View Full Version : Gift basket for friend?

I found out a couple of hours ago that a friend of mine is pregnant. She said they just found out about 2 weeks ago, so I am assuming that she's not very far along. She is having terrible "morning" sickness all day and night and is spending a lot of time in bed. I was thinking about taking her a small gift basket with items to help her feel better and to celebrate her news.

Any ideas? I was thinking about those preggie pop things, but is there anywhere I can get them locally? Anything else that might help her feel better?

I've seen Preggie Pops at Babies R Us.
I won't be of much help- nothing helped my morning sickness, except Zofran. And I still grimace at the thought of ginger ale and crackers.
Maybe a GC for maternity clothes or a pregnancy massage? A pregnancy journal? Baby magazines or books?

How about Sea Bands (these helped me take the edge off), Goldfish Crackers, sour lemon candy, a couple pregnancy magazines? Those Preggie Pops are essentially sour candy, so you could also get those sour Altoid tins of tangerine or sour apple flavored candy. I went through lots of different things till I found what worked for me, but I'm sure she'll appreciate the gesture. :)

Maybe you could throw in some gossip mags, too, as something mindless and fun to help her relax. And maybe some peppermints would help settle her tummy? It's so hard to know what might calm each person's stomach. Still, it's the thought that counts. :)

I have terrible m/s right now too and not much helps besides Zofran but the Altoids Citrus Sours and Lifesaver's Pep-o-mints do offer a little relief and would look cute in a gift basket. I've also been bored out of my mind, what with not being able to leave the house and all. So, books/mags as others have suggested are great ideas. Or what about a TVGuide or gc for Netflicks or something?
