Fertility Monitor Thanks for the responses ladies! I just started charting this cycle and I am 3 days in to temping - I have been pretty consistent with my wake time so hopefully it helps. I do think I may go ahead and buy the monitor -my cycle length is very regular (b/t 27-28 days) so it sounds like it would work for me. But, I think I will have to wait until next cycle to use it, so I plan to time BDing based on charting this cycle.

Hi ladies!
After my crazy long cycle last month, I was worried that I was no longer in tune with my body---and low and behold-I can tell I'm O'ing right now! Such a relief.

Well I finally got my cycle today so I am officially CD1. Not to bad for me that would make it an almost 50 day cycle. So we will try again this month but I have my Dr's appt in 3 weeks so if not next cycle would be Clomid I guess.

charting question Is the day of your temp dip O day or the day your temp shots up? It's been so long I can't remember. I'm just nervous I O'ed really early this month.

ShannonGH
01-24-2007, 04:44 PM
Once your temp jumps up, you've already o'ed. So it's the day before that.

Anyone with a success story would be most appreciated...I'm on CD9, day 7 of injections. I've had 75/day up until now. My E2 was 133 on Monday, with a good sized follicle (16) and several more that were decent (13 & 10).

However, today there was no change- my follicles hadn't grown and my E2 level actually dropped. My RE didn't seemed worried and had actually indicated this might happen once he saw my ovaries. My uterine lining was on the thin side, also. My dosage is now 150 and I go back on Friday for another scan.

I am so hoping that this cycle isn't cancelled and that my ovaries respond to the increase in meds. If anyone knows more about this situation, I would really like to hear good news!

I'm totally clueless when it comes to the whole IUI process. I wish I could be more helpful! Try to stay positive. I know there's an IVF thread, but is there an IUI thread? Just trying to think of where you might be able to go to get some support & info!

I'm here this morning to whine. Today is the first day of cycle #5 for us. I've had this feeling that #2 would take longer, but I was hoping it would be just as easy as #1. I now wonder how long it's going to take. I was pretty depressed yesterday when I realized AF would come today, and DH could tell. He's trying to be supportive, but all he can say is "don't worry" and "we're already lucky because we have DD."

*sigh*

ShannonGH

I'm so sorry Diane. :(

And Kelly's Girl, unfortunately all of that talk is over my head. I'm sorry I don't know much about IUI.

Pookie
01-25-2007, 01:58 PM
Kelly's Girl We didn't quite get to the IUI when we were going thru IF, but my RE was of the opinion it was better to cancel a cycle that wasn't going as well to save that $ for one with better chances. I'm sorry if that wasn't what you wanted to hear, though. Good luck to you. I know how hard IF is. Hugs to you.:)

just to weigh in on the prenatal discussion that was going on, I had to call my OB's nurse to ask another ?, so I asked her this as well. Her stance was that as long as the prenatal had 1 mg of folic acid, OTC or script didn't matter. I have to check the ones I have. If mine don't, I think I'll wait until I'm actually pg to get a script. I took the same ones with DS and he's just fine.

He's trying to be supportive, but all he can say is "don't worry" and "we're already lucky because we have DD."
DH, and others, have told me similar things, and I know they mean well but when you're having to start another cycle, it just isn't the most reassuring! My thoughts are with you, DC.

Went back to the RE this morning, and was very encouraged. I was afraid it would be like Pookie said and he'd cancel the cycle, but he told me that he wasn't freaked out after Wed's appointment (even though I was!) The big follicle looks like it was a leftover from last month and is going away but my other ones are growing right along, so it's a slow cycle but one we're still in the game for! That is encouraging!

Happy Friday to all!

mrs chappy sorry DH is being confusing now. hopefully, you can figure out what he wants.

