Thanks for the kickass thread Lisa!!!
My first doctor's appointment is November 15th.
I tried to get a blood test to measure my HCG level, but the NP said there's no point. I suppose I'll just have to wait.
I think I may schedule an acupuncture appointment to calm my nerves (and use some sticky points).

Ladies - I am soooo tired - and having a hard time concentrating on work. agh! normally if I feel like this I grab a diet pepsi - don't think that is going to work right now.
sorry for the complaint - I am truly happy for any symptom I get - I just wish I could get myself focused on work!

Love the new thread!!! I would be volunteer to be a co-TM but I am too nervous to commit. If I make it to our 2nd thread and we still need one I will help.
I had my appt today. They agreed I am pregnant. I got an u/s too!!! They really couldn't tell much though and he said I am probably just over 4 weeks. I did get a pic though. I will scan it and post it later if Adam gets off the desktop. If not I will soon. I go back on November 21 for my second appt and u/s. They said they will give me a EDD then.
I am not tired at all! I wish I was. I have more energy then normal and can stay up later and want to get up earlier! I bet that doesn't last.
ceaserbride
11-07-2006, 05:53 PM
Annie! Glad your 1st appointment went well...but I can't believe you have your 2nd appointment & ultrasound *before* I even have my first appointment (& that appointments just to "talk")! So glad everything went well though. Can't wait to see the u/s pic.

Ceaserbride-I really can't believe it either!! I am kind of in shock that I am getting all that. I think he knows that my last m/c was really hard on me so he is being nice:). I might not get that pic posted tonight DH is playing WOW and it doesn't look like that is coming to an end anytime soon!

11-07-2006, 08:24 PM
Thanks Lisa and RobynScott!
My appointments:
Nov 6: doc and bloodwork
November 13: u/s and follow up from appt/bloodwork I had 11/6
Nov 15: prenatal nurse for family history etc.
Dec 20: u/s and doctor
My appt schedule is weird--they saw me quickly yesterday due to my depression-related concerns, etc. and I have a f/u with doc next Monday. Originally, Nov 15 was to be 1st appt, and that's just the nurse. Then Dec 20 was #2 for 1st u/s and 1st appt with doc.
So, ceaserbride, I think my original schedule was more like yours. And by the way, I'm strangely jealous that you've had nausea. :) I've had vague hints, but not the real deal.

Our first appt is Nov. 27
this thread is so fun!

Annie, that's awesome. I'm so jelous that your doc is doing so much!
I haven't really had any other sypmtoms. My cramping is pretty much gone (which oddly enough, I want back). My boobs are still a little sore. I'm waking up between 3:30 & 5:30 every day...that's a bit obnoxious. I don't really have any nausea. I suppose I should count my lucky stars. But I really want to feel pregnant. i suppose that will come soon enough.

I was feeling the same way - but I decided to commit - I'm just going to try and enjoy every minute of this pregnancy from the very beginnintg and pray for a healthy and sticky bean!
this thread is so fun!
Agreed!
I'm feeling the same way. Though of course, I had some cramping last night and got scared  My boobs are HUGE (and they weren't small to begin with) and still hurting a bit. I am so exhausted at night. I have maybe a little bit of nausea but not really - more like feeling like I need to eat. of course, I am also finding I don't have that much of an appetite right now. I've been jonesing for my diet pespi (I usually have one in the afternoons to wake me up) - but none of that.
Last night I fell asleep on the sofa in the basement with the tv on - which was actually good. This way, when I work up in the middle of the night I watched election coverage instead of tossing and turning ;)
Otherwise feeling ok. After the cramps last night I was so nervous I would see something this morning when I woke up - thankfully nothing!
I've aready turned into a freak - there was a woman near me on the train coughing away and it was really freaking me out. Not that I thought anything would happen - but I definitely think I was more bothered by it than I otherwise would have been.
That's about it - hope everyone has a great day! I'm sure I will check in more often than I should ;)
- Robyn :)
Annie, your dr. is doing a lot, that great! I wish I was getting an u/s in Dec. but I'll have to wait until 16-20 weeks! It will go by quick...hopefully.
Browneyedgirl I've been getting up ealry too! Last night I didnt go to bed til about 11 and I was up at 6. I'm never upi that early. I kind of like it though.
I feel better so far today. I havent taken my prenatal yet. It makes me so sick...ugh! Ethan is at school and I tons of laundry to do and errands. How everyone has a great day.

5 weeks, 2 days
Since those of us here so far have pretty close due dates, it's neat to see the similarities. I think I share with most of you the waking up veeery early a.m., less appetite, mild if any nausea, and of course sore boobs. My cramping and other ab twinges has greatly decreaseed the past couple days. Can I rightly say that we'd all like to "feel more pregnant?"
I have appt changes:
Nov 13: cancelled (u/s moved to 15th)
Nov 15: prenatal nurse & u/s
I had blood drawn 2 days ago--nurse called with HCG level today. Doc said I'm on target, but I looked at stuff online and freaked out that mine seems low. DH is out of town, and I just lost it with him on the phone. But now I see that there is a super wide range and that the increase is what's important, not actual #s. I have 2nd blood draw today, so I'll have to wait and see if I have the proper doubling or whatever.
I'm learning that I'm someone who needs to put down the damn pregnancy books and back away from the internet.

And by the way, I'm strangely jealous that you've had nausea. :) I've had vague hints, but not the real deal.
Haha, I didn't have any this morning and was thinking "It's okay...you can come back a little bit just so I feel preggo!"
But I really want to feel pregnant. i suppose that will come soon enough.
ITA..and I *can't wait* even more to look pregnant!

Me-Well not much new. As mentioned above I was kinda sad that my nausea was gone this morning. Also I feel like a terrible wife. Last night dh put his hand on my bum when we went to bed and I freaked on him.."Just DON"T touch me!!":o Poor guy...I hope that feeling goes away soon.

Maybe too personal of a question, but I'll ask anyway...
Does sex feel different now? We were doing the deed and it felt almost painful. The best way to describe it would be feeling a lot of pressure internally.
Anybody else have anything similar?

Browneyedgirl- Misionary feels the same, I think but once during rear entry position it felt like my cervix was *really* low..I think, and it hurt. I doubt that helps you, but hopefully. Maybe ask your dr. about it at your next apt.??

Ivory, glad to know I'm not alone ;)
The crampiness scares me even though I know it probably shouldn't - and that it's probably just my uterus expanding. If I hadn't had a blood test, I would swear AF was on her way at any minute.

:p Mark those words, because when you are going to hit 38 weeks, you'll be DYING not to feel pregnant anymore lol
Soon enough, trust me!:D
Also, the sex thing, I was nEVER comfy having sex at my last pregnancy, and it doesn,t looks like it will be better this time around...VERY uncomfy for me. LOADS of pressure, not fun!:(
I had this humongous test today, it was 3 hours of brain work. I'm SO dead. I had a hard time thinking, and I'm realising that I'm already hit by the baby brain thing, I've already started to forget things...
My first exam is coming up though it is dec 12 can't wait to see the doc, confirm this pregnancy, and have an U/S. ONE month left baby, one month left!

I got the results from my lab work today and they were positive! So then I was able to schedule my first appointment; it’s on Dec. 13th .
From my calculations I’ll be 10 weeks. That seems like a long time to me; I just want to be told that everything looks good and healthy.
I went to Barnes and Noble tonight a bought a couple of books on pregnancy. One is a weekly guide and one is on healthy eating and exercise. Is anyone else freaking out about what they can or can’t eat? My appetite has almost disappeared but I am trying to make healthy choices anyway.
My symptoms (ie. Nausea, cramping, and sore BB’s) seem to have tapered off the past few days but I wouldn’t mind if they came back, just a little bit, so this would all seem more real to me!

Ok, I guess it's time for me to join this thread -
Kazata, 33
TTC: Since July '04
BFP: 11/03/06
EDD: July 12, 2007 (based on LMP, but I may have o'd early)
Gender Prediction: DH thinks boy
Any other children: none
I can't quite believe that I'm pregnant - this has been a very long journey for us, as we've been ttc'ing for more than 2 years. In July of this year I had surgery to remove my right fallopian tube and despite that I ovulated from the right ovary this cycle (I had monitoring ultrasounds), I am pregnant! It's amazing what our bodies can do. :D
Because of the previous tubal issues I was at risk for an ectopic pg. but I had an ultrasound yesterday which showed the gestational sac in the uterus, right where it's supposed to be. I've also had 2 bloodtests:
11/4: HCG 1153, prog. 17.1
11/8: HCG 4467, prog. 13.4
My RE's office wants my prog to be above 15, so they put me on progesterone suppositories yesterday (3 times a day - at 200 mg, which seems like a lot compared to others).
Initially, I thought I didn't have any symptoms, but after reading through this thread, I did have the early waking thing every morning between 4 and 6 a.m., and I was initially incredibly hungry. About an hour after using the first prog. suppository yesterday I came down with nausea/hot flashes and the nausea has not gone away. My emotions have been on a rollercoaster. Part of the time I am incredibly happy, thinking there is no way anything can go wrong, and then something happens (like the low progesterone) that freaks me out, and I think my body isn't doing what it's supposed to be doing. The nausea isn't helping my mood either, but I feel like I need to stay positive.
Ok, that was a really long introduction....
Oh, I have another doctor visit on 11/15 for an ultrasound to hopefully see the heartbeat!
ivory: I'm with a lot of you, I want to "look" preggo sooner! I'm just so excited.
It will happenn soon, very soon and I'm with cosmogirl and when it happens you'll be so done being pregnant but this is my 3rd and I feel like its my first I cant wait to show but I know come May I'll be so ready to have this baby!!
Today I went to Motherhood and bought this really cute jean skirt to wear as I get bigger! I swear I dont remember maternity clothes being this cute when I was preggo with my first. I started looking at all my Mat. clothes and I'll I can say is...I need to go shopping!!

Lisa, I totally know what you mean about the cute maternity clothes. I'm so excited to go on a shopping spree.
Last night I put on my "pregnant shirt". It's just an empire waist shirt from H&M, but boy do I look pregnant in it. (The old guy in our mailroom at work asked me one day..."you pregnant?" when I was wearing the shirt. At the time I wasn't pregnant, but I still looked it) It was fun wearing that and looking in the mirror! I'm such a dork!

