I love Coke too and I don't do well with diet drinks because the artificial sweetners always give me headaches. Have you guys tried the 100 cal cokes? I usually have one of those with my dinner (but drink water at all other meals) an it seems to satisfy my coke craving.

Oh no, I haven't tried those. Is that Coke Zero?? Thanks for the tip!
ETA: Duh, Coke Zero would = 0 calories, right? I have serious mommy brain. So what's the name of the 100 cal Coke? :)
Way to go cheryll!!
Hi my name is Sue and I'm a cokeaholic :) I've been drinking the Coke Zero and to me, it's a lot better than Diet Coke. Diet Coke just tastes weird to me...

I should probably know this, but... what's the difference between Diet Coke & Coke Zero (besides taste)?
JennW

Coke Zero rocks!!! I used to be a Diet Coke addict but I have totally made the switch to Zero!
Toonces - Coke Zero is still diet but it is supposed to taste more like regular Coke than Diet Coke.
Also, if you guys are into flavored soda Pepsi Jazz makes a few flavors that my DH always buys. I still drink water with almost everything but I always have a soda with lunch to get the soda craving out of the way. Diet Sunkist can do wonders for a sweets craving, too.

I just have to say damn those THIN MINTS.....They are ruining my points today.
Um, the kebler grasshopper cookies (100 cal packs) taste like thin mints to me. So yummy!
Congrats Cheryll!
dansgirl - from the few days food logs I've seen, I'd just recommend more veggies.

I hate regular coke but I looooove diet coke. But my new find that is the most amazing and yummy coke? Coca Cola Cherry Zero. Taste like a real cherry coke.
Also--Grasshoppers? One of my faves because they taste so much like Thin Mints, which I tend to crave from time to time. :)

Coke addict here to!
The 100 calories cokes are the little short ones - 8 oz
Our cafeteria only sells 20 oz (5 pts!) but there is a vending machine that sells the 12 oz but that still eats up more points than I want. So I bought to 8 oz just to get the taste. I've never liked Diet at all, but I've been meaning to try Coke Zero.

Coke Zero does have a much sweeter taste than Diet Coke. It's a great alternative when I'm craving a regular Coke.
I love Coke Zero and Cherry Coke Zero! it's pretty much all I drink (soda-wise) at home, though I have to keep caffeine free around for the hubby. As for those 100 cal packs -- I love the sun chips, the lorna doones and I just tried an oreo today. All tasty. The nutter butter ones aren't nearly as tasty (since they don't have the PB filling).
Oh and let me just say, I tried a Smart Ones mac & cheese and man-o was it good. They must've changed their formula since I don't recall it having tasted this good last time I tried it.
I always have the 100 calorie packs of Cheetos on hand. I've also tried the Hostess cupcakes - yum! Especially when I'm having a craving for something chocolate. I have also tried the 100 calorie pretzels and those are good when I need something salty.

Where do you guys find these 100 calorie pack things? I have never seen them?
Also, what do you all do for breakfast? I'll do oatmeal or cream of wheat if I have time, which is hardly ever since I'm always running late:o so normally I'll grab a breakfast bar. But, I'd like to have less than three points for breakfast. I'm not really into doing ceral because measuring cereal and milk in the option usually isn't an option for me since I am running out the door.

I've seen the 100 calorie pack things (in boxes that contain 4-6 bags) near the cookies.
For breakfast, I do the Nutrigrain Fruit and Nut Bars. My favorite is the berry & almond ones, because I love almonds. They're just 2 points. I leave early for my job, and don't eat until I get to work, so I keep a box of them here.
I lost 0.6 lbs this week, for a total of 17. Just another 0.6 lbs to get to the 10% milestone.

100 cal packs are located in various locations at my store - cupcakes are by the other cupcakes. Cookies by the cookies, crackers by the crackers. I've not hunted down the chips, but I bet that's where they'd be. Of course, this Giant Eagle puts all the organic cereal in an organic section and removes it from the regular cereal. I hate that, since I normally just look for cereal in the cereal aisle - I'm always dissapointed that there's no Kashi!
As for breakfast, none of mine are under 3 points. You could do an eggwhite omelette with veggies, but that sounds more time consuming than cereal and milk. I'm not sure how it would taste if you made it the night before and just nuked it....

Congrats on the losses IrishEyes and allray!
Great losses IrishEyes and allray!
For breakfast, I usually make breakfast the night before. Either 2 scrambled egg whites and then I bring bread for toast with light butter - 2.5 points. Or I'll make pancakes - 3 points for 3 - light syrup and light butter with a scrambled egg white. If I'm short on time or lazy, I'll have a breakfast bar of some kind.

Breakfast~I try to vary it so I dont get bored, but I also either eat while driving(bad i know) or eat first thing at work.
My favorites are:
-2 scrambled egg whites on Thomas 100cal eng muffin w/ 1 wedge lite laughing cow cheese and 2 slices center cut bacon(YUM!) (4)
-1 pkt weight control oatmeal & banana (5)
-fruit and nut chewy granola bar & apple (4)
-cheese stick & fruit (4)
Katy~Im going to have to try the smart ones mac n cheese again. Last time I had it (over a year ago) it was watery and had a bland flavor. I LOVE mac n cheese so if they redid it then im all over it! Thanks!
Have a great OP day ladies :)

breakfast- I'm in a super big hurry as well in the morning. I usually eat yogurt and a handful of almonds. The almonds hold me over longer than just the yogurt by itself. Protein in the morning is key for holding me over until lunch!
KaliLily
04-20-2007, 09:16 AM
breakfast - a WW muffin (3) and small banana (1), or Yoplait yogurt with 1/4 cup Fiber One cereal (4). And my "Poor Woman's Mocha" (2) - coffee with Swiss Miss Diet Hot Cocoa and 1T creamer.
I also try to eat a mid-morning snack of fruit. If I don't, there's no way I can get in all 5 servings of fruits/veggies.

That reminds me of my recent interaction with a crazy old lady at Lane Bryant this week. Apparently, I cannot eat english muffins because I'm fat. (She didn't say those words exactly, but that was clearly the message.) No wonder her niece can't lose weight, this woman thinks a proper breakfast is a few grapes and those hard tea biscuit thingies. I considered telling her about the wonders of WW, but decided I needed to end the conversation not encourage it. Because...
From the start she commented to me that my pants were too big (they were my own, I was trying on a top). I said I knew they were but I didn't quite fit into the next size down. I thought that was settled, but later on she said again my pants were too big, and to show me why she reached out and tugged at my jeans just below my abdomen...about ONE INCH from my crotch! She didn't even work there! Beware of shopping alone and going out to the big mirror to scrutinize yourself. ;)

breakfast - usually I am eating and driving - bad, I know. Apple with peanut butter or some sort of high fiber bread with lowfat butter.
Then I usually have an apple as a mid morning snack.
Congrats IrishEyes and allray!!!
I will weigh on Monday am...I really hope I am down something - this has been a very hard week for me. I am finding it very hard to stick to the points and not be starving.

