I wasn't really planning on seeing Wedding Crashers until I saw the interviews with Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson respectively yesterday and today on The Today Show. Now, I'm thinking that it's gonna be one that I drag the hubby to this weekend. Everyone (both VV and OW and also Katie Couric) said that it's a "definate R rated film" so not appropriate for the kiddos. How convenient that my son is out of town! :p

I definitely want to see this movie and probably will on Sunday...for a matinee. If not this weekend, then sometime next weekend. I am sure it will be PACKED this weekend!!

Hmmm, I just like watching Owen Wilson :D I think he's so sexy in such a non conventional way. Anyone else agree?

DH and I plan on seeing it this weekend...we think Christopher Walken is a RIOT!

we think Christopher Walken is a RIOT!Us, too, sarahh!! He is such a GREAT creepy guy, that when I see him in lighter roles, I just eat it up!! I love him, and I understand he has a great little dance in this. I can't wait!! I might just take a long lunch tomorrow and catch an early show... if my husband is uninterested.

Cliff and I are planning to go see it Saturday afternoon or evening. I hope it's as funny as it seems like it will be! :)
ETA That is so sweet about Walken having a dance scene in this!!! :D

He LOVES the Fatboy Slim "Weapon of Choice" video because of Christopher Walken's dancing. He laughs the ENTIRE time! :p

Woohoo, it's official... my husband doesn't want to see it so I can go for a long lunch tomorrow!! :D
I can't wait to see this movie. I love VV, OW and Rachel McAdams.

Just got back from seeing it.
I was horribly disappointed that Christopher Walken did NOT have a cute dancing scene. When he asked his daughter to dance, I got all excited and sat forward in my seat... *sigh* and it was just a dance. He actually plays a rather minor role with some funny parts.
The movie itself is DEFINATELY NOT for kiddos. Oh my goodness!! I've never seen Jane Seymour, one of my favorite actresses ever since she was Serena on the original Battlestar Galactica series, in a role like this. Holy Toledo, Batman!!
It was raunchy, vulgar, and (at times) extremely hilarious. Unless you have a really good relationship with your mom, don't go with her!! ;)
There was one line by Owen Wilson that was fantastic. I should have written it down the second time someone repeated it. The imdb doesn't have any quotes yet... but it's a line about true love.
Isla Fisher steals the show, in my opinion, as Rachel McAdams' sister, Gloria.

Okay, we just got back and granted it is not for viewing with kids or parents (at least my parents). However, I have never laughed so hard in my life, Jeff and I both loved it. There were tears running down my face from laughing so much.

We saw it last night and were laughing out loud the entire time. In fact, everyone in the theater was laughing a lot. I have a huge crush on Vince Vaughn and loved him in this movie.
I agree with camberne that Isla Fisher is great! I loved her character.
When we left the theater DH said this is one we will have to buy on DVD since we want to see it again.
ETA: oceaneast~ At one point DH said,"I am laughing so hard, I am going to puke."

OMG, I totally forgot this movie was starting this week! I'm trying right now to get my DH to get up & run down to the theater to see it tonight...but I don't think I'm going to be able to tear him away from his computer. :( I think this movie looks so funny, & reading the reviews of it here just makes me want to go see it even more! :D

We also saw it this weekend and it definitely deserved the R rating for raunchyness! But we LOVED it. I wanted to turn around and go back in and watch the later showing (yes we're old...we go to the 7:30 movie). I am so going to buy it when it comes out on DVD.

Hmm... I guess I'll be the one who disagrees. I didn't like it, and didn't really think it was all that funny. I don't know, it seemed too clique and like they were trying too hard to be funny. It might be that I don't like Vince Vaughn though... he's the same character in every single movie he's in! I mean, I guess it was okay, but not a movie I'd recommend to any of my friends.

Hubby and I both loved it - he still holds that Old School was better but I think it is a toss up. Totally plan to buy the DVD.
Camberne - I think the line you are looking for is something like:
"True love is the soul finding it's counterpoint in another."