Hi Ladies!
We need to keep this thread moving! *lol*
Had my first appointment this morning - it was just with the Nurse Practitioner. I admit, I was afraid I would get there and they would tell me the test was negative somehow - but that didn't happen :) I just don't usually "feel' pregnant - but I will say when I got up in the middle of the night to pee my boobs were KILLING me - and I was so happy to have a symptom :)
The nurse gave me a bunch of handouts and told me my questions would be answered at my 10 week doctors appointment which is my next appointment
We also talked about first trimester screening (which we really need to decide quickly if we will do) and ultrasound (not till 20 weeks ;() My friend goes to this practice and didn't find out until 20 weeks that she was having twins  Oh well.
Other than that, I guess everything is good. My first real appointment is December 11. Also, she told me my due date (based on the pregnancy wheel) is July 12th - but based on when I would have ovulated for that due date (5 days after BD!) I'm thinking that's not so likely - so, I am sticking with July 10. (the nurse told me the 2 days wouldn't really matter till I was 9 mos pregnant anyway, *lol*)
I think that's about it. Dh went with me which was nice. And the last few days I have not had much of an appetite and today I seem to be starving!!!
How's everyone else doing? Let's keep this thread busy. I need something to keep my mind off of work during the day :)
Robyn,
Glad to hear your appt. went well! I too probably wont have a u/s til 16-20 weeks. I believe in both pregnancies I opted not to do the screenings. I think my dr. told me there can be wrong results and I didnt want that stress.
Me,
Today is going well. My Dh and son will be home soon and we are going to an early dinner and a movie. I'm going to try my best to eat good this pregnancy. I kind-of did with my DS but with my DD I didn't. I have my cousins wedding next sept. and I like to fit in one of my dresses for for wedding. We're going to Seattle. I've never been there and I'm excited. I'll have my DS, DC and probably our foster kid. I'm so excited!
Hope you all have a wonderfull weekend!!!

Thanks for the welcome, July mommies!
I wish I didn't have any symptoms, but I've been feeling nauseated since about an hour after my first prog suppository on Wed. night. I had a brief reprieve in the middle of the day yesterday, but otherwise it's been all morning, evening and even overnight. Strawberries are my friends. It was the only food I could get down this morning. Strangely, even the thought of ultra bland food makes my stomach turn. I guess only being able to eat fruit isn't the worst thing - at least I'll be healthy, right? ;)
In other musings - I need to pick an OB. I had two very bad OB experiences prior to getting referred to the RE, and I never figured out a new OB. I'm interested in trying for a natural birth and definitely want someone who is low on the interventions. How did you go about finding someone that meshes with what you want? Did you just call up and ask them questions - what kind of questions should I be asking?
RobynScott Your due date quandry seems the same as mine - based on LMP my due date is July 12, but based on the date that I think I ovulated, it would be July 10.

RobynScott Your due date quandry seems the same as mine - based on LMP my due date is July 12, but based on the date that I think I ovulated, it would be July 10.
It's funny - Fertility Friend and a bunch of websites said 7/10 based on LMP - the NP said 7/12 (also based on LMP) - so I don't know. Working backwards, a due date of 7/12 would mean ovulation on CD 17 (7/10 would be O on CD 15) - considering we only BD'ed on CD 12 b/c I was out of town for work, I tend to believe in the earlier O. Besides, I'm not willing to give up 2 days of pregnancy right now, *lol*
kazata -sorry yu're not feeling well! I keep waiting for something to hit to feel PG. Sometimes I get a littlw queasy - but not for long. Last few days I didn't have too much appetite - today I was starving! - but now - having eaten I am so full! I will have to go light on dinner.
I am really hoping to make it through the first tri without too much weight gain as I am already 10 - 15 lbs above where I'd like to be.
Lisa - have a great time with your family - sounds like a fun night! Are you already fostering a child or are you planning on doing so in the near future?

Ugh - want some of mine? I was already pushing DD to begin with (34D - 34DD).
I suspect I may already be pushing into "DDD" - my boobs have never been this big - it's scary!
I just bought some expensive new bras that I haven't worn yet - I think I am going to go back and get re-fitted b/c I don't think the ones I bought will be the right size for very long.
Also, I just bought a bunch of button-down tops for work (thankfully the tags are still on) - I'm thinking I may go exchange them for the next size so I can wear them longer - it's not so much the waist I am worried about (though since I'm currently bloated - that's an issue too) - but I'm afraid my boobs will be too big for the shirt soon!
Don't get me wrong - I will take any symptom I can get - but I'm a little (ok, a lot) nervous about where my boobs are going to be by the end of this pregnancy, *lol*
Also, I keep touching them to make sure they're sore since that seems to be my major symptom - I'm crazy, I know!
Have a great Saturday all!

I agree with this so much. I am a DDD right now and I think they may have already started growing and I am honestly scared at where they may end up. Is it bad I hope I am one of those people that doesn't get bigger boobs when they are pregnant? Mine can stay right where they are!!!
Bloating! Ah I was hoping I wasn't the only one. Every time after I eat I feel huge like a ate a ton. And half the time I have barely ate anything.
Besides that everything is good. I still have cramps too. I still check my TP and my boobs many times a day to reassure I am pregnant. I have also debated buying more tests though I know I am being irrational!!! Hopefully that will go away!

O.K., I'm going to bite the bullet and post. I posted over in the May 2007 a couple of months ago but I did it too early. I got a BFP but it turned out to be a chemical pregnancy. This time, I made it to a Dr.'s appt and everything. So, here goes.

DH: Bronson, 29
Married: 11/22/03
TTC: 06/2006
BFP: 10/25/2006
EDD: 07/02/2007
Gender prediction: Boy
Other children : One very special Catahoula(breed of dog) named Boomer
I have already had my first dr.'s visit where they confirmed and even did a sonogram. I saw my little beans heart beating and they said everything looked good. My next appt is Dec. 13. So far, knock on wood, my only symptom is sore BB's.
RobynScott

WELCOME WENDY!
You've got sore boobs too - I guess this really is the sore boob club ;)
Sorry to hear about the CP - but lucky you that you have already seen the bean's heart beating - wow and congrats!
I don't get a sonogram until 20 weeks  so I am really keeping my fingers crossed that everything will be ok.
My boobs still hurt - especially when I get up in the middle of the night to pee - I really feel them. And the bloat has definitely hit. My jeans - which were fine last week (and are already a bigger size than usual b/c of pre-preg weight gain :( ) are feeling snug! I know I haven't been eating more - I just definitely feel like I am retaining water (and bloated) instead of all that extra peeing I am supposed to be doing.
I wanted to get up and go to work this morning but I wound up doing stuff at home and now I don't really feel like going in. All I really need to do is print a documents - too bad DH and I never set up our printer at home - doh! I may make a run to Kinko's instead and then do some shopping (I'm thinking I might return some things I recently bought - like bras!) for a bigger size.
Have a great day all - glad to see our group is growing :)

There ya have it. We were actually quite surprised. I didn't even tell DH I was testing. We didn't really DTD all that much this month so it was that much more of a shock. We've not told our families yet. We're waiting for Landon's "I'm going to be a big brother" T-shirt to arrive. Then we'll go visit our parents w/ him wearing that and see how long it takes for them to notice is. :)
I'm tired. TIRED. So tired, in fact, that I didn't even stay up to watch Greys Anatomy last Thursday which is totally shocking. Thank goodness for DVR. :) Other than being tired my boobs kill, espcially when Landon wants to be held, and I'm having food aversions already. I normally love garlic, as in, can't get enough. Not right now. I added just a bit of garlic powder to a recipe this week and could hardly eat it. Ick. Funny, same thing happened w/ my first pregnancy.
I look forward to getting to know you all. Oh and to all you first time pregnancy gals longing to be bigger.....be careful for what you wish for ;)

Welcome to all the new ladies:)
I am so nervous my stomach is in complete knots, I have my ultrasound in a few hours. The last time I had an ultrasound back in March I found out it wasn't a viable pregnancy...

Kerry - good luck. Thinking good thoughts for you - I hope everything turns out perfect and they see a perfect little bean in there!
Faye (Bibay) - how cute of your DH! And "pudge" huh? I'd say that's what I have right now, is some pudge, *lol*
Welcome Tanya!
I bought some more pregnancy books yesterday, of course, *lol* I have to decide which ones I am keeping and which I will return or we will go broke on books, *lol*
Started sleeping in a bra last nigt - my boobs didn't hurt - of course, then I start worrying about my symptoms, *lol*
I had some queasiness at moments yesterday - but nothing that really felt more than like I needed to eat - so don't know if that's similar to what anyone else is feeling. I seem to have gas/feeling of an upset stomach more than anything. I just keep worrying that I don't have enough 'symptoms' (I know, I know, I shouldn't complain!)
I'm envious of those of you who get early ultrasounds - I wish I could hear the heartbeat or something just to know that everything is ok ... My first appointment is at 10 weeks so hopefully everything will be ok. (I know, I need to stop worrying)
Well - that was long! have a great day all - I need to try and do some work today, *lol*

Thanks for the welcome ladies! :) I'm going to start off by asking a question. I called my gyn's office to make an appointment, only to be told that he is no longer practicing OB anymore. Then I was told to make an appointment to see the 'nurse' after I have missed two periods. Is this normal to wait that long? I'm almost 35 and was a little concerned about not seeing a doctor till December. Also, now I'm thinking of looking around for another doctor. I don't want to wait till December only to see a nurse!! What would you do??