Tried Coke Zero at lunch today. I think it was a psychological thing (I probably would have picked in a taste-test), but I wasn't digging it. I only had a few sips. I am such a good dooby and chose to drink my water and threw away the coke.
I will admit - I drink Slim Fast for breakfast (3 pts). I have been for my whole working life, even when I was thin. I am not hungry when I first wake up, plus if I ate at 7:30 I'd be starving by 10. I've tried other breakfasts and they don't fill me up or aren't convenient for eating on the way to work or when I get to work, so I've always gone back to SF.

I've been considering trying this. DH and I buy them for road trips because they're so convenient. I actually just sent for a free sample of Carnation Instant Breakfast (www.trycib.com if anyone's interested) to see if I'd like their version better.

I *LOVE* the Cappacino (sp) flavor of Slim Fast. Its 4 pts per can but tastes like a ice cap and is thick and creamy. I pair it with a piece of fruit and im full until lunch.(normally)
Im not with all of you on the coke thing. We are a Pepsi house, I drink 1 12oz Diet Pepsi everyday to keep away the caffiene headache but normally drink water or milk with meals.

Okay you guys are freaking me out about the points for SF. I've been counting it as 3 pts for a long time. I drink the Cappuccino too (Just recently our local grocery store stopped carrying that flavor, but DH found them at a further away drug store so we stock up on 3-4 cases when we do find it - I've tried the chocolate and just can't stomach it).
I just checked on line. 180 calories, 5 fiber, 6 fat = 3 pts.
I could deal if they are 4 pts, but I was just wondering if I was calculating it wrong.
I see that the chocolate is 190 calories so it does bump you over to 4 pts.

Hmm, Slimfast shakes sound like they would be a good solution for me for breakfast. Right now I eat a small bowl of plain oatmeal, with 1/3 cup of unsweetened applesauce.
I had WI today, and I didn't lose a thing. That hit the old ego pretty hard, since I was so, so careful this week, AND I worked out twice as much as I usually do. :( Oh well!
I usually have 32 oz of water and espresso in the morning, then an egg sandwich on sprouted bread after my run (2 slices alpine sprouted bread and one organic egg, 4 points), and 32 oz water. I usually eat all my fruit/veggies at night, when I get the munchies.
I'm down 1.8 this week which finally brings me down to 20.4!!! Man, I'm so happy I could cry! In celebration, since I now fit into all my old work pants, I went to Macys (one day sale) and spent just over $125 on six new tops (I have a feeling I might exchange a couple for something to wear with jeans instead). I saved over $144!!! To think, I was just looking for something to wear to Mobox's birthday on Saturday - happy birthday Mo!!!!
As for breakfast, I usually do a bar of sorts (FiberOne or Caribou) or an english muffin and a cup of tea. I'm not big on breakfast, but I know I have to eat something, so I keep it small.

Thanks everyone for your words of encouragement!
WooooHoooo Katy!!!! Good loss this week, and 20+ lbs. You go girl!!
For breakfast, I usually eat the same thing every day....I'm a creature of habit, I guess, but it works for me.
I have:
1/2 C of Kashi GoLean Crunch cereal - 1 pt.
1 C skim milk - 2 pt.
1/2 C cutup canteloupe - .5 pt.
That gives me 1 dairy and 1 F/V to start my day.
It's funny, but I was just discussing the number of times I eat per day on the WW boards. I swear, I have a baby's eating schedule, but I think it keeps my metabolism going all day. Here's my usual schedule:
B-fast: 6:30
AM snack: around 9:30 or 10:00
Lunch: 11:30
Afternoon snack: 3:30
Dinner: 7:00
PM snack: 8 or 8:30
And throw in there 80-120 oz. of water a day.
There you have it ladies: My feeding schedule. :)

I am down 1.0 this week, woohoo!:D Since all of my losses so far have been smaller than that im happy. Also Ive decided to trade some of my daily carbs for salad and sliced veggies and see what next week brings.
p.s Costco has individually frozen Mahi Mahi filets (good filling portion) you get around 12-15 in a bag for $14.99! My BF broiled them with some cajun seasoning, yummy! I calculated it to be 4 pts, so with some rice and broccoli I had a full plate for 8pts. yeehaw!

WI today- I lost 1.5 pds =)
Need advice- I'm BF and it has been recommended to me by my applied kinesiologist that I reduce my yeast intake and increase my protein intake to help alleviate DS's congestion. I removed bread, pasta and sugar starting on Friday and so far it is helping DS a lot, but my question is what can I bring for lunch while I am at work? I am basically following the CORE plan (meat, fruits and veggies). Does anyone have any simple CORE lunch ideas? TIA!

WI today, and I'm up 1 pound this week. Overall not a biggie, but that makes for 11 pounds regained and only 9 lost. Tipping over the halfway point like this is really getting me down. It's like my body has caught on to every weight-loss trick I know. :(
Last night I made a week's worth of salads. No more leftovers for lunch; I'm going to make salads a daily thing. I read on the WW site that too much food variety actually causes you to eat more.

My parents were down this weekend and both are doing WW so I made a few VERY yummy WW friendly meals for them!!!
Spinach, mushroom and goat cheese omlett (we used 6 eggs for 4 of us, and 1/2 package of goats cheese and it was only 4 points (plus whatever toast you want)
Filet with mushroom sauce (6pts I think - the recipie was in the most recent WW magazine)
1 beef filet each (we found frozen ones that are nicely sized and I think only 4 points)
sautee mushrooms and onion add
3/4 cup beef broth and 1/3 cup BBQ sauce and simmer until reduced.
Angel food cake with frozen berries
WW eggs benedict (pretty good, we used FF Miracle Whip and it was a little too tangy, light MAYO may be a little nicer and richer (and more points but oh well)
Just thought I would share... my very picky anti 'light' eating hubby enjoyed everything too!

04-24-2007, 09:41 AM
KaliLily- We do it at work here and I've done it before. I think you need 12 or 15 paying members (ie not Lifetime) for them to come to work (or whatever location). You pre-pay (for us it is $156 for 13 weeks but our health insurance reimburses some of that). You weigh in, get the materials and have a meeting just like a center. You get a booklet that says what weeks you've pre-paid so if you have to miss the one at work you can go anywhere in the world that week to get weighed in. Our leader does bring some of the snacks and supplies for us to buy.
Ours is during lunch hour, but I've heard of some places doing it at 5:00 or if there aren't any leaders available at 12 they may do it at 11 or 1.

Do you guys only count intentional exercise for APs, or daily activities as well? I only counted 20 minutes of walking yesterday, but I realized with doing laundry I must have run up and down two flights of stairs about 30 times.

greenbunny ~ I'm bad... I'm not tracking APs and didn't when I was on WW before either. I'm not doing it now mostly b/c of what you wrote... I do a lot of activity like running up and down stairs, hauling the kids around, laundry, etc., and honestly it's too much of a pain to track all of that.

