Regarding spoilers:

I REALLY wish Sami would have told the truth about EJ and all. Now she's going to be pregnant, and it'll probably be his, and it's yet another thing to blow up in her face. I love Sami and Lucas and I don't want to see them destroyed yet again, so soon. I don't recall the reasoning behind her not telling them about EJ's involvement in the rescue, but it surely would have been more beneficial to tell the truth for once. Dammit, Sami.

The actor portraying Connor is HORRIBLE! He is annoying the heck out of me. It's also starting to annoy me that Sean and Belle may not get custody of Claire. That is soooo unlikely. Other than that...I'm enjoying it.

I was most like Hope in the quiz... second choice was Marlena. Um, no! At least they've stopped writing the line "Oh John/Roman, I love you so..." So what?? That has always annoyed me.

The Billie/Nick thing made me sick at first, but now I figure - why not? At least he's a college grad, not just graduating high school. I hate Chelsea, so anything to make her miserable works for me.

I like Max & Mimi, too; but I wish Shawn D & Belle would run away... they both grate on my nerves.

Here's my little gripe with the show: just because Belle/Phillip and Mimi/Shawn are no longer together doesn't mean that they can't live in their respective lofts, right? I mean, when Phillip decided to leave Salem who said that Belle couldn't go back to the loft (that presumably is owned by her dad since it used to be Isabella's, right??) and live there? Same with Shawn and his conveniently-located-across-the-hall-loft? Nobody told anybody that they had to go shack up with a hooker or move in with her parents.

But then again, this show isn't exactly OD'ing on realism.

I think when Phillip left, Belle went to live with her parents so that she would not be alone. When Mimi and Shawn split, Mimi kept the loft and Shawn moved in with Willow @ the YWCA (I think?!) and then later their own apartment. Mimi couldn't afford to keep the loft so she then moved in with her Mom and Patrick (and Billie and Cheslea) but it looks like she may soon be moving in with Max! But I agree..it was like they all abandoned the loft apartments.

Willow tells Hope that she is pregnant with Shawn's baby.... Hope contacts Shawn to tell him and Willow or Phillip or Victor traces the call or over hears Hope talking to him and locates the runaways.

Willow lies about being pregnant, and Hope warns her not to mess with her family.

Shawn & Belle go to Toronto, Willow learns about the where and tells Philip. Shawn gets jailed, and Phil tries to lure Belle from the safe house.

Sami & Lucas may be making plans for a wedding, but that is not who Sami will end up marrying

Kate is going to set up Sami, to expose her non-rescue of Lucas.

Shawn contacts Bo for money...and then is arrested after the safe house is raided

John wakes up from his coma and does not remember anything about the shooting

I'm starting to feel really bad for Sami. (The problem here being that I think of her as a real person...) She keeps trying to put her life in order, but then the writers go and screw with her and keep her on the wrong side of the tracks.

The whole Belle/Shawn/Philip/Victor storyline is ridiculous, but then again, if everyone was living happily ever after, they'd have no story to tell. For now, I have to think that they are just having us root for Shelle because they will be together in the end.

Yeah, Shelle will be together regardless, so I'd just rather the writers keep them together and not throw anymore third parties between them. I'm attempting to go spoiler free as the show has been so entertaining lately.

Gosh, I looked at it and immediately pronounced it "Sierra". Now that we know the spelling of her name, guess the big surprise will be how they pronounce it!! *cue baby name threads here*

I think it will be prounounced Sierra. I just think of the hard pronounciation as beginning with a K like Keira Knightley. Ciara in Italian is prounounced Key-are-a, but I don't think that they would go for an Italian name considering the Brady and Horton backgrounds.

Ok, so the show has been boring for me the past few days.. been doing a lot of fast forwarding, but I have to say I was really enjoying the scenes with Chelsea and Nick on the plane! I have never really liked her character, but now that she is maturing a bit I'm kinda liking her! I really like the way she and Nick played off each other, pretty cute!

Kayla has to perform major surgery on John to remove an organ.

EJ threatens to come clean with Lucas to tell him that Sami's baby may not be his!

After finding out that her father's ring has her blood on it, Mimi leaves Salem.

Lucas finally proposes to Sami the week of Feb 12 - 16!

Philip believes Belle, Shawn and Claire are dead, but Bo finds a clue that tells him another story!

Turns out that Max does have feelings for Abby. Look for some interesting twists!

Chelsea meets Nick's boss when she starts working at University Hospital.

Abby and Jed make friends at Salem U. Abby will be shocked when she finds out he is related to Willow!

Willow tells Shawn that she is pregnant with his child.

Shawn wants to move forward with his relationship with Belle!