CD1 for me. I'm not charting, but i do have some OPK's that I think I'll use. Can someone remind (because it's been a while since I've used them!). What days should i start testing....before I think i'm going to O so if it comes up + then we should start bd'ing? I'm pretty 'normal' with my cycles, 28 days.. so i'm thinking i'll start testing on CD 10 or 11? does it matter what time of day i test? is FMU best?
as you can see i have no recollection of any of this from the first time!

mkvh
01-30-2007, 10:26 AM
OPKS--Day 10 or 11 sounds good. You should test in the pm with as concentrated urine as possible (don't pee for 3 hours and dont' drink a ton of water). You should O within 24-48 hours of a +OPK, so BD away when you see it!

I'm 12 dpo today and expecting AF anytime. Trying to decide whether to test or not. We did a poor job of bd'ing when we needed to this month (o'd earlier then expected) so it's made me pessimistic. I just don't know if I can take a bfn!

mkvh
01-31-2007, 08:45 AM
daisy--I still thing your chart looks awesome! Based on your last chart, if your temp stays up tomorrow, I would test. Although you don't get a drop before AF, do you?

daisysue62
01-31-2007, 09:04 AM
mkvh~ In the last three cycles my temp went up, stayed exactly the same, and went down the day AF arrived so it's hard to tell! The two cycles before I got pg with my DD my temp dropped the day of AF. The cycle I got pg my temps were triphasic and hovered between 98.5 and 98.8. My temps are lower then that right now (98.4 this morning).

mkvh
01-31-2007, 09:14 AM
I can't see your charts from TTC your DD, but it's possible that your body just is different now! You chart looks borderline tri-phasic to me right now! Not to get your hopes up. Is your CL the same as when you were TTC your DD?

Oh, how the waiting game sucks!

daisysue62
01-31-2007, 09:28 AM
I totally think my body is different now, I SWEAR my internal thermostat has gone up like ten degrees! I used to be forever cold and now I'm not. Weird :)

As for my coverline, it seems to have gone up as well (confirming my theory above!). It was 97.6 pre-pg and was 97.9 for two cycles and 97.4 last month. Last month was just weird though, I o'd way late. I swear my body is nowhere near clockwork! I started charting again in October last year because AF was over a week late the month before which kind of freaked me out. I like to have an idea on when to expect her!

Name: Kopper (Katie)
Married: 09/21/02
DC#1: DS, Jacob 03/31/06
TTC: As early as 04/07 but maybe a few months later
Charting ?: not yet

So right now our official TTC date is Jan '08 but we will probably start right after DS turns one or a little later. DH is on board with starting asap. I'm just waiting for my cycles to return. DS is 10 months and BFing and I'm taking a medication that can cause me not to cycle. I am stopping the meds when DS is one so hopefully I will start cycling and we can TTC. Right now we sometimes don't prevent.

Welcome Kopper!

I haven't checked in here in a while. We are on cycle 2 of TTC and DH is already bitching about "The Schedule". I think next month I'm going to temp every day (I started this month then kept forgetting) and also use OPKs so I time things better and we don't end up having this conversation anymore:

[DH walks in the door from work]
Me: OK, I know I said yesterday was the last day, but...
DH: NO!
Me: Come on!
DH: NO MEANS NO!

Funny, I think my body is totally different, too, but in the opposite way. My pre-O temps are colder now than when we were trying for #1. I'm about 30 lbs lighter than when were TTC before, so I'm wondering if that has any influence. I can't wait to see what your temp is today.

Welcome, Kopper!

As much as DH bitches about me charting ("can't you find a BBT that doesn't BEEP?!?!?"), he's always asking me how my temp looks everyday in the 2WW: "what was your temp like this morning?" I'm gonna tell him he's not allowed to complain about it & be interested at the same time.

Hello!!!

Well now that it's February, I can officially say just three more months until we TTC!!! I'd love to have a Feb baby next year!!!!!

When we TTC DS, I just kept track of my CM, and we conceived on our first cycle. Post DS my cycles are not as predictable, and I seem to have CM for a longer period of time, and I'm worried that I won't be able to detect when I O as easily as the first time around!

Would someone mind taking the time to explain how to temp? What I need, etc? I'm considering keeping track of my temp this time around..