I did actually have a loss last week of a whopping .8. And last week I did not do great at all. I am really struggling lately. Yesterday I didn't even count points because I did not feel good. I didn't eat over though. I only worked out twice last week and I don't feel like going at all this week.
I have totally lost my motivation. It really sucks because I was doing so good and I am only 3 pounds away from my 10%. I need some motivation big time. I want to quit so bad.
PrincessCJ81
04-24-2007, 06:40 PM
KIM- Only 3 pounds away from your 10% goal, that's awesome!!!! Why quit now? You are doing so well. When I get unmotivated, I look at fat pictures of myself (something about a double chin is very motivating!!!)
greenbunny- I count it as an activity point if it was constant motion for a certain period. For example, if you did laundry over the course of a day, I would say don't count it, but if you spent 30 minutes continusly going up and down and up and down than yes, I would count it.
Westiemom- No gain or loss is always better than a gain!!!! Slump weeks suck, but they usually motivate me to do better the next week!
toonces- I am pepsi girl too, I will have to try Pepsi Jazz!
I ate like crap today! We had an all day conference and they brought in donuts for b-fast, sandwiches w/ chips and a cookie for lunch and sodas.....So I thought to myself why not go ahead and make this a bad day and top it off with Flautas from Taco Cabana. I now feel miserable which is made even worse by the fact that its raining here so I can't walk.....ARRGGGGGHHHH.
I promise you ladies, I will do so much better tomorrow! Hold me accountable!

PrincessCJ81 Anyone else an evening snacker? I do really well all day long and then after dinner all I want to do is snack. What do you do to avoid the nighttime munchies?
We eat dinner really late, so my problem is after-work snacking. Half the time I'm full by dinner. :o The obvious solution is to eat earlier, but with DH's extra jobs and my classes, we'd be eating separate or on the fly. I'd much rather sit down together and share a meal than have an easier time losing weight.
So, yeah. I have no idea. :p

toonces- thanks for asking, I did much better today. I did really good considering one of my sales agents sent me a candy bar boquet (giving the evil eye). I only had a half of a half of a 100 thousand bar!
Evening snacks- I have this same problem. I have to eat around 6:30 or 7pm if we eat b/f that I will raid the kitchen by 9pm. Lots of water and tea do help curve the craving...or high protein foods like cheese or nuts.
mobox- ITA, working out on an empty stomach is just not possible! Maybe you can do a little workout tonight when you watch TV.
lins- I love skinny days!!! they make my day.
:pthis is me as well. We usually don't eat until somewhere between 8:00 or 9:00 PM and sometimes 10:00 (on weekends). So I try my best to hold off on lunch until around 2:00, but then by 6:00 or so, I'm going crazy looking for food. That's usually when I eat my fruit, a cheese stick or my 100 cal treats. I can't say it's the best plan, but we do what we can, right?

Thanks for the tea tip, ladies! I did buy some of that Celestial Seasoning peppermint tea yesterday. I also got it in blueberry. I'll have to try that the next time I get the nighttime munchies.
PrincessCJ81 ~ Now that's willpower! Candy bar boquets are pure evil. :p
Yesterday while shopping (with my points calculator!), I found some good stuff:
Weetabix Cereal - 2 bars = 2 pts. I tore it up, put rice milk & a banana on it, and it wasn't too bad.
Keebler Right Bites Graham Cinna Bites - 1 pkg = 2 pts. These are really good and gave me a sweets fix after dinner.
ETA:
Forgot to mention... I got some Minute Maid Light cherry limeade (10 cal/can). It's really good! I also got Coke Zero & Cherry Coke Zero - both good.

Well after coasting for a few weeks and then a 3.1 gain I am getting myself back with the program! I got to that stage where I was comfortable and fitting into my clothes again and feeling ok. But I can tell even if I didn't have the 3lb gain that I was just not as healthy. Even though I maintained for about 3 weeks I hadn't been to the gym and I was starting to feel kinda flabby and sluggish again. A co-worker got me re-motivated, she started WW Jan 15th and has lost 34lbs and looks great. I started Jan 1st and even before my 3lb gain had only lost 17.5lbs, which I know is still good, but when I looked at her it really hit me. That could have been me! She was saying since her husband is usually gone all week on buisness trips each week he comes home he said it was like coming home to a new wife each week because she just kept loosing weight. I thought to myself, "I want to give that to my husband and myself!" So I am back on, last Monday I was 164.3 so hopefully I can get down to 150. I was watching an episode of Workout and was watching the trainers with their clients and was thinking that might be what I need to really get it into gear at the gym. I have to convince myself to go everytime and it is just hard to stay motivated and not be there half-assed.. I know if I had someone there watching me and really showing me what to do I think I could really get into good shape, then hopefully be strong enough to stay there...

For nighttime munchies if I'm craving chocolate sometimes I will have a cup of Sugar Free cocoa for only 1 pt (or free if on core) or a sugar free popsicle, which only have 10 cal.!
For those familiar with DWLZ, I saw Dottie at Wal-Mart yesterday!!! I knew she lived in my area but never thought I would run into her... We were both picking up the 1 point bagels, I looked over paused a second then it dawned on me who she was. I thought for a second or two wether I should say something to her or not, but didn't know what to say so I continued my shopping!

Another good thing for a sweets craving is a fat free pudding cup. Two points but just enough to satisfy the craving! My problem is never sweets though, it's always the salty snacks I want, fries, etc. Ugh.

I totally forgot about this but I have heard people say it. I need to try this! I don't imagine I'd like it but what the hell, I'll give it a shot!
Today was WI, down 1.8 lbs.
Starting Weight - 143
Current Weight - 138.6
Total Lost - 4.4
10% Goal - 128.7
Goal Weight - 115
Nightime snacking usually isn't a big problem for me, I eat dinner about 6:30/7, but I try to leave 1-2 points in case I do get the munchies. If I do, I usually have a 100 calorie snack pack or a sugar free pudding, which is only 1 point. My problem time is between lunch and dinner...

Ladies, I need your help.
My work is having a BBQ today for the American Heart Association and since Im lazy and didnt go to the store last night am stuck eating what they have.
So my question is what is better?
1/4 lb hamburger on white bun
1/4 hotdog on white bun
they are also having baked beans and potato salad, which I will eat only the beans to save points, but I cant just eat beans today.
~Cravings~ At night we eat dinner between 6-7 and by 9 im wanting something. If I have the pts I eat a small bowl of cereal, if not I will have a piece or two of Wonder Lite Sourdough with spray butter (2) or a WW Giant Fudge bar (1). My worst time for snacking is between lunch and dinner, thankfully Im at work most of that time and dont keep cash on me for that reason. So if I want a snack its either coffee or gum.
Have a great day ladies! Congrats on the losses.:)

Well, I did it, ladies! I made my 100 lb. milestone!!
WI was this morning, and I lost -1.8 lbs., for a total of -101.3 lbs. gone forever, baby!
Boy, what a week! I've been workin' it, and it really paid off. :)
I updated my website with a new picture (at the end of the progress pics). The dress I have on makes me feel like such a tigress -- or should that be zebra. LOL I also added a picture of me wearing my 100 lbs. gone reward. You'll find that on the Rewards page.
I'm in the home stretch now. 8.7 lbs. till I reach goal. I can hardly believe that a mere 54 weeks ago I started this journey. Time sure flies when you're having fun! :)
Cheryll congrats!! And let me say, that dress looks great!!

