What does you DC wear to bed? How does it change as the seasons change? And what brand of pajamas or sleepwear do you like best? Does your DC wear footed pajamas, fleece pajamas, etc?
I went by Children's Place today and noticed that their sleepwear is on sale. I know that pajamas are supposed to run small so they will be safe and tightly fitted. I'm wondering which size I should get for my DS. He's almost 11 months. His weight is around 20 pounds and he's at least 30 inches. I was hesitant to buy the footed sleepers b/c I was afraid that he may be too long for the 6-12 months size but way too short for the 12-18 months size. Any opinions?
PS- I thought there was a thread on this, but I searched for several different terms and came up with nothing.

Now my kid is wearing a footie blanket sleeper to bed, in the summer months she wears old navy pjs...those are fairly thin. In the winter I"ll be adding a sleepsack.

In the summer, Zach was wearing short sleeves/pants pj sets - Carter's and Old Navy. Tonight is the first night we're trying a footed blanket sleeper. He tends to be hot-natured (like his father), so I'm afraid he will wake up hot. He ALWAYS sleeps with the fan on in his room, too... we'll see!

DD is wearing these (http://www.kohls.com/products/product_page_vanilla2.jsp?PRODUCT%3C%3Eprd_id=3916 10783&FOLDER%3C%3Efolder_id=65005029&bmUID=1162077815244) footed fleece PJs now. I also just bought her a pair of the fleece ones from Children's Place. We co-sleep, so that's the heaviest thing we'll put her in. If she gets cold she just cuddles up next to one of us.
Regarding size... I usually buy PJs a little on the larger side. This year was different though b/c she's 2 and the only sizes they have are 2T or 3T, so I bought her exact size rather than going the next size up. She would've been swimming in the 3T.
In the Fall/Spring she wears footed cotton PJs. In the summer she wears short sleeved, shorts PJs or a onesie.
Now that is has been getting colder here I have been putting more layers on Oliver. We keep our heat about 65 at night so I am always worred he will be cold. On colder nights he will wear a onsie and a fleece zip up sleeper, I like the Carter ones. If it isn't as cold he wear a cotton zip up sleeper and a cotton sleep sack. I have all footed pajamas and I like the zip up ones the best because they are the quickest way to get him dressed. He is outgrowing his sleepsacks and I am not sure if I am going to get him anymore.
I do have a couple of pairs of Children's Place zip up ones (cotton). I do like them and Oliver has them in 12-18 month. They are a little big on him. They are long, it isn't a problem when he is sleeping, but in the mornings when he is practicing walking I have to keep pulling the legs up. I know Nathan is a little smaller than Oliver (was 22lbs and almost 30in in September), but he may outgrow the 6-12 in only a month or so. The Carter's brand has 12 and 18 month. The 12 month (up to 24lbs) fit Oliver perfectly and 18 months fit like the CP ones.

I just got DS two footed fleece sleepers from Target today, the kind with the treads on the feet (*sniff!* My boy is growing up!)
He's got a few other fleecy ones from Carters that my mom got him too - we just switched over to the fleece ones tonight. He's been wearing the cotton zipups/buttonups for months now. I thought about going back to the sleep sacks, but they were a pain to try and keep on him seeing as though he's pretty mobile now. He'd get frustrated w/ trying to crawl/walk in one if we didn't wait and put it on right as he was being put in the crib.