Good luck, Kerry. I'm anxiously waiting to hear back from you! BTW, you were in the Oct 2003 Mom's thread on WC, weren't you? I was MrsOwen2B over there. Your screen name (and DD's name) seem familiar. :)
jimmysgirl424 It's not uncommon to put off the appt. a bit BUT I'd say it is odd that they are putting you off only to see a nurse. Especially given your age. (sick that being nearly 35 is "old" in this case) Is there another OB in your area that you can call? Even if only to double check what their policies are.
All is well here. Well, sort of. I'm sick. Super sick. I'm normally not a reach for medicine type of gal but when I get a cold I go hard core w/ Airborne and other such remedies. I hate not being able to grab something for relief w/out thourougly researching it first. *sigh* I know Airborne is primarly vitamins/minerals but it says on it to consult a Dr. I may break the thing into 4 pieces and take it over a number of hours. That way I don't overwhelm lil' bean w/ too much "stuff". I don't know what to do. Ack. i'd call my dr but I don't even have it nailed down who my OB will be. lovely.
Have a great day, all.

Welcome to all the new mommy to be's
Kerry, Good luck with your appointment today.
Kym, I'd probably find a doctor that could see you sooner. Or if nothing else, you could see your FP for a check up.
Nothing new here. My boobs hurt and that's it.

Kerry good luck!!! Crossing fingers!
Kym If you are in Canada, that is normal, and you might not be able to see anybody for a while except your FP. But in the USA, I would think you should be able to see somebody sooner.(a doctor for sure!) Good luck to ya!
Me I was sick this morning, and spend half of it in the bathroom, trying to not be sick. Well, I was. It is the first time I really get sick because I'l preggo. YUCK! Felt way better after though:rolleyes: Weekend was REALLY hard. I was EXHAUSTED, and had to drive to a family reunion. I don,t think somebody noticed. I was just NOT able to eat, but I had DS on my lap, and feed him pretty much all my plate. :p They all saw fire! Nobody commented on how much I ate, so that was good! I was nauseous all the way back, man that drive was LONNNNNG
off to school!

Sorry you were sick Cosmo.
Kym - yay on finding a new doctor.
me - pregnancy hormones definitely appear to have hit. I am sitting at my desk crying over the stupidest thing (I am normally an easy crier anyway) and I can't stop. I probably would have cried anyway with regular PMS - but this is a little ridiculous. It's not even the fact that I'm crying - it's that I can't stop.
Oy - this is going to be a long 9 months - or at least a long six weeks till I can hopefully tell people and explain my craziness. ugh. I continue saying I'll take any symptom I can get - but the crying at work has got to be limited!

I hear ya! While I cry easily normally as well as while PG, my real hormonal issue is lack of patience. I SNAP. I take things personally and think people are being ridiculous and don't mind telling them. :) I'm trying to be very deliberate and objective about each interaction I have in an attempt to not react too over the top. DH and I got into it last night a bit b/c I wanted to watch Extreme Home Makeover and he had started getting into Throwin' down w/ Bobby Flay. *sigh* you'd have thought he killed my puppy.
Fun news- Told my really good friend today. I had to tell someone other than my online buds. She was so cute and so excited. I'm getting anxious to tell our families. LJ's "Big Brother" T-shirt should be here sometime this week. Fun!

Thanks for the well wishes everyone! I'm back from the u/s and saw the *cutest* baby bean with 150 BPM heartrate:) I literally felt a huge weight lifted off me when I saw it. I measured a little big, I should be 6w 4d and I measured 7w 1d but I know I ovulated early this month. We're going to tell my parents tonight. My mom has been asking for a list with ideas for Christmas gifts and I'm going to put maternity clothes on it.
Add me to the hormonal/emotional list. Dh was bitching about how I've been so short with him lately and so of course I went off on him to explain why I've been so short with him...:sigh: My patience have been at an all time low too!
MommaO~ Yes, that was me from the WC, we still have an Oct 03 thread here on CC, you should join back up with us!

Yay Kerry for hearing the heartbeat - congrats!!!
I think I have finally stopped crying - now I need to try and get some work done - ugh. I hate when other people take their stress out on you!
Hey mommies!
Kerry great on hearing the heartbeat!! Thats awesome!
Cosmosorry about being sick! its always better afterwards
me, I've had a good day, not much wanting to eat. I feel like I'm only eating so I dont throw up my prenatal:p We are having sweet and sour meatballs tonight which I'm actually looking forward to. I have my appt on wed morning. I'm so excited. I just want it confirmed I'm preggo and the baby is ok. I want to hear the HB too but I dont know if they'll try to hear it. They didnt with my last 2 kiddos.
We still havent told anyone. We decided we will tell our parents and sisters on our Caribbean cruise in December!!

Kerry Thats so exciting to hear the heartbeat! I know it was a huge relief to you as well..I'm happy for you! :)
Robyn So far I haven't experienced the crying thing, but I'm sure its coming because I also am an over-emotional person and tend to cry very easily anyway.
MommaO LOL at the 'killed my puppy' comment. Our poor DH's. They are really in for it, aren't they??
Cosmogirl Sorry about the morning sickness. :(
ME: Well....I have to say that my biggest complaint at this moment has got to be how tired I am. I started getting these extreme fatigue spells last Friday and when they hit me, I literally feel like I'm going to just collapse if I can't go to sleep immediately. Ha. Well...thats a serious problem when at work, let me tell you!! I'm in the middle of one of these spells right now and I just want to cry because all I want to do is go to sleep. This sucks big time. :(
Oh yeah, and my stomach sounds like its playing a symphony with all of its bubbling and gurgling. It sounds odd and feels really strange.

Feeling better now. Also, just got an apology from the person that triggered my crying jag (though I understood why she was annoyed) - so that was nice.
Schedule my first trimester screening (the nuchal translucency ultrasound and blood test) for December 26. Since I'm not getting a real U/S until 20 weeks, this appt at 12 (?)weeks will hopefully give me some security.
Anybody else planning on doing (or have done in the past) the first trimester screening?

MommaO

Is that was is (was?) called the triple screen? I forget what it all covers. We declined it (and had so sign something saying so). We weren't going to terminate no matter the findings so we didn't want to do it. Plus, if memory serves me correctly, isn't that test prone to false positives? Meaning it can come back saying there is an issue when there isn't? I could be confusing things. It's been a few years. Obviously I need to dig back in and get reacquainted w/ the info. :)
kerrykate So pleased that your appt went well. That's awesome! I'm sure that was a big relief. I may need to find the Oct. 2003 Mommas... if only to see what all the little ones have been up to the last few years.

This is why we decided not to. 2 of my friends got back false positives. It was horrible and my dr even discouraged us doing it if terminating the pregnancy wasnt an option.

We also did not get the test done when I was pg with DD b/c of the false positive rate. My sister did it and got a false positive and we were all worried sick but it ended up being nothing.

I doubt I will have this done. I agree with others that have said they don't want worry that could be false. We wouldn't change our decision either way so we will skip it. I haven't been asked by my dr. yet and I am afraid due to my past m/c he may push it. Guess I will see!
I have still felt bad today. I am not actually getting sick but the nausea is awful. It came and went today at least. I am also having pretty bad diarrhea that has me worried. I guess just because all I have ever heard about is constipation during pregnancy. I posted in the Pregnancy forum about it.
kerry-Glad your appt went well!!
Jimmy'sgirl-I don't think I could wait until 10 weeks I am so impatient!
Lisa and Cosmo-I feel you. I will try and wish your sicknesses away to while I do mine!!

Hi ladies,
Well - I am a bit of a freak - I'm worried this morning b/c my boobs are not as sore as they have been - crazy, I know - but it seems to be my onle "real" pg symptom. I was still exhausted last night and got up a bunch of times to use the bathroom (unusual for me pre-preg) - so intellectually, I know everything is probably fine, symptoms come and go and maybe my boobs have just gotten used to their new size - but not so intellectually, I can't help but worry.
I'm sure I will regret saying this at some point - but I think I would feel better if I had morning (even all-day) sickness, just so I could have a real "sign" that I am (still) pg.
Re: the first trimester screening - it's actually different than the quad (formerly triple) screen - which does have a higher false positive rate. The test is a nuchal translucency ultrasound and blood test around 12 weeks, and then 3 weeks later another blood test. (this is a very recent addition making it a new test called the "integrated screen"). The accuracy rate is supposed to be 92% (as opposed to 85% on the quad screen)
Scott and I were (are) unsure about having it done b/c we also agree that we would probably not do anything to change the pregnancy (I can't say 100% right now that I would do nothing if I found out the baby had 0% chance of living, for example) - but we do like to be prepared.
So, we'd like to know if there is something to know so that we can make sure to deliver at the right hospital, with the right precautions (for example, there could be a neural tube condition where it would be better for baby to be born by c-section rather than vaginally).
We're still going to do more research and possibly talk to friends about what they have done (though this would mean sharing we're PG a little sooner than planned). The nurse practitioner told us that the center where the tests are done gets very busy around the holidays so we should just make an appointment and cancel if we decide not to go through with it. So, that's what we chose.
Sorry so long - now, back to the symptoms - especially for you repeat offenders :) - anyone else's symptoms seem to come and go? I shouldn't be worried, should I?
Have a great day al! - and try not to obsess like me :)

RobynScott~ My symptoms definitly come and go. The first couple of weeks that I was pg my boobs hurt all the time, now I only get an occassional sharp pain in them. I also get waves of nausea once in awhile, and I can't stay awake past 9:30 and that's about it. Oh, yea and the crazy raging hormones;) I have also said I would feel better if I had moring/all day sickness b/c then I would feel pg all the time and feel more "safe". You're definitly not alone:)

Thank you KerryKate - you made me feel so much better. I know you are right - but it helps to hear that someone else is experiencing the same things - phew!
I have some waves of queasiness (don't know if it quite rises to the level of nausea) - but I can't decide if it's all in my head, *lol*

My pregnancy symptoms also seem to come and go. I was having really bad bloating, but the past few days I have felt "normal" in that regard.
I am a little concerned though because I came down with a sore throat and a slightly elevated temperature yesterday. It was only 99.9 F, but I know once it reaches 102 there is cause for concern. So I called my OB office, and the nurse gave me a list of OTC cold meds that are considered safe. I feel kind of funny taking anything right now because this is such a critical period of development. I ended up just taking half a dose of Tylenol and have been drinking tons of fluids.

