I am having a c-section and this interests me...

The intelligent design of the Nursing Nest helps protect your Baby while bonding and feeding in the comfort of your bed. Essential for nighttime cluster feedings!! Patented design allows you to switch breasts without rolling over. Facilitates the Top 5 breast feeding positions. Busy moms love the Tabletop position as it allows you to multi task while breastfeeding your baby. Can also be used as a side sleeping positioner in a bassinet or crib to help prevent "flat head" and choking for babies with reflux.

Anyone have one? How did you like it?

I don't have one, but I don't see how it would be useful. Side laying is a bit hard to learn, but once you've got it down pat you don't need something like that. I wouldn't use it, personally. A pillow behind baby's back would work just as well

I dunno. Looks like a total waste of money to me, but maybe to someone it could be useful. FWIW I've nursed both of my babies laying down from the beginning (after csections) and never needed anything like this. And I can switch breasts without that too.

I like the idea of it. I was always very concerned about my son possibly falling of the edge of the bed and this would help prevent it. I put pillows behind DS, but worried about SIDS and him rolling over and suffocating on the pillow (yes, a bit paranoid, but I was a first time mom). Again, I think this would have allayed my fears a bit more since it is stiff not squishy.

I say if your bed is big enough to use it, it may be nice to have. Downside would be rotating everything i fyou want to nurse on the opposite side. You'd have to move everything over to the other side in the middle of the night. But some people only nurse from one side (I was never one to do this though). I like it.

My dd would never nurse in that position, so it wouldn't have worked for us. But it looks kind of nice if you can get your baby to nurse that way!

We've got a guard rail for the side for the bed so that wasn't a concern for us, and the other positions seem like a boppy would be even easier. And we use the boppy for a lot of things besides nursing. As for it stopping you from rolling over on the baby, if you're following safe cosleeping guidelines, that's not really a problem in the first place.

The only benefit I think there would be to getting this would be if you could nurse on both sides without having to roll over. I'm not able to do that, so I could see where it might be useful. OTOH, though, that would mean lying on the same side, in the same position, every night. Most of the time I'm glad to flip over to the other side!

We had a Snuggle Nest which I really liked. I had to take DS out for nursing, but he was right there and I wasn't coordinated enough to nurse side-lying for a few months.

I liked the Snuggle Nest because we were too nervous to have DS directly in the bed or in the other room in a crib. He was safe in the bed and we were all comfortable with the arrangement.

I'll be using it again for any other babies.

Ditto! I loved that thing. My DS was done with it at 6 weeks, but it was worth it for peace of mind when he was teeny tiny.

I don't think I would get something like this though -- seems like a waste of money!

Looking at this link here (http://www.peacefulpea.com/nursing_nest.html), It looks like this product is a real hit or miss. It has contours that keep the baby in a certain position and that is something that my DS would hate, because even when he was newborn he liked to move a bit while nursing. IMO, this wouldn't be ideal for side-lay nursing because it wouldn't allow for the baby to lay flat on his/her back once he/she was done nursing if you plan on co-sleeping. Most likely the baby will want to be snuggled up to you anyway. :) If you don't plan on co-sleeping and just want to nurse DC in bed, I think you would have a heck of a time removing him/her from that nest without waking them. For daytime nursing, it might be ok, but I think the Boppy or My Brest Friend nursing pillows (or even a regular pillow) would work better and are cheaper than that Nursing Nest.

I haven't tried that particular product, but I had a c/s with my son, and I didn't have any problems nursing while seated or leaning back in my bed. I used a Boppy pillow, and that's all I needed.

I never did get the side-lying nursing thing down.

I never could figure out side-lying nursing either. I think my boobs are too small for that...

I had no trouble using a boppy or just a regular bed pillow for nursing after my c-section. Actually, nursing after my c-section was 100 times more comfortable than nursing after my vaginal delivery!!

Ditto here; I was able to nurse DS from 3 hours after his birth (also a c/s) using a Boppy and a football-hold. Side nursing also wasn't and still isn't a problem even with my still smallish nursing breasts. :)

i have it and it's awful. it's probably the worst baby product i've ever purchased. i have no problem nursing side-lying, but we co-sleep and w/ dd i had to open up one side of a sleep positioner so i could nurse her and have her go back to sleep kinda up against me w/ out me having to hold her (kinda hard to explain ;) ) -- so i bought this to use w/ ds in case he was the same way. it's really, really hard, i would feel bad laying him on it for a second, so there was no way he could sleep on it and that's really what i was looking for. i've tried to nurse with it once and my boob couldn't even reach -- it's really ridiculous. i probably should've tried the nurse and glow for what i was looking for. really what would be perfect is a snuggle nest open on the mom's side.

eta: i couldn't lay on my side for the first few weeks after my c-section anyways, it hurt way too much, i had to be in a position where the incision felt like it was being held together. i had to sit up in bed and nurse -- which was also a total pita and hurt like hell when getting up.
