"Dressy side of Casual"

ILs are sending DH & I on a mini-vacation for our one-year anniversary. We're going to a Mystery Dinner Cruise and MIL said to wear something on the "dressy side of casual" but she didn't really know what she meant LOL
All we know is that it means no shorts and tee-shirts.

How would you interpret this? And give examples if you wish :D We're going shopping regardless of if we have the right stuff already on hand or not LOL

I'm mostly wondering about myself, but if you have ideas of what DH should wear, feel free to post that as well :D

For DH: Khaki pants and a casual short-sleeved button up shirt.

For you: A more casual skirt with nice t-shirt and sandals or a pair of black capries with a nice shirt is what i would wear.

DH will be so disappointed LOL... he claims he "must" go shopping because he has nothing to wear... but he's got about 8 pairs of khakis LOL... eh, it's vacation, I'll let him shop :p
