(Warning: May be TMI)

So DH & I were DTD yesterday and my perineum was sore during & afterwards. Since giving birth, it's continued being sore. Is this normal?

I had a PP appt at 7 weeks and everything checked out fine. Of course I hadn't DTD by that point, so no pain. I did tear and ended up with 6 stitches...

I was sore after DTD with DH for almost 8 months PP.

I had a 4th degree tear and a difficult recovery, so I just chalked it up to that.

I had a complicated third degree tear that was very slow to heal. We first started DTD at 3 months PP and it hurt like hell. Then it would just hurt initially. Now it doesn't hurt at all. (11 months PP). Lube helped tremendously.

I was also sore until about 6 months PP from time to time, even when not DTD.

I tore and it still hurts like the hell upon occasion. It has gotten better though. I just keep telling myself "no pain, no gain" :D

Invest in a good lube (AD Millenium or other silicone based lube) it will help a lot. I still have slight pain at 5 months PP, it gets a bit better as time passes though. I had a pretty bad tear and needed 6-9 stitches I believe it was

Ahhhh ok. Thanks ladies... Just making sure. For some reason I thought the pain would go away by now.

I had a 2nd degree tear and it's JUST starting to feel decent at 7 mo. PP. :( There is still some discomfort, but nothing compared to what it used to be. I had hoped it'd be 100% better by now too....
