Quick trip summary – we had a great time.
Did great on both plane trips. Slept majority of flights but ears seemed to bother him on both descents, nothing unmanageable.
Met Charles Barkley in ATL security line on Friday.
Met Sen. Joe Biden in PIT baggage claim on Friday.
GoGo Kidz attachment for car seat VERY helpful – until airplane seatbelt got stuck inside car seat back in ATL and it took 10 minutes and 2 flight attendants to get it out.
DS sat in and “drove” a BIG fire truck
DS was enamored with BIG windmills at the wind farm
Was less than impressed with the PA Maple Festival. More interested in hammering the spile for the tree into its trunk
DS does surprisingly well with little to no nap, which is scary.
I could totally do that trip w/o DH. He was so whiney and crabby and ugh. JMan and I could definitely go it alone.
I hope our driving trip to Lexington in 2 weeks goes just as well as this trip.

TM: Please update my age to (gulp) 30.

So the biting himself we noticed this weekend when he was over tired and just mad at the world. He would bit his hand by the thumb – HARD. It went like this: cry, yell, throw paci, throw puppy, bit self, more crying. Ugh. Better himself than others, though – you’re right Ranchers. I’m so sorry to hear about Landon and Reece.

I hope all of the sick kids, mom’s and other relatives are feeling better this week. How’s the pink eye Alicia? I had it for DS’ first Christmas. Fun, wonderful, joyous. Here’s to Abs staying pink eye free!

2’s: it comes and goes depending on his mood (which, of course, depends on most recent food consumed, last time since sleeping, weather, color of shoe, hair parted to the right, etc ;) ) The boy can throw down when he wants too. We’ve been trying some of the Love and Logic tactics posted in a board on the Toddler section and it’s amazing. He actually puts himself in his room until he can be a nice boy. Crazy, huh?

Ally: Agree that PediaCare doesn’t help cough. Try Mucinex Kids or a plug in vapor thing. Those vapor things work wonders. Hope he’s feeling better today.

Sasha: ((hugs)) Here’s to a better week! So glad that DH and DS are ok from the accident.

Alien: UGH! Roto (is that what you finally determined that it was?) is a mean one. Feel better.

Kim: Happy Baby Month!! I saw your real estate drama over in the other thread. Hang in there, girl – actually big girl (you) and little girl (baby) who can not come before grandma gets there!!!

Diedra: Congratulations and welcome Ian!!

Tgray: ((hugs)) Hope miss thing is on better behavior this week.

Ok. Time to get serious about planning this 2nd birthday shindig.

diedra ~ DEFINITELY let us know how you like the cookbook when you get it... I'm so trying to stay away from ordering more books (i could go broke on amazon EASILY... for books i never have time to read anyway)... but that one sounds like it might be totally worth it!

kim ~ sesame street radio is on the computer... You have to use internet explorer with it - netscape/firefox won't work, but it just streams sesame street songs (which we LOVE over here)
http://www.radiomoi.com/player/skins/frame1.php3?u=SESAMESTREET&p=39ef4a1638285&b=1&player=2
There are actually a few computer games on the sesame street site that Nic can play too (well, he points and I mouse... or he hits the keys to make things talk) ...found that one day while pg and desperate to make the kid sit still!

So... Nic has started a very ANNOYING behaviour. Every time we are alone and I pick up/nurse Joey, he does this fake whine/cry. Its loud and oh so annoying... I'm trying to make sure we do Nic centered stuff while Joey sleeps, so its not like I'm never paying him any attention ... his sleep has totally tanked since Joe came home so I'm sure tired is a big part of it...but really.... SO ANNOYING!!!

Hope all the sick kids/moms feel better real soon!!

psusna - Welcome back, glad it was a good trip and J did well on the planes (sorry DH did not, LOL).

happy - Thanks for the SS radio link, definitely going to try that out!

Diedra - Yes, I am interested in that link for sure!

So last night we took Sarah to a Seder at my cousin's house and she was perfect. Everyone commented on what a well-behaved, angellic child we had. HA! Clearly we need to spend more time at relatives' homes so this "angellic" child appears more often. ;)

Reading along...

Diedra,
Yes, PLEASE let me know what you think of that book when you get it. I have a terrible obsession with buying cookbooks and not using them, so I'm going to restrain myself and see what you (and more importantly, Avery) think of it when you get it.

Kids radio
I know we have a Disney Radio station on our AM dial here (the actual call numbers are escaping me right now). The few times I've stumbled across it though, it seems to cater more to the Tween age-range.

I still have to do SOs but I wanted to say:

Happy Belated (yesterday) birthday to Rebecca, Chylynn's DD!

And it looks like I need to set up a new thread....I'll try to work on that this week sometime!

Oh hell...birthday wishes already???? Do we have to? *snif snif* I refuse to count Reece as turning his "weeks old" until 4:03 every Monday, so , lets be serious, you really think I'm ready for my big baby to turn 2? I don't think so....but since we have no choice in these babes growing up....Happy belated birthday Rebecca!!!

Wow... you're kidding right? 2 years old, already??? I am so in denial...although we do have the date of Nic's 2 year old party planned (may 19th - day after his bday) but thats as far as I go when thinking about it!

Happy belated birthday Rebecca!!!!!

Tgray: This is the thread (http://www.constantchatter.com/forum/showthread.php?t=30952)that discusses the Love and Logic tactics. I was shocked the first time we used the going into his room part. He walked in, stayed by himself for a minute or so, peeked out, went back in, came out and we asked if he was ready to be a nice boy, he said yes, and we moved on. So far we've only used it (alone in his room) for hitting and just plain inconsolable behavior.

DS played a matching game with DH tonight. It was SO cute! It's by Briarpatch Games (don't remember the exact name right now) and it matches pictures to pictures. He did really great! I might add the Memory game to his bday list....

Happy Belated Birthday Rebecca!

Happy 2nd Birthday Rebecca!!

I can't believe we are at 2nd birthdays!!

Diedra You know that I am going to get that cookbook, right? ;)

psusnaCan you tell me more about the car seat thing you bought. Was it worth the money. I am loathe to buy something like that unless it's really, really, really good.

Are anyone else's child acting strange this week? DS is coughing and wheezing a bit, not eating much and just plain acting out of sorts. It seems to be the case with most of the children in his class and Kindermusik class. Us parents are chalking it up possibly to seasonal allergies. The pollen here is so thick that everything is yellow. Just thought I would poll here and see.

I heart Love and Logic and Positive Discipline: The First Three Years!! It's been a frustrating week but we constantly give choices and slooowy, he is getting it. DH likes to lecture and explain but I am getting to him that short and sweet sentences and engaging only when good behavior is present will work in the long run. Neither one of us likes the yelling or time out corner, but man I have really wanted to post him on eBay a couple of times the past few days. :D

Thanks for the link, I'm off to go read it and see if it can help.

Memory huh? I might have to try that with Aidan. I never really know what will work and what won't.

I'm going to go to Amazon and see if any of their tactics might work on Miss Thing.

Hee...I've thought about boxing Aidan up and sending her to Houston many times. Terrible twos suck...terrible twos on my own sucks even more...I have a whole new respect for single parents.

new thread here:
http://www.constantchatter.com/forum/showthread.php?t=31813

haven't had time to update any stats. will get to it if Elle doesn't wake up...

on spring break now, thought i'd lend a hand in the new thread-ing. hope that's ok!!! haven't been around in forever. (couldn't resist....)

hope the new title is ok. wasn't sure if i should call it a Happy Birthday thread or not. we can ask to change the title if you all would rather it say something about it being 2nd b-day time.

hope you're all well,

Heather