TIA

I got a BFP this morning! I'm really excited but it seems like it happened so fast I can hardly believe it. Last time it took 8 months of trying and this time around we get pg the second month trying? It seems very surreal. The second line is really faint on the BFP so you can bet I'll be buying some more HPTs at the store today to take over the next few days! You can never be too sure! ;)

I'm also nervous about m/s this time around. Last time it was HORRIBLE and I was barely functioning for three months. I really hope it isn't as bad this time and I might be able to avoid some known triggers and stock up on the Cheetos, vegetable soup, and jerky which is all I ate when I had m/s the first time around! It was all day sickness but I never puked. It was just constant sick feeling and dry heaving, not fun. And I can only imagine how fun it can be to experience while caring for my toddler

Well, curiosity got the best of me and I tested today. Negative. Boo. The cycles not officialy over yet, so maybe, but it's looking like a no. I think we'll hold off for the next few months then. My cousin is getting married in Dec and with a Nov/Dec/Jan/Feb baby, we wouldn't be able to go most likely. Plus, there's the whole school cut off date and if my kids are going to be 3 years apart in calendar age, I'd like them to be 3 years apart in school instead of 4. By waiting, they'll be 3-1/2 to 4 years apart and 4 years apart in school. TTC isn't that fun! :p Well, some parts of it are. :o

Anyone else still out there?

TTC is kind of boring. It's like you just wait and wait and wait with a few exciting parts. :)

I'm on CD29. Since I don't have any idea how long my cycles are, I'm trying to hold out on testing. I only have one test. I'm retty sure I'm out for this cycle, but we'll see...

I'm on cd14. No clomid this month, but I did start using the CBE fertility monitor. I finally got a high reading this morning so I'm hoping that I'll actually o on my own this month. I'm feeling better this month, I don't know if it's because I'm off the clomid or because I've finally realized that I don't have much control over when we get pregnant.

EXACTLY! I'm being quiet just 'cause I'm in the boring part right now. ;) Good luck to you!

Natrat: I'm feeling better this cycle, too, and I think it's because we're past the "deadline" that I somehow set for myself to get PG this around. The only reason that deadline existed is because that's how long it took to conceive DD. Now that I'm beyond that, I'm realizing that it'll happen when it happens.

Not much going on here...just preparing my body to TTC. Started vitamins and eating healthy again-actually dropped a couple of pounds(I'm now 13 pounds less than pre-pregnancy!)

Just starting to research TTC all over again...I've forgotten so much already! I'm going in May for my pre-conception visit with my OBGYN. I was going to by a BBT to start charting, but I've decided against it. Just don't want to get too technical just yet!

godsgift, Did you test? :D

Still boring here. Just waiting. I guess I could test, but I think it's negative, so I want to wait longer. I feel like as soon as I test I'll get AF. Oh, wait, maybe I should test then so we can get the next cycle on the road! :)

Yes! So true! :p Now I'm in a holding pattern. :( Maybe next month! We were thinking of holding out for a few cycles since my cousin's wedding is in December cross-country, but I think we'll just go for it. If we can't make the wedding, we can visit later during maternity leave. Wouldn't that be nice? :)

SiValleySteph - I ramble with your same point in my head all the time. Well if I get PG this month we may not be able to do this and that with plans with family weddings, vacations, and any other upcoming events. I talk about holding patterns all the time, then I just say I want to get PG so no holding patterns. If I can not make a certain event people will just have to understand.

No much going on here either we are in the middle of my cycle I think so we are DTD alot this week and into next week. So we shall see.

Is anyone a WOHM? I am...and I think I'm starting to stress out about finding time for 2 kids....while still working FT (which unfortunately, I'll still need to go back to after #2). I feel guilty enough as it is now trying to make enough time to spend with DD during the week, that I feel like I'll be depriving 2 kids now of sufficient mommy time. Am i being crazy? anyone else feel like this?
I try to make the weekends all out the family and spending time, together, but it's still hard when I only get a short time together w/DD during the week.

miel

Am i being crazy? anyone else feel like this?

I'm so scared about this. For one thing, I can barely handle one kid. How am I going to handle another kid? My life's going to be crazy. And yes, they won't see me as much as they want or maybe even need to. It's not ideal in any way, shape or form. American jobs don't leave enough room for family life.