DD usually starts in her sleepers with them being a little too big so that there is room to grow. Right now she is about 20 lbs and 30 inches and is in 18-24 months from CP. The cotton ones, which I prefer, room pretty small but stretch a little so they can be snug. In the fleece sleepers, she is a 12-18 at best. The 18 to 24 I have on her are HUGE.
While I love the Gap jammies because they are so cute, I normally keep DD in handmade pants/undershirts in the warmer weather (over 60 degrees), and CP footed jammies in the colder weather (below 60 degrees). I do have some flannel bottoms for her that she can sleep in with a tighter turtleneck and socks. We keep our house around 68 to 70 degrees at night.
Overall reviews for winter jammies...
Gap - Great 2 piece sets. They stretch really well so they will fit snug for a while, just like they should. Easy for diaper changes. Need to keep the house a little warmer at night (i.e., 70+). Fade over time (washing in cold).
Target - Circo brand makes polyester fleece sleepers. They are great because they do not pill. Tend to run true to size. Wash well and retain color.
Carter's - Fleece jammies did not hold color well in the laundry (like colors, cold water) and started to pill after 1 wash. Not impressed with the quality after the first wear.
Children's Place - Fleece jammies run a little big. they retain their color pretty well and pill only after a few months of regular washing (cold water). No fading. Cotton jammies run true to size/small. They will eventually fade after a few months of regular washing. They stretch to get a good tight fit so there is a lot of room for growth/long wear. You may need to keep your temp a little higher (i.e., 70) as they are not super thick/warm. These are my favorite ones.
Old Navy - Never used. I assume that they are like Gap, their sister store.

My DD is about 22lbs and 30 inches and she fits perfectly..with a little room..into the Childrens Place 18month pjs. I only get her the footed cotton ones..I love them. They are perfect for year round use.
Since it's getting colder here DD (14 months) we like footed Carter's sleepers the best. We also have some random fleece sleepers...not even sure of the brand (MIL gets them at BJs and Costco). Our house is old and cold and so fleece is the name of the game.
During the summer we like carter's two-piece shorts and t-shirt pjs.

Our BRU doesn't carry 12 month footed cotton sleepers. Are they scarce everywhere or just in my town?
So your kiddos don't get all sweaty and hot in those fleece blanket sleepers? DS wear a sleepsack over a long-sleeved onesie usually. I've thought about getting those fleece sleepers, but it just seems like that particular material will make him sweaty. We usually keep our house around 68 degrees at night.
During the summer we like carter's two-piece shorts and t-shirt pjs. I didn't even know that Carter's carries two-piece pajama short sets.
kindermom: I loved how you reviewed all of the brands' pajamas! Thank you!
I think I'll go back to Children's Place tomorrow and pick up some footed zip pajamas in the 12-18 month size. I noticed that they're on sale for 3/$25 right now, plus I have a 15% off coupon that expires tomorrow. Should I get cotton or fleece?

DS wears a fleece shirt, babylegs (www.babylegs.net) and socks to bed. Since we use cloth diapers footed sleepers don't always fit well, and since we cosleep i'm not super concerned about him keeping warm since he has our body heat with him.

Our house is much colder than 68 degrees. :o Drafty old colonial. Her room is the smallest and we chose that b/c it holds the heat better. Fleece works for us during the cold months.
And yep someone gave us the Carter's ones as a gift. 3-piece set.

My favorite jammies are Carter's. I always find them super cheap at Costco. The Circo ones from Target are good, too. You can get a two pack of the blanket type for $7something. We use the blanket type pretty much all year long. If the A/C is not on and it's warm in here, I will put him in the thin two piece Carter's jammies or a thin footed sleeper. I prefer the footed sleepers because Luke's feet generally run cold even with jammies on. He is very tall and has always had huge feet, so I found I had to transition him to 12-18mos jammies before he started wearing 12-18mos clothes. I actually would not be surprised if we needed to move up to 24mos jammies soon even though he is not ready for 24mos clothes just yet. I've never found him to be sweaty. His room does run cold, though. We drop our heat to 67* at night, but the bedrooms are upstairs, so I hope it's warmer up there. I don't know, really. He's been sleeping with a blanket since before he turned one, but doesn't yet know to keep it on him. I've thought about going back to sleep sacks to keep him warm this Winter.
Oh, and Carter's makes those 3 piece sets like Erin posted and they also make a 2 piece set that snaps. I prefer the two piece because of the snaps. I hate it when his shirts ride up on him.
And about the quality of the Carter's jammies... I think they changed the material that they use. Either that or they use different material on the newborn jammies than they do on the infant jammies. I say this because I know a lot if not all of the fleece pajamas we had for him when he was younger got all pilly. I have not had any problems with pills since (probably size 9mos and up-just a guess, though, I can't really remember).