I need to join in with you girls. I've been following weight watchers diet plan this last month. I have been a member and went to meetings before so I had all the materials but for now I'm just weighing in myself at home.
I will say that the weight loss has been a bit slower than when I was attending meetings. However today's weigh in showed a 3lb loss. So I'm super excited about that.
I'm excited to follow you all along. :D

Nightime cravings I try to eat between 6-7 but I'm not much of a snacker. I seem to have all my bad cravings at work when there are tempting things around like cookies and a Sonic next door  But at night if I do want something sweet I've been having strawberries w/FF Cool Whip-so yummy.

Kristine ~ That's cool that you saw Dottie. What are the 1 pt bagels? I'm gonna have to get some of those!! :)
They are called The Alternative Bagel and are found in the refridgerated section next to the cream cheese... They have sweet wheat, cinnamon spice (my fav), and an onion bagel... All are very good and very high in fiber which helps bring the points down. But if you do eat more than one, they will cost you more points cause they are a high 1 point. Wal-Mart is the only place I know it in my area that carries them.

I did my WI this morning and it looks like I lost another 1-2 pounds! I'll call it 1.5 since I my scale isn't the easiest to read. YAY! I feel so good about this week. I have drank gallons of water and have worked out every day and I think it helped break the plateau I was stuck on. My body feels so much better after all these good workouts. I gained. I am so upset I had to hold back tears when I left today. And I gained a lot. 2 lbs.
I knew I gained this week because we had friends visit last weekend and I was bad and I didn't do enough during the week to counter it out but I am upset. I feel like after all that work it means nothing. I guess I should be pleased after over 2 months I have never gained till today but still.

I lost 0.8 lbs this week, for a total of 17.8. I reached my 10% milestone! You bet I added my new keychain on to my current one. I'm so excited! They asked what my next goal is... 10 more lbs and I'll be at my goal weight. That's where I know I want to be at the most. I'll get there and then see if I want to lose more or stand pat.

*waving hello*
Hi, everyone. I re-joined WW this past weekend; I tried it last year and did not stick with it. Hoping this time will be different.
I have to confess I'm not a big WW fan, and I'm hoping to get a little lift here. Oddly, I find that any given day on WW, I have to eat MORE to reach my points than I do on a normal, healthy, non-WW day. (Like last night, I was ready for bed and still had four points to go.)
'Course I am not overweight because of the normal, healthy, non-WW days. I'm overweight because of the more-than-once-in-a-while, not-so-great-food-choice days! :p
That said, one thing that bodes well for this time is that I joined a different meeting. The one I went to last year was held walking distance from my house, but it was at a time that was easy for me to miss, AND I wasn't that fond of the leader. This time I signed up at a WW Center - it's a 10 minute drive, but the meeting I'm going to try to make each week is at 8:30 on Sat. mornings. Not much chance of any conflict that time of day/week, but if there is, the center has meetings all week and weekend long.
And so ... onward!

I made the 0-point cabbage soup on Saturday, and now I know why it's zero points. It's because it liquifies your entrails and dissolves any fat within three city blocks. I put in one can of Rotel tomatoes & green chilis, exactly like it said, and when I took a sip, I think my stomach tried to crawl out and seize me around the neck so I'd stop spooning it down. I could tell DH was forcing it down to avoid pointing out my latest culinary failure, so I finally took pity on him and got him a yogurt. He ate a few spoonfuls and sighed, "Oh, that's wonderful." He noticed my eyebrow hovering near the ceiling and muttered, "Any food that isn't painful is heavenly at this point." He spent the entire night tossing around and alternating between gobbling Tums and making noises like a disgruntled bear. I have about a gallon of this rocket fuel, and I'm afraid pouring it on the compost pile might cause a sinkhole.
In better news, the unfortunate burning sensation made me disinclined to eat the rest of the weekend, and I weighed in at -2 this morning.

New lunch idea that has been my fave this week. Carb Balance wraps are awesome and they come in all different flavors. They are big though so I cut them in half. Lunch: 1/2 a carb wheat carb wrap, a tbsp. of low fat ranch, turkey or ham (deli select or something similarly low point) and a piece of ff cheese. You can also add lettuce, onion, tomato, etc. The whole thing is only 4 points and it's filling.:)
Disclaimer: I don't eat tomatoes so I don't know if that adds points or not.

Well ladies, I have been an irregular poster but I did want to follow up and let everyone know that I achieved my lifetime status today. Although I am a good 7 lbs over my wedding day weight, I am very very happy with my achieved goal of 125. I am TTc and working with an RE, an dhe did not wan tmy weight to drop any lower due to possible impairment of ovulation.
This is my third time round at this. In 2005, I did lose a bunch of weight (for my wedding) but wasn't disciplined enough to keep going and get lifetime (to be fair, my six week maintenance period was interrupted by a wedding, honeymoon, move to a new house and serious car accident in which I broke multiple bones).
Last fall I tried and dropped out as well with no excuses except lack of discipline. For some reason, this year I have been able to lowly and steadily stick with the program. Possibly having a more realistic weight goal helped and also accepting that my 6'4" new DH and I just can't eat the same. No matter how much I love him and want to cook all these wonderful meals (which are responsible for a large portion of the 28.4 lbs I have lost), I just can't. If I make it I am too tempted to eat it. So I cook fab meals occassionally, and often I just eat salad at supper even if he has sausages or a chop (oaky, so I steal a few bites). Same with ice cream and desserts. I get a few tastes, that's all. When I have a big exercise day (yard work, demo, etc), then I get my own bowl of ice cream. But not daily.
Good luck to everyone. I feel wonderful and I hope for each of you to have this feeling very, very soon.
Suzu Welcome! Hope this helps! I found the flex plan more adaptable to a household of non-dieters. I also want to say that I rarely ate all my points. Two reasons: One I really wanted to get back in touch with true feelings of hunger and satiety (sp? - I mean fullness). I did not want to force myself to overeat. I didn't starve myself, but if I was full by the end of the day and had a few points left over - well I left them. I did not want to teach myself to eat past fullness. Second, I come from a large family and there seem sto be one or two special birthday meals per month - and teh 35 flex points were never enough. My family was not super supportive of my diet (doctor upervised) because of previous eating disorders (many, many years ago) so forgoing cake and ice cream (and Mom's home cooked meal prior) was neverreally an option. I figured teh points I had "left on the table" at other points in time would help out with tehse overages (and tons of exercise as well to earn activity points really helped).
Greenbunny - too funny. I hurt just reading about your experience!

