DH and I are planning a trip sometime in May or June, most likely. We've been a to a few Caribbean islands, and thought maybe we'd try Barbados. Anyone been there? Did you enjoy it? I am looking mostly at a small boutique hotel there - the Coral Reef Club. Sandy Lane looks like it is probably the best resort on Barbados, but it is out of our price range. Coral Reef Club looks very nice and relaxing, and a little less pretentious (not knocking Sandy Lane, I'd love to stay there if we could afford it! But with rooms starting at $900 a night, I don't think so.). If anyone has been to the Coral Reef Club, I'd love to hear about your experience, and also what you thought about Barbados in general.
We are expecting that Barbados will be pretty low-key, which is fine by us. We plan to go for about 5 nights, 6 days. We would be interested in some activities, though we definitely like just relaxing by the pool/on the beach as well. From what I can tell, Barbados seems like a place we would like.
