I asked my mom for a cute pair of black pointy flats from Jcrew for Chanukkah. They arrived yesterday, and I love them - BUT they're a bit too big, and I ordered them in their smallest size - 6. I have those inserts in, and it helps a bit, but I need a tiny bit more "snugness". Do I have to return them, or is there some other way to make them work?

You mention inserts, and I'm assuming you mean inserts in the footbed of the shoe. Have you tried putting in those pads that go on the inside back of the shoe? They're meant for cushioning, I'm sure, but they might give you a bit more snugness.
Something like this? (http://www.drugstore.com/products/prod.asp?pid=57863&catid=882&brand=9446&trx=PLST-0-BRAND&trxp1=882&trxp2=57863&trxp3=1&trxp4=0&btrx=BUY-PLST-0-BRAND&cmbProdBrandFilter=9446)

That's exactly what I need! I knew I'd seen something else at shoe stores besides the footbed inserts. Thanks so much :)

You should check out the brand Foot Petals. They have all kinds of cushioning and padding products for shoes. I usually find them at Nordstrom, and I use them for that exact reason - to help a pair of shoes fit better.

I got these shoes recently and when I tried them on in the store, they felt fine. After I wore them for a day, they streched a bit and now they kinda flop off of my heel a bit. I noticed that no matter how snug I try to get any pair of shoes similar to these, this happens.
What can I get to put in these shoes and others like them to make them not flop anymore? I'd hate to just totally walk out of the shoe and make a fool of myself. :D

On www.footpetals.com, they have a variety of shoe inserts.
There is a product called "Tip Toes" that sticks inside the shoe in the area under the ball of the foot. It is supposed to provide cushion as well as prevent feet from sliding forward.
Then there is "Heavenly Heelz" - they have a variety of uses. They can go on the back area of the shoe, behind the back of your heel - this provides cushioning and stops heels from slipping out of shoes. They can also be used in other parts of your shoes to help with fit/sizing.
I've use a combination of both of these products, and they really help! Sometimes, I also add the "Haute Heelz" cushion on the bottom of my heel - really helps prevent my feet from slipping forward.
What I like about Foot Petals, also, is that they are very pretty and don't ruin the look of the shoe or make them look "orthopedic." They come in several colors to match the shoe.
I have all three of the cushions I mentioned above in black in a pair of black high heels and you cannot even tell they are in there, they just blend in and look like a part of the inside of the shoe.

Baxter78, thanks for the info. It's all so helpful. I feel like there's hope for me and my flopping shoes. :D

Oh! I am so excited to see those foot petal deals. I have crazy narrow heels and every shoe becomes a flip-flop on me. Not fun!
