (usually around 10:30) then we do a paper craft, (could just be crayons or a 'real craft' then we pile in the car to go get my oldest. come home have lunch go take naps. The kids usually wake up around 2:30-3:00 and then we go outside for an hour or so and then have another snack. around 4:00 I pop in video and start preparing dinner. we eat dinner around 5:30 the kids help me set the table and if it's got some prep I let them help me. after dinner my kids play for about 20 -30 minutes *(while I clean the kitchen up) then it's into the bathtub we have a longish bath 30 or so minutes and then stories meds and bed for them. (they are in bed by 7:0- 8:00)
I try to do 'real' crafts with them about 3 days a week.
we do baking some days
while the little ones nap I do 'workbook' type activities with the the older ones.
The kumon workbooks (target) are really good for basic skills, cutting, coloring, couting etc.
mamax2: Thank you! I didn't see that thread!
firefly: Thank you! Since I had my second child last spring, I just can't seem to get a good routine going anymore. Reading through you routine makes it seem very easy and that was very helpful.
For art projects, a website that I've found helpful is
http://www.childcareland.com/artproject.html
The current topic on teeth sounds a little odd, but often times there are cute art projects that are holiday related. You can get on her e-mail list and she'll e-mail a different art project each day.