What I tell myself: I had a lot of fears of this sort about the first one. But I have no regrets! Best choice I ever made. So I'm just going to jump in and try for a second. It may not be the ideal thing but sometimes these things have a way of working out. I don't want to miss this chance and there are always worries to have with children. I know my children will have so so so much love. I hope that makes up for it.

AF showed yesterday, so just two more AF's before we start TTC. I'm ready for May to get here already, but I can't believe it's not too far away. I have thought about maybe seeing what happens, but I'm not sure. November is a kind of taboo month for me to have an EDD since that was when my first baby was due. December, we already have sooo many birthdays in. I know I'm kind of weird, just trying to rationalize. We'll be closing on our new house the beginning of March, so DH would probably agree to "see what happens" after that.

Hang in there Diane, those bfns are such a drag.

I haven't posted in a while because nothing exciting is happening in our household. It was nice to have a regular cycle last month, I'm supposed to see AF on Sunday...we arrive in Mexico on Sunday for vacation. I guess I'll bring a test with me. A weekend of not knowing wouldn't hurt, but I can't imagine getting a bfp after a week of tequilla!

Good luck to everyone!

Temping: I was so good about tempting when TTC DD, what actually worked so much better was just tracking my cm. Hopefully that works this time around. Anyone else feel the same way?

I like the Answer brand test strips. You get 20 strips for just under $20. They work well for me. It says to use all of the strips in 30 days or else they expire, however. I don't buy that - I used them up over the course of 3 cycles and they seemed to work that entire time. I think they're just trying to sell more product.

Sorry Diane. Hang in there.

Me: I'm out this month. DH was sick during peak time and we definitely didn't cover our bases. It's ok though, we are still in the see what happens kinda phase. I expect AF on Tuesday and we'll try during this cycle. if we were successful my due date would be in the first week of dec (which would mean a late nov baby bc i'll most likely have a repeat c/s). we'll probably then tta for the next month to avoid the xmas/new yrs baby.

is that nuts that I already look ahead to see when my due date would be if i got a BFP next month?:)

good luck to everyone...let's hope for some BFP's soon in here!

Temping: I was so good about tempting when TTC DD, what actually worked so much better was just tracking my cm. Hopefully that works this time around. Anyone else feel the same way?

This time around I only plan on going by CM (as well as maybe some OPKs). DD still isn't the best of sleepers and it seems that I get up at a different time every morning.

emmjay
02-22-2007, 09:08 AM
Temping: I had to start this month. Last month I just charted CM and I had no idea what was going on (I had a week of EWCM). I'm also using OPKs this month. The temping is hard, though, because I get up at all hours!

I really hope I get pg in the next few cycles. My best friend is getting married next year, probably in Puerto Rico, and I really want to go (I missed 2 other close friends' weddings when I was out of the country, and another when DS was born). I don't want to miss her wedding, so if I'm not pg soon we might have to TTA once she sets a wedding date.

I'm on CD10 now, so we're in the fun phase. ;)

MMH

I like the Answer brand test strips.

Where do you find these? I don't think I saw them at Target or Rite Aid, but I might have missed them. I don't like to stand in that section too long at Target because it's also the lube/condom spot. :o I know, that's so Jr. High. :D

02-22-2007, 09:42 AM
Sorry, Diane. :(

SiValleySteph~LOL! I am so the same way! I hate being seen by the condoms/lube. :o

I am horrible about temping. There are just come cycles that I maybe get a half a dozen temps on and that's it. My CM is pretty predictable though, so that helps! ;)

cgmom313
02-22-2007, 10:00 AM
Sorry, Diane - That just totally sucks! :(

Temp - I did it early on for DC#1 but havent got back into yet. I keep telling myself we are going to do it at the right time without any help. When I got PG the first time (then miscarried) we felt like a science project, then when I got PG with DD again felt like a science project. I think I am dreaming but we would just know to do it and then2 weeks later I am PG... Yea Right!!! That will never happen with my body!!!

