View Full Version : Babysense infant movement monitor
Has anyone used a Babysense movement monitor? I'm about to be a first-time mom and am willing to admit I'm anxious and nervous about it.

Have you used one? Heard anything about them?
Thanks!

One of my former co-workers said that he & his wife used it for their baby and they loved it. It gave them peace of mind.
I, OTOH, decided to stay awake for 3 months watching DD breathe. :)

Is it going to drive you crazy if you get a lot of false alarms?
We talked briefly about doing something like that when my daughter came home from the NICU. In the end, I'm glad we didn't...I think it would have caused me more anxiety. But everyone's different.

Yeah, I think it would have made me more stressed than peace of mind.
That said, our old monitor broke so we bought a new one. (Mostly for babysitters). We decided to get a video monitor. So far it is great. I think I would have really liked it when DS was very small, and then again when he first started pulling up in the crib.

We don't have that one, but we have the AngelCare. I believe there are a couple threads about that monitor if you do a search. Love it! Probably one of the best items we bought. We did get a few false alarms, but not enough to say it wasn't worth it. Only when he became mobile did we have to disconnect the movement sensor because it was going off constantly, waking him and us up.

It looks very similar to the Angelcare monitor, which is the one that we have.

One of my top 3 best baby purchases. Thanks to it, I was able to sleep the first couple weeks (months?) when we brought DD home.
We used it until DD was 9 months old and got only 2 or 3 false alarms during all that time.

I also had an Angelcare monitor and felt it was worth every penny. Interestingly enough when we brought DS2 home it kept false alarming the first night because he didn't weigh enough I don't think. So I shut it off. And never turned it back on. DH teased me about how I loved it with DS1 but didn't use it with DS2. I'm not sure why I never turned it back on with DS2. Probably because he slept so poorly and woke me up every 1-2 hours to eat I figured he wasn't go to stop breathing--DS1 slept longer stretches.