JJ - congrats on reaching lifetime!
I don't want to make it seem like I always have points left over - it kind of depends on what I'm doing and how long I'm awake. A few nights ago, I couldn't sleep and got out of bed to start my day around 3am. I had two breakfasts that day, so by the time bedtime rolled around I was still hungry, and had to use flexpoints.
I just keep hearing that you HAVE to eat all your points to see success, and sometimes I just don't feel like it! That said, I know that as I drop weight, my points allowance will go down, so I'll probably be complaining about the opposite problem then.
It's my birth-a-versary week, so I'm not really keeping track all too much. Too many dinners out and celebratory drinks :D And thanks to my facial mishap (http://www.constantchatter.com/forum/showthread.php?p=1328282) (what a PITA) I can't break a sweat or I'm left stinging horribly from the burn - let's not even mention wiping my face. Needless to say, I'll be skipping WI this week :o and I just may need some recovery time next week as well *sigh*

Suzu - IMO your poinst allowance is just that - an allowance. The max you can eat, plus your flex points. Yes it is true that drasticaly undereating (hence being way under on points) will drop your metabolism, which is why you are encouraged to eat approximately your point range. but there is no magic to the points, in tht you have to eat all of them evry day. That is one common misconception about WW.. Some days you might be over - others under. That si one raeson why you have flex points - they allow for "overs" to accomodate for days you are "under"As long as you are not consistently one way or teh other, I would just let things ebb and flow.

I believe the same way. I am almost always under my points. Not drastically under, but under nonetheless. I'm supposed to get 20 and most days I eat 16-17. I always hope I'm not screwing with the system but I can't make myself eat if I'm not hungry especially if I'm truly full from low point foods. But then there are PMS days like yesterday where I eat everything in the house, so it makes up for it!:o
Feeling very guilty today. I was on an eating frenzy yesterday. Although I still think I made decent choices (low fat ice cream, granola, lowfat popcorn), I def went over points. I also didn't work out for the first time in ages. But, what can you do, right?
Well, this is pissing me off... The same thing has happened every other time I have re-started WW since the summer and it always throws me off track. I'll have a couple of good weeks, then a gain... a 1.8 lb. gain this week, exactly what I lost last week. I know I didn't eat that badly this week and I exercised quite a few days, but AF is due in a couple of days. I better have a good loss next week!!! But I did gain a point back :p

I've been doing well with staying within my points, which is incredibly hard for me. This week DH has suddenly taken to making me ice cream drinks for when I get home. I appreciate that he knows I've had a lot of stress at work, but how exactly does he think daily ice cream and alcohol fits into losing weight? After three days I asked him to stop, and he got all hurt. So annoying.

Is the cabbage soup the same as the 0-point vegetable soup? I've made the latter before and liked it. Maybe it's the spicy rotel tomatoes... that made me laugh out loud here at work. Sorry to laugh at your misery!
PMS (and then the actual TOM itself) sucks out the ability for me to lose weight well at all. I love love love the week after TOM (this week, actually), I always lose at least 2 lbs that week.
I make sure to always eat my minimum points everyday. I generally use my flex points two days of the week, and I don't use them all. I just make sure to have a day or two where I have a margarita or a small dessert. Makes this process not as painful if I can enjoy something extra a day or two a week.
I lost 2.2 lbs this week, for a total of 20. I'm finally back down in the 150's (where I haven't been since 2003) and close to my wedding weight. Just 8 lbs to goal!
Congrats jajacobsen on getting to lifetime! That's great! And good luck on the TTC front.

It wasnt as bad as I thought.,..it just takes a little more planning of what your going to eat and Im not all about the fat free cheese and stuff so I just ate reduced fat in moderation.

Question for you ladies about activity points... When I am working out at the gym either on the treadmill or eliptical trainer you put in your age and weight and it calculates your calories burned, as I'm sure you all know. My question is do you use the number of calories burned to equate to points banked?? Like if I did my 20 min workout on the eliptical I usually burn 200 cal. But if I add it online as 20 min moderate (I don't think I'm working hard enough to add it as high intensity according to the definition.) I would think that 50cal=1pt as it does with food so I would then bank 4 pts, or is it not that way with activity points?? Anyone know?? I have always went in the middle between the two, so I'm hopfully not messing it up too much, but I wasn't sure how to calculate it.. TIA!!
eta... I have an appt today to meet with a trainer at my gym, which I am excited and nervous about! I'm hoping that it will give me the motivation I need as well as the knowledge to know how to get the best results with the equipment. I'm curious as to what it will cost, hopefully not too much!

That is one common misconception about WW.. Some days you might be over - others under. That si one raeson why you have flex points - they allow for "overs" to accomodate for days you are "under"As long as you are not consistently one way or teh other, I would just let things ebb and flow. That's a good way of looking at it. I tend to look at my flexpoints as "cheating" (yes, I know I shouldn't) and I don't add activity points when I exercise. At my age, (43) I think that would really hurt my progress.
I appreciate that he knows I've had a lot of stress at work, but how exactly does he think daily ice cream and alcohol fits into losing weight? After three days I asked him to stop, and he got all hurt. So annoying. My husband made me some soup he thought would be low in points, but it turns out it's not. :o. It's in our spare freezer now - I'm going to have to eat some once in a while on days where I'm on the low side.
Is the cabbage soup the same as the 0-point vegetable soup? I've made the latter before and liked it.I'll have to go track down that recipe. I found a container of Matzo Ball mix and I figured out that each is only one point. They really make soup more filling, and they're not just for Passover anymore! A friend of mine (non-Jewish, btw) takes them on rock climbing trips for energy.
My question is do you use the number of calories burned to equate to points banked?? For me, that's easy. I never believe what a piece of gym equipment tells me. I figure it can't really know just from the base information it asks you to enter, so I just ignore all of it, except for speed and time.
Congrats allyray231, Aug2002Bride, & IrishEyes on the losses. I'm down 2.8 this week.

Congrats to all the losers!!!
It's looks like I didn't lose this week but I feel thinner so who knows. I worked out almost every day and ate great but it is TOM so that is probably why I didn't show a loss?
Tonight we had tacos for Cinco De Mayo. I made them with all white meat turkey.:D These margaritas are probably not the most point-friendly choice, though.:o:p

Good job, everyone!
The 0-point cabbage soup is in the WW recipes thread near the beginning. I think it's in a large post Foley42 made of all 0-point soups.
I have .5 flex points left until Monday, and I have to go to a catered event tomorrow. Eep. I had a Lean Cuisine tonight, and it came up 2 points higher than the points listed on the box! Crap.

Yay for losing and keep on truckin all you gainers...there's always another week to go.
Gym activity...I always go by WW's points, not what the equipment says. I just figure I'd rather err on the side of lower points.
Here's my stats for the week:
SW: 162.8
CW: 156 lb
Loss: 2.9 lb
Total loss: 6.8 lb
I'm on my way to 10 pounds before June 1 but I don't think I'll make it. I might get close though. I was thrilled to lose so much. This is week five and I had my biggest loss yet. I was surprised because I ate like such a pig last Sunday at a wedding....but I really buckled down the rest of the week and walked every day too.

