Doesn't it seem weird that we haven't seen any pics of Britney or Kevin holding their baby, it almost seems like they got bored with the idea. She is out sunbathing and reading magazines and Kevin is off playing basketball.

Now I guess these are just a few snapshots from some paparazzi, so we have no idea what is going on inside of the house. But I just like to see one picture (that she isn't getting paid $$$ for) of the happy parents with their new baby.

I agree! I am shocked they haven't sold there story yet to a tabloid. Besides the birth announcement we really haven't seen any news about it since then, not even a name confirmation that I recall. Not to mention the fact that we've seen Brit sunbathing two days in a row (or close together) and neither parent has been with the baby.

I hope it is simply because Mama Spears is taking charge and trying to let Brit relax, but it all still seems weird to me!

The whole thing is off. I mean, I can understand her mom giving her a break and whatnot, but I CANNOT imagine go out to sun bathe while my mom took care of my newborn baby! Maybe going to take a nap or shower, but when my son was born, I hated to be away from him! Ugh, I really do not like her anymore...

It was meant tongue-in-cheek, not "RROWWWWRRR, you're really dumb."

After all, half this thread worships Brit and the other half projects mass amounts of sarcasm at her. I can tell by your avatar that you are in the first camp, but I am most definitely in the second camp. Besides, in a few weeks, Brit and Kevin will be poking fun at my parenting/coping skills. Turnabout is fair play.

And to the poster who asked about hugging the dog/holding the kid, I play to hug my dogs and hold my kid. Germs may creep you out, but they all get exposed at some point.

So do I.. Now that my daughter is older and no longer a newborn baby.

Guess I am thinking more along the lines of newborn and exposing a newborn who does not have that strong of an immune system yet. Maybe I was just a paranoid mommy in the first month of life but I didn't really want to risk doing something that may or may not cause my infant to get sick.

As much as I really can't stand the federlines :rolleyes: I am going to have to defend the whole sunbathing thing sadly :rolleyes: as much as I hate hate hate it. All newborns really do is sleep, eat, and poop. Yes they require tons of attention but they are not as hyper as lets say a one year old that is constant. Newborns sleep anywhere from 16 to 18 hrs daily, My lil one only use to wake up every 2 hrs for her bottle. I remember sitting back thinking HA! this is a piece of cake! Until of course my lil one got a little older.

But my point is I do not see anything wrong with it and for all we know someone may have had to force her to take a break. As much as I doubt it :rolleyes: hahah that sort of made me laugh. That was a good one ;)

I had an ICU nurse from Children's Hospital tell me when my daughter was 2 days old it was fine to have the dogs lick her face. My parents are mortified but she's been getting kisses from that day forth and she is pretty much the healthiest kid around. Within reason, germ exposure is good for kids!

I gave birth (not a CS) less than 6 weeks ago and had an easy pregnancy and delivery. I still can not imagine laying out in the sun within a week or so of giving birth. And especially in a bikini. And even more in a white bikini. I felt too tired and crappy most of the time. At the same time, I know that my family was jonesing to take care of my DD and would have tried to force it on me if I was not so strong willed. More power to Brit for being comfortable enough to be in that bikini. And more power to her mother for being able to love on her first grandchild. Lynn has got to be excited too.

Personally, I don't see a problem with Britney spending 1 out of the 24 hours in the day to sunbathe. I would think it'd be important for a new mom to have a little time out to relax?

And as far as the baby being exposed to "dog germs..." Well, the people I know that were coddled and kept away from every risk of exposure when they were young, are now constantly sick as adults.

My parents had a dog and two cats and a normal, lived-in house when I was a baby; I have no allergies and am rarely sick. My cousin grew up in a house with no animals that was spic-and-span 24/7 and she is what she refers to as "delicate," and what I call "fragile."

For what it's worth, my son had MY last name on his hospital tag, even though it wasn't HIS last name. (I kept my maiden name, my son has my husband's last name.) I guess since I was the patient, they automatically put the baby's name as mine.

My sis had her baby girl 5 months ago and 2 more girls before that. She was in a birthing suite, but the babe had a clear bassinet just like that in the room. Her name and info was on a card very similar, but her name wasn't written in BLUE! I'm not really sure, some one correct me if I am wrong, but I don't think the nurses can move the child except in the bed. They can't carry the babe anywhere.

i would love to see pictures of hospital bassinets that aren't like the one pictured. All I have ever seen are the like the one pictured on the previous page.

We had a birthing suite and still had the clear bassinet like in the picture when we were in the hospital 6 weeks ago. Our baby was also identified by the mother's name. My assumption is becuase you can never guarantee that the man is the father! But you always know that the woman is the mother. I had to sign all of the paperwork as well.