SiValleysteph - I am also LOL on your comment!!! It is a very strange feeling being in that aisle. I also hate when I do by a PG test or OPK's and the looks you get from the cashier. They just look at me and smirk. I want to say ring it up and put it in the bag it is none of your business. On a side note I have seen the Answer brand test strips at WalMart!

So I should be in my 2WW even with my long cycles. We actually DTD both weeks I expect to O so we shall see!!

Bought the test on tuesday after DS was in bed (my brother babysat) and DH was in the car while i ran into CVS...waited until wed night..DH wanted me to wait until thurs..he thought AF would come...so then he broke down and told me to j ust do it. Last time i missed AF, DS was born...So, i peed in a cup and made him look 3 min later...

Congratulations Mrs.Chappy!! :D:D

And sorry that this wasn't your month natrat. :(

It turns out DH isn't really ready to TTC and we've decided to put it off for now. I have mixed feelings, too, so it's probably for the best. We both WOH and are just so busy as it is, that it seems like adding another baby to the mix would be crazy right now. I know it's at least 9 months before you actually have the baby, but it's hard to predict how things will be. DS is 2-1/2 and is just a handful these days. Lots of fun, but still a handful! The original plan was to TTC around June or so, so we'll see how we feel in a couple of months! And, this month isn't out yet!

Hey ladies : )
Last night DH,DS and I visited my best friend-who had her second baby. All of the same baby bug feelings I had prior to DS came flooding back(wich reassures me that I truly am ready to try again!).

Holding that little baby while DS looked on was so special, and I viewed DS as a potential big brother!!! We've decided that May would be when we'll TTC....but I'm thinking that in April, it might be fun to throw caution to the wind........have to talk to DH about it---we're going away tonight for a romantic weekend :D

DianeCourt I really, really hope you are out of here WAY before we TTC officially. As much as I'd love to be pregnant buddies again, I'd much rather see you conceive this cycle. :)

Lorene: welcome!!

So we returned from our weekend get away, and DH and I discussed bumping up our TTC date...and we agreed to throw all caution to the wind during the month of April!!! He pointed out that after all, it is only one month earlier :D

Good luck to those in the 2ww!

ETA: If somehow I do become pregnant quickly(like I did with DS), and I'm three months along for my little brother's wedding, do you think I'll fit in the dress? I ordered one size bigger, and it has an empire waist.

Hello everyone! DH and I have decided that it's time for #2. Right now we have 1 DS that is almost 2 1/2 and feel that we are ready to add another baby to the mix. I am just waiting on AF to show up!

I am kind of charting. This month is a really weird month and AF is taking her time getting here. I haven't temped since I got PG the first time but I think I will start again to know what is going on. I am so excited to TTC again!

Welcome sparkle&shine and lorialys!!

Well, I am hoping that I O'd yesterday, I have had no CM all month, most likely due to the Clomid but yesterday I had EWCM, not a ton but definetly there, today completely gone again, and I had some O pains yesterday. So I think I am in my first 2ww, kinda sad since we've been ttc for over 10 months but hopefully this will be it.

Hi loryalis and sparkle&shine - welcome to the group!

I am in the 2ww again. I realized that I O'd on CD 17 through finally charting again (in addition to a +OPK and crazy O pains), which might explain why nothing has been happening. I was assuming I O'd around CD14 like I did before, but looking back I think it has been more like CD 16 or 17. Anyway, now I just have to see how long my luteal phase is.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for this month - DH thinks we'll have a BFP this time, but now I think he jinxed it!

It's been a loooong while since I've been in here! I go back and forth about trying again- on one hand I'd like to lose some weight, but on the other I'd like to be pg before I turn 35. DH definitely wants another one ASAP. We haven't really been that great with timing, but this month we happened to DTD right around ovulation so we'll see...

Good luck to all those in the 2WW!

Good luck to all of those in the 2 WW!
Welcome to all of the new members!
JRDHbunny I hear you on the wanting to lose weight thing. I'm going to re-join WW tonight, so I'll have 2 months before we start TTC in May.
Newmommy We thought about seeing what happens in April too, but for professional reasons I can't really have an EDD before mid to early February. I'll likely end up delivering between 36-38 weeks, but I need to be able to travel in January.