RobynScott You sound just like me today! I keep wishing I would get hit with M/S or something so I know everything is okay. I think its normal to feel that way at this point. I woke up this am and my BB's were not as sore as they have been so I was worried. Now they are extremely sore again. I went to bed at 9 last night and slept till 6 this morning, but right after 8 am I wanted to go back to sleep. In spite of this, I keep waiting for something else to happen with me that will make me 'feel' pregnant. Plus I'm panicking over every single twinge and cramp that I feel. :(

Kym - I know we're feeling the same! with the cramps (which on-and-off I get AF like mild cramps) - I make myself feel better by reminding myself they're normal and it's just the peanut settling in and my uterus growing. I try to look at them as another pg symptom, so I'm actually glad to have them.
But I understand completely how you feel!
Jennifer - hope you feel better soon!

Yes, for the most part they feel like AF cramps. But occasionally I get some that are little more pronounced and more on side than the other. So of course I ran off and googled it and then wished I hadn't as it said it could indicate a problem. :( I think I'm worrying myself needlessly but I can't help it. Product of a M/C I had years ago, I guess.

kerrykate yea for the good appointment.
Jennifer I hope you get to feeling better soon.
Kym Enjoy the cramps...they are one of the first symptoms (as long as they aren't too painful).
Cosmogirl Hopefully the ms will die down for you a little bit.
Me...nothing new. I was a bit queezy this morning. I started eating my yogurt and it got to be almost repulsive the more I ate. And a funny (possibly TMI) story...I got in my car this morning and had a pretty bad cramp and panicked, then said to myself, "it's just gas, it's just gas, it's just gas" waited a moment and then had the happiest fart ever.
I'm really excited about my appointment tomorrow. And tonight dh is picking up our first nursery art. In college dh was an art major and before graduation swapped art with a friend...the piece he got was a charcoal drawing of a baby bottle. It has been wrapped in a garbage bag since 1997 and we took it to get framed as soon as we got the BFP!
Browneyedgirl- Have fun at your appt!! hope it is great!
Me well I have my appt at 8:30 today!! I'm so excited. I hope I can hear the HB but I know my Dr normally waits to do that.
Hope you all have a great day!!!
Well I'm back from my first appt. It went really well. They asked me a bunch of questions after that the weighed me,definitley not the highlight of the visit:p After that my Dr. examined me and said everything looked good. My cervix was blue and that was good. We finished the appt with bloodwork. He wants ee to call in tomorrow morning to see what my numbers are at and then schedule another appt. He said he was 90% sure I was pregnant but wanted to get all the results back. He also gave me all this magazines and books of pregnancy!! He's too funny.
Okay I'm making breakfast and I'll BBL
WHat prenantals are you taking?
I'm on Citrcal with DHA

Congrats Lisa - yay for a good appointment and the blue cervix, *lol!
QOTD: What prenantals are you taking? Primacare One - it's a prescription pre-natal that includes a fish-oil supplement.
Thank goodness for prescription insurance - I think the 3 month supply that cost me $20 retails for $120 - yikes!
Feeling ok today. Tired as usual - definitely hormonal. This morning I told DH I lied to him about something stupid (really stupid and minor) - and I never lie to him - and I just started crying so much and feeling so bad! I'm sure I would have felt bad even if I wasn't pg, but the tears were kind of funny. I felt so bad - still do!
brown-eyed girl - hope you have a good appt to report too!

This was a total complete surprise as we had *just* failed our 4th IVF attempt. We had decided to take a cruise immediately after we got the results because I said after this last ART attempt (the 4 IVF's + 2 injectible IUI's), I was physically done and wanted to start our life either happy or as a childfree couple. Of course, after we got the results we started changing our minds and considered giving it another go (okay "I" changed our minds -:p ) after seeing all the babies on the cruise.
So, 9 nights of cruising, many tropical drinks later... Here I am! queen CONGRATS!!! What a wonderful miracle for you!! :D
Lisa Sounds like your appointment went great! I'm confused though, why was your doc "90% sure" you are PG?? Is this normal for doc's not to confirm a pregnancy without the absolute of bloodwork? Just curious.
BrownEyedGirl You had me LOL at your cramp story!! I've had a couple of those too.
Robyn We must be on the same wavelength! I had my first crying fit this morning. Aren't hormones great??
ME Well, using the first day of my last period, I am officially 5 weeks pregnant today. (3 weeks fetal age) It feels very strange to think about that. I had a bit of a scare last night. I went to the grocery store and bought ALOT of groceries ($140 worth!) because we really had nothing in the house that was very healthy. Anyway, the stupid bag helper-person wasn't outside when I finished, so I loaded everything in the car by myself. During the five minute ride home, I started getting fairly intense menstrual-like cramps. They were the worst I've had by far and they really, really scared me. :( I raced for the bathroom when I got home, fully expecting to see that I had started spotting or bleeding. So far, that hasn't happened, but I did have another cramps episode less than an hour after the first one. And I've had more today, but not as bad. Please, please, please, someone tell me this is normal. Is anyone else having cramps that feel like AF is coming? :(
~queen~
11-15-2006, 09:49 AM
Thanks Robyn! I swear, I'm the poster child for 'wtf?' pregnancies! I told DH that something was going on at around 7 dpo. I felt just like I felt on the progesterone in oil that I had to shoot in my azz every day the previous month. And I wasn't even taking anything (still drinking heavily!) At 10 dpo, I started HPT's. I still haven't had a +HPT. If it wasn't for the beta, DH still wouldn't believe me!

My appointment went well. NP said everything looks really good. My next appt is December 21.
qotd...I'm taking GNC Prenatal, or Twin Lab Prenatal. I also take a separate fish oil supplement and also Folgard (which NP told me today is probably a bit of overkill)

Wow Queen - that's amazing! A woman I work with had a baby boy last year - she told me a similar story - she and her husband tried for three years - and then bam! - out of the blue got pregnant on their own.
How strange that you can't get a + HPT - thank goodness your dr took your beta!
kym - we are on the same wavelength! I had some medium cramps yesterday (definitely feels like AF is coming) and, excuse the TMI - I guess some CM when I was coming home (I got off the train and felt 'wet') - and I ran to the bathhroom fearing the same thing. I totally feel/felt like AF was coming. I had one moment of bad cramps yesterday and got scared - but just reminded myself that it's probably just my uterus stretching the peanut (hopefully) getting settled in :)
ps - I admit - I'm going back through some of the otehr group pregnancy threads to see if other people experienced the same things to make sure it's all normal, *lol* - it's reassuring!

As far as my Dr goes I think he just meant from his opinion without any bloodwork back, That I was pregnant. Mine always waits for the bloodwork to confirm pragnancies at least thats how he has with the past two. But I know some dr dont even do bloodwork anymore, they do u/s. Does anyone else have a cold? I've heard that it is a pretty common symptom because your immune system is lower. I have a major head cold for a week now and just can't kick it. I know there are a few medications that my dr. said was fine and I take them every now and then when I just can't manage anymore, but I just hate to take any meds. My husband thinks I'm crazy. He says if the dr. says it's fine, then take the meds, but it just freaks me out with the little bean in my stomach. Anyone else?

Hey cosmo - hope you start feeling better soon!
wendy - ditto to you - hope that cold gets better. I've been sneezing, but *knock on wood* - nothing more yet.
caesar - hope the medicine kicks in for you asap!
As for me - well, I keep touching my boobs to see if they're still sore, *lol* (One of these days someone is going to catch me!) and I feel a little queasy (I guess) at times - but I can't decide if it's all in my head or not, *lol*
Must try and focus on work today ...
QOTD- Are you getting a flu shot? I've never had one before, but wondering if I should get one this year - not sure if you are supposed to get it in the first tri. I'll probably leave a message for the nurse practitioner but just wondering what you all have been told / decided.
Have a great day all!

Bibay I hear you on the sleeping thing. That has been my number one issue! You know what they say...sleep while you can, right??
Robyn I have found it all but impossible to focus on work this week. Hope nobody catches you touching your BB's...that would be pretty tough to explain!! :p
Cosmo I hope the nausea lets up on you soon!
BrownEyedGirl Yuck on the cold sores! They are not fun!!
rangerwendy Sorry about your head cold. Pregnancy is enough to deal with, doesn't seem fair that we get sicker more easily too.
ME I have been going to bed between 9 and 9:30 every night this week. And I feel like I could happily go earlier than that! Big change for someone who usually went to bed between 10:30 and 11:00!! And I feel tired all.of.the.time.!! Blech. More cramping today, but I'm trying to just relax and go with it based on what others have told me about it. Apparently its pretty common for some women. I was definitely not feeling great this am. Got to work okay, but then started having dizzy and light-headedness spells, combined with three 'emergency' rest room trips. And not to pee either. :( (sorry if TMI) I had chicken and steak fajitas with black beans last night at Bennigans and apparently the little munchkin growing in my belly DID NOT care for that at all!! Feeling a little better now but I just wish so much that I was home in bed. Ah well. The joys of pregnancy.

QOTD- Are you getting a flu shot?...I got my flu shot in early October...didn't want to worry about it if it did get pregnant. At my appt yesterday they were ready to give me the flu shot. I didn't think that you were supposed to in your first trimester, but apparently my OB office doesn't believe that.
I am only exhausted at work, at home, I'm just a little tired. But being here at work it's getting harder and harder to keep my eyes open.

From yesterday:
QOTD What prenatals are you taking? Uhhhh...is it terrible to say none? Its not that I don't want to, I just haven't been able to see my doctor yet. Right now I'm taking Centrum every day but I'm seriously considering buying some OTC prenatals from somewhere. Target maybe??
QOTD Are you getting a flu shot?
I was going to before I got my BFP, but am now waiting till I see the doctor on the 27th of this month. I'm really hoping it won't be too late. I've never had the flu before but it would be my luck to get it while I'm pg.
QOTD- Are you getting a flu shot?
I probably wont. I did with my last two and I still got really sick. so I figure this time...why bother? :)
Bibay -I'm with you on the sleep I could sleep all day if my 3 yr old didnt mind:p
Robyn -I hope your work day goes by fast!!
Cosmo -hope you feel better
BrownEyedGirl- cold sores are the worst...sorry!!
rangerwendy I did the same while preggo with my DS I had the worst cold and didnt want meds abot a 1 and half it was gone...Hope you feel better
Jimmysgirls- I here cramping is normal. Its just another thing us pregnant women have to deal with :) isnt it amazing these kiddos tell us wat they dont like. They're already picky:D
me I'm gonna call and get my test results soon. Today is a tired day for me. but I'm eating a bit more. I'm happy I love food too much not to eat.
Have a great day everyone!!

