So does anyone else like this show? It is my favorite right now. Last night's show was great, but hard to watch sometimes! I have to look away during the more "icky" dead body parts.
I especially like the eye candy on this show. "Booth" (David Boreanaz) is a complete hottie. Sigh.
But, I also enjoy the science/anthropology aspects of the show.
Well enough of my gushing, does anyone else like it?

I love this show too! David B has been a favorite of mine since the Buffy/Angel days. One of my LJ pals and I were just talking the other day about how much we'd like for Sarah Michelle Gellar to do a guest appearance on Bones - a Bones/Booth/SMG love triangle would be sooo fun!

I thought we had a thread on this show already, but I guess not. The only reason I started watching it was because of DB and was pleasantly surprised by the show. :D I'm also a Buffy/Angel fan and like to support them whenever. I hated the lead actress that plays "Bones" at first but she is growing on me now.
If any of you watched Angel, the actor that plays Hodgkins was in a few eps of Angel. In the last season when Angel works for Wolfram and Hart, there is that ep where Angel saves someone in the alley and then WRH comes in with a SWAT team afterward. Hodgkins is the lawyer that talks with Angel and the victim. :)

I loved that romance too and would love to see them together again! SMG couldn't be bothered to make an appearance on the series ender of Angel though (apparently she was shooting a movie at the time), no way is she going to come onto this show. I always got the vibe that those two actors didn't get along IRL. Or maybe that SMG didn't get along with Joss. We can hope though! :)
I really hate that they don't talk more about Bones' father and that whole thing. It's just swept under the rug.
Is it wrong that I was sort of hoping that Callie (is that her name) would have died? I don't like her character or her connection to Booth.

LOVE this show! We've watched it from the start. I love the way they've developed Bones & Booth's relationship.

vwinkel - I searched for a Bones thread and was surprised that I couldn't find one! Anyway, I too kind of wanted Callie to die. Her "relationship" w/Booth is not very believable. No chemistry there IMO.
About her dad (and brother), it is a bit strange that they just moved on from that storyline. So what happened to them? I'm sure that they'll come back to it sometime later this season.
I am so glad to see that I'm not the only CCer that likes this show! :)

What did everyone think of the episode last night???
I really like what they're doing with Angela and Hodgins. I'm whiteing some things out just in case someone taped it and hasn't gotten a chance to watch it. But my thoughts are below :)
I can't believe when he turned in his resignation, I thought it was really neat when that attorney basically pointed out that everyone in the group has made mistakes and that all of them as a group need to get their act together. And I loved when the verdict was going to be given and he grabbed Angela's hand and then kissed her cheek. And then at the end when they were talking and looking at pictures of his friend, you could just see that these two characters really care about each other. I was actually more excited about things that happend with those two then that Brennan slept with that agent. :)
Oh yeah, and did anyone else hear that after next week the show's gone until sometime in March because of American Idol??? What's that all about?

Katyanne - I thought the episode was great and am bummed that they'll be off till March! Stupid American Idol. ;)
I like how the characters are being developed and am happy to see Dr Brennan paired off with Sully, for now at least.

I have watched this show from day 1, and I just love it. It wasn't great in the beginning, but I think it has gotten really good. One of our favorites, for sure!
From day 1 watcher too, and love this show. Agree that SMG couldn't be bothered. She's too busy making mediocre movies, I guess.

OH MY GOSH!!!!
Did anyone watch the season finale last night!! Holy crap!! Totally not expected what happend at the end.. I'll post my favorite quotes from the website and other stuff in white to not spoil anything if people haven't seen it yet.
“This time art made science her bitch”
-Angela Montenegro
“Rationally speaking I’m not good at social ritual” - When Hodgins asked Zach to be his best man
-Zach Addy
“I’ve got cars, guitars, and guns, you treat my daughter right and you’ll only see the business end of the cars and guitars”
-Angela’s Dad
“I’ve been blown up, that wasn’t as bad as I expected, but I’ve never been shot”
-Zach Addy
“Is there any sense in ducking when someone shoots at you”
-Zach Addy
“I jumped over a broomstick with a guy”
-Angela Montenegro
I loved when Angela and her Dad walked down the aisle to a ZZ Top song! Plus when Hodgins tried to ask for Angela's hand and her Dad reacted that way. it was awesome! I really wish they couldve gotten married though.

I thought it was great. Bones is my current favorite show and I'm bummed that it's over for the season.
I had more thoughts but I'm distracted right now and will have to come back later.

