Has anyone made lobster bisque before that has a recipe that they like? I'm planning a special New Year's Eve dinner for DH and he loves lobster bisque. I've searched on Food Network and Epicurious and all the recipes are pretty similar, so that tells me something, but I was hoping that I could get a recommendation on a recipe that one of you had cooked before and enjoyed.
TIA!

I don't have a recipe, but I'm on the hunt for the right one after having it from 3 different places. I am going to try to avoid using any food starch as a thickening agent. To me, that takes away from the delicate flavor of the lobster, and the richness of the cream. I noticed this in a bisque I ate last night (and no, I'm NOT always out for lobster every night :p)
I think I'm going to start with this (http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Perfect-Lobster-Bisque/Detail.aspx) recipe but I'm going to make lobster broth instead of using chicken broth. I'm also prepared to cook the soup down, over very low, slow heat until it's thickened, rather than adding any thickening agents. Anyway, sorry I don't have anything tried and true, but hopefully will have something soon!
