Check In
Okay, ladies the 3rd trimester (wks 27 to delivery) is officially here. Please check over all the information. If there are mistakes, please let us know. If you posted them in the last thread they will soon be updated.
The Mommy ID updates will be sent once a week. When they are updated it will be announced. Please let us know when you post a picture if they are to be used for the IDs or not. Include how far along you are in the belly shot or u/s so it can be added to the picture.
There are a couple of new things in this thread. Baby showers have now be included for the important date post. So if you know the date you can post it and it will be added to the list. The group shower information is included above. The limit will not be more than $10 or $15. We may stick with $10 since we will all need to ship the gift and that can quickly add up. Please send a PM with Group Shower as the subject to be included in it.

The thread is now OPEN. Please start posting in this thread. The members whose due date is in the beginning of the month are now entering the 3rd trimester. For others it will still be a while before you are in the 3rd trimester but we'll go ahead and start posting here.
If you want, you can post a picture so we can get to know you even more. It can be a wedding picture, a picture of pet, or something else that is near and dear to your heart.
The
3rd trimester
is now here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Am I the first one to post???
kindermom - I notice I am not paying as much attention to this pregnancy as I did with my first. I'm just too busy with DS that it makes it nearly impossible to do so.
Janey - What great belly shots! I got my nursing bras last time from Target and I loved them. I got a sports bra type one and a underwire one....I know some people say to stay away from those because you might get clogged ducts, but I never had any problems.
I was up another 5 pounds at my doctor appt yesterday. I have to take the GTT test right before Thanksgiving.

Good luck, everybody!

kindermom I'm not paying much attention to this pg either. I have to put the weeks on the calendar on the fridge or I forget. I'm just freaked out that the 3rd trimester is lurking around the corner and I'm just not ready.
jenjen Beautiful wedding photo. Your dress is gorgeous!
janey I bought my nursing bras at Kohl's and only after I gave birth. BFing was never an issue or heartache for me. And I never had nipple tenderness or any of the other issues some women experience. DH likes the boobies and constantly is grabbing at them. I think that helped :D.
Found a cute new website: www.bumkins.com
they have the CUTEST Dr. Suess apparel. I saw a set of onesies for 3-9mths that had Thing 1 and Thing 2 on them! So cute for twins. And then they had toddler t-shirts with Thing 1 and a onesie with Thing 2. They were suppoesd to have Grinch holiday tees on there, but I couldn't find them. Grrrr.....I thought I was going to get a head start on X-Mas shopping. Also for those cding, they have supplies and cutie diaper covers.

Wow - 3rd trimester thread - woo hoo!
We're going to a wedding in San Fran this weekend, and DH and I both got the OK to take next week off & stay out there (since we cancelled our trip to France after my mom died). I'm SO excited!!!
But since I'm flying on Friday, I've bumped my OB appt up - TM - my appt is now 11/8 instead of whenever it was supposed to be next week.
Sorry for no s/o's - I'm keeping up, just not writing much. We had our class on Saturday & I thought it was a lot of good info. Glad we did the one day & done class though...

Winter Coat ~ I didn't need to worry about needing a maternity winter coat last time I was pregnant because I could still wear my regular winter coats just fine. This time it's a different story. I have one that I've been wearing but I know if my belly gets much bigger (and all of the ROs know it will - just when you think you can't get any bigger you do) I won't be able to zip it. I really don't see the point in buying a coat that I'll only wear maybe 2 months. It just seems so expensive to do that when we can use the money on other things.
bombera ~ Thanks. No, I can't believe that it's just about 3 (very) short months away! As far as regarding the "too late" comments for getting an epidural, the reason some hospitals do this is because when you are far enough dilated sitting in one position can be absolute torture and simply can't be done. Even the slightest movement while the needle is being inserted can spell disaster for you (and cause many problems including being paralyized).
ejs ~ Sorry about failing the one hour GTT and having to take the 3 hour one. Hopefully it's not too bad. I had to take three one hour tests when I was pregnant with DD. I was able to keep the stuff down but there were a few times where I didn't think I was going to be able to. Then there was the time I got the pina colada one and it was more than I could stomach to even drink (that was the worst one about keeping it down). This time it's the orange one. I just hope that the day I have to drink it is a good day for me.
kindermom ~ I've had to pay just as much attention to this pregnancy as my first. Due to the problems I experienced in the first trimester (spotting/bleeding and a medical condition I have), then everything else (including my mom's illness, the problems it caused with my pregnancy and still dealing with m/s) it's always on my mind.
Nursing Bras ~ I never found any that I liked last time. I'm used to wearing underwire bras and the only nursing ones I could find didn't have underwire. I just wore sports bars while I was nursing. May have to do things differently this time around since hopefully I'll get to BF longer.
jenjen ~ Love the wedding picture! Your dress was gorgeous. Was burgundy a color in your wedding? We had burgundy and hunter green (and heard it from a few people that those weren't spring colors but there were our favorite colors) with silver as an accent color.
jenah ~ You're welcome. You're still a member of this group and welcome here anytime. Your girls are our first babies and will be listed in our roster always. (Unless you ask them to be removed.) I'll fix the mistakes soon. Sorry about that.
MrsSki ~ DH wants me to get onesies for DD and DS and put Thing 1 on DD's since she was our first and Thing 2 on DS.
philly ~ Enjoy your trip.
Jen ~ Good luck finding decorating ideas. We missed the step of having to go out, pick the wall color and buy the paint since they were already both painted and we just kept the same colors in the rooms.
Princess ~ First timers- Anyone a little overwhelmed with the responsibility of being a mom?
Not a first time mom but I remember being a little overwhelmed at the thought of being the only one to take care of DD most of the time. I worried about doing something wrong, something going wrong, etc. I'd never been given so much responsibility before in my life. Now I'm worried about the thought of having two to take care of at the same time. I'm worried about not doing enough for one of the kids, not having enough time to spend with each one, not being there when one of them needs me, or having them both need me at the same time. And the list goes on. As a parent, you find that you never stop worrying. You worry during the pregnancy, then you worry about delivery, then you worry about this and that. It's a never ending battle and one of the joys (or not depending upon how you look at it) that goes along with having kids.
Wonderful picture of you two as well.
Belly Shots ~ Can be used for the IDs

Thanks, usawife. I'm really dreading the test. My DH is awesome, though, and said that he'll take the morning off and hang out with me at the doctor's office. That will help alleviate some of the boredom. And he's so supportive when I'm not feeling well.
PrincessCJ81, I'm definitely beginning to feel overwhelmed. I feel like I've been a failure as a pregnant woman because I've been so sick, so that causes me to worry that I'll be a failure as a mom.

Thanks, usafwife, for the new thread. Looks good!
usafwife: I totally understand what you said about getting even bigger, but it is kinda hard to imagine. I feel so big already.
PrincessCJ: I'm not feeling too overwhelmed, right now, about soon being responsible for another person. But I'm sure it'll hit me soon (like probably after this semester ends and I stop freaking out about how little time I have left to get my class projects done).
phillytiger: Have fun in San Fransisco!
Not much going on. We picked up several paint chips this weekend to decide on the color of our nursery walls.

