Hello!
Recently, my neighbor mentioned that she always hands out "king size" halloween candy! I have no children yet, so I have no idea what my other neighbors do. We have always purchased the smaller size that is sold around Halloween time, and also some small bags of animal crackers, teddy grahams, etc. for the babies that might be too young for candy. Am I alone? Please tell me we are not the worst house on the block! What size do you guys get?
Thanks!

I purchased animal crackers and granola bars along with small size candy bars and other things, too. We have a ton of smaller children on our street who I'd deem too young for candy, hence the animal crackers. As a child, I'd LOVE to have a king size bar but find it a little too much.

We usually have a few different types of small candy bars and chips and animal crackers, but we tend to give a couple of the candy bars, not just one.

We buy the small size bars also. We also buy some type of hard candy like lollipops and hand out 1 of each. I've never heard of anyone handing out the king size bars. We get a lot of kids so I can't imagine how much it would cost to give out the large bars.

We give the small size. I can't even imagine the cost of the larger ones! We tend to give 2 or 3 of them, but that depends on how it looks like the night is going and if we think we'll have enough (including those few that we hold back for ourselves!).

We get WAY TOO MANY kids to even consider anything but "fun size" candy. We buy at least 5-8 of the large bags.
One year, my neighbor worked for a candy company and gave full-size bars because she was able to get them at an amazing price - other than that, we all pretty much give the same thing.

My parents give out the full size candy bars every single year. Dad goes to Sam's and stock up on huge boxes of several different kinds of really good candy. When I was a kid our house was the most popular house in the neighborhood, which got really tiresome when I got older and had to answer the door to hand it out.
DH and I, however, hand out boxes of raisins. :D

We do the "fun size"..I think that the full sized candy is too much for a small child and I would end up eating it..which I totally don't need.

We do the fun size, but I normally give 1-2 handfuls to each kid. I like the variety the fun size offers; we get big bags of mixed candy.
My mom will hand out king sized candy bars. But, they live in the country and maybe get 20 kids. And, quite frankly, they are empty nesters who have that kind of disposable income to spend $$$ on good candy ;)

I do full size candy bars. The regular size, though, not the king size. It's something I always wanted to do, so once we had a house, that's what we did!
I've already bought for this year - 110 full size candy bars. We're down to 109, though, because I ate one. :o Last year we had 108 trick-or-treaters and then I turned off the light. We got a couple of stragglers still ring the doorbell, but we were out of candy.
The expense isn't that much because we have a grocery outlet nearby. Candy bars are 25 cents, so I got all mine for uner $30. I think it's worth it because the kids love it! :D

This is the second year we've handed out full size candy bars. In September, Costco had a coupon for buy one box get one free, so we take advantage.

We don't currently live in a country where trick-or-treating is practised, but I would definitely go with the small sizes. As a parent, I much prefer smaller portions of candy for my kids!

I bought my candy today and I got funsized hersey bars, dum dum pops, and starburst type things, funsized reese cups and kit kat bars. All of that cost me over 10 bucks so I can only imagine how much king sized would cost.

Thank goodness I got the smaller size, because I have already raided our stash a few times! :o

We do the small, because i always like a variety of candy rather than 1 big one. :) It seemed like "more" to me to get 2-3 small pieces rather than 1 full sized.

200 - holey moley! We only got 12 this year....boo...and it was warm out.
I buy the fun size (2-3 different kinds) and put them in the little Halloween goodie bags. I give 4-5 pieces in each sack. Last year a lot of kids remarked "cool goodie bags" so I guess they were a hit. This year I also bought the mini playdough cans to give to the little ones in addition to the candy.

We didn't get many kids this year (its just kids in my building who come, and we sign up to let them know who's passing the candy out). I ended up giving about 4-5 pieces to each kid! Though there was one kid a little under 2 who refused more than 1 thing, and would only take the mini-bag of Teddy Grahams. So. Cute.

We do the fun-size portions, and I gave each kid about 3 of them. Of course, that's because I think I bought too much candy...my goal was to give 2 out, but once I realized that we weren't going to have as many kids as I thought, I upped it to 3. At least I got rid of those Laffy Taffies...
