I know a lot of people frame their invitations for display after the wedding. I'm wondering if anyone who used Envelopments or another kind of alternative invitation had any ideas for framing these kinds of invitations.
Mine look like this, and I used a 7x7 Envelopment and the paper with the wording piece being about 6.5 x 6.5 or 6.25 x 6.25 (I can't remember)

If I can't think of anything, I'll just frame the wording part, but I thought maybe you creative ladies could think of something!

hmmm..maybe you could put it in a shadowbox frame. and have one closed, and in front of that have one that is open?..does that make sense? this way you can atleast see the folds.....not sure if this helps but.....=)

I have the same problem bc I used a rectangular pocketfold. For yours I would put it in a square frame so it would be a square diamond inside a square. I'd matte it (well, have it matted) to give it more depth.
But... I keep asking myself how often I will actually look at it. I mean, I honestly don't even know if I have a whole invitation in Italian left for myself. I'd probably have to make another :o. I think I might frame the text layers with a picture of us in next to it, with maybe the newspaper announcement next to that (all in the same frame, sharing one matte).

kk junebug - Thanks for the idea! I'll definitely look into that!
tlew12778 - I know what you mean about looking at it. I just put a ton of work into the stupid invites, and I think I need to have a little more "payoff" from them. I did think about framing it like you suggested, but I think it would be HUGE! Maybe 12x12 not including the mat or frame. That's fine for a normal picture, but for an invitation, I don't know.

I would just cut it down to the square with the text and put it in a chunky frame. that's just me though, i am a minimalist when it comes to this kind of stuff.

Someone framed our invite for us as a gift - archival quality, sealed on the back and everything - so I never bothered w/ anything else. I did square pocketfolds, but I think the framing is just the invite w/ the pocketfold backing (ie. the center square portion of yours, more or less), which almost 5 yrs later now is just fine w/ me. In fact it's hanging in our hallway and I walk by it every day and honestly I have no idea exactly what part of the pocketfold made it into the frame! :p I have a "keepsake box" of wedding junk ;) and inside the box are a couple of leftover fully assembled invites, in the event that I ever want to show anyone - again, not that I have for the last 5 years!

We had the rectangle pocketfolds. Our wedding ended up being in a magazine, so I have the article framed on the wall. There's a picture of the main invite portion of the pocketfold in the article. I look at the article everyday. It makes me smile. :)
Maybe a picture of the invite in with some other wedding pictures would work?
I also have a fully assembled invite (along with program, menu, etc.) saved in a memory box. I've only gotten it out once in 3-1/2 years, but it was so sweet to look at.

Thank you all for your help and suggestions. I ended up finding this really cool floating frame at Target, and since it's square and so was my invitation, I just framed the wording part of the invite.

I'll keep thinking how to frame the entire invitation though!
