I bought one at a garden shop last year and planted it.

No flowers this year; none last year.

Does that plant have to reach maturity in order for it to bloom? Thanx.

This was pretty much why I started the other Hydrangeo thread. I had heard pruning can make a difference in whether they come back year after year. My Mom has your problem. No blooms for years. The year she left it alone it came back like gang busters.

From what I can tell there are different varieties that need different care and they can be somewhat particular. I haven't found one really good source of info...yet....

I didn't prune it because it's still a young plant. I left it as it is.
