View Full Version : When did you suspect that you were pregnant?

I'm just curious to know how long after you conceived did you suspect that you were pregnant. Were there physical signs that made you go "Hmmmm... Could I be?"

What made me wonder (and hence go test) was that I had 4-5 days of cramping with no spotting or AF.
This time, I wondered b/c my DS refuesed to nurse and I was feeling dizzy/ill.

I didn't go hmmm til I was almost 7 weeks along. The reason was my Grandmother who I was super close to died & I thought from all the stress from that was messing up my cycle. Little did I know I was pregnant. And that was the biggest shocker since I wasn't planning on ttc til this year.

When I was 8 DPO I felt a sharp cramp (implantation) and had a bit of spotting a couple hours later - which I never got pre-AF. I was charting and I noticed a temp jump the next day which continued until I got my BFP (on 13 DPO).

Honestly I had no clue until I realized I was about 4 days late and I'm always on schedule. Looking back I realized I'd been dead tired, but attributed it to work stress. Whoops.

A few days before AF was due to arrive.
I woke up hot and sweaty (usually i'm all bundled up) and then also realized that I hadn't been craving chocolate at all (which normally before AF arrives i'm a chocolate addict) and matter o' fact it sounded DISGUSTING (like chewing sand?!!?). Weird and random...so I tested and got a line!! The first line I had ever seen after TTC for a year! :D

I was 3 or 4 days late and the thought of trying to drink my morning coffee made me nauseous. I tested and got a positive.

My suspicions were attributed to:
1. No falling temps on my chart
2. Going past 10 and 11 dpo with still no AF (my LP was always short)
3. A few very random/short bouts of nausea/dizziness a few days before I got my + HPT
Other than that, everything else was normal! Little did I know. :)

I had very prominent blue veins on my bbs at like 8 dpo. That's when I knew that I had to be pregnant, although I didn't test until 11 dpo.

Before I even missed my period I was clued in.. The tea I drank every morning gave me the worst heartburn. I tested the next day and it was positive.

Seriously, I didn't think I was pregnant, but I felt an urge to POAS, and low and behold. ;)

For me it was my chart... it looked very different than other months.. .and then those temps just kept on climbing...

For me it was 12 DPO (I usually get AF 11-12 DPO) and I had absolutely no PMS symptoms. The only thing strange is that I was crampy, which never happens before AF. I knew something was going on.
That night I checked out my chart and noticed that if I ignored one temp which I took at not quite the right time, I could definately see the second temp jump.
I took the test at 14 DPO and really wasn't all that shocked when the line came up.
I knew b/c the temps on my chart weren't falling.
I'm trying to decide if I'll chart when we TTC #2. It might be nice to be surprised! :)

I was charting, and I suspected it when my temps didn't fall 11 dpo like they normally do. Then they just went up and up. I was pretty sure it was going to be positive before I even tested. :D

Like the others, I was charting. I had my largest temp jump post O that I'd ever had on a chart. 5-7 DPO I had light brown spotting that went away. 7 DPO I also had major implantation pains. On 8DPO my BBs were super full and tingly --- POAS and a *very* light BFP.
As of today still very few, if any symptoms.....The early ones were what clued me in. Without those I probably still wouldn't know!

The first sign for me was the emotional breakdown I had for some minor reason (around 5dpo). I spotted a few days later, which turned out to be implantation spotting. I definitely knew after that. :)

I realized that my period hadn't come yet, but shrugged it off. I waited about 5 more days and it still hadn't come. Took the test on my birthday, and the line showed up practically immediately. It was and always will be the best birthday gift ever.

I had been charting for 6 months and TTC for 2. However, it was the 3rd month (when I wasn't charting, wasn't really paying attention to TTC and distracted by a lot of other things) that we got PG.
We had gone to FL for the weekend and although I didn't know I was PG at the time there were some tell tale signs in hindsight. I was dead tired (which I attributed to a whirlwind weekend trip) and on that Sunday night I felt so nauseous (which I assumed was from the rides at Universal). Oddly enough, I ordered only non-alcholic drinks that weekend.
It wasn't until a week later when I was at a concert at school and a 5th grade girl sang a solo to "god bless the U.S.A" and I got weepy did I realize something was screwy. I'm emotionally dead inside so for this to tug at my heartstrings I knew something was up. Sure enough I got a +hpt (and then spent 2 days in denial...even though we were trying the reality of it freaked me out).

Just got my BFP today at 9DPO!
I have only been charting a month, but my chart looked good with BD timing and temps so I was hopeful. I really thought I might be at 7DPO when I got crampy and had spotting.

We weren't trying, but we weren't preventing...we were in "whatever happens" mode. I hadn't been charting at the beginning of January because several things interrupted my sleep and it made it worthless to attempt.
The night we DTD, I remarked to DH, "Watch...this one will get me pg." Sure enough, about two weeks later... ;)
I had a strong feeling when I picked back up with charting and my temps were being funky. I didn't have anything to compare it to for the first half of the month, but based on my previous charts, they were definitely weird. On the day I would probably have gotten my period, I tested and got a line.