Hi everyone. :) I am a nursing mom who needs to drop 63 lbs. The first goal is to get back to my pre-pregnancy weight, which is 38 lbs, and then another 25 lbs. to my final goal weight. I hope to do this in a year.
I joined WW Online today. Originally I'd planned to wait until the baby was old enough to take to meetings without fear of public meltdown, but I'm realizing that might take longer than I thought, and I need to start this program. So, WW Online it is. I'm hoping that this works, and I find that I don't need the accountability of the meetings in order to achieve success.
I've been looking forward to joining WW for a long time. I'm glad the day is finally here. :)

Weigh-in this am and down 2.7! :) I surprised myself this week, I normally use up all my flex points, but this week I had about 10 left, so I think that helped. When I went to the gym on Sat I bit the bullet and signed up with a personal trainer.. The consult went really well, I think we got along very well and when she was talking many of the things she was saying resonated with me. I am very hopefull that this will get me to where I really want to be. I am very excited and looking forward to my first session on Thursday!

kristine--I think the calorie counters on most machines have been shown to be very inaccurate and usually show a calorie use more than 10-30% above the real number. Also, the counters are usually not calibrated and over time can especially get more and more inaccurate.
Weight Watchers uses a formula, found here (http://www.3fatchicks.com/forum/showthread.php?t=72156) and based on perceived exertion, to calculate your activity points:
Light Activity Points = Weight X Minutes X .000232
Moderate Activity Points = Weight X Minutes X .000327
Heavy Activity Points = Weight X Minutes X .0008077

Hi Ladies
Well I just joined on Saturday, i have been before and been successful, my problem was sticking to it.
I did the WW shop on Sunday, everything healthy, snacks for me so i don't go to chips.
However, i feel like i am detoxing from food. I am starving and could eat everything and anything at this point.

How do you figure out the points on combo foods?
Tonight's dinner will be leftovers from last night's dinner -- a recipe from the top of the jar of sundried tomatoes. :o Basically, it's chicken breast, and some sauce that the chicken simmered in. The sauce includes tomato paste, sundried tomatoes (w/ oil), onions, mushrooms, and spices. I just pointed-out approximate quantities of what I think is in there, and came up with a total of 5 points. Is that kind of what you all do? Do you all take each ingredient and figure out how many points it is, or do you just take the whole thing as it is, and just guesstimate?
jajacobsen
05-07-2007, 01:29 PM
I just guestimate - on teh high side. I think that because of the oil and sugar in the sudried tomatoes and teh tomato paste, it is likley that is a 7 point entree.

Janey, if it's something that I eat often, I take the time to put it into the recipe builder. Otherwise, I enter each ingredient separately and estimate high on portions to be safe.
You guys are so right about how easy it is for guys. I get 18 points a day and DH gets 35. After dinner I'll be practically gnawing on my fingers, and he'll grab a pint of Ben & Jerry's and a couple of beers since he has 15 points left for the day.

~Ten pound ranges are like boyfriends ~
When I started NS I was pretty much married to the 250s. Nice enough guy, little lazy maybe, but I could see myself staying with him. Almost as soon as I started the NS program, I was flirting with the 240s. I remember a stretch where I was seeing 240 in the morning, but still hanging with 250 at night. Pretty soon, I divorced 250. Think I was serious with 240 though? Not! No sooner was he my morning and night guy, and then I noticed 230 looked pretty friggin' good. You guessed it, 240 got the boot. I'll be honest, as much as I enjoyed 230 while he was around, I never thought of him as a long term thing. And of course, it wasn't long before I started seeing 220. He was fun. People were really noticing me while I was dating 220. Boy oh boy, that was nothing compared to 2-teen though, I had to really kick up the energy for him. And 2-ought, well, he had me feeling like a 20-something again. 190s was a barrel of fun, until he wore out his welcome and 180s started dropping by in the mornings. This week, to my amazement, 170s has started giving me the eye and I admit, I'm diggin' it! The thought of 160s is beginning to cross my mind though...I'm a weight loss hussy!
Happy losing all! ~

Janey, I'm not finding it. Maybe it's only available to you. That would make sense because I often wonder why really basic stuff isn't in the food finder.
I was supposed to go out for lunch today for a coworker's birthday, and everyone else forgot. I was so relieved. There was really no polite way to say it, but I didn't want to waste the points hanging out with coworkers! I want them for meals with DH.
WI today and down 0.2 - yipee  So after 4 weeks, I've lost 3 pounds :mad:I've been pretty good with points, exercising and nothing. This week I'm really going to step up the exercise and see if that does anything.

I drink anywhere from 65-85 oz. of water a day, so I don't know what the heck it is.... last weeks WI was 3 days before AF and this week was a day after it ended, so I'm hoping that has something to do with it.
Last summer when I was doing the plan, my weight loss was much better, so that's what I'm comparing it to.

Well I am shocked. Weighed in today and lost another 3.4 lbs for a total of 18.6. The woman said to me "I don't know what you are doing but keep doing it!" Really I wasn't super super good this week but I did drink a TON of water. I hate to say it though but I think a lot of it has to do with 1)stress and 2)chasing my 2 year old! I had a small blip this week. Up a pound. I find that the fact that I lost one point this week (I have 21 daily points) has really stressed me out.
It was weird, after the weekend, the scale showed I was doing great. And I ate well during the week, but kept seeing my scale creep up. Not sure what that was about (and no, it wasn't PMS). Huh. Hopefully I adjust better to the lower points this week.

I was down 1 lb on Tuesday for a total of 15.6! I got my 3rd 5lb star, so I'm happy with my week. :)
I really need to get back to exercising, so my loss-rate can get back up to the 2lbs/week average I was on. I went back to work full time 3 weeks ago, and I'm still really tired at the end of the day. It's getting better, though, and I think soon I'll have energy for the elliptical at the on-site gym after work a few days a week.

Well I had weigh in today, did better than i thought i was going to do.
I am down 4 lbs.
It was a really hard first week for me, i felt hungry all the time and felt like i couldn't get enough food, but i wasn't eating enough protein so i was just filling myself with veggies galore and it just wasn't satisfying.
Well hopefully week 2 is better.
Congrats on all the losses.

A couple things have become big helps for me in keeping hunger at bay: Wheat English Muffins w/Peanut Butter and Fiber One bars.
I have the English Muffin w/1 Tbsp PB (4 points) most weekday mornings on my drive to work. That holds me for a couple hours, then I have a small banana (1 point) for a mid-morning snack. For those times when I can't stop feeling hungry, I eat a Fiber One bar (2 points for the chocolate, 3 for the PB) and that usually works to fill me up. Drinking a glass of water with it helps.
From my experience, protein and fiber are really important for satisfying hunger. One day when I spent a morning really hungry, I got a salad for lunch and loaded it with grilled chicken (about 3 oz). When I was finished, I was (finally) full for the first time that day. I also put 1 Tbsp roasted almond slivers on my salad for some extra crunch. They are really good and good for you, too!

Ditto. I try to snack on protein and fiber--almonds, a couple of whole wheat crackers, string cheese. Those things tend to curb my hunger faster and longer.