Paying attention to pregnancy What? I'm pregnant?! I haven't been able to stop to pay much attention beyond checking in here.
LOL Daniel's Kitty! I can't imagine how busy you RO's must be with the little ones and still trying to get some sleep. I am doing well to get to work, get home, make dinner and veg on the couch...
PhillyTiger- have a great trip! You deserve a break. That is for sure.
usafwife, MrsSki and E's princess- great belly shots!
EJS- That is great that dh will sit with you for the test. I always find it easier to cope when there is someone there worrying about me! I will pray that everything comes out okay!
Elenna- I finally finished my second dipe last night from the stretch terry that I had. It turned out pretty well, but I need to work on getting the elastic right, but just for appearances. I think it will function just fine. I bought some small wraps from diaperswappers.com (have you ever been, it is addicting) and also some poo pockets (I know the name is too funny) but they are one size (birth to potty) and I wanted to try and make some so having some finished will be nice to look at. I am trying to find some good deals on CPF's on there, but I may just register for some! Right now I think I have enough covers to get the baby through mediums- it's just the diapers I need! I better keep sewing. Only three months to go!
I keep wondering which one of us will "go" first. (of course Jenah's girls were our true first). Isobel will probably be next with her girls, but the rest of us with just one, I am curious as to how early some of our little ones will make an appearance. I suppose mid-January some of the babies will be welcomed. That is only 2.5 months away! Yikes. No time at all! I can't wait...
I love all the pictures. They are so much fun to see.
I will share a few too!
http://static.flickr.com/110/292285025_19552db452_m.jpg
This next shot is one of my favs because I am trying so hard to smile and not lose my cool at my dh's family as they try to gather EVERYONE from his side of the family that was present for the wedding (about 1/2 of the 175 that were there) for a photo and it was just out of control! I have never heard of such a thing. People were already at the reception (granted it was only about 100yds away) and they were having to go hunt people down and it was taking forever. Oh well. This picture still cracks me up. DH thinks it's pretty funny that I am fuming, with such a smile!
http://static.flickr.com/119/292285023_086ddca9a5_m.jpg
And then you all see my puppy anytime I post, so he doesn't need anymore airtime!
******
I had my OB appt. yesterday and although I had tried so hard to keep my weight down this month by eating very carefully and exercising like a crazy pregnant woman, I gained more this month than any other month! I give up! I have gained a total of 22 lbs and I only wanted to gain 25-30. Oh well. With three months to go I don't think that will be happening. A girl can dream right? My dr. tried to reassure me that every woman's body reacts differently and that mine is just gaining weight. Apparently, that is just what I do!
He told me my 1-hour glucose looked fine, (sorry to those having trouble...) but I didn't anticipate a problem. My sugar is usually on the low side anyway. He did tell me that my blood count had dropped from 35 in my initial blood work, to 29 this last time. He said the anemia is because my baby is a leech! Just kidding, but the baby is using all my iron and leaving me a bit deficient. So, that means I have to start taking iron supplements. I should have known all this feeling great would come to an end. The iron will probably make me nauseated and will also increase constipation(like I really need that). Not fun... So, I am going out today to pick some up. Apparently he wasn't too worried because he let me go a month without telling me this. This annoyed me a bit, but it also made me feel like I shouldn't be too worried because he didn't tell me right away. I haven't been tired or anything, so it must not be too bad yet. Anyone else taking iron supplements?

Woohoo, a new and beautiful thread. I can't believe it is the third trimester already for some of you!
I love all the pictures people are posting. I have been horrible about uploading belly shots (though I have been taking them semi-regularly). I think it is because our office is half packed away and in total shambles. So doing anything like that on the computer just annoys me right now. I'm hoping to get it all packed up and everything put away this weekend, so maybe then I will be better.
However, here are some from 22 weeks:

First, usaf, thanks for pulling this thread together. It is great!
jenjen, at least you take the test before Thanksgiving and not when you are on a pumpkin pie high afterwards :)
jenah, how was your memorial for the girls? I thought of you last Saturday and hope it went as it could.
Mrsski, that is a cute website. I'm going to have to get something for my BFF whos whole nursery is done in Dr Suess.
philly, have a great time in San Francisco! I love that city. Perfect place for a babymoon. And don't forget, you can still do wine tasting, just limit the swallowing :)
jen, I get scared when I start looking at real timelines. What were we thinking mixing these last few months in with the holidays? Time is going to fly!!
usaf, isn't it funny how people will always make comments about things, like wedding colors :) Good for you for doing what you wanted.
ejs, you are most certainly not a failure as a pg woman! You're not out drinking, or carousing the town. You do the best you can do. In fact, I think your little one deserves quite a talking to for putting you through all of this. I truely hope your little one is an angel because you deserve a break!
elenna, so did you decide on paint colors? I'm so excited to see everyone's nurseries as they come together!
labride, I echo my post to ejs. You are doing a great job. I honestly don't know if I could have handled everything you have gone through!
kat, you crack me up!!!
bombera, I think we're in the same boat in regards to weight. I had also hoped to keep it to 25-30 but seeing that i am up about 20 already, that is not going to happen. We'll just have to motivate each other to lose it next year.
I too wonder when the babies will start arriving in full force. I'm guessing we'll have several go early, then some like me, might go until March!

Don't worry about your weight gain. Some women just gain more than others. I refuse to panic that I am not really gaining weight when I am eating healthy and tons and you shouldn't worry that you are gaining more than recommended. I think that the amount is different for every woman.
My son is back to normal on his second day of being treated for an ear infection. Him cuddling and sleeping all day was so much easier than chasing him though. He is terrorizing the house again. I have never seen him that calm and quiet.

Cole and I celebrated our making it to 26 weeks, by devouring Chicken Fried Chicken, mashed potatoes, fried corn, honey rolls and a cookie for lunch. I can barely walk and I feel like pooh, but man was it good going down!!!!! Weight gain, who cares??? Okay, usually I care, but not today:D
I love pics of everyone! So cute! It's nice to see what you ladies actually look like.
Nursery- I can't wait to see what everyones room looks like!
ranchers- I love the pj's!
EDD- I expect we will have several January babies....I'm not going to think about Cole coming early b/c we won't be ready for him until February so I guess I'll just have to hold him in there until his room is ready. ;)
RO's- Sorry I didn't include you in having overwhelming freak-out feelings about the responsibility of a newborn. I mean, having 2 to worry about is even more scary than only having one.
OMG- If one more person tells me their labor story from hell, someone might have to bail me out of jail. I'm serious. I am already scared outta my mind thinking about the pain and some random person's story about the 3 days of agony they went through to deliver does not make my elevator ride any better.
Labride- Your babies are adorable!!!
boilermaker- Your baby is precious as well!!
Michelle- I can so picture you trying to be sweet while the Cletus' all get together for a good ole' East Texas family pic. My DHs family did the exact same thing, but my face wasn't so sweet in our pics :p
EJS- I feel like I suck at being pregnant too. I always thought I'd be the perfect pregnant wife and it turns out I am the farthest thing from!! I know in the end, no matter how sick I am, DH and I will forget it as soon as we meet DS.

Time is really flying by! I passed my 1 hour glucose test, but found out that I'm a slight bit anemic. I'm not too surprised since I don't eat red meat and that's the best source of it. Bomberra77, I'm joining you in taking iron supplements. I got the slow FE type and have not had any problems taking them after a meal with vitamin C or OJ (which helps with absorption).
And one more thing on iron...it's confusing when you look at the package labels. ~65 mg elemental iron=325 mg ferrous sulfate which is the amount my dr recommended. I didn't understand why the iron mg numbers were so small on all of the packages until I figured that out--in fine print on the back.
PrincessCJ81-Some days I feel overwhelmed at the idea of being a parent, the added responsibility and not having my own time/space.
Definitely don't think of yourself as a failure because of your body's reaction to pregnancy. Our childbirth instructor talked about how you hear about puberty all the time and the changes that happen over several years, but really there is no other time in your life where you body is going through such immense changes in such a short amount of time. By the way, everyone in the class is having a boy except for 2 girls and 1 surprise!