QOTD-I don't think I'll be getting a flu shot. I've never gotten one before.
The meds definatly helped take the edge of this morning, but now I'm nauseous again. I think they take about 6 hrs to work ( since you're supposed to take them at bed time) and last about 8 or 9 hrs. He said I could take up to 4/day but I'm going to try to stick to 2 if I can.
My test came back and they are good. So on monday I go back in for another blood test and depending on how high it comes back at, they will schedule a u/s. My dr said he wants to be very careful with this pregnancy (after what happened with Lo I think all my dr's are trying to be watchful and careful) I'm happy and pray all the results come back good on Tuesday. AT the same time I'm not use to all this and its freaks me out a little bit. I hope everyone is doing good. Have a great night!!

I'm afraid as quickly as I came in is as quick as I must go. My beta numbers from my second test are significantly lower so it appears I am having a(nother) chemical pregnancy.

I'm here and I feel like a$$. I've puked only once but it's constantly threatening, it seems. I have no real desire to eat. The only things I've been craving are super bland and lacking any real sort of texture- examples: mashed potatos and pankcakes. I did stomach a sandwhich today but it was touch and go. *sigh* Just thinking about food makes me want to dry heave. I'm a big ol' wimp.... I didn't feel this bad during my first pregnancy so I'm having a tough time of it. Aside from feeling gross my boobs hurt bad and I'm tired! I've been in bed before our 3 year old 3 of the last 5 nights. :) Luckily DH is super supportive.

QOTD~ I didn't think you were supposed to get one in the first tri but I guess you can since some of you are! I should have checked into it more b/c the company I work for was giving them away free. Oh well.
Prenatals I was taking the prescription one from my doctor but they made me constipated:o so I've been taking the Target brand and I really like them so far.
I'm so tired, cranky, and bloated today, my house is a mess but I have no energy to clean it.

Queen-I'm so sorry. I hope accupunture works for you.
QOTD-I got one in early October. I have been TTC for so long that I got one without even thinking I may be pregnant. I don't think I was when I got it though!
Prenatals-I am just taking some OTC ones from Wal-Mart. I took the same brand last time I was pregnant and my dr. then was okay with it so I don't see why this dr. would say different!!
I am sick of my bb's hurting!!! I keep getting sharp, random pains in them and I don't like it! I have felt better the last day or so. I get nausea here and there but since I am making sure I don't eat anything too heavy or don't eat to much at a meal my nausea has lessened! I hope it stays that way! I have been really fatigued too. I really can't say for sure if it is do to pregnancy or because we have been busy(we have had our niece for two days and spent last nigth grocery shopping and part of tonight at a friends). But I have wanted to go bed at 10 or so and normal I don't until about 12!! And I am already tired tonight and it is only 8:22. If we didn't have his neice I would lie down and go to sleep now! I am putting her to bed at 9 though:p !

kerrykate Hopefully you will get some energy back. Try not to worry too much about your house. Can your DH help you with the work a little??
MommaO Ugh...sounds like you are having such a rough time of it. I'm sorry you are feeling so badly. :(
Lisa Hooray for your tests coming back good! I know that must be such a relief to you.
ME Well, today is definitely better than yesterday was for me, thats for sure. At least I haven't made tons of bathroom trips already. Keeping my fingers crossed that it continues. Just curious...how many of you ladies are still sleeping through the night? I haven't been able to one time in over 9 days now, thanks to having to get up to use the bathroom. I don't really mind it too much, but it can be a bit irritating to be woken up because my bladder is screaming at me! I also find that I'm just not sleeping as soundly as I'm used to. Its almost like I can't stop thinking about the fact that I'm PG and its affecting even my sleep patterns. Strange.
I also have another question. Has anyone changed the way they eat at all as far as trying to eat healthier?? I went out and bought tons of 'healthy' food that I normally wouldn't eat. For example, yesterday I ate the following:
I don't really do breakfast, but I find myself starving when I wake up. So I had two pieces of whole-grain toast with Philadelphia light whipped cream cheese and a glass of milk.
Midmorning snack: multi-grain crackers and cottage cheese.
Lunch: Can of Progresso lentil soup and Granny Smith Apple.
Snack: two string cheese sticks
Dinner: Roasted chicken breast, whole grain Spanish rice, green beans and a glass of milk.
I also drank over a gallon of water through the day.

I actually posted above about this! I was wondering who was trying to eat healthy and who was just eating whatever they can hold down. From what I understand, most docs say eat whatever your tummy can handle, even if that means just one kind of food. Your baby will still get the nutrients it needs to grow, don't worry.
for the most part, I've been eating pretty good. I did however sneak in a few of those fake mint oreos:p :D
Ethan looked so cute in his indian costume. I had a blast, so much fun I forgot and eat a little lunchmeat! I felt so bad afterwards but I surfed the internet and called my dr and he said it was just a little and at least it wasnt roast beef. The internet however seemed a bit divided. Some sites were "no way" and others were well if you trust the place, eat it. so...
QOTD~what are you going to avoid in our diet?
~After this no lunchmeat, or atleast it will be heated
~I cut out my coffee intake for now ;) (but then again I only drank Startbucks)
~I love feta but none of that
~ tuna(my aunt makes the best fish dip...that will be missed

Sorry Kym, I didn't see the same way.
Has anyone changed the way they eat at all as far as trying to eat healthier??
I saw more your question about who is trying to eat better then usual, where as what I'm wondering is, are people just able to eat a balanced diet right now, or just little bits and bites of food, basically what i'm doing. I'm sure not eating any healthier then before, my diet really is bad right now...
Didn't mean to copy you. I'm really baby brain lately, it is scary, and since I don't eat well, I don't have much concentration. It is really bad!:(

Queen - I am so sorry. I hope the acupuncture helps bring you your miracle!
cosmo - sorry you're not feeling well - fainting, yikes! You're nearing the end of the first tri (well, nearer than the rest of us ;)) - hope you get some relief soon!
QOTD~what are you going to avoid in our diet / are you eating healthy?
Pretty much just deli meat (and alcohol) I guess. Tuna you can have up to 2x/week (so I had it the other day :))
Caffeine - the NP told me I could have a little ( like one diet pepsi a day) - so far I haven't, but I imagine I will at some point.
I am doing my best to focus on eating healthier. I was already (not too faithfully!) following WW so I am trying to just keep watching my portion sizes. I have added in a serving (or more) of calcium fortified orange juice and I am trying to focus more on whole grains, protein and vegetables.
Of course, I have my moments where I eat what I can tolerate (like last night when I had goldfish pretzels when I got home ;)). Also had pizza for dinner with DH (unusual for me) - but afterwards felt nauseous - evening sickness maybe?
Today I was runnning around all morning and started to feel sick/dizzy/lightheaded from not eating, so I've got to watch that.
That's about it. I'm finally starting to believe a little bit more that I'm PG (even though I'm still scared to really believe it) - It's kind of funny, I'm like I haven't had AF in six weeks - wow!
That's about it - sorry so long - have a great Friday everyone!

No worries. I realized what you were asking was different than my question. I just kinda thought that the two together kind of 'fed off' of each other, KWIM? I just feel so bad for you that you are having such a rough time. :( It sure can take the joy out of being PG when you can't eat normally or even function normally. If you are really worried, I would call your doctor and tell them what is going on with you. Hopefully your symptoms will ease up once you are in the second trimester.
QOTD What are you going to avoid in your diet/are you eating healthy?
-Coffee. I usually drink a full (big) mug, but even if I wanted to, I can't. It just doesn't taste the same for me.
-Alcohol. Obviously.
- Diet Coke with Lime. But like coffee, it just doesn't taste the same to me. I'll probably drink a can here and there if I want it. Never a big soda drinker anyway.
-I didn't know we can't have feta cheese! Why?? I love feta and ate it at least three times last week!
-Tunafish
-Oysters. Which is disappointing because its oyster season now and I adore them.

Prenatals- I'm just taking our local grocery store brand with an additional folic acid supplement. My Dr. said the only difference between prescription and generic is the amount of folic acid and that if I supplement that it is as good as prescription. And way cheaper.:)
Avoiding
caffeine - not too hard for me since I'm "allergic" to caffeine and I haven't been supposed to drink it for about 5 years. Gives me racing heart and palpitations.
Anything with artificial sweeteners - My Dr. said this was a big no-no. This one is harder because I would always have a caffeine free Diet Pepsi to start my day.
Shellfish - the hardest beause I love shrimp, and my doc said no. Argh!!:(

How is everyone's weekend going?
Oddly enough I've been feeling good the last couple of days! It's almost scary. My energy level is up a bit. Thanks, I'm sure, to the fact that the cold I was fighting seems to be finally leaving me. As much as I LOVE feeling human again it worries me a bit. I really need to get our insurance woes figured out so I can get my arse to the dr. I'd feel a bit better about things.
On eating
I'm bummed b/c my additiction to Diet Coke obviously is a problem. I've not given soda up entirely. I've moved to regular Dr. Pepper as I'd rather digest some caffiene than the nasty sugar substitutes.
I'm trying to continue to eat healthy. I've lost 50 pounds since June using weight watchers and plan on continuing to count points, I'll just eat jmore of them. Now, having said that, I'll let you know the last week and a half has simply been me eating what ever I can stomach. Feeling better makes it easier to eat healthy. I'm still significantly over weight so if I can keep my weight can to around 20 pounds like I did w/ my DS I'll be so very pleased.
My questions: Am I the only one experiencing wild swings in symptoms? Anyone else feel like butt one day and the next day feel great?
alliannie

I love the weekend!! No work:)
Eating-I have cut soda completely out of my diet. This was way easier to do than I thought because I get nausea if I try to drink anything but water! I finally went out and bought a bunch of bottled water because I can't stand the taste of ours. Besides that I will cut out the normal stuff but I keep forgetting what it is I can and can't eat. I need a list or something to take with me!! I had asiago cheese while out to eat last night without thinking about it. Lets hope since it was at a restaurant it is pasteurized!!
Symptoms -Mine come and go too. Is it bad I like it better when they are here though because then I feel more preggo? I do wish it was more regular though since I never know how I am going to feel!
Well Tuesday is my next appt. I am so incredibly nervous because last time I went for a second u/s it ended up in a d&c so it scares me to death. On top of that we found out my grandma has advanced ALS and wont make it much longer. I was really upset Friday night and just kept telling myself I had to calm down so I don't overstress myself. I get to see her at Thanksgiving though so that is good since I rarely see her(she lives over 8 hours away). Besides that I am being lazy around the house today and doing laundry. Hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend!
Glad I wasnt the only one with a lazy weekend!
I went for my second bloodwork this morning. They sure have the results by late morning tomorrow. As long as the numbers come back good, he will then schedule a u/s. Not too sure what they will look for the the u/s but I guess I'll find out more tomorrow.
I'm making homehand apple pies on wednesday! I love baking and a sppinch dip that is to die for! Hope you all have a wonderful day!!!

