Anyone else have this? I've recently discovered I had it. Not sure if you are aware of the products out there to make it look "less inflamed" but I use Calm & Correct Cream by Joey New York. Available from Sephora.
Anyone have any remedies? What an annoying condition it is.

You need to see a dermatologist for rosacea. Most OTC products will only irritate it more.

Go see a dermatologist - you'll be so glad you did!
My facial reddness had been getting steadily worse for a couple of years. Then I started to get small bumps on my cheek after using Neutrogena Pore Refining Cleanser (it has retin-a which is really harsh for my skin). When it didn't go away after a few months, I finally went to the dermatologist. She said I have mild rosacea and prescribed two creams for me to use.
I wish I had gone sooner! The redness and bumps started to disappear right away. I have Azelex cream and metronizadole cream - she said I should try both and see which I like and right now I use a combination of both.
Thanks to the dermatologist, I haven't touched my concealer in over a month! Plus, I can use a sheer powder foundation instead of the liquid foundation I used to cover up my redness. My skin still isn't perfect like it used to be, but it's 90% there.

I don't have rosacea, but do have another skin condition. My derm RX'd a topical med. I'm BF'ing my baby so I talked with a lactation consultant to make sure the med my derm RX'd was okay to use. Anyway (there is a point to this) :) she told me that she has rosacea and she uses jojoba oil on it and it works wonders. She's one to use homeopathic remedies over modern medicine so I thought I'd suggest that. Some places they sell it are health stores, Trader Joe's and Whole Foods.

I have it but very mild. This is the skin care line I use:

Don't let the name bother you, they started as a company for acne sufferers but have expanded and have items for rosacea.
My face is no longer splotchy or red or bumpy and I find that I don't flush as easily. Well, unless I drink a lot of hot beverages which are one of my main triggers. But, even then it goes away quickly.

I actually have been to a dermatologist, both DH and I have it and - get this - the derm gave DH a "steriod" cream that just went haywire on it. It was aweful, he didn't want to leave the house for MONTHS. Literally, it was that bad.
I've found that Joey New York Calm and Correct - From Sephora (http://www.sephora.com/browse/product.jhtml?id=P7395&categoryId=4253) seems to work pretty well - but I was hoping for some miracle cure! I check the rocesea.org site consistently. I need to like, SLATHER on makeup constantly to even out my skin tone.

I'm an adult acne sufferer, but I suspect I am probably in the group who has a high potential to develop rosacea.
My mother-in-law has battled rosacea for YEARS. She's tried just about everything from topicals like Metrogel and Metro cream to orals to OTC to herbal remedies. She recently switched to a new dermatologist who recommended a new prescription product called ROSULA. Specifically, the Rosula aqueous cleanser and aqueous gel (a treatment). Well, her skin is GORGEOUS now, clearing up in a matter of weeks. The product is a sulfur-based active ingredient and it also has something called urea in it that acts as an exfoliant.
My acne has been awful recently and she told me to try her stuff. I've been using it for two weeks now and my skin is dramatically clearer. Everyone has noticed.
I have to warn you - Rosula's worst feature is the SMELL. It's nasty. Kind of eggy because of the sulfur. DH hates to kiss me when I have it on, but he says he'll deal with it because ITS WORKING!
Not sure of the prices - it depends on your Rx plan. MIL gets it for $10 each. My Rx plan only allows me to get it for $45 each, but it's worth it.

I have rosacea on half of my face. It's annoying yet nice because I can see how clear and soft my skin can be, but also annoying because that makes me realize how bad the other half is. I've been using Metrogel 1% for about 6 months now and at first I thought it did a pretty good job, but now I think the rosacea half is actually worse than before. I'm going to call the derm's office but I don't really know what else she can give me. I don't want to take antibiotics or heavy duty retinol. Does anyone have any suggestions or anything that's worked for you?
PS - I saw an ad for Rosula and I'm tempted to try it, but I'm a little hesitant since it's a new product.

I'm trying to figure out if I have rosacea. I went to a dermatologist recently and he wouldn't say anything other than it was either adult acne or something else, and that it didn't matter - it's all treated the same. He wanted to put me on oral antibiotics, but I am thinking of TTC in the next few months. So he gave me a prescription for Triaz and Cleocin (topical cleanser and lotion)...I'm too afraid to fill the prescriptions. I have very dry, very sensitive skin, and everything I read about these prescriptions says that your skin will get red and peel. Um, I don't want that! I know it may get better, but I'm still scared to use them. I want to find a new dermatologist to get a second opinion, but I just moved and no derms are taking any new patients for a good few months. Sigh. My main symptoms are small red bumps around my chin/mouth area, and on my forehead. Rarely are they big zits, just red bumps. And sometimes they are in patches. I do tend to flush easily when stressed or when drinking alcohol. I think it's rosacea, but I guess I will have to wait to see another derm to determine this.
Sorry my post is long-winded, I'm just frustrated, and I can relate with everyone here. I am using Eucherin Redness Relief products, and some days my skin looks better, then it gets worse again. At the advice of my derm I am limiting anything with a fragrance (that means no perfume or hairspray, fragrance free soap and deoderant, fragrance free detergent, no fabric softener, etc etc). I do use make-up still, against my derm's advice, but I limit it to light powder, a little concealer, blush, and mascara...I am not going out in public without make-up and red bumps all over my face. I can't even seem to find a sunscreen that doesn't cause me issues, even the $40 bottle of Clarins non-chemical stuff I just bought. So frustrating to deal with, especially since I pretty much had perfect skin up until recently! Ugh.
first off before saying you have rosacea, anyone should go the dermatologist. i thought i had rosacea bc my face can get pretty red. my dh thought i had it too. i've been to two dermatologists. one said my skin was fine. i went to another who said i had sebo psoriasis. that basically means that me skin doesn't effectively produce natural oils which makes my skin scaly and dry. this lack of natural oils is what makes my face red. in addition, my skin is very sensitive and very few products don't make my face red. in fact, water itself is irritating to my skin.
i have tried almost all the eucerin line products and the two i like are eucerin redness relief soothing cleanser and eucerin Q10 antiwrinkle, sensitive skin creme. for daytime, i use nuetrogena visibly firm face lotion, spf 20.
in regards to ttc, my derm wouldn't prescribe me anything. he basically just told me soap and water was safe. that wasn't very helpful, but i have found with the right products i have been able to keep the dryness away.

Susan, I've dealt with perioral dermatitis and rosacea. Both have red bumps that aren't zits. For me the perioral bumps are smaller than zits and just little red bumps. The rosacea bumps are larger and less zit-like.
