How many times did you look at your house before you put an offer on it?
We looked at the house we have an offer on two times. We went with just our RE the first time and took our families the next day to get their opinions on it and put the offer on the house that day. (We've since been back a bunch to show it to other people...) Just curious how many times you looked at your house before you decided it was the one?

Same here, twice. The first time we saw a bunch of places, then the second time we went to the three we had narrowed it down to and brought my parents with us because we wanted their opinions on all of them before we decided. It was weird because on the second visit we both just knew which one was best for us and went for it.

Twice for us too. One day we decided to go to open houses just for something to do. We really liked the house so we decided to see about pre-approval. Within 6 days of originally seeing the house we submitted an offer that was accepted in less than an hour.

Twice. First time, we saw it on our first day of 'house shopping' where we looked at 18 houses. Later that week, we went for a longer visit just to this house, with extra family for a second opinion. Put in an offer the next day.

We put offers on 2 houses. The first house we looked at twice. The house we ended up buying, we put an offer immediately after leaving our one and only viewing, the first day it was on the market. We didn't go back again til the inspection.

This is us. We lost the bid, then a week later the other buyer backed out and they accepted our offer.

The first house, only once. DH bought it at an auction and you only get one shot at those. The second house, we looked at twice, once at an open house and once with our agent. The third house, three times before making the offer then several times afterwards as it was FSBO and we negotiated at the house.

I think about 4-5 times over 4 months. We looked at it twice, decided to hold off. Then a couple of months later went back and decided to put an offer on it.

We visited our current home twice, but on the same day. We actually only spent one day looking at houses; our current house was the first one that we saw, and we loved it. At the end of the day, we wanted to see it again to make sure that it was as good for us as we remembered.

We looked at our first house twice. The first time it was just me and DH. The second time we brought my parents along for their input.
We looked at our current house once, and made the decision on our own. It was a no-brainer after the crap we had seen.
Twice - the first time, just the three of us and the realtor. The second visit, DH's parents came too. We put the offer in that night.

Twice. Both times it was DH, me, and DD. After the second time we put in an offer on it. The market was moving too fast then (summer) to dawdle about it, plus there was another house on the same street that was also for sale. The asking price on it was 20k higher, but it needed the same amount of updating. THAT house was going to sell this house, so we figured we'd better act fast. We had the advantage of being the first people to see this house.

Twice - First with DH during a regularly scheduled open house. The second time I met our realtor there on my lunch break to make sure I was comfortable putting in an offer. This was two days later. By that night, the house was ours.

One. We had seen a different house that was just up the street and the same model. We loved it but wanted to see a few more thigns. A couple weeks later, this one come on the market and we saw t once, went home and agonized over which of the two we preferred, and eventually decided to make offers on both and see what happened.

Twice, though both on the same day, and we delivered our offer at our second viewing. It does seem a little crazy to drop that much money on something that you see for only half an hour or so...
The woman that bought our house had four viewings before putting in her offer. Some of them were more than an hour long, and she brought different people every time. It drove me nuts at the time, but I do admire her thoroughness.

Once. It was two years ago and the market was much hotter than it is now. A few days before, we lost a different house to someone who offered less but waived the inspection. That house we only looked at once before making the offer as well. By the time we made both of those offers, we had looked at enough other houses to know what we wanted when we saw it.

I was hoping you all were going to say one time! ;) We've had lots of people looking at our house, but no one has come thru a 2nd time or put any offers on the table.

Twice
1st time - DH and realtor
2nd time - us & realtor
Our offer was put in a day late behind another offer. Those people ended up backing out, and then we got the house.

Just to give you hope. The people who bought our old house made an offer after only looking once.

once here too. we'd seen many houses over several months, put several offers down (nothing that worked out of course) and then finally stepped into our house and sat down on the couch before even leaving to draw up papers!

Once, both times.
First time - the market was so crazy 3 yrs ago, if you didn't put an offer on it the day it was listed, it would be gone. We knew what we wanted.
Second time - we weren't looking to move. A great deal presented itself in terms of location, property, and house so we went to look at it, thought "hey we could live here" and made an offer. Voila!

Once. It was the second house we looked at, and after 3-4 more houses, I told DH and the realtor that we needed to just put an offer in on the 2nd house and go home. So we did.
Our offer was accepted that night. The next day I tried to drive by it again to check it out, only to realize that I had NO IDEA where it was even located.

Twice. Our house had been on the market and had been "flipped" so although we fell in love with it on first pass, we wanted our friend who restores old houses to give it an unofficial inspection on a second visit. When he gave us the thumbs up, we put in our first offer.

Twice.
First time with the Realtor during a 6-home tour on a Saturday.
Second was the next day at the end of the OH and their selling agent gave us a thorough tour of all the owner had done, what the pre-sell inspection had indicated and what more could be done.
We put an offer that night and it was ours by the end of the week.
DH got to see it at the inspection this week, but I won't see it until the final walk-through in July.

We looked twice-2 days in a row. We took my parent's to look when we went the 2nd time just to see what they thought.
On our current home that is currently under contract we had 3 second showings but none came through with an offer. The person that is buying our house only looked 1 time.
I looked twice and was also the agent. During the day me & my SIL looked and then later that evening I took my then H. We wrote an offer that night.
When we sold it, it was semi-vacant so I really don't know how many times the buyers came by. The buyers did come by a lot during escrow even when there wasn't a specific reason to. I understand they were excited but I was trying to get the house packed up and it was a bad situation between me & H.

We looked one time in person in April (I think - maybe early May), and about one million times online. We made an offer late last week, it was accepted, and I spent almost 3 hours there yesterday during the inspection.

We visited twice before submitting our offer - once at Open House w/o our realtor (she was away for the weekend) and then we did a private visit with just our realtor so we could spend some real time in the place and not feel rushed.

That day, 4 hours after seeing it for the first time. I actually knew it was "the house" pretty immediately after walking in the front door. :)
I saw it around 1pm and we were writing up our offer and listing our house by 5pm.
Oddly enough, we had two showings and two offers on the house we sold in 6 days!
The folks who bought it were the first to see it. :)

Not even a whole visit. :D lol. Dh got to the house before me and when i walked into the foyer he said 'So, do you want to buy it'. We were the third offer in the first 12 hours and contracted for $5000 over the asking price!