I was pretty lazy this weekend too - even though I had/have work to do ;)
We told Scott's stepmother this weekend - she is so thrilled - she said to "think pink" *lol*
She has two sons and two grandsons, so she's jonesing for a granddaughter :)
I told her I had a cute card to show her. On the front was pictures of pickles and ice cream and the words "Let the cravings begin" - the inside said "we're expecting!" - it was very cute. We'll tell the rest of the family at Christmas and heopfully start telling friends (assuming all stays good, *knock on wood*) around New Year's.
Feeling ok. My boobs are HUGE! I get some moments of nausea - but then I wonder if it's just in my head  - and some moments where I just NEED to eat. I'm hoping I can make it to a normal lunchtime today but we'll see.
I may tell a friend of mine at work today - I just wish I could tell someone (ok, some people! :) ) even though we are trying to hold out.
Hope everyone is feeling ok today!
have a great day

Welcome Jessica! I was waiting to see you pop up in this thread! And no, its not stupid at all that you are worried about miscarriage. I really don't think there's anyone who gets PG and doesn't worry about it. Just try to relax and don't read alot of the 'panic factor' materials that are out there about pregnancy. And remember that its out of our control anyway. Not that that stops us from worrying, right? ;) Anyway...welcome to the thread!
ceaserbride Glad the Declectin is working for you! And I sure hope the sleepiness subsides after the first trimester because I am tired of being tired!
BrownEyedGirl Gosh...that sucks and I'm sorry for you! Are you using anything on them? Abreva?
Bibay At least it wasn't pickles and ice cream! My sister told me over the weekend that one of her cravings was mashed potatoes. With mayonnaise and lettuce mixed in with it! BLECH!! YUCK!! UGH!!
Robyn Thats so sweet how you told your stepmom! I'm sure she loved that little card. We told DH's mom by taking a picture of my positive pregnancy test and putting it inside a card. :)
Lisa Thanks...now I'm craving spinach dip!!
alliannie Hope your next appointment goes okay! Keep us updated and try, try, try not to worry. I know how hard it is though.
MommaO Yay for feeling better!! And yes, some days are definitely "feel like crap" all day and then lots where I'm thinking "am I really pregnant"? Its a little unnerving.
ME Well, I'm feeling a little down today. Someone posted in my thread about the cramping I have been experiencing and said that she had it too and miscarried at 6 1/2 weeks. :( But also had it in her second pregnancy and is now 34 weeks along. Just scared me a little. I don't know what to expect and suspect I'm going to be walking on pins and needles until the first trimester is over. This is a scary time and I hate it. :(
Over the weekend I had lunch with my sister and afterwards we went baby window shopping. Of course, my sister just couldn't resist and ended up buying the sweetest little white sleeper and a matching super soft blanket. I can't stop looking at them and thinking "OMG..I'm going to have someone small enough to use these!".
Has anyone started calling you nicknames associated with pregnancy? I've had a number already. My sister calls me 'mama bear', my cousin calls me 'little mama". I like both of them. On the other hand, one of DH's friends kept calling me 'preggo' over and over and I was ready to smack the crap out of him. I'm not a jar of spaghetti sauce, thankyouverymuch.
I have a bladder infection! and I didnt even know it. My urine culture came back saying it. They are calling a a pres to take the next 7 days...Geez! I get my lab results tomorrow morning!!

Lisa, the same thing happened to me! I've had bladder infections before and they were quite painful. So I was suprised when they called me with this info. I only have 2 more days of antibiotic left though.
Congratulations Jessica!

Welcome Lauren and Jessica!!!
I am freaking out after reading the ovarian cyst thread. I really need to stop CCing while pregnant!! They described a pain that EXACTLY identifies one I have been having and that has been a constant now for 3 days. I am going to ask my
Dr.!!
I would do shoutouts but I am going to bed! I am tired and have a long day(and dr. appt!!!!) tomorrow. I will update tomorrow night:) .

CONGRATS JESSICA and LAUREN!!!! Fun, our lil' group is growing!
I continued to feel well today. YAY! I called and was able to get an appointment for December 1st Now I just need to get my primary care physician changed to someone that is in the same network as the OB/GYN I want to see. :) If I change it now it will take effect on the 1st. Woo hoo. Perfect timing. I'm not actually seeing the Dr that I want but she wasn't available until the 19th. I'll take any Dr in their practice though. I like the office a great deal. I'm just ready to have someone confirm this pregnancy and make sure all is okay.

WELCOME LAUREN AND JESSICA!
Lauren - I know what you mean about being scared to post here! (I have a feeling we all do). There's a thread in pregnancy about how to get through the first trimester fears and I'm hoping to just enjoy every minute I can of this pregnancy (realizing, at this point, I really have no control over anything anyway)
I got a day-by-day pregnancy journal and I was scared to fill it out but I've been using it and I love it! Dh's been reading along too to find out about the bean's development - it's pretty cool! As I said, I was (am) scared - but going to try and just enjoy every minute I can.
I admit - the lack of symptoms definitely keeps me worried and I touch my boobs more often than ever just to 'check' if they still feel sore, *lol*.
Lisa and Jennifer - sorry about the bladder infections! Hope you're both feeling better (or at least cleared up) ASAP.
Kym - I totally understand the fears - esp about the cramps - though since mine are one of my only symptoms, I'm kind of ok with them too.
MommaO - yay for making an appt!
annie - good luck at the dr appt!
caeasarbride - hope you're continuing to feel better!
bibay - I'm curious - who is the cutie in your avatar?
sorry for anyone I missed - I went by what I could see of the previous posts :o
I should probably try and do some actual work today ... so ready for the holiday to begin!

I wasen't sure if I was ready to sign up here or not, but I realized that no matter what happens, posting on a message board has no effect on anything, good or bad. So. Here I am! We have been ttc on our own just over a year, and did two cycles of Clomid to get this BFP. I had my first beta yesterday and the nurse said my numbers look good, I won't have a repeat drwa until next week.
My symptoms so far are sore bbs, supre tiredness, and some mild cramping.
I'm so excited to see some of you from the SAI and charting threads!
I'm not always the greatest at keeping up with threads like these, but I'm going to give it a shot. I know we can offer eachother a great deal of support.

Robyn Thanks for the reassurance. Seems like all I do these days is worry. And cramping is one of my only symptoms too. Other than that and going to the bathroom alot, I spend most of my time wondering if I'm really PG.

Morning ladies!
How are you all feeling today?
I'm feeling much better today. Yesterday I had some serious cramping going on and it freaked me out... I couldn't stop fretting about it all day and I ran to the bathroom about a zillion times afraid of what I might see! :o
Last night was DH's birthday and we went out with a bunch of friends for some tasty Mexican food. Yum!
I've been noticing something odd lately and am wondering if it's all mental or truly something that could be pregnancy related. I've been waking up several times a night (I usually don't wake up like that). I also wake up about 45-90 minutes earlier than usual in the morning and can't go to sleep again. I also think I've lost my morning appetite for the most part too but am trying to eat anyways even though everything seems to taste different now. Weird!
Oh, I made my first doctor's appointment! My 8-10 week appointment is scheduled for December 19th where we should be seeing the heartbeat as well! Yippee!
Be back soon with some personals!!! Sorry for the all about me post for now!

Yes, it must be a preggo thing...b/c the same thing is happening to me....I used to have an alarm clock wake me up....NOW...I am up before 7 am ..every.single.day.
oh well, its worth it...;) and yes...i am running to the bathroom every ten minutes too!!

I had the same thing...except I would wake up at 6:30, then the next day at6:00, the next dat at 5:30, 5:00. 4:30, 3:30...finally after the 3:30 wake up day I started sleeping in again after that. Now, I'm back to snoozing for 45 minutes!
It was an obnoxious symptom, but I was glad to have it...and of course I am very glad it is over with now.

So more info...They asked me sooo many questions!! Things I haven't put tons of thought into yet. I was overwhelmed. I kept saying I don't know, I don't know. She said when I figure out the answers just to let her know. I can't even remember all the questions:o . Besides that he said everything looks good and he said while he wouldn't tell me everything was perfect that he saw no reason for worry right now. Besides that I go back in 4 weeks on Dec 19th and I found out I have to pay way more than I thought I would!! I am freaking out over it. We can afford it but...yikes.
Welcome Michelle!!!! I love seeing our group growing:).
I think we all have worries and get scared. I think its another symptom:p! I am still worried and I have seen the heartbeat and the baby!! And I had to have Robyn talk me into being TM after I posted. I keep saying to myself that if something happens I can't stop it so I need to stop worrying. Now if I would just listen!