Well, only lost .7 this week... Pretty bummed, I lost 2.7 the week before and was hoping to make it to 20lbs this week, but I'm at 19.7! :( But things with my trainer are going really well and my legs are really sore today! Had my second session with her yesterday and it felt great. I've been getting in my cardio as well and really actually enjoying it! :) Never thought that would happen! Next meeting (Thursday) we will do my body fat again and hopefully see some progress! But the first time we did it we used some electronic thing that somehow sends little shock waves up your arm, because she hadn't gotten her calipers (those things they pinch you with) yet. But she just got them so we will re-measure my body fat on Thursday, and looking forward to that! She said the electronic thing can be off by 3-4% in either direction and the calipers are much more accurate, so I will be hoping for smaller numbers!

I was only down .2 this week for a total of 3 over two weeks. Meh. I know I need to drink more water and get more exercise, so that's kind of a no-brainer.
Does anyone find it hard to stay on-plan right after weigh-in? My WI is Saturday, and - even if I don't go overboard on the weekend - I'm pretty lazy about logging my points.
Like Mobox and KaliLily, I also find that nuts and wheat crackers satisfy hunger, but it's a retraining process not to eat handfuls at a time! It's surprising how little you need to just stave off hunger. Actually, this week I'm going to try chicken and brown rice and veggies for lunch instead of chicken in a green salad. I want to see if the rice will hold me 'til dinner more effectively.
Janey - I don't get the recipe builder either - I have some in mine that I'm pretty sure are only available to me, but I've seen "member recipes" in recipe section, and I'm not sure how they get there! I'm actually not sure I'd trust them - I like running my own just to see if I can tweak them to be lower in points.
Greenbunny - I hear you on "wasting" points. My sister has me talking about some foods being "expensive." 'Course she means pointvalue, not dollar value!
Sue - we were down the same amount this week. Better than a gain, right? That's a lot of water! Be careful you don't drink TOO much. You can deplete the nutritional value of the other things you consume.
Congrats allyray231 and cheryll on the big losses!
lovebugs2003 - congrats on the loss. In my meeting this week, people were quoting some stat that it takes 21 days to form a habit and one week to break it? I don't know if that's some WW philosophy, but there it is. Your second week will be better!
Mobox - where did you see that article?
JennW and kristine80: congrats on the losses. Sorry it wasn't as much as you'd hoped, but I'm sure it helps to know that you're probably seeing more inches lost than weight lost on account of the working out.

Does anyone find it hard to stay on-plan right after weigh-in? My WI is Saturday, and - even if I don't go overboard on the weekend - I'm pretty lazy about logging my points.
Yes. I find the same thing. My WI is also on Saturday and I find I'm lazy that day anyway with everything, so the WI doesn't help!!!:) I hardly ever log points for Saturday dinner BUT I do try and stay within points range. I figure that WW is teaching me how to control portions and make smart fod choices so I make my own choices on Saturdays without measuring/weighing, etc. while staying within guidelines since I hope to be able to do this someday without always knowing the points! I hardly ever use FP so if I do go over my regular points, it is usually that day.
Jenn, 3 points.
One of the reasons I chose Thursday for WI was so I have some time to recover from the weekend :) I usually do well on Thursday and Fridays, but Saturdays can be my downfall. But I also like to allow myself one meal on the weekend of whatever I want. I never go overboard, but if I want a burger and fries, I'll have it. I just won't have the bacon cheeseburger with mayo, which is what I REALLY want :)
WI should be good for me tomorrow, I've been sick and haven't had much of an appetite. I've barely been eating my points for the day.

I'm down 1.5 as of Monday, but I have a feeling next WI is not going to be pretty. My schedule is totally out of whack because I'm stuck all week in a training group. We're not allowed any food or beverages in the room, so I'm not getting any snacks, and I end up gorging at meal team because I'm so ravenous. Plus I can't drink any water, except at meals. I'm really frustrated because I have a mental mini-goal set for a wedding in two weeks, and this is just in time to derail me.
I have to ask, how do you guys get so many APs? I'll do an hour on the elliptical five days a week and I'm dead tired, yet it's only 2 points. Add in a few sessions of weights, and I'm still not cracking 15 for the week.
Congrats to all the losers! And to those seeing only small losses--keep it up! It all adds up.

I believe, the more you weigh, the more APs you burn working out. So 30 minutes of kick boxing/WATP video for me is 4+ points. When I workout on the bike for 12+ miles I earn even more.

I wear a heart rate monitor that has a calorie counter on it. It's a Polar and I think it was around $70 but it's been so worth it to me. I was really both under and over estimating my AP's before I got the HR monitor. 100 cal burned=1 AP

I need help with the point value of chicken, please!
I keep diced, cooked chicken in my freezer and fridge to cut up and use in salads. I use 4 oz at a time. It's boneless, skinless, and I add no oil during cooking. Sometimes I use diluted Campbell's 99% fat free cream of mushroom soup over about 6 chicken breasts.
So what would be the point value for 4 oz? I've calculated it on WW.com and fitday.com and gotten anywhere between 2 and 5 points!
Ideas anyone?

I figure that WW is teaching me how to control portions and make smart fod choices so I make my own choices on Saturdays without measuring/weighing, etc. while staying within guidelines since I hope to be able to do this someday without always knowing the points! I hardly ever use FP so if I do go over my regular points, it is usually that day. That's pretty much my attitude (although I do measure on weekends even though I'm not being diligent about logging the points.) And I also hardly ever use FP and never use AP. But if I don't show a good loss my third week, I'll probably have to adjust my attitude!
greenbunny - geez, are you allowed bathroom breaks? I'd seriously consider putting a few snacks in my purse or briefcase and snarf them down on the way to the ladies room. Nuts or trail mix or something. Anything to keep you from being ravenous.
sue - congrats on the loss!
eta: OK this is not fair. I just looked at my points for yesterday, and I was sure I'd be over because I ate some of my daughter's French fries at her baseball game. I ate 1.5 points in fries and 5 points in yogurt and low fat granola? WTH? I like yogurt and granola, but why did I bonk myself on the head for those fries!

suzubeane - I'm pretty sure 3 oz. of boneless, skinless chicken breast is 3 points, so I always count it as 1 pt. per oz. for anything over the 3 oz. As for the sauce, I'm not sure. HTH!:)
For "cooked boneless, skinless chicken breast", it's 3.5 points for 4 oz. - according to WW online.

WI was this morning and a bit strange -- I lost EXACTLY the same amount that I lost last week, -2.1 lbs., for a total of 105.4 gone. Not that I’m ungrateful or anything; just thought that was kind of odd. :D
4.6 till goal. I'm excited to be this close to goal, but starting to get nervous butterflies. :)

August2005Bride: I'm pretty stubborn. :) I also like buying new clothes in smaller sizes.....how's that for motivation? lol
Oh, and I ate ALL my flex points and APs again this week. Even went over .5, but that was for some watermelon.

Good job, guys! And LOL, Suzu. Unfortunately, the food strictness is justified, since it's electrical work and we're surrounded by circuit boards and things of that nature. This morning I snarfed down a granola bar on potty break, which isn't the healthiest, but I'll muddle through.