And a video of me tossing the bouquet (http://www.vimeo.com/clip:76951) just cause I think it's so damn funny. :p
aloha - I eat plenty of red meat (this baby's favorite food is a hamburger, I swear) and they still found I was anemic. So ya just never know. I am also taking the Slow FE. I got them at Target.
LA Bride - I think you might be Nicole Kidman's younger sister. ;) And it's nice to see another sleeved bride!
btw Threadmistress - what a great idea to share photos. I'm loving finally putting faces to names! :D
Thanks everyone for all of the information on the Nursing Bras. A good friend of mine bought a Bravado bra that is too small for her but will probably fit me just fine so she's going to send it to me in the mail for me to try out. So that'll help. I did also bump up a thread called Nursing Bra Questions... (http://www.constantchatter.com/forum/showthread.php?t=2660) it had some pretty good info in it, and got some more after I bumped it up. I hope it helps some of you gals too. :)

The new thread looks great!
Update: At my last appt, my OB told me that my hcg was elevated on my AFP screen. Apparantly, this is sometimes seen when the placenta isn't functioning adequately, which can mean a small baby. So from now on, we have an u/s once a month for the rest of my pg to make sure the baby looks good. The good news is the baby was measuring ahead last u/s.
We took a hospital tour on monday. It was a long and late night, but good to get aquainted w/ everything. We also won a raffle and have a consultation w/ a child safety seat expert. I guess they'll come to your house to make sure your car seat is installed correctly. Apparantly, over 80% of car seats are installed incorrectly. Scary!
Everyone's pics look great. I'll try to add some too.
My next OB appt and u/s is 11/21.
Anemia: Almost all pg women will suffer from some degree of anemia during pg, no matter what you eat. This is due to the increase in blood volume. It's very common and not really anything to worry about.
QOTD- Cribs: Is anyone else stressing over this? We finally ordered our crib last weekend, and it will take 8-12 weeks to arrive. That means, worst case senario, we won't get it until I'm 37 weeks. I'm such a planner, and this is definitly not what I'd planned.

PrincessCJ81 - No worries about leaving us ROs out of the game. The first time I was happily oblivious. This time I spent the first 3 months freaking out. I mean what the heck was I thinking when I decided to try to get pg. And who knew that it would only take a month! OMG I will have 2 under 2.
Labor story made in heaven (or at least not hell) - AKA My abrreviated birth story
I went to the hospital at 11 pm the day before my EDD. The OB on call said that while I was 3 cm dilated, I was able to have a sense of humor between contrax and therefore must not be in hard labor. So home I went. I took a warm bath to try to help with the contrax when I got home around 11:30 (water hadn't broken so tubs were ok) and then the full on labor came. Ok, no more joking. I actually do not remember much between 11:30 and 1:00 when I told DH we had to get to the hospital.
When I got there I was assigned a room right outside the nursing station and I got my favorite nurse! (I had been there a few times before). For about 30 minutes I was drug free and mighty comfortable. Around 2:00 they gave me an epidural and I fell asleep. I slept until about 3:30 or 4:00 when I woke to my water breaking. And then I fell asleep again.
Exciting right? Around 6:00 I woke with a sensation to push so I woke DH. We got the nurse. About 15 minutes later I felt the incredible urge to push so my OB was called. I ended up with about 3 pushes with my favorite nurse assisting. DH had the camera going. I was told to stop after 3 pushes because the baby was coming. So I held off for what seemed to be eternity but was really only a minute or two.
The OB came in, put on her gown, and told my DH to put down the camera and grab a leg. One more set of 3 and the baby was coming. Two more pushes and there is a little cry. There was a little tearing despite my DD being very small. But all told, I had about 5 1/2 hours of hard labor and 8 pushes. Pretty easy in the scheme of things. Not all labors are awful.
I love all the pics! The bellies are beautiful and U/S are amazing. And of course there are cool candids where you can actually see the people.
EJS- There is no right way to be pg. Enjoy what aspects of your pg you can and remember that it all goes away once you have your baby.

I've got the list of updates
ladybug777, PrincessCJ81, & phillytiger ~ appts
boilermaker, rancherswife, usafwife, & E'sprincess ~ belly shots
I have received PMs from dpangel33, bombera77, MrsSki, phillytiger, E'sprincess, la_bride_2004, ladybug777, & usafwife to be included in the baby shower. If you don't have a registry set up yet, that's fine. I thought it might be good if we did the sign up deadline before Thanksgiving and if any of us went shopping over the Thanksgiving weekend we might be able to find something for our buddy then. What does everyone think of a budget? Ten dollars sound good? I'd put it at $15 but realize that with the holidays and then figuring shipping costs that might be stretching some of us too thin. Any ideas??
I'll try to get to the updates tomorrow. I've had some other things come up today and wasn't able to get to them. I'll also try and send the Mommy ID update Friday or over the weekend. Any changes that are posted by then will be included. If something needs to be changed or you don't see your name listed as having/needing an update please let me know.
Thanks.

princess: Thanks ;) They're my fav. pj's and I'm about to outgrow them, I'm sure you can tell, the seams are pulled tight! I think I've had them since highschool! ;)
horror labor stories: I don't know why people find it important to share their horrid l&d stories! Girls, DON'T LISTEN! Tell them thanks but no thanks. My advice, go into it w/ an open mind and no great expectations for certain things. That's what I did and had a wonderful experience, I was fortunate to have a fairly short labor and really short delivery, BUT...that doesn't matter. Clearly...if it were as bad as some of these women try and make it sound, there would be no such thing as a RO! ;) Don't stress yourselves out over something you have NO control over. Just ride the wave when it comes a crashin' and you'll be fine, I promise! :)
I gotta get a pic. up, I have a recent one of Landon and I from the pumpkin patch, but I wanna share my wedding photo too, since everyone else is! ;) Gotta do some searching in my files.
ordering furniture: I still need to order ours. I plan on doing that this weekend. Not to worry, w/ Landon's, they told me 8-12 weeks and it was here in like 3-5 weeks. I think they give you worst case scenerio.
Everyone's pics. are beautiful!

Dr's appt update - Everything looks good, measured exactly 24 wks but I'm up 8 lbs in one month so that's a grand total of 22
Next appt is Dec 6th for OB & GTT (and can you please change DH's age to 26)
CB Class - Had our first class tonight and we met another young couple who is naming their daughter Riley Madison  I was floored when I heard the name and now want to ask how they picked it (for those who don't remember we have picked Madison Riley). Plus they drive the same make, model, and color car I do!! I'm totally weirded out!!!

I'm loving all the wedding pictures of everyone! We are a bunch of hot looking moms if I do say so myself! :D
ladybug - Snapfish no longer works on this site. Not sure why. I've been using Photobucket.
I don't know about anyone else, but I'm really starting to notice I'm getting short of breath when I walk up stairs or when I talk for a long time. Last night I had to give a one hour presentation for my job and I sounded like I had just ran a mile and was huffing and puffing! Anyone else having that?

Horror labor stories I dont' have one to share. DD was a week overdue and I was induced. I worked an 8 hour day the day I was scheduled to check in at the hospital (checked in about 7pm). They inserted Cervadil because I wasn't dilated and DD hadn't even dropped. No contractions. Nothing. They thought the Cervadil would bring on labor. Nope. Nothing. They removed the Cervadil about 8am the next morning, broke my water about 9:30am and started about two drops of Pitocin about 10am. I labored sitting on the toilet and pacing in my room until 11:15am and begged for the epidural. That was inserted and I was numb by 12:30pm. Nurse inserted the catheter and checked me by 1pm and told me to push. By 1:30 and 9 half-assed pushes, DD was here. Easy as pie. DD wasn't even wiped off and I was begging DH to get pg again. Drug induced psychosis!!!!
picturesI love these!!! And yes, we are all some pretty hot mama's. I'll have to find some to post.
Today is a busy day. I've got back to back conference calls most of the day and I just heard that two of my bosses (with larger offices) are being moved to another floor next week and neither one are here the rest of the month and I'm working from home 3 days next week. UGH!! Thank goodness one of our new consultants is in the rest of this week and can help me pack.
Baby shower I'm OK with $10 - $15. I love buying presents and find it so hard to stay within a price range!!