Morning ladies!
MommaO I absolutely know what you mean about feeling like a fake pregnant lady! I'll be sorry I wished this, but right now I wish I had a few more symptoms to make me believe that I really am pg!!
polkadot How exciting that you get to have an ultrasound in your first appointment! I'm really hoping my doctor will do the same. I feel like if I can see this baby and maybe hear the heartbeat that I will feel better! I love the Dasani with lemon too! Much better than regular water. Another thing I am partial to at the moment are Altoids Tangerine Sours. I must have gone through about 6 of those little buggers driving home from work last night. I am definitely craving sour stuff and spicy foods.
alliannie Yay for your appointment going so well! I'm so glad for you that you got to see the baby and hear the heartbeat. Can you tell us some of the questions that they were asking you?
ceaserbride Sorry you are feeling so bad. :( Hope that goes away for you soon.
Robyn I am doing the accidently-on-purpose bumping the boobs too. They are definitely sore around the clock. Like polkadot though, the second my bra comes off, I have no need to bump them anymore. They hurt without that support.
ME I am reading Great Expectations which is a great pregnancy book. It breaks down each week of pregnancy and tells you exactly what to expect. Wouldn't you know it though, I open it up today to the 6 Weeks chapter only to find that this is the chapter where they discuss the possibility of miscarriage. :( Thanks alot. Well...nothing I can do except wait and hope, right? I did notice that although I did have the cramping yesterday, it wasn't as prolonged or as intense as it has been. I am taking that as a good sign. Oh, and I am definitely experiencing the sleep issues too! Waking up really early, waking up multiple times a night, etc. Not fun.
I am trying to stick to the gym routine I had going before I found out I was pregnant. Its tough, especially when I feel so tired all of the time. But I am determined to keep on with it, so I have been to the gym Sunday and last night so far this week. Plan on going again today and again on Friday as well. My routine is 46 minutes on the elliptical, which I have managed to do each time. I have noticed that I am not able to do as much mileage-wise, which is fine by me. Before I got pregnant, I was up to 6.5 miles per session. Now its 5.5. Oh well. At least I'm hanging in there with it.
Hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving! Sorry this was so long!

Good morning mamas!
Lisa Yay for high betas! And ya for scheduling your u/s! You'll have to make sure share the pic with all of us!
teacher_jessica Don't worry, it's not just you! :) being PG is totally affecting my sleep patterns too.
Robyn It makes me laugh every time you mention bumping your bbs. The crazy things PG ladies to eh? :D I think we're all guilty of one crazy thing or another.
ceaserbride Sorry you're sick already! I hope it stops soon.
MommaO I hear ya, I'm ready for a vacay too. Have fun hosting Thanksgiving.
alliannie Yay for a good appt! And thanks for the welcome. :)
jimmysgirl Glad the cramping is not as bad. Go you for still going to the gym, I am impressed!
Sorry if I missed anyone! I think preggo brain is setting in early with me! :)
I'm feeling pretty good today. Had a few slight twinges of nausea (I can never spell that word....) this morning but nothing too bad. I am so jealous of all of you having appointments and u/s's scheduled already! I haven't even had my second beta yet. Oh well, I guess I need to get used to bringing up the rear of this thread. :)
I am SO sleepy! Getting up at night to pee really takes away from your sleep.
I guess that's all for now, have a great day ladies!

Thanks for the well wishes everyone. Thankfully, I'm feeling more like myself but I did take an extra Declectin this morning.
Mamma0- Sounds like a nice long weekend! Have fun at the football game!
alliannie-I think you might be right...worrying just might be a symptom!! I'm actually not worrying as much now. I hate the m/s but I've read it *may* be a sign of a health pregnancy so I just keep telling myselt that over, and over and over again!
polkadot-Yay for US on dec 8th! Thats so fun:)
jimmysgirl424-My crampiness I'd say just dissapeared last week so you may not have to put up with it much longer.
DO you find you get short of breath much more easily since you've been pregnant? I consider myself in pretty reasonable shape and I feel like a bid ol' fart now. I'm huffing and puffing much quicker.
LDS Angel 19-You'll have appointments before you know it! No worries. I here you on the tiredness...i think that symptom is pretty common
Something else I haven't mentioned is all my very weird dreams I've been having since I've been pregnant. Anyone else? For example last night was I took a trip to Detroit all by myself and went to a drug store for make up and such and spent over $100 on lipstick:eek: As I was walking back to my hotel room in the middle of the night and winter I walked by the Detroit Tigers baseball diamond (where ever that is...? I'm a Blue Jays fan) and there was a huge snow pile that if you stood on you could see in the stadium. So I climbed up and started watching the game, which I realised later was a WS game. Then some guy told me that seats in the stadium were free and asked why I was standing on the snow pile  Told you!! Very stange. And I ussually have 2 or 3 dreams like this a night!
jimmysgirl424
11-22-2006, 11:30 AM
ceaserbride Yes...definitely running short of breath alot easier these days. Which really sucks when I am on the elliptical for 45 minutes. :( Thats why my mileage has decreased. On Sunday, I pushed myself too hard and ended up almost fainting for my trouble. DH had a fit and made me promise I wouldn't over-do it and to slow down if I felt short of breath. So thats what I try to do now. I also take the steps at work every day (4 flights) and am breathing pretty heavily by the time I make it to my floor. Not fun and like you, I feel that I am in pretty good physical shape. (5'0, 125 lb.) Dunno, must be another part of being pregnant, I guess.
As far as the dreams, its funny but I am reading about that in my Great Expectations book right now. It actually says that very vivid, intense dreams are very common, especially in late pregnancy. The tons of extra hormones raging through our body is definitely a contributing factor. The one thing the book cited as extremely normal are women who dream that they gave birth to animals, or to a demonic baby. Very strange, but it says that those dreams are our brain's way of rehearsing so that if our baby is born and he/she doesn't look like what we expected, or there are surprises while we are giving birth, we will be able to react appropriately. Dreams are funny things anyway, but I imagine being pregnant adds a whole new factor into the mix.
I'm doing good.
Question: do you all feel/look bloated? All my clothes fit fine but I feel like my stomach is huge. Granted I didn't have a six pack before this pregnancy but geez I feel huge. Am I crazy?
ceaserbride
11-22-2006, 11:39 AM
jimmiesgirl! Wow, thats crazy. I have "You're Pregnancy Week by Week" but it doesn't talk about anything like that. I may have to look into the book. Oh geez...Demonic!! Thankfully no dreams like that yet! But I have had dreams of having a gorgeous baby boy (that I couldn't bf:rolleyes: ) Maybe thats my bodies way of getting me ready for maybe not being able to accomplish everything I would like to after giving birth:confused:
Lisa- I feel huge to...granted I probably am. I've been eating like a pig, since the only time I don't feel like I'm going to throw up is when my tummy is full. I've been eating like a pig!!

Welcome to all the new ladies:) I can't wait to share this journey with you!
Lisa~ I am sooo bloated I can't button any of my regular pants so I'm wearing sweats around the house or low rise maternity pants/jeans when I go out. I can't belive how big my belly already looks, I've heard that you show faster with your 2nd+ pregnancy but I didn't think it would be this fast!
Dreams~ I've been having crazy dreams everynight! I had one a couple weeks ago that I delivered a full term baby girl and I was only 6 1/2 weeks pg! And dh and I felt really bad because we hadn't told either of our parents that I was even pg yet and we just showed up at their house with a brand new baby girl... Oh and I was sad b/c my belly never got that big since I was only 6 1/2 weeks along and I didn't get to wear cute maternity clothes:rolleyes:
So tomorrow we're telling the IL's that I'm pg. I'm nervous for some reason, I don't feel like I'm ready to tell the world yet that I'm pg but dh really wants to tell his family tomorrow. I'm really excited about being pregnant but I still feel so cautious/uneasy about it too. :sigh:
Happy Thanksgiving everyone:D

I've got the bloat too - and HUGE boobs. I am popping out of my largest bra (which I have already taken to sleeping in)
Lauren - re: the waking up - that seems to have dissipated for me by now. Though last night I was having some weird dreams! I was up but just kept trying to go back to bed - I needed the break!
Well, sitting here now trying to find the motivation I had earlier to get on the treadmill this morning ... (it seems to have disappeared ;)

Hey ladies
First off:
WELCOME JESSICA, LAUREN, ELISSA, and MICHELLE!!
Still feeling SO bad lately, it is crazy. Not able to do much, and running behind my toddler once school is over is taking the last energy I have lol
Trying to eat better, but it ain't easy. Only 3 weeks to go, and *then* I should be better. *praying*
I am having the weird dreams, the peeing envy at some little hour in the morning, but nothing else. Still no bog boobs. I guess it will come later on. My pants fits in the morning, but once the day is over, I have to unbutton them, because they dig SO much.
I'm having TONS of vaginal discharge though, it is pretty annoying. I've had that since day one, and it doesn,t seem that it will stop soon. I do remember having this with DS though.
I'm having mild cramping this morning though, not liking this...I hope it is nothing.
2 weeks until *finally* my first dr appointment and my fist U/S I'm counting the days lol. In fact, I've been counting the days since I got preggo. Cannot wait to see pea and make sure she/he is alright.
Elissa: I did the same. ;)
off again. I'm hoping to feel better soon, and participate more in here:p
Have a great Thanksgiving weekend ladies!

Welcome Elissa!!! Happy and healthy pregnancy to you!!
Cosmogirl Sorry about the cramping. If its any comfort to you, I've had it every single day for over two weeks now. Its scary (to say the least) but everything I've read says its actually pretty common for some women to experience it. Of course, that doesn't stop me from running to the bathroom every five minutes to make sure I'm not spotting.
I've not had the bloating at all, knock on wood. And although my boobs hurt and seem a bit bigger, all of my bras still fit, so I guess they haven't grown that much.
I'm a little confused about something. All of you ladies who have gone to your first appointments seem to be having sonograms right away. I never thought in a million years that that is a common thing. I was always under the impression that doctors only do sonograms that early if something is going on, such as spotting/bleeding, danger of m/c, etc. But most of you seem to be getting them as a matter of course. I talked to a couple of other women that I know who have had kids and they all seemed puzzled too and said they didn't get sonograms till around 15-20 weeks. So for those of you who have had them at this stage of pregnancy, what is your doctor's reasoning behind doing them this early? Just curious as my first appointment is Monday and I'm very curious as to what my own doctor will do.