Great to see a thread about this show!
I am a newbie (just started watching it a short time ago) and am really beginning to like it alot.
One issue though, is with the actress who plays Bones; she doesn't emote much does she? Or is that supposed to be the way she (the character) is? I would like to see some more facial expressions.
Oh, and I LOVED the little-red-riding-hood type cape/hood that Angela wore walking down the aisle. She is one beautiful lady!
DB seems to be getting better as an actor (and hotter), too! Glad to see he got another series after Angel. That was one kick-ass show. Agree that to see SMG on an episode of this one would be very cool, and ya never know.....

I really like the way the actress protrays Bones, because of her homelife and situations in her life she's more comfortable with books and knowlege and tends to seem socially ackward. In the first season and even now she blurts out things that other people feel is rude or obtrusive but to her makes sense.
I loved Angela's outfit for the wedding, I've loved her and Hodgins since the first episode and I love how Angela is such a free spirit. I honestly wouldn't have been suprised if she wore red or another bright color.

I've never seen the actress who plays Bones act anywhere else, but I believe that she is portraying the character. Bones is a emotionally and socially stunted adult (hello social skills defecits), and acts accordingly. I have seen her be less this way as the seasons go on, which would correlate with her own personal growth.

I think one of her first roles was in the TV movie Rose Red - she plays a psychic. And then she was a secretary in the first Spiderman. It wasn't until I think the millionth time I watched that movie that I realized who she was LOL

I'm a casual viewer; I got into it because of Boreanaz, but I think this is the sort of show I'll watch regularly in syndication.
I didn't see the finale, can someone spoiler text what happened at the end? The commercials seemed interesting and a friend sent me a text message that indicates
--->Booth and Bones got married, but it was under wacky circumstances.<---

whos that girl to answer your question, doubt it. Sure looks that way but it would be out of character for these 2.
OH...caught a bit of Cold Mountain this weekend and ED is in that, too! She looked great in the period piece, totally in place.

I thought it was really good last night, I'm a big Angela and Hodgins fan and I'm hoping this quest to find her "husband" isn't going to break them up but i guess this is TV and they want drama ;)
I liked what Cam said to Zack about him fitting in more with the Jeffersonian then with the Army. It'll be interesting to watch his character to see if there's any drama or anything from his time away.

I missed the season premiere (it's waiting on my TiVo), but I generally enjoy this show. As a scientist, I dislike the fact that many of the scientists are portrayed as socially lacking/awkward. I usually like Bones, but honestly, by now she would be wise to the world on appropriate interaction and social culture. She hasn't been living in a cave all this time!
Anyway, love the science, love the cases, love me some David Boreanaz, just wish they'd make the scientists more 'normal'.

Irish eyes - Interesting observation. The show does focus on the differences of the "squints". As if genius = social awkwardness.
Anyway, I was a bit disappointed by the premier to be honest. I thought that it seemed kind of disconnected and forced. Hopefully this was only due to their trying to explain how it left off last season so it will improve next week!
I also find the whole "I married someone but I don't know their name or what they look like" to be a bit nutty. It's only borderline funny to me and hopefully they'll wrap it up soon!

Nobody has posted here in a while...did anybody watch the last 2 weeks??
I about died when they were talking about Booth being dead at the beginning, and then the funeral. I told DH that that was it. I was never watching again. I was SO glad it wasn't real!
Then Zach being the apprentice. That threw me, too. He was my last pick. He has been the one to leave for a while and come back, so I wonder if that's what's happening again. I really like him as a character. I hate to see him go.

Although Zach being the Apprentice made the episode a really good one, it doesn't make sense in the context of the rest of the show. This was especially glaring since some of the shows aired in reruns highlighted Zach's dependence on the forensic team as his moral and emotional center. The security clearance show specifically spelled out that Zach would check with Angela before going against the team in the case someone had irrefutable logic to convice him to do something. Also, I can concede the logic that killing powerful members of powerful secret societies benefits society (not saying I believe this to be true, only that it could appeal to him). However, the eating part - totally without merit. If he had been the Apprentice all along, that would've been fine. Then we couldn't trust anything we've ever known about Zach. However, to believe that he'd sign on with the Master after already working the case with the team from the Jeffersonian is completely counter to everything that we've seen about him and his character since the beginning of the series.
Although I thought the episode was well-written if you disregard the dynamic of the rest of the series, I was thoroughly annoyed by it.
Brenda, ITA with everything you said about Zach. I'm a fan of this show, but not of this twist with Zach. I'm disappointed.

I am interested to see what they do with this next season. It looks like the actor that plays zach was written out against his will. He says he'll still be around but not a regular.
