OK, we are (for real) going to go to Jamaica finally.

We have settled on a couple days in Montego Bay, then 4-5 days in Negril.

I can't make up my mind which all-inclusive to try. (We do want to try an AI since we've never done that.) So, if you have any input, let me know! I'm going crazy! We are vegetarians so need good restaurant options, plus we'd like to be on the main strip of beach. Oh, and my husband requires a jacuzzi and a TV in the room. THANKS!

Hi! I went to Negril for my honeymoon in 2003. We stayed at Sandals Negril. We LOVED it. In fact, it's hard for us to vacation without AIs now ... and we compare everything to Sandals. It was an amazing vacation. But, we like to lounge and drink on vacation. They have a vegetarian restaurant at that Sandals. And, the beach that was just a step outside our room, was incredibly beautiful! Go to Rick's Cafe while you are there and cliff dive - it's so fun! Let me know if you have any specific questions.

One more thing - my friend went to Couples Negril for her HM. She really liked it, but compared to Sandals it was a little more "quiet." We liked Sandals because it was fun and lively and from what my friend said about Couples it's more romantic and couples tend to stay to themselves ... maybe not a party at the pool type of place ... hope that helps you based on your preferences.

Of all the places we've been, we found the Jamaican people the most friendly and the most appreciative to have you there. Service is awesome!

I've heard the same thing about Couples resort in that it's pretty quiet. I think it's appeal is for the romantic honeymooner. Also, if I'm not mistaken, there are no televisions in the room. Have you already checked that out?

But the 3 couples that I know have gone to Couples have adored the place and one couple is going back to celebrate their anniversary. They said it was divine. I think they were also allowed to go to other sister resorts that might have had a little more going on IIRC.

Still trying to make up our minds! Thank you for the input...I am such a freak about researching hotels.

I voted Other. I highly recommend The Caves in Negril. We stayed for a week and it was amazing. It's very intimate and laid back. Their website is www.islandoutpost.com.

Thanks--I have heard of the Caves and checked out their site, but we are looking for an AI experience for a change of pace.

Thanks, it's looking like Sandals is going to be the one!
