So, I really like to eat cereal in the morning and sometimes for a quick snack. What kind of cereal do you find that you get the most bang for your buck, that tastes good, etc?

You can get 1 1/4 cups of Rice Krispies for 2 points. I've been eating that a lot lately. Add 1/2 cup milk for 3 points total.

I need to have fiber and protein in with my cereal in order to be satisfied. I like Kashi Go lean (crunch is too sweet, IMO) and something by Back to Nature I pick up at TJ's. I haven't tried the special K low carb (I'm not low carb, but most foods that add protein and fiber are labled as low carb) I like to mix whatever flake with plain old Shredded Wheat n' Bran 50/50.
And sometimes I mix it with DH's cinnamon toast crunch :o

Kashi Go Lean is the only cold cereal I have ever eaten that keeps me satisfied until lunchtime. DH only likes Go Lean Crunch, but for me it doesn't keep me as full and I don't like it with milk (I do mix it with fruit and vanilla yogurt for dessert sometimes).
Right now I'm on an oatmeal kick and that definitely keeps me full for a long time.

I love cereal and often eat it for dinner on school nights. ;) I'm not on WW, so I don't know how many points these are, but I like Kashi Autumn Harvest and Cinnamon Harvest (like Shredded Wheat, but better) and Heart to Heart. I also like Cascadian Farms' version of Raisin Bran.

I dig Fiber One, especially when I've been on WW.

I like the Kashi Go Lean Crunch. We went from super sugery cereals (thanks to DH) to no sugar when I was pg. This was a nice middle ground and DH liked it too. It's a nice snack too.
We also like their granola bars...yummy!
I think I'm going to have to check out that Kashi line since folks really seem to love it. I'm mostly a breakfast bar kind of gal (I go for the 3 pointers), but then again, by the time I wake up and wait the necessary hour that my thyroid meds require, it's nearly lunch :o So I go for the lighter stuff just to jumpstart my metabolism. Otherwise, I like oatmeal.

Another vote for Kashi. I've tried the Go Lean, Go Lean Crunch & Good Friends. I liked all three just fine, but my personal favorite is the Go Lean Crunch. The only thing I will say is that when I first started eating the Kashi cereals, my system uh....speeded up some? Within a half hour of eating a bowl, I was in the bathroom. Guess that added fiber wasn't something my body was used to and wanted to get rid of in a hurry. :o
Another favorite cereal of mine is Kelloggs Smart Start. Its on the list of approved cereals for pregnant women from my OB. I really enjoy it.

Our new favorite is the Kashi Vive Toasted Graham and Vanilla. This is the only Kashi cereal that DH will eat, because it has more flavor and "doesn't taste like twigs". I like pretty much all of the Kashi cereals, except for the puffed wheat (I just plain don't like puffed wheat).

I guess I will be trying out Kashi cereals too. I am feeling pretty unhealthy for suggesting the Rice Krispies. :(

Thanks, ladies, I'm going to try some of the Kashi cereals. I'll pick up some on my next grocery run. :)

I like pretty much all of the Kashi cereals.
Me too, except for the Good Friends. I hated the "fiber blossoms" and the cereal pretty much tasted like cardboard. I love everything else I've tried from Kashi, though.

I like Cheerios mixed with extra fiber AllBran. 3 points, including the splash of milk. Kashi (regardless of type) often doesn't agree with me. Not sure why.

I think Kashi tastes like cardboard. I still have some in my pantry that I bought in college.
I snack on Basic 4 in the afternoons, I love the stuff. I'd tell you the points if the *$^@)*&^$ site would ever work again.
Kashi Heart to Heart Honey Toasted Oat Cereal - yum!

Umm, why does that seem like an added benefit to me?:o

I have a 4 point cereal breakfast almost everyday....
3/4 cup Total Cereal
1/4 cup Grape Nuts Cereal
sprinkle of sugar (about 1/8 tsp)
1 cup skim milk
I have found it very satisifying ( i like crunch and i dont really like presweetened cereals)

Puffins (by Barbara's Bakery).
They have 6g fiber per 2/3 cup of cereal, are organic and incredibly filling; do not contain white sugar, hydrogenated oils, artificial flavors, colors or preservatives; and best of all they're delish.
I have celiac disease, so I can only buy gluten free cereals for myself. I buy Envirokidz cereals. They are also organic, and do not contain white sugar, hydrogenated oils, artificial flavors, colors or preservatives.

Hmmm, the only cereal I eat is Life cereal. I may have to try this Kashi stuff now, though. Does it keep the crunch? Once a cereal goes soggy I can't force it down.

It has been a while since I did WW, but I remember the best, most filling thing I ate for breakfast was Grape Nuts cereal. I think it was 1/2 cup cereal w/skim milk and a Equal for 4 points.

Cold cereal - I like Special K with Red Berries. It's 2 points for a 1 cup serving, and I'll have a bit of skim milk with it.
For hot cereal, I like plain old Farina (2 points per serving), with a dash of maple syrup.
I just bought some Weight Control instant oatmeal by Quaker--haven't tried it yet, but I probably will have some tomorrow. It's 3 points per serving, and looks to be a bigger serving than their regular instant oatmeal.

Special K Chocolatey Something or Other. Delish. It eat it on weekends and sometimes for dinner.
But I generally just have a Kashi Crunch! Caramel bar - they're to die for and only 2 pts.

i eat rasin bran in the morning. its the only "healthy" cereal i like and it probably isn't that healthy lol but i can't eat peanut butter captian crunch or lucky charms cos it's too sugary and fattening.
1/2 cup rasin bran
1/2 cup 1% milk
1 small banana
that fills me up untill lunch time.
it's 4 pts on weight watchers btw.

I asked DH to look for the Kashi Vive Toasted Graham and Vanilla yesterday and he came home with Kashi Go Lean (which I ate years ago when I did WW another time) instead. It's okay, nothing spectacular. Definitely not as yummy as the Toasted Graham and Vanilla sounds!