My post O temps normally look like the Rocky Mountains and this cycle they didn't. Every day my temps we going up and up so I started to think I might be PG around 7-8DPO. I held off until 11DPO to test and got a faint line right away. Sore BBs and some cramping were my symptoms but I always get sore BBs right before AF so...

My normal pre-AF spotting never turned into AF. Never really thought I could be until I was 13 DPO and the spotting had lightened, not gotten heavier! The 2nd line came up right away on the internet cheapies. :D

I *wondered* if I may be pg when around 8 and 9 dpo I started getting a dull ache in my abdomen...of course I immediately thought "Hmmmm, implantation cramping????" Lucky for us it was! :D

DH and I had to go to Vegas for a wedding 1 week past ovulation. The night we got in I felt a little funny. As soon as we walked through the casino I was overwhelmed by the smoke smell - it made me nauseous. Then I saw implantation spotting right before bed. The whole trip I was exhausted, gagged at the smoke, loss of appetite because of the smoke, and my boobs killed.

I wasn't charting, so I don't quite know what DPO I was, but my first symptom was that my nipples were so sore! Pinching was out of the question, and they aches from being in my bra.
I didn't think much of it, because with my history it was just laughable that I could be pg. We were travelling far away for my SIL's wedding, so i contributed it to flying and stress. A week later, I was feeling really bitchy and really tired and still had the sore nipples. I made a comment in my LJ, and my ttc friends got me to test. You could have knocked me over with a feather when the line came up! I've never seen anything as beautiful my whole life :D With betas, I think I go tmy BFP on 18DPO, give or take 3 days either side.
Looking back, i had alot of the classic symptoms. Incredible fatigue, sore throat, heartburn, swollen ankles and nausea (plus the sore nipples) but i had rationalized the all away :p

I got my BFP this morning, on DH's 30th birthday!
I wasn't certain, as I never charted and some symptoms could have been normal PMS (sore BBs, feeling tired) but in hindsight, I did realize I had a heightened sense of smell and lower back pain but thought they might be me trying too hard. :)

5-7dpo: I kept getting nosebleeds. It was so weird, I even called the doctor about it. When I looked online I found it's sometimes a pregnancy symptom.
11dpo on: leg cramps at night, nausea, and sometimes things smell funny.
I've had just about every FPS in the book, so I just figured it was all coincidence until I got those 2 lines on 12dpo!

I was charting and felt ovulation (this baby is comes from the left ovary...) and then seven days later felt implantation. I told DH that night but he wasn't convinced until we got a BFP about three or four days later.

first pregnancy-i was having weird baby dreams, woke up one morning and just decided to test. it was positive before i even put the stick down.
second pregnancy-lots of bloating and gas about a week before bfp. i mentioned to dh something was going on. then i started to have to pee all. the . time.
so i tested, and got the faintest of a line, tested 2 days later, a little darker. even at the drs office it took a while to get the positive. but at 31 weeks, i am defiently pg!

Hmm...I obsessed every month and really didn't have the many different symptoms.
My biggest sign was spotting on 5&6DPO. I was initially very excited, but after doing a chart gallery search on FF, it showed all implantation spotting at 8-10DPO, so I wrote it off. Looking back, considering it was the only month I spotted mid-cycle, I considered it implantation spotting.
My bbs were sore, but I got that FPS every month. I also was getting up to pee every night after 8-9DPO...again, I had done that in months prior, so I tried to blow it off.
My temps usually dove around 12-13DPO, when they were still up at 13DPO, I tested and got a FAINT positive.

At 13 DPO, I woke up sweating and feeling like I was about to spontaneously combust which was way abnormal for me. I tested and up popped the second line. I also had fatigue but attributed that to everything else that was going on at the time.

I was charting. So, for me the first sign was me waking up extremely early in the morning after I ovulated. Usually, before - during -after, I'm a dead to the world sleeper and need an alarm clock. So, I really starting thinging that I was pregnant, and attributed to the hormones surging and waking me up.

I had implantation spotting DPO7 and my nipples felt like there were glass pieces in them. I knew I had a good chance, or FPS were the evilest things in the world. I took a test at DPO 12 hoping it wasn't negative. It turned positive very quickly and pretty dark.

