I will be getting married in St. Thomas while on a cruise. The cruise ship will not allow me to bring fresh flowers on board(we are not using the cruise ship coordinators).

Did anyone do a silk flower bouquet? Please post inspiration pics. I'd like to do something more tropical.

TIA!

I had a silk flower bouquet - not what you are looking for, but here it is anyway:

I wholeheartedly recommend them. They look beautiful, don't wilt, and are MUCH less expensive!! :D

I used silk flowers from Annie and Company (http://annieandcompany.homestead.com/home.html). They do amazing work!

Thanks. :) I got the flowers at Crafts 2000 (http://www.wtol.com/global/Story.asp?s=4576711), a craft store near where I live. It's sortof like a Hobby Lobby. I think the supplies (flowers, ribbon, pearl pins, florist tape, pearl sprays) cost me about $25 all together. The bouquet took me about two hours to put together, but it might take you less time if you're more experienced.

I have LOTS of pictures in my signature (knot bio) we used all silk, and we loved them! I bought them at craft stores, local floral stores, Walmart, etc. Anywhere I could find them!!

If you have any questions, feel free to PM me! I still have my bouquet and I love it! My mom and I made all the arrangements so they have special meaning now!

I'm thinking of doing silk flowers also, because I'd like to do my own flowers and I don't want to have to worry about them the day or two before the wedding. Also, I'm planning a beach wedding and silk flowers seem more durable. I love hydrangeas, but have heard they wilt quickly in high temps, plus I'm worried about sand getting in the bouquet. Shaking it out of silk flowers sounds less damaging to the bouquet.

I am very allergic to real flowers and so we did all silks. They looked amazing and the best part about it is that I STILL have my bouquet, looking as 'fresh' and beautiful as it did 2 years ago. :) I know that several of my bridesmaids still have theirs as well (in their homes somewhere for decor or whatever.) I had a local florist who usually does 'real' flowers do the silks. He did a great job!

Another huge plus with silks is that we were able to pick them up a week early. We then could ensure that they were 'exactly' what we had ordered and we didn't have any bouquet problems at all. If there HAD been any problems we had plenty of time to have them corrected.

I would recommend doing silks to anyone, even those who are not allergic! :)

I haven't gotten mine yet, but we are using silk flowers...

Mine are custom made from www.wedideas.com - I'll post my pictures when I get them, which is before they ship out. All my flowers (5 bouquets, 3 corsages, 7 boutineers) cost $200.