I think the pic is a fake as well. Particularly because of the off angle, the blue writing, and the fact that all of the other writing on the card is in black ink. Do you think that they carry special blue and pink pens to write the last name in? It is funny the the creator did not even try to make it look real. It looks like they MS Paint with a "round brush" option to write in "Spears"!

I doubt that is real. Like you all said, she spent $20,000 a night and that piece of paper is rather large.

When I had DD they covered up her information on her bassinet with an index card. In fact they did that to all of the babies' bassinets. There was a nursery and you had the option of keeping your baby in the room with you or putting the baby in the nursery. I noticed people had their babies with them during the day and put them in the nursery at night so they could catch some sleep. Since Brit had her baby at UCLA, I am sure they have many many famous people deliver there as well so she probably had a 'private nursery'

Anywho its an interview with Diane Sawyer in which Diane says "Its been a really hard year for you hasn't it. From the tabloids, to the breakup, etc.

Britney is kind of hunched over in her chair and shakes her head "yeah, its been rough...yeah" or something like that and then she starts waving her hands in front of her face saying "yeah its kind of weird (tears)Weird, eew" and shaking her head back and forth. "Oh my goodness, Eeew" holds her finger up to herself and says "strong Britney." Then silence, she says "eew" again and really breaks down and says "can we stop now?"

Its really sad.

"This is a great opportunity to get some cool (and rare) Britney items while contributing to a very important cause!" says a posting on Spears' Web site. The 23-year-old pop singer was raised in Kentwood, La.

Items include a white stone bra worn in one of her videos, a pair of blue-and-pink jeans with a pink suede buckle belt, and an autographed "I Have the Golden Ticket" burgundy tank top with an arrow pointing down.

Normally I lurk here but this one I can not resist. Who would have thought Brit would stoop so low as to hold a yard sale on Ebay? Britney Spears, hubby Kevin Federline and new baby Sean Preston were forced from their California home earlier this week due to the California wildfires, according to published reports. Since there's a link on her website to the auctions, I'd have to assume that they're real. Thing is, if I was a celeb and I was going to auction off my stuff for a cause (not counting the fact that *her* stuff really seems more like trash, but whatever!), I don't think I'd use a "bargain" company as my broker. Ellen and Jay Leno do ebay auctions all the time and they have it set up as their own site. If you do a search, there are plenty of ebay charity auctions (authentic), so surely they could have hired a better "organization" to hawk their stuff.

I've been wondering what Brit was going to do for hurricane relief stuff. Considering that she grew up in the metro New Orleans area and still has family in the area that was affected (granted, they probably only lost power for a few weeks, but the parish where she grew up got some significant wind damage) it's pretty disappointing that all she's done is auction off her $10 J Crew flip flops and some crap from her old house in Kentwood. I can understand the fancy dresses, or something special, but some of the other stuff is just junk.

I find it especially interesting that her website says all the proceeds are going to go to the MS hurricane victims. She has some ties to MS as she went to school right across the MS/LA border, but she grew up in LA, outside NOLA. Hell, she took gymnastics about 5 miles from where I'm sitting right now. The bra was one of dozens of wardrobe items and other personal belongings that Spears put up for bid on eBay to raise money for victims of Hurricane Katrina, and bidding on the bejeweled undergarment had surpassed $60,000 before it was withdrawn on Saturday, eBay spokesman Hani Durzy said on Monday.

In a message posted on her official Web site, Spears, 23, told fans she was "concerned that some of you might be confusing this bra with something that it's not."

The message says eBay accurately described the bra as having been worn by Spears during a promotion for an HBO concert special, but "it is not the one I wore onstage during the 'Baby One More Time' performance."

"I feel the correct thing to do is remove this item from the auction because I don't want any of you to feel misled," she wrote. Spears did not explain how the confusion might have arisen.

Earlier during the auction, an eBay staffer had pulled the bra from the site after deciding that it violated company policy that bars listings for used underwear. But eBay executives later reversed the decision on grounds that the bra was really a piece of entertainment memorabilia, Durzy said.

Spears auctioned dozens of personal items on eBay, with proceeds going to The Britney Spears Foundation to benefit the Mississippi Hurricane Recovery Fund.

On Saturday, she posted a message on her Web site saying she was "concerned that some of you might be confusing this bra with something that it's not."

The 23-year-old pop star said she wore the white stone bra bids had risen to over $47,000 on the auction Web site during her HBO special but not during her performance of "... Baby One More Time."

"I feel the correct thing to do is remove this item from the auction because I don't want any of you to feel misled," she said.

It was the second time the bra had been removed from the auction. Earlier, an eBay staffer pulled it because it violated the Web site's policy of not selling used undergarments. The decision was reversed, though, because the bra fit under the category of memorabilia.

The auction otherwise concluded with a "I Have the Golden Ticket" tank top going for $1,200, her ottoman selling for $510, her Chanel high heels for $770, her two-piece sectional sofa for $3,050 and her red-tab jeans for $4,001.
