Sorry the pictures aren't the greatest. Does anyone have any idea what this is? I'm afraid we're letting a weed run rampant... thank you!!!

I'm not sure, but it looks a lot like a Lantana variety. Have you seen it flower or does it have little fruit berries at the end of each branch?

Here is more about the plant: http://aggie-horticulture.tamu.edu/plantanswers/publications/lantana/lantana.html

Or maybe sage of some sort??? Gee, I guess this means, I don't know!

Good luck!

It just developed some sort of tree-shaped buds on the end, w/sort of a mossy texture. Thank you for your help, sublime...

Kinda looks (and sounds like) a bit like a butterfly bush (at least the leaves do) to me...any color to those tree shaped buds?

i think that's it!! my buds look exactly like the green ones you posted! no color yet & the bushes are tall!! i'm a little concerned b/c they're planted *in front* of much smaller bushes. don't know that the previous owner was thinking...

thank you for your help!!!!!

They're actually beautiful though...and they bloom ALL summer provided you prune them as soon as the buds die. Make sure you post pics! I'd love to see when they bloom!

I agree with MeTheGirlie , it's defnintely butterfly bush (also called budleia...not sure on the spelling). Per it's name, it attracts all sorts of butterflies as well as humming birds. Be careful, it can grow very large if you let it so once the blooms are spent, definitely trim it back.

How is this one going? I'd love to see if it bloomed!

Thank you for all of your help! We've only seen 2 butterflies so far. The bushes are already growing out of control!!!