No horror story for me either I have heard tons though. That is nice about the second time though, people don't share as much.
I passed the 3-hour GTT! Yay!
There was some confusion, though. The regular lab tech wasn't there and the sub seemed to have some trouble finding things. So she drew my fasting blood and then gave me the glucose. I popped my straw in the bottle and sucked it down. It was the same size bottle as my 1-hour test. I actually commented to my DH that I thought I was going to have to drink more this test.
We had our own exam room, so I could lie down for the whole three hours. It was a struggle to keep the glucose down, but I knew that if I threw it up, I'd have to take the darn test again!
We got home after the final blood draw and I looked online. I saw that you're supposed to take 100g of glucose for the 3-hour test. I was CONVINCED my bottle said 50g. I called and left a message for the nurse, then spoke with the lab tech. (Not the one who performed the test because she had left, but the regular one who was there.) She tried to tell me that she was sure I got the right one. I just couldn't believe it. So she told me she'd dig through the garbage. I spoke with her a little later and she told me she found a 100g bottle with a straw in the garbage. She was incredibly defensive for the other tech and was adamant that a mistake would not be made in their lab. I still didn't believe that I drank 100g.
Half an hour ago, the nurse called to tell me I passed. We discussed the bottle incident again. She said that she was in the lab with the tech while the tech went through three cans of garbage. She found a 100g bottle with a straw and that was the only glucose bottle in all three garbage cans. My nurse said she saw the whole thing. So she's convinced I had 100g.
I do feel some relief about that. So I'm thrilled that I passed. I feel guilty that I questioned the lab. And I'm also annoyed that the lab tech got so defensive. But oh well. All that really matters is that I don't have to take the test again! And that I get to eat pasta!
I hope you all are doing really well! Thanks for reading my long tale.

Updated to here for thread changes. Mommy ID updates will be sent by Saturday. Anything posted by Friday evening will be included in the update.
I included a list of the Mommy ID updates on the front page where the list of updates is. I thought it would make it easier to see if your update was/is included. There is also a list of general thread updates. If you don't see your name listed and you posted something that needs to be updated, then let us know either by posting or sending us a PM. You can also PM me directly if it's been a couple of days and you still aren't listed.
I have 9 shower participants now. Remember to send me a PM by the deadline to be included.
Thanks.

Threadmistress- My next OB appt. is Tuesday Nov 28th (not much time to recover after thanksgiving feasting- I have a feeling this one is not going to be a good weight appt!)
Anyone else watch Gray's Anatomy last night? I had a total breakdown. They shouldn't show stuff like that on TV and any of you that watched know what I mean! It is just too much for a pregnant woman to handle watching someone lose their baby! My husband told me not to watch, but once I had already figured out what happened it was too late. I was very glad to feel my baby kicking during the whole episode though. That was a relief!
EJS!- congrats on passing the test! Here's to the pasta! Aren't you glad you didn't go straight to the diet? Lab mistakes do happen and you were right to question- it was awfully nice of the tech to dig throughout the trash though! :)
Baby Shower- $10-15 is okay with me too.
Danea- Isn't it crazy the things that happen? It seems like such a small world sometimes! Your belly is looking great. I swear you look bigger than when I saw you! I am sure we are all going to be growing exponentially at this point!
*****
I am starting to notice that I am not as comfortable at night. I really have to prop my head up higher so that I can breathe better. I know that having almost three months to go, it is going to get worse before it gets better- but for right now it is just mildly annoying. The girl in my office who is having a c-section on the 21st is looking pretty miserable and having trouble walking because she is in quite a bit of pain (sciatica). I am hoping that won't be me, but I am going to pretend to be immune to it.
I talked to my sister last night about the iron pills and she said it is very common, and I know several of you told me that as well. She had to take iron with both of her boys. I am getting excited about seeing the family for thanksgiving and she is going to give me some baby stuff to take home with us. Then the whole family is coming here on Jan 27th, so that should be a ton of fun. I just hope the baby waits until then, but not too much longer than that!
I hope everyone has a great weekend!

Michelle....................I should have come on here first... I just watched it, I was balling my eyes out. Between that and ER, there's all these baby story lines... I don't think I can take it. Thank goodness... lit'l princess is kicking away right now. Just makes me think, how clumsy I can be... and how something as silly as a slip in the shower, can be so damaging. Still can't stop thinking about it.... On another note, went yesterday, and did another register at Babies R' Us. So there's that done.
Also next appt is switched to Tuesday the 14th, 3 hour GTT and Appt. Eric took the day off so we can be together. Also I just found out he has Monday off... so this will be a NICE LONG weekend for us.
Have a great weekend everybody.

EJS- Yeah for passing your test!
Michelle- I'm with you on having trouble sleeping lately. I stole DH's pillow last night to prop myself up more =).
Gray's- It was a little too close to home last night, but I really needed a good cry and it gave me an excellent reason.
I saw DH's paternal instinct for the first time while watching the show. During the sad scene he said to me, we're getting a no-slip mat this weekend and I'm going to help you in and out of the shower from now on. He was still thinking about it this morning and asked if I should start taking baths only.
DP- She has really grown, even since a couple of weeks ago!!
E's- good luck on your long test!
Have a good weekend everyone!!!

Candice... That's funny I was telling Eric about the story line, his first response was the same... Take baths from now on, get the non-slip mat.. and.... to stop watching these type of shows. I totally freaked when ER did there season premier with Abby.. and now this... What's a pregnant woman to do... or watch.... I know... DAYS... lol

Oh, geesh, I'm glad I didn't watch Grey's Anatomy. They really shouldn't show stuff like that or at least they should put a warning before the show that pregnant women shouldn't watch it.
ejs: Congrats on passing the 3h-GTT!
horror stories: I haven't heard any labor horror stories, but I did get a horror from a friend of mine just this past weekend. Her little boy has developmental disabilities and has to wear a hearing aid. I finally found out why. I won't pass it on here because it is pretty scary to think about (one of those things you just can't control).
The crib and changing table combo were delivered today! Quite a surprise because the email comfirmations indicated it would take longer. I really felt for the UPS delivery lady. She's pretty petit and had to get the 100lb changing table box up our front stairs by herself (I couldn't help her). The box must have weighed just as much as she did. It sure was bigger than her (width wise and almost tall wise).
I had a miserable day yesterday. I even left my noon class early because I was feeling so bad. Constipation hit really bad, I've never had it that bad before. From about 10am til 5:30pm I was in a lot of discomfort. It hurt to sit, stand, walk, lay down, bend over, and just move. I felt nauseous, had a lower back ache, and a lot of rectal pressure. I wondered off and on yesterday if I was going into labor. But I really tried not to think about that as I wasn't feeling any contractions. I took a Colace (recommended by my OB) and it finally took effect around 5:30pm. I'm going to take Colace every day now to avoid that happening again.
Little Lee must have not liked me being so uncomfortable because he was just wiggling and kicking the whole time. He even moved into a vertical position for a few hours (I got a few kicks right below my ribs).