We're in the process of moving into our new house. We're keeping 1 bedroom as the future nursery, not really decorating but storing all of the baby stuff and things as DS outgrows them. We're really hoping for a girl next time, but I have to say after looking at all of DS's old clothes it sure would be nice to be able to reuse stuff.

Welcome to the new members!!! I hope your stay isnt that long around here!!! ;)

So we are on our 3rd cycle, but it probably wont be the right time for us this month, because we are getting ready to close on our house and move. Too much stuff going on. I have a scripe for the Clomid but my DH and I have decided to not use that until at least May. We really want to get settled in our house. So we are still TTC but just the seeing what happens mode. Since my cycle is back on some normal pattern it could happen!!! :p

Pookie - I hear yea on the re-use of stuff. We would like a boy next time but cleaning out on my DD stuff I really have no gender neutral clothes. but with living up north now some of the Florida stuff we have probably wouldnt work for another one.

Good Luck to the 2WW group.

Weightloss~I would ideally like to get back down to at least 145 (my pre-pgcy weight) before we TTC, but if July comes and I'm not there, we won't put off TTC for that reason.

Ferris
03-06-2007, 09:20 PM
Tgr68/B] Like you we won't be putting on TTC for not being at my ideal weight. I am at my pre-pregnancy weight 145, but have been trying to lose 10 pounds for the last year without much success. So I have finally decided to stop worrying about it since we will start TTC next month, it's not worth the effort to just gain in back. I figured I would never be at my ideal!

Welcome to all the new members!! :)

We're really hoping for a girl next time, but I have to say after looking at all of DS's old clothes it sure would be nice to be able to reuse stuff.

Same here. I forgot how cute DS's old things were. We do have quite a bit that is gender nuetral so that's good too.

I am still waiting for AF to show. I swear now that I am ready to get going I have the weirdest cycle ever.

emmjay
03-07-2007, 09:10 PM
Reusing stuff: I don't really have a preference for the gender, but we also want to be able to reuse stuff. It seems like there are quite a few outfits DS wore once or twice (or never) before they were put away. Anyway, I can see benefits to a boy or a girl.

Weight: well, at 7 months postpartum I am still around 15 lbs over my pre-pregnancy weight. That is one benefit to not getting a BFP - one more month to drop a few pounds!

jrdhbunny - I want to be pg before I turn 35 too, but since that's in April I only have one more month if this cycle doesn't work out!

I'm on CD23. If AF doesn't show by Sunday, I'll test then. The 2ww is BORING.

jrdhbunny - I want to be pg before I turn 35 too, but since that's in April I only have one more month if this cycle doesn't work out!

I'll be 35 in April too! I'm not set on being pg before then, but it would be nice! I think the fact that so many people I know over 35 are pg right now doesn't make me worry.

Reusing stuff: well that would be great! especially if i get pg w/in the next couple of months then the seasons will be the same for my maternity clothes as well as for the baby...if it was a girl again.

Reusing stuff: All of our equipment can be used again, but I think we went a little baby boy crazy--down to the receiving blankets!!! So if we have a little girl, we'll have to do some shopping.

One more cycle until we TTC #2!! I just can't believe we're going to try next month! I'm super excited, and so hopeful because my cousin just got a BFP, and we could be preggo together!!!

I finally went to Target today and bought some OPKs. The first one out of the box was super positive! I would love for this cycle to be the one since I don't want to have to decide whether or not to skip the Christmas cycle.

Reusing stuff - We just moved into our new house and I've been looking at all of DS's baby stuff that I had already packed away. I have boxes and boxes of beautiful baby boy clothes. I really hope I get to use them again!

newmommy It is so much fun for you to be pregnant with your cousin. My SIL and I were due within one day of each other with my first pregnancy and it was so nice.

Hey everyone! Saw cousin yesterday--she's already popped at seven weeks along!!!

Seeing DS with his younger cousins gave me a glimpse of what's to come...I'm so ready :D

I finally told my best friend yesterday that we're going to try next month--she seemed shocked. She waited for her kids to be almost 4 years apart-so I'm guessing she thinks I'm nuts to want them 2 years apart.