It was funny as shit! Ben & I saw it Saturday. We loved it. Thought the ending was a little corny...but whatever. The rest was good.
Anyone else see this?
Vince Vaughn...yum!
My favorite line was from the beginning, when the wife (was that Rebecca DeMornay?) says "you shut your mouth when you're talking to me.
I loved the movie, I thought it was hilarious.

The whole movie was funny as shit. We loved it and laughed the WHOLE time.
But yeah...no kiddos allowed!

I haven't seen it yet, but I've read some positive reviews on it. So, I really want to go see it. It seems like a good summer movie - lots of fun. I'm glad to hear that you liked it also.

We just saw it tonight, soooo funny. We haven't seen a movie that funny in awhile, would have been nice if we had a baby sitter for our 8 year old, for several parts I was like  and had to cover her eyes. I agree NOT a kid movie but we have no family near us so finding a sitter we can trust is hard for us.

Cliff and I *finally* got to see if yesterday, too. I'm so happy I finally saw it! :D I love Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson. Vince is so freaking dirty - it's awesome! I laughed my ass off the entire time, and it was just what I needed. :) We'll definitely be buying this on DVD at the first opportunity.

We just saw it a couple of horus ago, and I'm still laughing! "Ma, the meatloaf! F*ck!"
I can't even BEGIN to imagine taking my 7 year old, though. His ears and eyes would have been covered from beginning to end of the movie.
The quote about true love was:
"True love is the soul's recognition of its counterpoint in another", I believe.

DH and I both LOVED this movie. DH's favorite line was by VV in one of the first weddings..."She just eye-f*cked the hell out of me..." haha!

I saw it this weekend and wasn't all that impressed. I LOVED Old School and liked Starsky and Hutch...but this one just didn't do it for me as much as the others. I think part of it was that we saw it in a smaller town (it was sold out at our local theater) and the audience came off as really unsophistocated and laughed super-hard at some things that just weren't that funny. We're talking screaming, snorting, foot-stomping laughter. There were entire scenes where DH and I couldn't follow the dialogue because people were shrieking and snorting about the slapstick comedy going on onscreen.
Maybe if we rent it later I'll like it better. But DH and I were both disappointed considering how much we'd liked Old School.

DH & I loved the movie as well. We agreed that it was disappointing that The Dan Band wasn't one of the wedding bands. They were in "Old School" and "Starsky & Hutch", so I was waiting for them to make another wedding band appearance!
Aimee, I think you'll like the movie better when/if you watch it at home. I hate annoying movie theater audiences!

DH and I saw this movie this past Friday. OMG we laughed so hard! Tim's favorite part was Vince's impersonation of the "motorboat".:p We also loved Will Farrell's cameo as well. DH was so surprised they didn't show that in the ads for the movie. I told him that that was the free gift you get for coming to the theater.;) That one may be worth buying I think although we'll have to make sure none of my young cousins grabs it to watch when they come over.:p

I agree! DH and I went to see it last night and I can't remember the last time we laughed so hard watching a movie and to think, I wasn't even that excited to go see it!! It was definately worth it and I can't wait until it comes out on video!! :D :) ;)

Saw it this weekend--funny!
My sister and I were dying over the gay brother character. For some reason he was the funniest to us.

I'm definitely in the minority here because I really didn't like the movie at all. I haven't seen either of the leads in a movie before, and I found Owen Wilson really really irritating. He just seemed to be trying too hard to act, especially in the "serious" scenes.
There were some funny moments, but overall, I would rather not have wasted my money.

hehe I loved it :) I've seen it three times and have laughed my butt off every time. I'm not normally a fan of the "frat boy humour" movies..i think they're all the same and i'm sick of them, but this one was actually hilarious. "let's go shoot some birds...I'm psyched" haha

Saw it this weekend & thought it was really funny! However, DH & the other couple we were with were disappointed. They didn't think that it lived up to the hype & that it was more of a rental than a night out.