Gray's I don't watch this and am glad I didn't. I don't want to know what happened, but I'm gathering it wasn't good.
sleeping Ugh. I'm so having issues. Rolling from one side to the other is a huge feat. Rolling on to my right side gives me ridiculous heartburn and then I feel like I'm having to heave a bowling ball from one side to the other. I can't sleep on my back anymore because I feel like I've got an elephant sitting on my stomach.
Elenna I'm so sorry to hear about your constipation. It's the worst feeling ever!!!! I've never tried Colace, but drank tons of apple juice full strength and that helped. Along with killer heartburn.
I'm so glad today is Friday. Work has been super busy and I can't get my brain wrapped around anything. I'm also having lots of BH contractions today and a bit out of sorts. The hootchie magoochie pain is better, but the joint pain in my hips is still hanging around. If I could get some quiet time at home, I'd pop in my prenatal Yoga DVD and do some light stretching. That may help everything.
Last night I had one of those mashed potatoe bowls from KFC....OMG. Either I was really hungry or it was just really, really good. DD and I almost cleaned out a whole family sized tub of cole slaw as well. DH almost choked on his taco because DD and I were fighting over the container. She finally took it away from me, put the lid on and put it in the fridge. Guess she was wanting some for today. I told DH to make sure there were a few bites left for me or he was going out to buy more.

I'm another who was pretty upset by the Grey's episode last night. I was sobbing through part of it, but had to fast forward through the delivery scene. I could not watch it! Thank goodness for DVR..and for having a Dr appt this morning. It was nice to hear the heartbeat going strong.
princesscj, I'm jealous that you are in TX and have the opportunity to eat chicken fried chicken. It makes me want a really good chicken fried steak, which we do not have here in OH!
elenna, I'm sorry to hear you were hit with a bout of constipation. Not fun! But yeah for getting your crib and changing table!!
Thankfully, I have not been hit with the horrible labor stories. I do however tend to change the subject or answer in a non-descript sort of way when people talk about epidurals. I'm all about people making their own choices and I just wish people would accept mine for what they are..my opinion, my choice :)
I'm right there with all of you having sleeping problems. I've found that putting a pillow between my legs is helping, but I still toss and turn a lot!
Updates: Next OB appt Dec 11
I'll be up for the shower but will send a PM. Either $10 or $15 works for me.
And DH and I have both aged recently...he's 32 and I'm 31 now

Updated to here. Mommy ID update has been sent. The items listed on the first page were included in the update. If something was missed, please repost it so it can be included in the next update.
Due Date Buddies
I'd like to get everyone's opinion on how they want to do this. We can either:
1) assign buddies and then when you go into labor, contact your buddy (email or however the two of you have it worked out before hand) or contact them once your little one arrives. They post in the thread so everyone else knows that a new baby is on the way or has arrived.
2) you can pick your buddy from a group member or another CC member (or family member) and update us the same way as above.
3) or other suggestions.
If you'd rather not be included please let us know so your name can be taken off the list. It's fine if you don't want to be a part. No hurt feelings either way. Just trying to decide the best way to do it. (We did it by assigning buddies in my previous due date group but I know some of the newer groups are letting the members choose who updates the group.

elenna: Sorry about the constipation! I so know how bad it gets. I was there, just last week, so painful. Glad you're feeling better. And congrats on the arrival of baby Lee's furniture! Very exciting! :)
Grey's: Started watching it, but dh switched it. He KNOWS how neurotic I am. ;)
due date buddies: I game for whatever. If they're assigned in this thread, fine by me, if not, I can have one of my girls from the may/june05 thread do it too. Just let me know what we figure out. :)
I'm watching Oprah right now, also an episode we should not be watching. Waiting for Landon to wake up from his nap....

Elenna: Glad to hear that you're feeling better. Funny enough, I had a similar episode on thurs night. I was sure I was going into early labor. Scary.
Due Date Buddies: I think just assigning someone is fine. Less fuss that way.
Sleeping: This has definitly become an issue. Between my DH's snoring and my inability to get comfortable, I'm beginning to wonder how I'm ever going to make it through labor if I'm this tired to start with.

sleeping I told the doc about my lack of sleep. She told me try one benedryl, if that doesn't work then two and if two didn't work then she would prescribe me something. So far one is doing the trick and I take it about 2-3x a week to try and catch up on my sleep deprivation!!!!!

sleeping: I sleep pretty good some nights, and others are a disaster. I'm up and down all night, every night going pee, but sometimes, I just can't get comfy. I'm used to the lack of sleep though, as you will all be used to very soon. ;) Landon only started sleeping through the night at 8 mos. old! :) And there's still those nights when he doesn't!
We ordered Reece's furniture yesterday. I was shocked when she said it would be here in 7-14 days. Wasn't really expecting that. It'll just have to sit in the boxes in his room until after our muralist is done w/ the painting in late December. Oh well, at least I know it'll be here. :)
Quiet weekend, and very much enjoying it. :) Dh and Landon are outside playing right now, so I thought I'd catch up on emails and stuff.

Hope everyone had a great weekend!
sleeping - [knock on wood] So far, I haven't had too much difficulty with sleeping. I have noticed it is getting a little bit harder to turn over, but haven't had the middle of the night bathroom trips yet.
BIL got married this weekend and we had a great time! I really like the dress I bought from babystyle at the suggestion of some LJ buddies, that I think I might wear it for Christmas and New Year's.
Yesterday we went furniture shopping for new family room and living room furniture, so we spent all afternoon doing that. Luckily, we found furniture we agreed on and it should be delivered by the end of the year. Now I just need to get in gear and start working on DS #1 bedroom so I can get him moved over so I'll have the nursery freed up again for DS #2.

Hi everyone! It's about time I checked in. I haven't posted for over a month but I've been reading along. I was going to check in late last week but I was so bummed out from my 1 hour glucose test results. Here's on update on me:
I had my glucose test last Tuesday. The OB said if I passed they wouldn't call and if I failed, they'd call me the next day. Well, I got a phone call the next day:( . The nurse said she wanted to schedule an appt. for me to see the nurse practitioner so we could discuss a diet plan. I also had to go back for a fasting glucose test, which I did this morning. The whole time I was on the phone, I was thinking that my results must have been bad if they want to begin discussing diet. So I finally asked how high my level was.....  It was so high I'm embarrassed to say.:( Needless to say, they're skipping the 3-hour GTT and I'll be on a diabetic diet. On the bright side, my DH said he'd do the diet with me so it won't be so hard on me. :) Figures this had to happen before Thanksgiving and Christmas!
So my next appointment with the NP is 11/20 to discuss diet. My next OB appointment is 12/4.
I don't have any personal pictures uploaded yet so I'll do that another time. I love everyone's pics so far. Keep them coming!
Sleeping - I've been feeling uncomfortable as well. I wake up a lot to change positions. My back has been hurting lately because of it.
Due Date Buddies - I'm up for assigning partners.
Grey's - Fortunately, I don't watch the show and I don't need to know what happened.
Elenna - Sorry about the constipation. Glad you're feeling better though.
ejs - Congrats on passing the GTT! I wish I at least had the opportunity to take a 3-hour.
horror stories - I actually don't mind any kind of stories, good or bad, because I'd like to know what the worst case scenario could be. That way, I'll only be surprised if delivery happens relatively easier than I expected.
nursery/shopping - I haven't done anything. We're turning our current office into the nursery and moving the office into one of our guest rooms. DH is really procrastinating on clearing out his stuff. My sister is always offering her and her family's help but there's nothing to do until DH gets going. How annoying. I don't see this nursery being complete by the new year. I really want to start ordering furniture but everyone keeps telling me that they want to help me with purchasing this stuff. I've been putting it off because I want to know what they're willing to help me with but I don't want to run out of time either. I really hate asking for things too so I feel funny bringing it up. That reminds me, I still need to register too.
I had a couple family functions this weekend. Now because they are relatives, I don't mind them touching or rubbing my belly. It's just the frequency at which they do it. I could swear my niece stared at my belly for an hour and all the while tickled it with her finger every 2 minutes. I finally had to tell her to quit. I'm annoyed just thinking about it.
baby shower - I'm still interested in joining. I'm send a PM. $10-$15 is okay with me. I'm fine if it's more to factor in the shipping.