Congrats jenny and cheryll!
well I gained this week. 2 lbs but I am not suprised. I was REALLY bad, didn't track anything and after losing 8 lbs in the last 2 weeks I think my body had to give. So I plan to get back on the wagon! Only 8 more lbs till goal!

Ok I seriously don't want to work anymore and to top it off, I AM HUNGRY!!! I am on my 4th bottle of water hoping it will keep me and I had a Rice Krispie treat this morning and a little bit of pasta just now for lunch (prob 10pts already). I feel as if I am struggling. I dont know if it is because it is slow at work, it is Friday, or Im just in the mood to eat something.
HELP!

i hope i'm in the right spot...i recently joined online and this is all completely new to me. i was browsing around online for kind of a cheat sheet to keep on the fridge with the points for basic items and couldn't find anything. i finally found their "store" and it looks like they have something there (the companion, i think). is that right? is it worth it to buy any of the stuff in the store, like the points calculator? i usually only get online once a day and i think having some stuff out in the kitchen for tracking points will be helpful.

I love the Points calculator! I have 2 of them, one for my kitchen and one for my purse. I like being able to easily calculate points at the grocery store or a restaurant without having to pull out the big Points slider, or just guess and find out I was wrong. I have the one in my kitchen for calculating points while I cook.

It wouldn't be worth it to me. Then again, I'm doing this all on my own through an excel sheet. :p
I know many items off the top of my head now, and don't even need to calculate them (especially eggs, milk, bread, 2% American Cheese slices, etc).

Veggies, veggies, veggies!
Well, my two week, birth-a-versary celebration is officially over (the hubby threw in a last minute concert last night). I finally weighed in today and I'm proud to say that I only have a .2 gain! So I may seem to be a slooooooooooow loser, but baby I'm doing something right!! If this was me last year, I'm sure I'd have been up 5 pounds easily!
Man, if I'd only stop those damnable splurges from time to time, I'd maybe be trailing closely behind Jenny and her impressive -60!! Ah well...just over 20 pounds isn't anything to sneeze at :D

Ok ladies, I'm back. I stopped WW right after Christmas because I thought I couldn't count points for my whole life, but its the only thing that works. Therefore, I'm back. :)

Ok, I'm bummed. I weighed-in this am and was up .3... :( I made a few bad choices on Tuesday and Wed when I was visiting my family, but did really good the rest of the week and so I wasn't over points.. I had like 10 left after I got my excercize extras in there... I was really hoping for a good loss! Now I have been training but I really don't think that with muscle gain and fat loss would put me with a gain... I only weight trained with her 2 days this week and got 4 days of cardio... But the last 2 days when I woke up for work (at 3am.. yuck!) my hands have been very like swollen, and a little painful. It subsides by the time I get to work, but I wonder if that water retention is what is causing my gain  Anyways, other than that things are good. We did re-test my body fat with her calipers and it was 25% which is better from the 27.2% it was with the first electronic test...

katy - 20 pounds is a great start. :) I so admire all of you that are able to lose weight without extra nursing points. They're seriously my saving grace, otherwise, I'd think I'd be at about 20 pounds lost.
Andrea - welcome back.
kristine - I'm thinking water retention as well. Have you had anything salty, sodium filled, etc in the last few days? Maybe up your water intake for the week and see if that gives you the flush that you need?

Thanks Jenny ~ I had a bowl of popcorn on Sat night and it was kinda salty (my 3yr old daughter helped season it!) and when I woke up Sun am I thought that was it so I didn't have any more yesterday. And drank lots of water yesterday (I think it was about 5 16oz bottles) and have been doing really well with my water all week as with my fruits/veggies... Didn't eat anything salty yesterday that I can think of... The thing that really bummed me out is that I weighed myself Friday afternoon just to see how it was going and I was down .7, then to see a small gain today was dissapointing.. Maybe I will step on the scale tomorrow and see if it's out of my system then...
Welcome back Andrea!
Congrats Katy, on 20+ lbs! I'm thisclose to my 20lb mark but I just keep missing it!

You are all doing great. My scale looked a little bit down this week, but since I WI myself I couldn't tell how much. It was somewhere around .5 pounds I think. Better than nothing. I need to jump start this weight loss again. I've been working out every day but plan to kick it up this week with some more intense workouts. Little by little I'm getting there.:)

Katy - That's great news about the VERY small gain.
Me, on the other hand, I think I sabotaged myself last week. I ate too much and didn't exercise enough and gained almost 2 pounds. Could that also be AF? Maybe. But I'm trying not to use that as an excuse. I'm hoping to lose 4-5 pounds in the next two weeks to really jump start myself.

Sorry about the gains, ladies! I have a feeling I'm going in a bad direction this week, too. I have kept my eating OK but have not worked out for three days due to my teething DS who is literally attached at the hip to me at all times. I better try and step it up, soon!

Well, I was pleasantly surprised at WI this morning. :)
After my 68 point day on Sunday (yes, that's SIXTY-EIGHT), being -24 flex points in the hole, and the fact that TOM is here, I just *knew* I would have a gain this week.
Got on the scale this morning and about fainted .... -0.9! Total gone: 106.3 lbs.
So the moral of the story is: If you go wayyyy over points one day, DON'T LOSE IT and throw in the towel. Pull the reins in, do what you know to do, and it will all work out.
Goal is so close I can taste it....and it's tasting mighty sweet!

Congrats to all the losers :) allyray231 how cool to be so close to goal!!
Last night I fell off the wagon - hard. 3 slices of Meat Lovers Pan pizza from Pizza Hut and 3 cheesesticks. I have -1 FP left  And I felt like such crap after eating it... Oh well, I just need to rack up the AP's, 5 days till next WI, seems so far away!!

Congrats to all the great losers out there!
Sue - just shake it off. :) I tend to think of this for the rest of my life and I know that there are going to be pizza binges, parties, etc - and sometimes, I'm going to be off plan. And that's okay, because it's just one day and the next day, I can move back onto more plan like foods. :) WTG on your loss of 2 pounds.
cheryll - you're still doing great!
allray - so close to goal, WTG!
nawsgirl - awesome job. :)

I forgot to mention my incredible finds of the weekend. From Trader Joe's I highly recommend the CHILE LIME CHICKEN BURGERS (frozen section). ONe burger is 2 points. Plus a light bun and you have a 3 point burger. They are quite tasty too. I put a little brown mustard and a tomato slice. Secondly, if you like beer. BECK'S LIGHT is one point. I kid you not. They only have 67 calories and it is really good beer.

Weigh-in this am and another small gain of .1... I was bummed but yesterday when I met with my trainer and we took my measurements again I got some great news! In the 3 weeks we have been training I have lost 5 1/4 in! I was very happy with that and it makes it eaiser to digest the number on the scale cause I know something good is happening! :) Hope all you ladies had a great Memorial Day Weekend!

So after 2 months(ish) of going off plan I am back on. And, since then I only gained 1.2 pounds. I went off unintentionally because my wedding was getting closer and then we got married and went on the honeymoon. My intention was to start back up as soon as we got back but I got really sick. Sooooo... today I went to my first meeting in ages! I will be around! :)