Damn good question... I've watched this show for 22 years (gosh, am I really that old?) and I never knew why Stephano hated them, just that he did. I haven't watched today's episode yet, but did briefly see where Kayla was arguing with EJ on the TV screen. I was pretty shocked yesterday that the writers actually had EJ say "I'm going to take that child and raise him to be just like his grandfather." That gave me chills. Are there really people who know that they're evil and relish in it? I thought most people (other than sociopaths who don't generally have children that they raise to be sociopaths) had a sense of remorse and hope for better things for their children.

Okay, I remembered something from a few years ago about a long-ago fued between the Dimeras and the Bradys in Ireland, but I couldn't remember the details, so I googled it and I found this, which totally made me LOL. It's pretty comprehensive, though:

Thanks Peppy. I could never understand how the writers jumped from somewhat logical Roman v. Stefano storyline to the totally ridiculous Dimeras v. Bradys.

As camberne pointed out, there is really no reason why EJ should go to the extremes he is, unless of course, you decide that all Dimera men are insane. Which, eh, is better than nothing I guess. Of course, Tony was good back in the day, so I am not sure how that fits in. The whole thing is dumb.

Let's see the Dimaras have: kidnapped and mind erased several of the women (Marlena, Hope); kidnapped and mind erased and in some cases surgically restructured some of the men (Roman, John, Steve); kidnapped and stranded too many couples to count (in castles, on islands, etc); and now possibly knocked-up Sami (apparently with some sort of super, boy-only sperm). If anything, the Bradys should have sworn a blood oath against the Dimaras!

When Shawn and Belle return to Salem, Philip will be focused on business, and a baby is left on their doorstep...

EJ orders a paternity test done on Sami's unborn baby.

Steve is ordered to kidnap Sami, but accidently gets Willow!

Kayla finds Willow, and lets her go, just as her water breaks!

Sami and Willow end up in the hospital giving birth to their babies on the same days.

Willow's baby will die, and Sami's baby will live; but the babies will be switched and Sami and Lucas will believe that their baby has perished! Willow soon finds out about the switch, but keeps the baby!

A DiMera soon finds out about the baby dilema. And it's not EJ or Stefano!

From what I've read on soapcentral, the regular actress was sick and they needed a temporary recast for Abby.

HOWEVER, the regular actress (Ashley Benson) is in fact leaving the show soon so she can star in the movie "Bring it on 4." Whether the role of Abby will be permanently recast when Ashley Benson departs is unknown. I have a feeling they will send Abby to England to be with her parents.

EJ is the epitome of tall, dark & handsome. I could listen and watch that man read the telephone book and be enthralled. But, I've had a "soap crush" on the actor who plays EJ (James Scott) ever since I first saw him when he used to be on All My Children.:)

The idiots at AMC made a big mistake killing off his character.
But their loss is DAYS' gain cause that's how we got the HOTTEST looking villain on daytime! :D

* I read that Anna will be returning this summer. I love seeing the old characters come back, so I am really happy about that. I can't remember why she left in the first place, but for some reason I thought she was dead. It is hard to keep track!

* Does anyone else remember when Tony wasn't actually Stefano's son? Or am I making that up? It was really early on when Tony was still somewhat good.

* It seems like EJ is being positioned to be a good character, which makes me happy. Even though she just got married (10th time's the charm!), I would like to see Sami with EJ because I think the Allison Sweeney has much better chemistry with him than with the guy who plays Lucas.

* I am laughing at John's quick recovery from the coma! Drake Hogestyn looks a little thin though. Has he been ill?

Sami and Willow end up in the hospital giving birth to their babies on the same days.

Willow's baby will die, and Sami's baby will live; but the babies will be switched and Sami and Lucas will believe that their baby has perished! Willow soon finds out about the switch, but keeps the baby!

In regards to Jeremy (who I also completely abhor with what they've done with him - I was SHOCKED to realize he was Mike & Robin's son with the way he acts!!) he could conceivably be a mix between Roark Critchlow's Mike Horton and Derya Ruggles' Robin. She had such amazing blue eyes and a plain, but really pretty face. Roark was such a pretty boy... I didn't like him nearly as much as I absolutely adored Michael Weiss. Maybe he'll come back to whip Jeremy back into shape... I miss him since The Pretender went off the air and his recurring role on Crossing Jordan ended (I guess). He was so much fun!!

I was right about Tony! :D I am not sure why I am taking so much pleasure in anticipating a soap story line, but I am happy that this is going the way that I wanted it to. Maybe this whole Dimera thing can finally be brought to a close. The story lines are still a little rocky, but they are so much better than they have been in the recent past.