Im up for just assigning buddies also.
I had my regular OB appt today with the new practice I switched too and liked them quite a bit. Im measuring 31 weeks though??!!! The doctor didnt seem too concerned about it though. Anyone else measure bigger?
Everything else was fine though and very routine. I do my glucose test next appointment.
My next appt is December 5th

babae- Sorry to hear you have to go on the d-diet. But, on the bright side since you'll be in the habbit of eating healthy it might easier to lose the pregnancy weight =) and the healthy eating habbits are really good for the baby!
I'm a little nervous about my glucose testing on Wednesday. Fingers crossed (as I eat a slice of cake) my levels are okay!
Due date Buddy- My friend and fellow CC'er, Caliope muses, will let you all know when Cole arrives.

CB Class - Had our first class tonight and we met another young couple who is naming their daughter Riley Madison  I was floored when I heard the name and now want to ask how they picked it (for those who don't remember we have picked Madison Riley). Plus they drive the same make, model, and color car I do!! I'm totally weirded out
This totally reminded me of something...
When I met DH he was friends with this guy Tuan and they were in engineering school together. So they went to the same school for the same degree....then they got their first job at the same place (without even keeping in touch after graduation)....then Jay and I originally were going to get married on August 10th...Jay found out at work Tuan was getting married the same day too....then because of reception venue issues we had to move the date a week to the 17th of August....Well come to find out we sent Tuan an invitation and they ended up having to move their wedding to the same day also....meanwhile Jay and I are trying to get pg with our first one...we had the boys name of Nathan Kent picked out since we were dating I think....Well come to find out Tuan and his wife (Phoung) are pregnant and just had their baby that they named Nathan Ken!!!!!! Then Jay starts his masters degree and who is in his first class but TUAN!!!!
It was all just so weird!!! Where does Tuan and Phoung come up with Nathan Ken?? The middle name wasnt exactly the same but still very close!!! They really never kept in touch either so that just made it all more strange!!
babae, did you ask if you can take the 3-hour test? I had a long talk with my OB about it and my DH did a lot of research on the GTT. What we learned is that the 1-hour is just a screening test. Many, many people who fail the 1-hour go on to pass the 3-hour. You get much more accurate results from the 3-hour, but OBs know that it's not practical time-wise and finance-wise to give every pregnant woman the 3-hour test. My plan was to go straight to the diet if I failed the 1-hour, but my OB and our research convinced me that taking the 3-hour was the right thing to do.
aug2002bride, my baby has been measuring large since my first external u/s (17 or 18 weeks). Everything is in proportion, though, so my dr isn't that concerned at this point. We'll be having another u/s soon to check measurements again.
Due date buddies, I'm not sure if I need one because our hospital has wireless so we should be able to post an update.
Sleeping: I've always been an insomniac. I had Rx sleeping pills before I got pregnant. Now I'm getting up every two hours to pee. The hardest part is the pain in my hips. Both of them get so sore while sleeping! I usually end up grabbing an ice bag at some point during the night.
Nursery prep: We're slowly making progress. My FIL is coming out early Dec so he and DH can install lighting and paint. I think we're done clothes shopping. We just need little things like some more socks. I have to say that I'm frustrated that the majority of the boy stuff is blue. I love blue, but would like some variety! Our furniture should arrive at the end of the year. Yesterday, we bought and put together the bouncer and swing. We have the stroller, car seat, and bases.
I hope everyone is doing well!

Elenna - I am sorry to hear about your constipation. I suffered from that so badly in the 1st trimester that I just started adding a colace to my daily PNV ritual and never stopped it.
DPAngel - That's so weird about your "twin" couple! And I can't believe you're already taking CB Classes... are we really that close?? omg!
Aug2002Bride - I love the name Nathan. :) If it wasn't already 'taken' by B's best friend's kid, it'd definitely be on our short list.
babae07 - I'm sorry to hear about your GTT! My glucose test isn't until Dec 2, but I have a sneaking suspicion I'll be on the diet with you.
Sleeping: I'm up every 1.5 hours or so. I usually use the bathroom, and sometimes I flip the snoogle over and sometimes I just lay down on the opposite side the next time with the snoogle at my back. I will say however that Napping has not been a problem whatsoever! :p I'm a champion napper. It doesn't matter what's going on around me, I can nap like nobody's business. Friday, our contractor was upstairs hammering and sawing on the bedroom right above our room. I laid down for a 3-hour (oops) nap without a problem. Incredible.
Names - We have our short-list of 3 girls' names and 3 boys' names and I like 'em all. I'm so glad it is done! :D
Due Date Buddies - I'll have B update for me. Our hospital also has Wireless.
EJS - Do you have a Snoogle? I swear that thing is saving my hips. And my back. And my whoooole body. I *heart* my Snoogle.

aug2002bride My OB told me at my last appt. that I was measuring bigger. He didn't tell me how much bigger. My guess is the baby was either laying a certain way or all of our boys are destined to be large and in charge!!! I can say that when this child moves, I feel it on both sides of my stomach. And about your DH's friend, Tuan, that is way to creepy.
sleeping Since DD was born, I've been a poor sleeper. And I'm devastated by that. Weekends, sleeping in means anything after 7am and waking up on my own (Saturday it was 5:45am  ). I've caught on that if I don't drink anything substantial after 8pm, I can sleep the whole night without a pee-pee break. However, if that happens, I can't get out of bed because my back hurts so bad and I'm stiff. And regardless of how much/little sleep I get, I'm not much in the way of sleep-deprived. When DD was born, I was all set to never sleep. I found I was OK with the amount I was getting. I think it's because my body is idle most of the day from sitting at my desk and I get an hour on the train home to relax my brain with a book or train-friend conversation.
nursery We've started. Or rather DH has started. I've even got him convinced that if giving away the furniture is the only way we are getting it out of the house, we are doing it!!! He did say that the sleeper sofa was going in the basement if my friend didn't buy it. I sure hope she doesn't. But I don't think it's going to fit through the doorway. Whatever. And the tall dresser (his grandmother's and part of a set) will go to my sister if she can get it in her van next week (I'll make the damned thing fit!).
Toddler transitioning Another RO's working on transitioning their toddlers to big kid beds or potty training? My parent's are bringing my nephews beautiful sleigh toddler bed next week so we can work on getting DD out of the crib. I can't justify keeping her in the crib much longer as she's almost 3. And potty training.....maybe when I'm on maternity leave.

PrincessCJ81 - That's what I keep telling myself too. I hope it makes for easier weight loss afterwards. Also, whatever is good for the baby, I'll go for it.
ejs - I'll ask about the 3 hour when I go in next week. I know my OBs practice is strict on certain things and I was thinking this was one of them. I'll see what I can find out.
janey - It's always great to have a diet buddy but I would never wish that on you. Hoping you get good results!