Today is going to reach almost 50degrees--spring is on the way!! Hope to see lot's of BFP's this spring

Welcome to all the new members!

reusing stuff - I hope we can reuse all DS's clothes. It would be great if the next one is a boy. Even so we may still have to buy clothes if the seasons don't line up. All the big items will be reused. If we have a girl next I will have to get different bedding but the walls will stay the same. I will need new maternity clothes since the majority of mine are work attire and I'm a SAHM now.

weight - I actually lost all my baby weight but then put some back on. I'm working on it now and hopefully by the time I'm pregnant it will be off again but if not, what can you do?

Thursday I'm going to start cutting back on my meds (Domperidone) so that once I stop taking them completely my cycles will return. I need to go to the gyno for pains I've been having but other than that we are ready to start TTCing. I don't think we will actively TTC for another two months or so but we don't prevent now. Not that it matters since I'm not Oing.... I never thought I would say this but I'm ready for my cycles to return after 21 months.

We are officially out this month -- AF showed her ugly head yesterday - 3 days late and just in time for my bday. *joy*

I think we are going to hold off TTCing again until at least May/June to avoid a Christmas baby and to avoid having a baby in Jan (long story there)....

Weight - i have not been thin since i was 16 but i am about 30 lbs smaller than i was post preggo with ds.

If we conceive sometime this summer or fall like we are hoping for, our kiddos will be about 2 1/2 years apart which I think is ideal for us. I'm sort of a SAHM now, I only work partime two days a week and DH watches DS during that time. But I will be quitting my job when/if DC #2 comes to SAH again.

Newmommy- I realized i didn't answer your question...i am a WOHM. we are hoping to have the kids around 2 1/2 yrs apart. I think since i work FT, that is also a reason that i've been "hesitant" for lack of a better word to really TTC hard core. i worry that i won't have enough time for both kids...and that i will just be exhausted between work and home time.

mkvh
03-12-2007, 07:32 AM
I WOH part-time (2 1/2 days/week), and we would like our kids to be right around 2 years apart. Initially, we thought I would SAH when #2 was born, but now with the expenses we've got (we had to buy a 2nd new car), I may work for a while still. Depends what daycare (the ILs) has to say about watching 2 little ones!

I'd love to be a SAHM, but we need my mini income. I'm hoping DH gets a mega raise, but who knows

Just one more cycle until we TTC. This week I'm buying broccoli(folic acid), green tea(CM) and more vitamins.....oh I read something about Grapefruit juice!!! Any other tips?!

mkvh
03-12-2007, 08:03 AM
newmommy--Tutoring is a great way to bring in some extra cash. We have a friend who tutors (math), and his best clients have come from referrals. Can you put the word out to teachers and parents?

Oh, grapefruit juice is said to increase the quality of your CM. So if you dont' get a good patch of EWCM, it can help. I drank green tea when I conceived DD, but other than that I didn't do much. (Besides charting and OPKs  )

Hi ladies,
My best friend just left with her newborn--oh how I miss that stage! My DS is 14 months old, and was so interested in the baby!
My friend asked me how I'll ever do it, because DS is so active...kind of made me upset, and I'm not sure why
I know our lives will be a lot more hectic and I'l be more tired, blah, blah. Mommyhood is the best thing that's ever happened to me, and I can't wait to have DC#2.

newmommy - You know I clearly remember FREKING OUT when my DS was about 4 months old. We were at a family function and DH's cousin has a little boy that is 5 months older than DS. He was cruising along and getting into everything. Total normal behavior for a 9 month old but I couldn't even picture DS doing any of that and wondered how I would even be able to take care of him once he got to that stage. Then I realized that is why they come out so 'easy' to take care of. You get to build up to the mobile stage. So I can understand where your friend was coming from. But she has to remember that as the new one grows up to getting into everything your DS will be getting older and more mature. It's not like you will have two running around for a while! You'll be fine!

Natrat- Yay for O! Good luck catching that egg!
