Apple Vacations - Grand Melia Cancun

I know there was a thread about this on the other site but I didn't feel like searching and searching :p

Have any of you gals ever stayed at Grand Melia Cancun?? We were originally booked for Adventura Spa but today we had to change places because apparently hurricane Emily hit the resort pretty badly. :( The travel agent said it is very nice and apple vacations has it rated with 6 stars. The only thing I am bummed about is that it has kids there. Not that I have anything against kids I was just hopping to be kid free.

So ladies, any good feedback??

I haven't stayed at that specific resort but I do adore that general area. Two websites that I usually use to research resorts are Trip Advisor (www.tripadvisor.com) and Debbie's Caribbean Resort Reviews (http://www.debbiescaribbeanresortreviews.com/). I find them both to be quite informative.

Thanks for the websites! I read alot of reviews and they were mostly all great except for this one pretty negative one but that was due to Hurricane Emily in which I understand was probably gonna be horrible at any resort at that time. I'm very happy with what I read, now I just can't wait to go! hehee. We leave in 2 weeks (August 6th)

Please let us know how it was when you get back. DH and I have been talking about a trip to Cancun for a few years and the Grand Melia was one of the resorts we're looking at.