Regarding the due date buddies, I see that some of you have said that you already have people. If we assign buddies everyone will have a buddy. That way everyone has someone and no one is left out. I wanted it to be a group decision, not that some were doing it this way and others were doing it that way. I wanted to know your input on whether buddies or to go with a friend/journal buddy/or whatever.
Those whom we haven't heard from in a while won't be assigned a buddy. Why assign them a buddy if they haven't posted up until now. Those members are listed on page 1 of the thread. So if anyone knows them please have them contact us or give us an update on them.
Sorry if that offends anyone but it's easier to just have everyone do it one way or the other. Otherwise someone is bound to be left out (wanted a buddy but didn't have anyone to update) and that just isn't fair. Hope everyone understands.
I'll hopefully get to the updates (aug2002 and babae07 and those whom have sent a PM about the shower) by tomorrow. If you know someone who is a group member and wants to be a part of the shower please have them send a PM.
Thanks.

sleeping: I hear y'all on the sleeping issues. I wake up every time I have to switch sides. And my hips aren't letting me sleep in much on the days I can. It seems the longer I lay in bed (no matter how many times I switch sides) the more my hips start hurting. And I'm up at 4:30am this morning because I woke up and just couldn't get back to sleep. YAWN...
due date buddies: I'm for assigning due date buddies.
MrsSki: Too funny about your DD taking the cole slaw from you to save for later. Hope you're feeling better.
rancherswife: Was that Oprah the survival episode? That episode scared me. It is so cool we're all to that phase where we're receiving/ordering nursery furniture.
ladybug: Sorry you experienced something like that, too. It sure isn't fun.
babae: I'm sorry you failed your 1h-GTT and that you're having to switch to a diabetic diet. It is true the diet will help you lose weight. A friend of mine was borderline diabetic and had to follow a diabetic diet. She lost a lot of weight just from that. I agree with you that hearing the horror stories will at least make you aware of any potential problems and maybe expect the worse. To get your DH to empty out the office/nursery I suggest going ahead and ordering the nursery furniture. Ever since Friday when our furniture was delivered DH really picked up the pace of emptying out our office/nursery. The room is now empty for painting this weekend.
aug2002bride: Wow, 31 weeks! Sorry I don't have any advice for measuring big. That is just way too weird about your DH's college friend.
janey: I've now added Colace to my prenatal regiment every day, too.
Not much to report. I, luckily, haven't had any more days like last Thursday.
Our childbirth class is going good. DH says he's enjoying it. Last week we watched a video of an unmedicated birth and it wasn't scary at all. Tomorrow we're watching a medicated birth.
Getting the nursery furniture in really motivated DH to finally get the office/nursery cleaned out. He'd been working on cleaning out that room for at least a month now and not making much progress. The room is now empty and ready for painting!! We'll paint it this weekend.

transitioning a toddler We worked on potty training this summer and are transitioning our son into a twin from his toddler bed for Christmas. I've read to do major changes 2 to 3 months before or after baby comes so that the kids don't associate the changes with the baby and therefore resent the baby. So we decided to do it quickly and sooner rather than later. It worked for us, but doesn't for everyone. Both transitions were rough the first few days, but not too bad overall.
due date buddies What ever works for me. :)
sleeping I am doing okay most days, but am sore in the mornings. Mostly my hips from laying on my side. I do the pillow thing, but it doesn't seem to be helping much so far. And I can't wait to sleep on my tummy again...I dream about it, I miss it so much! It was the only thing that made staying in the hospital when DS was born worth it-I could finally sleep on my tummy again!
babae Oh no! I hope the diet works for you. I don't know when my test is (will find out next week) but I'm scared to death...

babae07 - So sorry to hear you have to go on the diet. Hopefully it won't be bad or much change for you.
Aug2002 - Wow, 6 weeks bigger. Did the doctor say when he/she wasn't concerned....position of baby, extra fluid??
PrincessCJ81 - Good luck with your test!
ejs - Congrats on having most of the clothes shopping done. I hear you about boy clothes being all blue and they are either trucks or dinosauers. I occassionally get girl envy when I see all the cute little girl clothes out there!
Janey - I'm so with you on loving my naps!!! They are the best!
MrsSki - We are going to try and transition DS to a toddler bed in early January. I would have liked to have started sooner, but DH wants to build one instead of having me buy one. I gave him until Christmas break to get one built or I'm going to go buy one.
Elenna - Sounds like you and DH are making some serious progress on the room!

Hey moms-
DH seems to think that all these transitions before the new baby will be taken well by DD. I so think not. She's a total diva and can be rather obstinate and obnoxious about things. Of course, he'll be hiding in the basement or feigning sleep when this is all at it's worst. Typical male.
So we've decided to use Menard's for all of the kitchen remodeling materials. They were, by far, the cheapest with comparable quality. BUT we are back to square one on the kitchen floor. We had laminate, which we didn't like, and decided on hardwood. We found one we like in our price range, however, the sale ends Saturday. Last night, we talked in depth about tile. SO, we are going to look at tile this weekend and put the hardwood on the back burner. DH got ticked when I was making decisions about spending HIS money (he is the one that is paying for this whole project) but then gets ticked when I tell him to do whatever he wants, it's his money. I tell ya. Can't live with them, can't live without them.
Anyone else excited about the holidays coming up? I can't wait for next week to get here!!!! My family is coming to stay for a few days, we are going to the circus and I get to put up my Christmas stuff!!! This is my favorite time of year. Plus I've got tons of baking I want to do before next Wednesday and a freezer to defrost. Makes being at work a bit hard.

I wrote a nice long post with SO's yesterday, but of course, I tried to post it and the site locked up and it was lost. So sad. So I will try again.
Babae- So sorry about the GTT test. You will have to let us know what the diet recommends. I am sure I could benefit regardless of my sugar levels!
Due Date Buddies- Assigning them works for me!
Sleeping- I wake up about 4:30 pretty regularly, but I don't seem to be more tired during the day. I guess I am getting all the sleep I need right now- or maybe my body is slowing getting ready for the arrival of the little one!
Aug2002bride- Yeah, I don't know about measuring that big, but remember, everyone is so different. What measurements suggested you were that far along? There are so many factors that can determine it and if your dr. isn't worried, I wouldn't be!
Lady1297- I am so with you on the tummy sleep. I can kind of satisfy myself by putting pillows between my knees and laying on my side over a pillow. My baby belly fits inbetween the pillow and the bed and I kind of feel like I am on my stomach, but then my arm is at a strange angle- so I can't stay that way. I long for the days on my tummy...
Elenna- I sure wished that trick worked for me- we have had the crib for months and it is still sitting in our dining room! MIL and FIL were here this weekend so MIL and I worked on clearing out the nursery and then when we got home from glider shopping, DH and FIL had moved out the dreaded bunkbeds and loaded them into FIL's truck to take to dh's cousin! I guess I got him to do it finally, but the crib was not what spurred him. I think it was the thought of his pregnant wife moving books and furniture that got him going! (not to worry, nothing even close to 40 pounds)
JenJen- Your DH sounds like mine. Always wanting to make something that would probably be cheaper and easier to buy- but he insists on doing it himself. They just end of making more work for themselves!
MrsSki- I hear you on the woes of home repair. DH and I get into similar discussions. It was his house before we were married and HIS pet project, but now I have come along and changed things that he was going to do HIS way. Most of the time he is cool with it, but sometimes the inner two year old comes out and he wants to do it HIS way or he throws a temper tantrum (okay, maybe not that bad, but it seems like it) so then I say "fine, whatever you want. I don't care" then of course he is pissed. You can't please them I tell you. You just can't! But we love them anyway, right?
Constipation- I have noticed it is a bit worse with the addition of the iron supplements. Add me to the list of daily stool softener takers!
Naps- For some reason they frown on taking naps at my desk in my office... I just don't know why:) I wish I could nap, but there is just too much to be done on weekends. I would never fall asleep because I would be feeling so guilty about the wallpaper I could be stripping or the things I should be sewing to get ready for baby! I am sure I will start napping like a champ when the baby arrives. You sleep when they sleep right? :)
Holidays- totally excited. We leave for Seattle next Wednesday and I can't wait to see my sister, parents, nephews and the rest of the huge family clan! It is going to be so much fun. There are three of us that are pregnant (myself, a cousin and another cousins's wife) and we are all due within two weeks of each other. Too much fun! One is having a girl and the other is having a boy. I am the tie breaker!