Welcome Elissa!
I hope everyone had a Happy Thanksgiving! I have been out of town and got back late last night.
Dreams-I have had some weird ones. Before I found out I was pregnant I had a couple very vivid ones. One caused me to wake up crying and I could barely stop. I have a tendency to not remember my dreams though.
Bloating-Yes!! I have actually lost weight according to my nurse but I can't stand wearing half of what I own. I am going to try and make it through this trimester though before I go get stuff!!
Sonograms-Well I got my first one because I didn't know the date of my pregnancy. Then I got my second one because he couldn't tell from the first. But he does do them on all pregnancys at the initial appt. My initial was just earlier than most due to past m/c. My last dr. also did them. I don't get beta draws so I think it is beta or u/s. I really am not sure but I am not going to argue with it! I love it!
Some of the questions I got asked. It is more like what I didn't get asked!! Here are some I remember: Breast/Bottlefeed, Do we have cats(due to litter), do I want anthesia(?) while in labor, Do I have an infant seat yet-then will I will be getting one(duh! yeah!), if boy do we want circumsion, who will the pediatrician be, will be taking the classes offered through the hospital. There were more that I can't remember. I was really overwhelmed!!!
Well hope everyone has a good long weekend!(I hope everyone is getting one of those!)

I think most MD's do them to ensure date of baby by his or her size. But I have known friends not to have had them until 15 w

Hi Ladies! Hope eveyone's weekend is going great. Anyone venture out shopping today?
I'm doing good today. I was proud of myself yesterday for not slipping the beans about being knocked up. I did have to tell a little white lie though, since my mom knew about me being on Clomid and all. But we're just not ready to tell anyone (IRL) yet.
Count me in on the dreams! I had one the other night where DH and I were driving in his car and we somehow ended up in a lake, but the car floated and we could still drive it. Strange.
About early ultrasounds, I think it really just depends on your dr. I know some that do them, but a lot that don't. I know my dr will, but I do have somewhat of a history... it just depends. A friend of mine didn't find out she was having twins until her first u/s at 20 weeks!
And I forget who in this thread was talking about it. but DH called me "preggo" today and I nearly smacked him. I did say, "I am not spaghetti sauce!" but he didn't get it.
Welcome elissa! Glad to have you join us.

Kym, mine will be at 12 weeks (and that is my first) for nuchal translucency. It had to be done between 12 and 14 (?) weeks.
But I haven't had any before, and as a matter or fact, nobody has confirmed this pregnancy for me. AKA, I haven't seen a doc yet, and I'm 9w 3d I think.
Thanks for the cramping this. I didn,t have that much with my first pregnany totally with you on the spotting thing today:rolleyes:

With my son I didnt get one until 16-18 weeks. With my Daughter I got one early one b/c I started spotting and this time around I'm getting one early one just for precaution b/c my DD had health problems. I think its a dr preference. I had a few friends that went to the same practice and all the dr there do sonograms in the first appt.

hmmm thats kinda weird...my doc acted as if it was common place in his office to do an u/s at about 7-8 weeks. But maybe b.c i have a high risk pregnancy and have had two losses he is allowing more...and thats ok with me...any chance I can get to see the bean I am very happy about...:D
Well I still havent thrown up (Knocking on wood) YET..the nausea is getting worse..and it seems to be through out the middle of the day like 10:30 -1:00 which is kinda weird but thats ok...whatever I gotta do :D

Ladies, I'm having a little scare this morning.
I have been using Lavender oil as aromatherapy since forever. But learned this morning that it could be harmfu to the baby while pregnant...I didn't do it with DS (because the smell was just yucking me) , and now I'm basically freaking out...
I hope I haven't cause anything wrong :(
Anybody got info on this??
Cosmo,
I've never heard of that? do they mean lavendar when its eaten? It seems like there are so many things that could be bad. Could you call you OB? I'm sure everything will be fine. I freaked out last week because I totally forgot I can't eat blue cheese and eat a bunch... I think everything in moderation...Let me know what you find out... think positive:)
Me,
I'm excited about our cruise on Saturday. Does anyone know can I take medicine for sea sickness? I guess I'll ask my OB later in the week. Ethan has been so cute. He tells me he has a secret that he can only tell once we get on the "Big Boat". He says he isnt going to tell anyone about the baby in mommy's belly until then. I love it He's only 3 and knows not to tell!!
How everyone is having a nice Sunday!

I have had the worse week with this food thing...my ob told me to only have seafood 1-2 times a week...well we went to a seafood boil last night, and on T-giving Brians g-ma made corn and crab soup...then today my mom and dad came over for lunch and we had turkey sandwhiches...so i havent been doing so well...although I did pass on my favorite mexican cheese b/c i know its goat cheese and unpasturized...so i guess this week i need to be more aware of what i am eating...

Hi Ladies,
Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving!
Welcome Applebee! I hope you come back here with great news on Friday to join us ;)
Cosmo - any word on the lavendar oil? I know nothing about it - (but I haven't read anything that says you can't use it either) - it seems like there is a potential problem with every little thing. I'm sure you are fine but I hope you can get some reassurance from the doc.
Lauren and Lisa - hope you guys feel ok today!
Re: nausea - I can't decide if I have any or not - how silly does that sound? It's definitely not as bad as some of the rest of you - but I also don't feel 100% - just a little yucky if that makes sense. I guess queasy might be a good way to describe it. Usually I'm ok. Constipation and gas however (and the SORE boobs) - those seem to be going on as well.
I'm still in the crazy tp-staring club. TMI - last night I thought I saw a tinge (and by tinge - I mean miniscule) bit of brown in my CM (similar to what I might see before AF) - but it was so small and barely there - I had to remind myself it meant nothing. Of course, I couldn't help but think about it.
Ugh - I will feel so much better (I hope) once we hear the heartbeat / have an ultrasound. First US is 12/26 as part of the first trimester screening - not sure if the dr will try and hear the heartbeat before then.
So - for now - I just have to try and concentrate on work and remember that for the majority of people, everything is ok. (too much time on "babies on the brain" on the Nest can be a bad thing sometimes ....
Have a great day all - hope everybody feels good today!

While I don't stare at my tp very much, I'll share another confession....I'm still temping. :o I can't help it! I love seeing all the high temps. I'll stop.... eventually, lol.
Finally had my repeat beta today. They said I probably won't get the results until tomorrow, but I am pretty much ok with that. When I had my m/c, I was bleeding by now, and this time I haven't had as much as a spot. So that helps.
And I'm in the same boat with Robyn when it comes to nausea. I have some on and off queasyness but nothing too bad.
Hope everyone has an easy Monday!

Thanks everyone!
Just thought I'd chime in on the m/s. I haven't had any. I had nauseaousness (sp) around 4 weeks, but now I only get the occassional queasyness. But it goes away almost as soon as it started. My gf said she didn't get m/c until her 9th week with #1. She didn't have it for #2 or #3.
I've held off on getting highlights. I had an appt for 11/11 but when I got my + beta 11/6 I changed it to just a hair cut. My stylist laughed when he saw me and said "congratulations". He knew I had been doing IVF. He agreed that I should hold off on them. Luckily, it doesn't look too bad b/c I still have some original light hair.
Oh, and I look at my tp and panties every time I go to the bathroom!!

Good morning ladies! I hope you all enjoyed a great turkey day... I know I did.
Unfortunately, I walked away from the long weekend suffering from one heck of a cold. I can't breathe at all and my throat is dry and scratchy. So, I'm finishing up some lesson plans and am leaving when my sub gets here halfway through our day.
I also made some sub plans for the next few days just in case. It always stinks when you're a teacher and you get sick because you can't just call in sick. You have to go in anyways at least for a little while just to make the darn sub plans and get all your supplies and copies ready. I look like walking death today! :( It sure does stink that you can't really take anything other than Tylenol when you're pregnant... Poo!
Sorry for the all about me whiny post. I hope to be back soon feeling better and ready to keep up and write some personals.
I hope you are all feeling great and enjoying this early, early stage of pregnancy! ;)

m/s is ome of those things that is different for everyone, but I do think between 10-12 weeks is somewhat of a general rule. With my first pregnancy, I had pretty steady m/s from week 6 to week 10 or 11, with occasional episodes all the way until week 19.

First off, welcome to all the new members. Congrats!
Well, I've had spotting for the past week or so. I called the doc last Wednesday and the NP scheduled an ultrasound for today. Well, we had the ultrasound and everything looks good. S/he is 1.1 centimeters long and the heartbeat was 142 bpm.
Lisa You can take ginger for sea sickness. It will also help with morning sickness if that strikes. I think they sell candied ginger at grocery stores or drug stores.

Jessica and Lauren - hope you're both feeling better soon!
I feel better now that I have eaten. Of course, I wound up having a turkey sandwich for lunch - I ordered a roasted turkey sandwich (thinking it would be carved) and it was sliced. I think I'm ok though b/c I'm pretty sure they make the roasted turkey themselves and then just slice it - it's an upscale food place (not a regular deli) - so I think (hope!) I'm ok - but I probably won't get it again. I even called the place to find out if they roasted it themselves  and the girl thought so - they roast it at night and cut it the next day.
Also just called and made a consult appointment with another doctor's office - just not sure what we think of the one we're at. They're fine I'm sure - but it will be interesting to check another one out. (we're also thinking we might prefer a different hospital)
So, currenly I have a consult at another office on the 8th and then I am scheduled for an appointment at a birthing center (I think I will cancel) and my current doctor's office on the 11th. Enough appointments? :)
I've really got to find some hospital reviews to help make up my mind. One of the good things about my current practice is 2 nights of evening appointments ... but if I like the other practice (or hospital) better, I guess I will switch.
Hope everyone else continues to feel good / starts feeling better!
Hello Ladies! How are you all feeling? I'm stuffed. I had a chicken sub for lunch from Publix. It was good but man I'm so full! We're having chicken Piccata with veggies for dinner. I guess you all can tell food is on my brain;)
Browneyedgirl Thanks for the tip on the ginger. I herad about that. Because I'm nausea most of the day I got my dr to call in a prescrip but I think I might to the ginger too just incase I dont like the pills he called in.
