I know that the Centerpiece Gallery is already up and running, but for the most part, it consists of very beautiful flower arrangements. I thought this thread would be useful to brides who are looking for an alternative to a traditional flower centerpiece. Please share pictures if you have them!

*Note that I said low-flower, no-flower centerpieces - for brides who still want flowers in their centerpieces, while remaining on budget, a lot of these include a few stems of flowers, as compared to a lot, significantly cutting your cost while still making your tables look beautiful. :)

Would look better if the candles were lit

To save on my flower budget I didn't use flowers in my centerpieces. To go along with my fall theme I used wheat sheaves on some tables and black wrought-iron candleabras on others with silk fall leaves and fall toned rose petals scattered around. Unfortunately, I don't have any scanned pics of them. :(

These were made by the bride and her bridesmaids using Swarovski crystals and basic craft wire. Once the lights were out and the candles were lit, the entire room sparkled!

Unfortunately I don't have any pics scanned in but for our centerpieces we used a mirror and hurricane lamp and had red rose petals scattered over the mirror and one stargazer lily on a corner of the mirror. It was very cost affective and worked out well.

I wanted something striking and inexpensive for centerpieces. Although I've seen some lovely arrangements with candles, that is not something I wanted for my wedding. What we are doing is filling fish bowls with cranberries, filling them with water and then floating 3-4 cymbidium orchid stems on top and possibly adding a sprig or 2 of hypericum berries. Too bad I don't have a photo to show, but it really is a beautiful look, inexpensive and something I feel confident I can DIY very easily.
Each stem has between 8-13 flowers, but I will be buying them in 10 stem bunches because that's how the wholesaler operates. For $200, plus the vases and cranberries, I have enough flowers for gorgeous centerpieces for all the tables, including escort card and cake, for the bathrooms and to use on the cake.