Big Bed We moved ds a while ago and I am so happy we did. We only had one sorta rough night the first one and that was because we had just gotten back from Texas so we were dealing with the time change and ds had been waking at 4 for a while because he loved to sleep sideways in his crib, but couldn't get comfy. If you really need to move them go ahead and do it. Ds even sleeps in some days past 7. Everything I had read told me that you shouldn't do it before two, but since ds got out so easy we had no choice. I am so happy about it.

My DS is engrossed in something on the Disney channel so I have a few moments for some shout-outs, finally!!!!!!
babae07 Sorry to hear that you have to do the diet. From my friends that have gone through this, it really isn't that bad and you'll get the hang of it. I've also heard that there is some room to eat "bad stuff" once in a while, you just learn what you have to eat with it to make it not so bad in your system.
Aug2002 I am measuring 11 days ahead when the Peri. did the babes measurements via sonogram. They have moved my due date from 2/25 to 2/14, which I find interesting because my DS measured big my whole pregnancy and they never changed my due date. I am going again this afternoonto the Peri. to see my butterball and am curious if that has changed at all.
transitioning a toddler My DS has been in his "big boy bed" since he turned two and we had no problems with that transition at all. It is the potty that is giving me a headache. He goes in it every once in a while but has not been consistent and shows no interest at all :(
Mrs.Ski I LOVE Christmas and can't wait to decorate. Don't think I'll make any cookies because I will probably eat them all ... will stick to my chocolate :)
Hope everyone is enjoying your childbirth classes, can't believe that some are in the 3rd trimester already, this pregnancy is going so fast and with the holidays approaching will go even faster.

Elenna - Your idea for cleaning out the office might work. I remember mentioning to DH that I wanted to buy the furniture a while ago but he didn't want to yet because there was no where to put it. Getting the furniture probably would force him to do something about it. Hmmm..;)
lady1297 - I hope I didn't freak you out about the test. My co-worker is taking her test today and I think I made her nervous because the possibility actually hit close to home for her. Hoping you have better luck when you take yours.
jenjen0713 - I think having no sweets will hit me the hardest but I see this as a kick in the pants. I know I've been eating a lot of junk since pg but didn't have the motivation to fix it. It'll probably be easier for me to follow a diet now that I have to do it.
bombera77 - I'll be sure to share what I learn. Congrats on finally getting those bunkbeds out. :)
stars - I'm really starting to get used to the idea of a diet. I also heard the people do cheat every now and then but I probably wouldn't do that in the beginning at least.

Holidays- I am so excited for the holidays, I was singing Christmas Carols all day yesterday!!! This will be my first Christmas as a married woman and my first Christmas in our house!! DH was laughing at my December budget because I figured in money for X-mas decorations =) I am a little sad it won't be a white Christmas (I'm in Dallas), but it will still be great!~
Baking- I have become Martha Stewart (minus the embezzlement issues) since being pregnant. I bake cookies, cupcakes, bread and cake all the time. What's funny is I'm not craving the food itself, I'm craving the preperation of the food. Strange?!?!
Sleeping- We bought a new mattress on Sunday and I'm hoping it will help me sleep a little better. We are having it delivered when we move in and I am so excited!
More SO's later! Gotta get back to work.

No time to catch up on individual shout-outs, but I am feeling for those of you who are starting the diets right at the holiday. Know that all of us are your biggest cheerleaders!!
Holidays - I am very much looking forward to them. I love Christmas and everything associated with it :) As of now, I am still planning my annual Christmas party, so there will definitely be baking going on in my kitchen.

Ok...this thread is either totally dead for a couple of days, or it's boomin', all at once, I can't keep up! ;)
aug2002: WOW! That is a big difference in due dates. It could be that you're at a new OB and they may measure differently than your old one did. Those measurements aren't too precise, from what I've read, anyhow. It was just w/ the tape measure, right? I wouldn't worry, esp. if your OB wasn't worried.
babae: So sorry to hear about the diabetic diet! No fun, and right around the holidays! Hang in there! :)
elenna: Yes, it was the suvival stories on Oprah that I was watching last week. When I was pg w/ Landon and my cousin was pg w/ her dd, at the same time, I had this horrible dream that someone broke into her house and tried to kidnap her and do the same thing to her! Strange! The funny part about the dream, was that, I tackeled the man that was trying to take her and together we sat on him (we were both in our 3rd trimester) and w/ both of our pg butts sitting on him, we held him down until the cops came!lol Wierd dreams when pg!
threadmistress: assigning due date buddies is totally fine by me.
holidays: I LOVE the holidays. I can't wait to get our tree and decorate the house, it's about a three day process for me, from start to finish. I'm very picky about where everything goes. ;) I think Landon will be so much fun this year, he was fun last year at only 6 mos. old, I can only imagine what this year is going to be like. I'm a little concerned about the tree, but I think after it's been in the house for a couple of days, he'll be used to it and hopefully leave it alone! ;)
As far as baking, I like to bake, when I have time. Which is almost never these days. It's really hard just to get dinner on the table everynight while dh and I tend to Landon, let alone try to bake something!
I have not even started my x-mas shopping, I never do though, until the day after Thanksgiving. It's tradition for me and my girl cousins to go out at the butt crack of dawn (litterally) on black friday and start our shopping, we do it more for the tradition than the actual shopping, though this year, I am planning on knocking out a lot of my shopping that day, I really don't want to be out and about w/ Landon fighting the crowds at 30+ weeks pg! ;)

Gosh this thread is moving fast. And here I thought I would be able to keep up a little better. It's hard to believe that our little ones will be here so soon!! We finally sat down and wrote out the weekly milestones on our calendar and that's when it hit me that 37 weeks (full term for twins) is January 29th for me!!! I stop work on the 27th. Yea!!
One bad thing, I failed my 1 hour glucose test. I take the three hour one and have my next ultrasound on Monday the 20th.

(((isobel)) sorry about the GTT. And yikes, 37 weeks will be here before you know it!
stars- hey, we now have the same Valentine due date!
babae- sorry to hear about the diabetic diet, but like someone else said, healthy eating habits are always a good thing. (Well, maybe a bit tougher during the holidays).
Threadmistress assigning buddies is fine with me.
Sleeping- I am doing ok, but just am getting HORRIBLE leg cramps that wake me up.
Nursery prep- I am probably entirely crazy, but we've decided to do some extensive remodeling on the house, including the room that will be the nursery. We meet with the contractor Friday. The furniture should be in by mid-January, let's hope the room is ready! I am not sure if I will have Christmas decorations out this year- depends what state the house is in.
me- I have the GTT tomorrow- totally and completely dreading it!

CAN'T SLEEP......I had my 3 GTT yesterday... let me tell you.. that's so hard to get through but thankfully Eric was there to help me. I should find out the results here shortly. The pokes weren't as bad this time, however I had such a hard time keeping that stuff down. So weekend recap.. This was the best weekend... My SIL, surprised me with a baby shower from my "Mommies" group.. it was so much fun. So she told me to be ready at 6:30 on Friday... well she called at 6:30p, to say her husband was late and still at work and was really sorry but she needed to reschedule. I felt bad for her, becasue she w
