So everytime I go to Maui there is this house in Makena that I've always said, "SOMEDAY..." you know...that is waaaay expensive and you think will never go up for sale and maybe if you win the lotto or save like a madwoman until you are much older you could possibly do in the future? I know that Maui is very EXPENSIVE $$$$, but I wanted to share a little story... (I was expecting him to come back with 5 million.)

I was on Little Beach (aka the Secret Beach, the Wedding Beach, etc.) and there it was...the green house. FOR SALE! These are some pics I took last week before I saw the FOR SALE sign...

Then I was getting in my rental car and there it was...

So for grins I wrote to the guy and here is what he wrote back:

Hi Heather,

Thank you for your inquiry..
The list price is $8.3 Million (my bolding.) 6 Beds/5 bath. Approx. 3000 sq.ft including a caretaker residence above the garage (additional 1 bed/1 bath).
Addtional 1000 sq.ft. of outdoor lanais (decks) both covered and uncovered.

Please let me know if this might work for you. The seller is quite motivated <uuuh does this mean just maybe they'll do it for 7.5???>, and will entertain all resonable offers.

It sounds as if you are back in Florida? Are you planning another trip anytime soon?

Much Aloha,
Brad

Does anyone have around 8 million dollars I may borrow? C'mon I'll even share the house with you! LOL ;)

Anyone else have a "keep dreaming" house they've eyed?

Isn't little beach the clothing optional beach or am I thinking of something else..... Heck if I had the money I"d go in with you. I love Maui!

LOL thanks, everyone! Such trust. ;)

I think it may be clothing optional, but I am not sure...I've also heard that it is, but I think it is technically illegal to go nude on beaches in Hawaii. I've never seen anyone naked there either, but hey a hot guy or two would be alright by me! ;) And if it were MY house, I'd go nekkid out there too!

Oh yeah I have a keep dreaming house. It's called the Biltmore Estate in Asheville, NC!! LOL!

Either that, or the Marble House or the Breakers in Newport, RI.

On a less nuts scale, there is a house near Stanford that I just love - it looks like a little Italian Villa... on a small lot - so it's actually attainable - or it would be if I lived somewhere else but in CA. On the east Coast I could swing it... but it would then look out of place. Bummer.

Ah yes do you get to it by climbing up a steep hill from Big Beach? If so yes it is an unoffical clothing optional beach and I've both seen and been seen on it nekkid (back before I had kids). ;) Both times I was there there were only a handful of people "participating" but even though it's technically illegal in HI you can find the occassional law-breaker there. ;)

I dream of moving to Maui someday. That would be such an awesome place! Maybe we could make it the Official CC Vacation House and start pooling our money together to get it. ;) I wish! :D

Ooooh that is a GOOD ONE!!!

I think you can. I usually just go through the entrance LOL. Oh yes, I think people can just get away with the nudity in HI. I don't think it's really enforced. LOL

Okay, we can start a petition to Katy that instead of Vegas we will all stay in this house on Maui. We can come up with 8 Million between us LOL LOL!

What a beautiful house, and view! I wonder if they would take 7.5 million. That's all I can come up with. ;)

Yeah I have a dream house. It's built into a hill (not common in my hometown), has 3 full stories, a basement (also unheard of), a wrap-around deck on the 2nd floor, a beautiful balcony off the master, and has the best landscaping/lighting at night. It overlooks the bay, it's fabulous. But I have no desire to move back to my hometown, so every time I visit I just sigh and drive by with a pang of jealousy. I want *that house* in my dream location. LOL
