My ear has been hurting off and on for quite a while now--probably a few months. It finally got so bad that I developed a lump behind it. I went to the doctor, where he said the lump was a swollen lymph node. He prescribed some antiboitcs (10 days worth) and nasal spray.

I have 3 days left of antibiotics, and the lump is still there. Additionally, the pain came back. (Hurts when I move my head quickly or touch around my ear).

Should I go back to the doctor? We just moved, so I'd have to see a new one where we moved to. What can be done about a persistant ear infection?

I had recurrent ear infections several years ago. It was being caused/exacerbated by the battery on my cell phone, which would get slightly warm during long conversations. Once I got a new phone the infections stopped.

I don't really have much advice on the ear infection issue, but several years ago I had chronic tonsillitis and 2 lymph nodes behind my ear were so swollen that I went to the ER. I later had my tonsils removed, but even now I can almost always feel those lymph nodes behind my ear and they quickly swell right before I get sick, so it may not completely go away.