My kid sleeps in Hanna Anderssen Zippers year round. In the summer we run the AC so it is cool, and in the winter it is about the same temp.
The pjs are pricey, but they are soooooo much better than any other kind I've found.
Before we found Hannas we used Carter's or Oakie Doakie (Penny's brand) pj shirts and pants, but the shirts often ride up.
Just wanted to chime in and say we have never had a problem with DS's carters fleece PJs pilling. We use a combo of those and the Target blanket sleepers, but I prefer the target ones. At night the heat in our house goes dowwn to 66, but we keep a space heater in DS's room at 68-70,

Not only do they have 3/$25 and 15% off, but you get a free fleece backpack-like carrier with the purchase of 3. :) I bought one pair for DD and 2 for DS and got the backpack last week.
Should I get cotton or fleece?
We currently keep our house temp at about 62 at night, so I bought the fleece sleepers for DD. DS hasn't been born yet (2 weeks!), but I bought him the fleece ones, too. He'll either sleep in those or sleep sacks this winter and we'll crank up the heat to 70 since he'll be a newborn. If it's over 70 in our house, I'd dress DD in the cotton and DS still in the fleece. Since you're keeping your temp at 68, then I'd go with the fleece instead of the cotton.

All of DS's jammies are Carter's. He wear's the Cotton Terry or fleece footed pg's all year around. If the air isn't on and it's too warm he wears thin cotton pj's. We also put him in a sleepsack cotton or fleece depending on the temp. In the fall/winter we keep the heat at 68 at night. He doesn't sweat.

We've used several kinds of pajamas since DD was born, and right now I really like the Childrens Place cotton stretch jammies. DD is 15 months old and 18 lbs 30" and the 18 month size are big on her but that's what we're using. I use a fleece Halo sleepsack over the cotton jammies and it works great for us. During the summer DD wore the Carters 2 piece shorts jammies (actually we owned the blue set posted above!) we got at Costco and some other ones we got from Target. Both worked great. We also have a couple Carters blanket sleepers that we may use when it gets a little colder, but for now we're still very happy with the Halo sleepsack combo.

DS is currently wearing a short sleeve onesie under the Target Circo fleece footed sleeper. His room gets down to about 65 at night. During the summer, my favorite pjs were the WalMart "Carters" brand, cotton 2pc long sleeve w/ pants. With the AC on his room was still cool.

I bought three of the footed cotton sleepers from Children's Place on Sunday, and I really like them so far. I bought one pair in 6-12 months, and it fits well. The other two pairs were in 12-18 months, and they fit too. They're just a little more loose and he has room to grow into them.
Thanks for the recommendations so far, ladies! :)

Bumping my own thread because I want to buy more sleepers (cotton and fleece) so I don't have to do laundry everyday.
Are there any other brands or websites that sell sleepers at good prices? I'm still loving the Children's Place, but I bought all of the prints that like, so I want to look elsewhere.

JRPAGV We have a lot of Carter's pj's and really like them. They're very roomy and keep Olivia warm. our house is around 67-68 at night. When she wears the heavy fleece one's we don't put a onesie on underneath, but she will wear socks almost always-no matter what material the pj's are. her feet are ALWAYS cold, even when the rest of her is warm. Anyways, I really like the Gerber fleece footed zip-ups. She's fits ok in the 18mo. size, but they are a little big as she is on the small end of their size chart-but I want them to last them through winter. I bought them in packs of 2 at Wal-mart for $9something. and i'm thinking about getting another pack for laundry reasons as well. Haven't tried the Circo one's from Target. Olivia hasn't been in the blanket sleepers for a good 4 months. Her legs are long and don't let her stretch out as much as she'd like. :) Happy pj shopping!
I just wanted to second, or third the Children's Place footed pjs. They are great - I love the way that they fit and they are the only ones that tend to fit for a longer amount of time.