About 5-6 dpo, my boobs hurt so badly I literally wore my bra to bed. We were not "trying", but it really made me look at my chart (I was charting to avoid) and start thinking- "uh-oh!" Needless to say, I was and it was honestly the best uh-oh I could have ever imagined!!! :p

This was our first month trying so I wasn't really expecting to be pregnant. When as my AF was obviously late in the past week it became harder and harder to not play mind games with myself wondering if this or that was possibly a symptom.
For the past few days my breast have been tender and sore. Last night as I was eating dinner I bent over my plate and went, "Ow, my boobs hurt honey! What the hell?" I've also had slight cramping around my stomach which I don't typically have as a PMS symptom (it's usually my shoulders and lower back). Lastly my CM never dried up and continued to be present up to present day following what I gather was my ovulation time. I'm typically a 28 day cycle and today on CD33 I finally tested and got a BFP. :)
Since we just started this month I didn't "actively" chart, rather kept notes on things that I could look at down the road. The way I am, I knew that if I had all the data in front of me at any one time I'd start getting terribly nervous - and I think that helped me to curb my nerves immensely. I'm going to write these down later today so I can finally see all the data in front of me and write it down for a pregnancy journal.

It was totally out of the blue, as we weren't really trying, and I had no idea I was late for AF, but I was driving in a bad rain storm and terrible traffic on the way home from work talking to DH on the cell phone. I was getting really upset and antsy, and DH said "What's wrong? You must be pregnant?" So when I got home I tested and surprise surprise!! :)

The first pg, I knew because I threw up as I was getting my teeth cleaned at the dentist's office. I felt sick, and I kept saying, "I've gotta leave!" The dentist kept saying she wasn't done yet, and then I threw up. She asked me if I was pg,and I said I wasn't. Later in the week, after throwing up all week and convincing myself it was the stomach flu, I got a +.
The second time, we weren't trying. I just felt... weird. I wanted to sleep and sleep. I also wasn't loosing any weight, despite some exercise and eating well. I picked up a test from Target (where it seemed that all of my HS students were checking people out), picked up DS from daycare and took the test-- + again. When DH got home, I was holding DS who was holding the test. Surprise!

I was charting - and I still hadn't gotten AF at 11DPO (although there was some question to when I actually O'd) and my LP had been really short the prior 2 months. I took a test then and it was negative, but I just had a weird hunch I was wrong.
My nipples were the size of dinner plates and I was exhausted. I got a BFP at 14DPO and I actually didn't believe it at first. I told a few of my close friends and they were all like, "A line is a line." I FINALLY believed it at 16DPO when I took a digital test. My DH didn't believe it until I was 12 weeks and we heard the heartbeat!
Oddly enough, this all happened exactly a year ago. Good times! Good luck to all of you waiting and testing :D

It is kind of funny...I NEVER believed people when they say that they knew the minute they conceived, until it happened to me!
We had tried (I charted and whatnot) for over a year and then decided to prevent (Since we were moving to a new state). Then, 3 months after moving we decided to stop preventing again. The first time DTD, I just had a feeling.
11 days laters I kept having this feeling - I don't know how to describe it other than I just felt not 100% myself. Plus, my nipples/bb were very sore for several days (which usually only happened during AF) and I had cramps, but slightly different then my normal pre-AF cramps. I tested and sure enough it was positive.

I had no idea I was PG until the two lines came up. I had laparoscopic surgery to diagnose/remove endometriosis (we had been TTC and were unsuccessful). We tried about 2 weeks after my surgery totally not expecting anything. Even though I was charting I still didn't think there was a chance that month until the day AF was supposed to arrive and my temp was up. I went out at lunch and bought a test and took it in the bathroom at work. At first no lines at all showed up and I was mad because I had gotten a bad test and then to my surprise two lines showed up. I seriously thought I was seeing things. I don't think I really believed it until I took the other test later that afternoon!

I knew almost immediately this time around. I started having rashes that I had when I was pregnant with DS, itchy raised bumpy rashes that only appeared in the humidity. Weird I know, but I was only like at a week past ovulation. I kept saying to DH that I was pregnant and he would just laugh and say it was coincidence. I tested4 times, got 4 VERY faint lines and he stopped believing in coincidences!
First time around, I was 6 weeks or so and was just acting weird-tired, grumpy. DH joked that I could be pregnant since af was late and I laughed it off. Finally took the test and got a nice dark line. We were so happily surprised (it was our first month trying).

My boobs itched like crazy. I was moisturizing like a nut, I had no rash or anything and they just kept itching. Someone told me that was their "symptom" of pregnancy.
I wasn't due for AF for two more weeks (long cycle) so I laughed it off. Two weeks later I tested and got the line :D

With DS #1, I suspected at 10DPO when I was thirsty beyond belief. Then at 12DPO, I burst into tears for no good reason at all.
With DC#2, I suspected at 6DPO, when I had pincy-type cramps on one side and lower back pains on the same side. Looking back, it was probably implantation happening. At 10DPO, I again was super emotional and moody.

I was in complete denial as I had had a m/c the cycle before last and we had decided not to TTC for a while. I figured AF was late due to my cycles being out of whack but finally broke down and tested one night after I was about a week late. In hindsight, I'd had the same symptoms I'd had the last time I was pg - early morning waking and extreme tiredness.
