Who we are:

We are a group of women who for 1 reason or another want to shed a few (or more) lbs. We need the encouragement of others no matter their size or goal and we thrive in an atmosphere where we can all support one another.

Want to join the fun?!?

We welcome one and all. It doesn’t matter what diet you are on (if any) or how many miles a week you run (if any) we will all find lots of help and support here.

Feel free to join at any time during the challenge.
It’s better to join NOW than to wait until we start a new challenge!:D

You don’t have to read the whole thread to join. Feel free to just jump in on the last page and post a reply with the following information. None of this info is a must but it helps to learn a little bit about each other.

For this challenge, since it's a bit shorter, I'm going to change my challenge weight loss goal to 6 pounds. Although I'd love to lose 8-10 in a month's time, I don't want to set the bar TOO high. :)

I'm planning on joining the Y this week with my mom and actually exercising since I lost over 8lbs last challenge just with diet changes, here's hoping I can manage to meet my goal for this challenge with exercise added in.

Thanks for adding my info. I thought that this would be eight weeks, but now that it looks like four weeks, I think that maybe I should change my challenge goal to 5 pounds.

Sadly, I'm gonna have to update my starting weight back to what it was in the very beginning:

Oh well, not too big of a deal. I'm going to start going to the gym w/a friend 3 days a week, so I'm hoping that'll help motivate me to eat healthier too.

I really didn't gain 8# since the last challenge, but I now weigh in on Monday nights at my TOPS group. It is with clothes and after supper. So, I will just start at that. (I used to weigh-in in the morning sans clothes and food in the belly)

I'm excited for this new challenge since I started Weight Watchers on 10/16/06. My current weight is 124.5. My weight loss goal for this challenge will be 8 lbs. I'm just hoping I didn't do too much damage with all the Halloween candy I've eaten this week. :o

No official weigh-in for me until Sunday, but I was OUT OF CONTROL today and I am hoping that I didn't just totally screw myself.

Sorry you're frustrated, MLA. I hit a plateau in the spring and it was not fun. I got so discouraged that I allowed myself to quit, which was stupid. I know you can break through the plateau; just have patience with your body.

This has not been a good week for me at all.

Monday was normal.
Tuesday & Wednesday, I spent a good chunk of the day puking, so I ate just whatever would stay down, which ended up being ice cream and cream soda. :rolleyes:
Thursday (today) I was just so happy to be able to eat again that I didn't pay much attention as to what was going into my mouth.

All this to say that I'm logging a big fat SKIP for week 2!!!

Hopefully next week, I'll be able to get my butt back in gear! *crossing fingers*

How annoying...my scale this morning said 149, but the one at my Weight Watchers meeting said 155! I think DH was fooling with the calibration on my scale again. It would have been NICE to have lost over 7 pounds in one week, but I guess I knew it was too good to be true!

I'm kind of surprised by that because I was out of control one day this week and ate a ton of cheese, crackers, and fruit. But otherwise, I was on-plan all week, did my cardio, drank my water, etc. Again, I didn't do my ab exercise. :o I really, really have to get on that. I created a fitness program for girls at the school where I teach, and that starts this week, so my focus area will be abs, I think, so that I have to do that. :p

I'm also super-excited to see 140s on the scale (even if it is 149.2); I haven't seen that number on the scale in about three years. Once I hit 145, I'll no longer be in the "overweight" category according to the BMI. Being so close to that is giving me the push to meet that short-term goal. After that, I'll try for 135, and then maybe 125 depending how I look.

jenji Maybe you are actually losing fat but gaining muscle. How are your clothes fitting? I know that has happened to me in the past (I knew because my body fat percentage went down but my weight either went up or stayed the same). Stick with it; your body will adjust.

Hello, all! I just started a new job and moved into our first house, so it's time for me to get my weight back under control. All of my clothes are too tight, and I can't take it anymore. My husband is in the same boat, so we're doing it together (he has already lost six pounds!)

Hi ladies!

Over the past few months I've gained some weight and I need to do something about it.....other than moan and complain. I've always battled with weight, but over the past 5 or 6 years I've remained pretty steadily between 118-125 (except when I was pregnant when I jumped to 174 pounds from 133 pounds!). Even after the baby, the weight seemed to fall right off. But, now, I've started nursing school and I am taking the pre-reqa which means less time moving and more time sitting still to study. I also tend to eat when I am stressed and there's a lot of stress involved with my classes. And, with the holidays here I don't want to gain anymore - my clothes are already tight enough!

It will be good to spend the next few months with all of you! :)
