Hoping someone has input on this--I'm small everywhere else but have a gigantic (or at least disproportionately large) ass, and I have a really hard time finding pants that fit right. Does anyone have certain brands or fits they recommend? Things to look for? Other recommendations? Should I just wear skirts instead? Buy pants to accommodate the bottom and get the waist, etc. altered? Thanks! :)

Yeah, I fit this category -- hips about 3-4 sizes larger than the waist. Ugh! :(

The two styles of pants I've found luck with are ones I never would've guessed to even try on.

Liz Claiborne Audra style (available in most department stores):

And Investments Madison Avenue style (available through Dillards):

I don't even bother trying on any other pants anymore. Otherwise, I end up altering the waist. My advice is to find some time to try on all the pants you'd never think would fit your shape. I was stunned when I did that, even though my ego got a bit bruised in the process. Totally worth it in the (rear) end.