Yeah, this REALLY, REALLY bothers me on a personal level. There is NO.WAY. that any woman would "befriend" the person who raped her or have constant contact w/him. ^^ITA, with your view on Sami/EJ. As EJ said on Tuesday's episode "she doth protest too much". EJ is clearly on the path to redemption. The writers totally botched the whole thing. They should never have even done the rape s/l anyway IMO since they intend to keep EJ on the show. Now they have to dig themselves outta this whole mess. Sami's pregnancy would've been just as dramatic if Sami/EJ willing had sex.

^^The original Andre/Tony storyline started in the 80s when I first started watching as a kid. Evil Andre had plastic surgery back then to pretend to be Tony. However, Andre was presumed dead. But of course, dead is all relative when you're a DiMera! :p

I'm also really surprised at how quickly the show has been moving lately! I still belive that EJ is the father of one of those twins. A DiMera/Brady baby just seems to good of an idea to pass up for the drama that would be involved.

As far as Belle/Shawn and $$$....the money drama is just a plot point to keep Philip in the picture IMHO. For once I was thrilled with Marlena that she pointed out to Belle that Belle could also do things to help out her family.

I think he was abandoned at the hospital and Kayla offered to take him in "temporarily" thinking Steve would fall in love and she could keep Pocket forever and ever and raise him as her own ;)

He's "Pocket" b/c he was so tiny that he could fit in your pocket (according to Steve), but I didn't think he looked any smaller than your typical baby... :)

What's going on with John Black's character - are they really killing him off???

I'll put it in white since I don't remember what we agreed for spoilers in this thread.... this is from Dustin's Days Page.

In the newest issue of Soap Opera Digest, which should be on most stands this weekend, there is a huge story on the death of John Black and an interview with Drake Hogestyn about leaving the show and what is next for him. Unfortunately it really appears that John/Drake is being killed off, unless Days is planning to pull a huge hoax on everyone. As we all know, nobody ever really dies on Days.
Also, his contract does expire this month.

Thanks for the info, LDS Angel. You know, I can't say that I am sorry about that outcome. I wish they would have just killed him off cleanly instead of dragging out all of this bedside good-bye nonsense, but I think it is beyond time for his character to move on. Nothing really new or interesting has happened with him & Marlena for a long time.
I wonder if they are going to bother to tell Brady that John is dying?

Oh, so it's true!! I have been out of town for several days and saw the magazine while in line at the market today about John's death. I didn't know whether to believe and I'm shocked to hear that it's already happened! I figured it would be dragged out for months.

On the cover of that same magazine was a blurb about the return of CHLOE (in white).... same actress. Blech.

as much as I hated John, I was all teary eyed when he was dying today. I mean he's not a great actor, his kissing scenes are beyond gross and his smell the fart looks were the worst but I was still sad to see him go.

According to spoilers, Chloe will be in a s/l with Phil. The actress was lured back because she was told she would have a "good storyline" w/Jay Kenneth Johnson (Phil) who she has enjoyed working with in the past.
We may be seeing a new romance, but who knows, we may be in for another quad s/l too.

What I want to know is...where is Brady Black?! His father's dying and his wife is returning to Salem soon. Something's not right.:confused:

Even though the writing has been on the wall IMO that John Black's DAYS were numbered, I'm still in shock that they're killing him off in such a random way. It would've been better if his death were related to the DiMeras and the vendetta storyline. Now we'll never know about John Black's mysterious past before he came to Salem, or who his father is!

John was hit by a car. Apparently, he is really dead, but whatshername...the clairvoyant one...just said that "John will be a restless soul", so maybe they will do some haunting for awhile.

I have to say that although I am not sad to see John go, I am sad for Belle. I lost my dad 7 years ago, and although it's a soap opera, it's getting to me big time. Has had me in tears.

I was surprised how real the tears/grief seemed for many of the actors. I am not sure if that was because they are really that sad about him leaving the show; they are getting better direction; or if they are actually much better actors than previous storylines have allowed them to be.

On another note -- what was up with Marlena's ginormous cross pendant? It seemed a little over the top.

Who are we going to make fun of now??? Vjel, especially for his smelly fart look - classic!!! John wasn't my favorite character but he definetly was a major part of the show and I'm interested to see how they will fill the void (Marlena) after he's gone (even if his ghost does hang around for a while :rolleyes: )

I'm not going to lie, this has been very hard for me to watch. It really hit me hard when Marlena went home and sat in her room and cried. I knew my mom did that after my dad died.

I really am surprised that they killed him off. And you know it is for real this time, they never really show this many flashbacks when someone is coming back.

But really, only on soap opera's can someone die and a family member not make it, like Brady. When my dad died my brother came from NY to VA. It's usually a 6 maybe 7 hour drive. It took him over 15 hours because my SIL just had surgery on her ears and they couldn't go through any tunnels. They literally had to go way out of their way, but they made it.

Did I miss something? They went from the service to the next day in the same episode. They never do that, it's usually the next day when they do something like that.
