Hi all. I'm headed to New Mexico (flying into Albuquerque) this week for vacation. I'll be there for a few days and am looking for recommendations on places to visit, restaurants to eat in, and what cities/sites are the best. Right now I have no plans in place, just going to get there and decide where to go and what to do when I feel like it. I'm game for almost anything, from museums to nature. Any recommendations would be terrific, maybe even a hot springs recommendation (I hear the area has some great ones!). I'm thinking of hitting the northern part of the state, but am totally open to ideas.
I know this probably fits better into the travel forum, but this forum gets so much more traffic - if it needs to be moved though, I understand.

Any help or ideas you give would be great.

Thanks,
Cat

You might want to check the travel section. :) I think there may have been a thread there if you do a search.

I agree with HeatherFL to check out the US section of the Travel forum...

DH and I went to Santa Fe a couple of months ago and really liked it a lot. It is about an hour and a half north of Albuquerque. I don't remember there being too much in Albuquerque itself, but Santa Fe has a lot to do. Inside SF (http://www.insidesf.com/) has a lot of recommendations for shopping and food. Some of our favorite restaurants were The Shed, Rooftop Cantina, and the Chocolate Maven. Cafe Pasqual's is also supposed to be very good. There is tons of shopping, a lot of it is very expensive. There are also a lot of art galleries.

ETA: And museums too. On Friday evenings there is free admission to the Georgia O'Keeffe museum and one other (fine arts maybe?).
