I noticed that 3 sweaters of mine are starting to really get fuzzy with those little balls of fabric. I dry clean 2 of them and gentle wash the other, so I know this is mostly from wear. I used to have one of those shaver things in high school but I don't remember it working well.

Looking to see if anyone uses one or has a more efficient trick.

I would say sweater shaver. It always seems to work for me!

I try to not buy sweaters that have acrylic in them. Those are the ones that tend to pil the most and it drives me nuts. I never found a trick to stop the balls other than not buying them!

Man, that sucks. My favorite cashmere sweater's now pilling, and I'm scared to use one of those shavers on it. I'll be interested in seeing if anyone else has any suggestions.

I have read that you can use a regular razor on sweaters, but I haven't been brave enough to try! I wear either wool or cotton sweaters, and I notice it mostly on ones that are wool. It drives me crazy. Sometimes they show up after the first wear!

We can put a man on the moon.....can we not come up with cashmere and wool that doesn't ball up??????? Good luck. Perhaps just stick with the tedious pluck pluck pluck?

My cashmeres have held up pretty well which is why I rather save up and buy those. But when the Gap and BR have a sale, you just can't resist. Actually, the BR sweater pilled the worst in less than a month of wear.

I'm going to try the shaver and see. The razor sounds too iffy to me.

I love my sweater shaver. The key is to only shave on flat surfaces--you will cut the fabric if you shave along edges and cuffs. To shave the arms, then, you have to keep turning them and re-flattening them.

Sweater shaver. I have one by singer. Love it!

Yep, I've done this with success. Keeping your sweater flat, just lightly flick at it with a razor. Only problem I've had is when the fuzzies are gigantic, but it's easy to pick those off anyway.
