I thought I saw one once on Food Network but now I can't remember.
All the ones I'm finding on line ask you to cut the dough and roll each individually. I thought for sure you roll the whole thing into a log and then cut off each cookie.
help

I'm not good at pasting webpages, so I hope this link works. If not, it's the Barefoot Contessa's (Ina Garten) rugelach recipe on Food Network. Just search rugelach on the main page. It's not a log recipe, it's one where you make circles of dough, cut in triangles and roll. I saw her make them on the show and they looked great -- they've been on my list to try. Actually, MIL made them last night, which I'll try tomorrow. If I think of it, I'll come back and post a review. Good luck! :D

That is the method I have used to make them in the past. They are very labor intensive, but delicious! :)

Am I thinking of a different kind of cookie then? I swear all the ones I've had were more like a pinwheel - though I could tell they were not baked laying open side up. Either way, they weren't like this type of cresant roll.

Hi!
That's an interesting recipe, I've never seen a log rolled one before. Let us know how they turn out!
I tried MIL's when I got here yesterday and they're quite yummy. Different than what you get at the bakery/deli though, less flaky, a little softer and more cream cheese in flavor. I guess I never realized that the dough had cream cheese in it. But, they're really good!
